Posessing some keys (of a car, house, email account - bitcoin wallet) ,doesn't prove real ownership - not on showing, using, whatever.

I have only read a few articles from sources which support CSW's claim of being satoshi and they all throw in this stupid analogy. Are they really out of any other ideas? Bitcoin is supposed to a "currency" smdh, You don't go out in the real world giving out stakes in your house in exchange for services and goods, that's not how it works! You use "Cash"... I find this analogy really dumb, but then again I shouldn't be surprised as these people actually think CSW is Satoshi... BTW the "deed" of the house is the "Key" in this analogy! That's how the state identifies you as being the owner of the "house"... How da Fuck! can these people not recognize that? We are in 2020 and people are still dumb as fuck!

The time machine is still glitching, off by one second again. You might want to have that checked out before we all perish in some sort of quantum catastrophe.

I bet TMAN knows a Man who can sort-out this issue...

Bringing this dead topic back to life, Today my signature campaign balance reached over 0.01 BTC and this "Dice" page came out of nowhere... Anyway, it looked like YoBit has a dice game in it. I didn't try to gamble as I couldn't find anything related to it being Provable fair... I couldn't find anything in the Faqs about it either. Is the game even provable fair? I have withdrawn my balance from yobit and the "dice" page button has disappeared from the navbar... Trying to visit https://yobit.net/en/dice/ results in an empty page except for chatbox and market stats. So I guess @shoreno the game is only available to users who have more than 0.01 BTC in their balance...
Dice game on yobit isn't provably fair. You can't check it too. As you can see there are lot of people playing on yobit dice, but i think those are only bots (some of them even bet 0.2 + BTC on yobit dice which unbelievable)

Yeah, Cuz I saw 0.3 BTC bets going off on a dice game which has no way of verifying that it's even provable fair...  Was Shaddy as fuck! I mean Yobit has never promoted it publicly ( from a little bit of "Googling" I did. I found nothing related to their dice, not even a tweet... )... Glad I got out their campaign...

166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Solves This: Bill Gates Talks About the US Wealth Gap on: January 14, 2020, 11:00:20 AM
That opportunity is only available to early adopters with disposable capital. Poor people don't have disposable capital to begin with. And years from now, these early adopter opportunities will have disappeared anyway.

Bitcoin is just another form of capital. It may transfer wealth from one group/class to another over time as the price rises, but it doesn't address the underlying mechanisms that cause the wealth gap -- real property distribution, capitalist and banking economies, etc.

Exactly... I gave the article a read... The author clearly is ignorant of "Capitalist values" ( I bet the author hasn't read any work of carl marx ) and different "supposed" ways to redistribute wealth... E.G UBI (Universal Basic Income) and things like raising the minimum salary of employees[1]. Although I'm not sure about UBI but this minimum salary increase paints a convincing picture... E.G

Quote from: CNN
Price says the higher wages have transformed the lives of his employees. They have been able to grow their families, more than 10% of employees have purchased a house for the first time and individual 401(k) contributions have more than doubled.

This is something what I will consider "redistribution" of wealth. The CEO had to cut his salary of $1 million to a mere $100K to make this happen... Imagine if all the big corporations out there decided to introduce something like this, that will really transform people's life But then again the model Dan Price has adopted isn't truly capitalistic in nature...

IMO, No sort of "Money" can "redistribute wealth"... As long as we will have the idea of "Profit", inequality will exist that's what essentially the word "Profit" means, One man's loss is turned into another man's profit... One could also argue that this whole idea of "Wealth Gap" is subjective. What's the Objective value of "Wealth Gap"? What's the right amount of "wealth gap"? There are no right and wrong answers here... It all comes down to our morals and then again we don't have any Objective Morals. If you want to truly eliminate income inequality, you will need to come up with a new system which doesn't involves the idea of "Profit"... and if we are being honest here that's wishful thinking... The reality is we will ever come close to something like Basic UBI which can help chip in to pay a bill or two, basically subsidising Energy and internet... A new way to fool people basically to prevent the working class to reach class consciousness... This whole idea of "wealth redistribution" is BS without addressing the Elephant ( capitalism ) in the room...

I already explained why FIAT is not fraud.

FIAT's history suggests otherwise...

Quote from: Wikpedia
The Song Dynasty in China was the first to issue paper money, jiaozi, around the 10th century AD. Although the notes were valued at a certain exchange rate for gold, silver, or silk, conversion was never allowed in practice. The notes were initially to be redeemed after three years' service, to be replaced by new notes for a 3% service charge, but, as more of them were printed without notes being retired, inflation became evident. The government made several attempts to support the paper by demanding taxes partly in currency and making other laws, but the damage had been done, and the notes fell out of favor.

This is most likely the case. Beincrypto has an ambassador program where they pay users up to €200 in fiat per month according to this archived post
That could be the case, though I never found cheezcarls's threads to be spam.  Hydrogen does much the same thing in the Economics section--he'll post some text from an article and then comment on it.  Since I don't visit crypto news sites, I find this sort of thing to be useful.  Just my opinion, though.

same feelings here. linking bitcoin-related press and providing commentary to jump start a discussion is not bad behavior. i don't mind the practice itself, particularly if the OP has something interesting to add.

the fact that all his articles are from beincrypto.com though, is transparent enough to be annoying. especially since a lot of them are just clickbait trash. i've got mixed feelings about this.

I have in the past shared articles from different sources but I have engaged in my threads with users... So does @Hydrogen. You will always find @Hydrogen to engage in his threads afterwards but with cheezcarls that is not the case as I mentioned above. This dude just sees a random clickbait article > Copy paste > Write a few sentences and forgets about the thread's existence. I haven't found him engaging in his threads after they have been created... His behaviour is in question here... I have nothing against sharing external links in general.
169  Other / Meta / Re: Policy on users like this guy? on: January 13, 2020, 07:34:51 AM
I did have a problem when cheezcarls was posting those huge images, but thankfully he's since stopped doing that.  Don't know if there's a specific rule that covers what he's doing, but I don't think there is as long as he's not including reference links or obvious advertising spam.  Maybe a moderator could weigh in.

Personally, I feel like if the user has real intent of discussing a topic which they are sharing, those should be allowed, I don't have any sort of problem with it... but if it's merely being done for padding signature posts and indirect advertisement, I feel like those should be nuked... As for @Hydrogen... @Hydrogen doesn't share his links from a single source, Plus he engages in his threads unlike cheezcarls in question... Would like to hear what mods think as well...

Ah well, that makes sense!

I believe some members here reported his posts but mods probably sees them as usable and don't lock/delete or move to press section.

It's not about individual posts but his method of operating basically, just like @UserU mentioned...

or at least his article has relevant content there.

Lol! You can't be serious! How is one guy's tweet about his sex life relevant to bitcoin's discussion...

In fact, if there are tax evaders and cheaters, they are not the individual working class persons but the large international and very wealthy corporations and companies using fiat.

Indeed, but there is nothing stopping the working class to reach "class consciousness'. Your points below could be one of the reasons why they would prefer to give out taxes but the reality is the top 1% give out the most taxes[1] compared to the masses, which is why we have guys like Donald working hard to reduce what the % of what the rich have to pay... These are the people who work hard to reduce what they have to pay in taxes, They Invest in Real estate and so on... So once they are out of the system, all you have is peanuts... Which then leads to an eventual collapse...

Your points...
Quote from: Darker45
If you are benefiting from public transportation, roads, health care, education, and other social services coming from the government, which is operating primarily from taxes, would you want all these services to be cut or even reduced? Of course not. If you can cheat your tax dues by using crypto and know that it affects the public services the government can offer, would you do it?

Quote from: Darker45
I am also with the belief that when cryptocurrency becomes the main mode of payment; tax collection, monitoring, computation, and so on would also be adopting accordingly. Furthermore, tax imposition might even be made more efficient with cryptocurrency with the help of the blockchain as businesses cannot anymore easily cheat about their income. Nobody can cheat with that public ledger. It cannot be tampered with. They cannot hide how much entered into their wallet.

This is only true if we end up with a "Stable Coin"... With Cryptocurrencies which allow users privacy, this isn't applicable...

User cheezcarls: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=254229

All this guy does is shitpost articles from beincrypto. Comes up with a few sentences and boom He is done for the day... This behaviour of his started from November 06, 2019. This guy has hardly engaged in any other threads ever since...

This guy's posting history: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=254229;sa=showPosts

Shouldn't these threads be getting nuked? What about a Temp ban? From what I believe this guy is getting paid to create backlinks for beincrypto. I can understand if the guy was sharing articles from multiple sources to pad his sig posts but he hasn't used another source from the past few months... Also, most of his threads belong in the Press section instead of bitcoin discussion and he has got away with them so far... Thoughts?

As a matter of fact, that "mass adoption" that you are referring to must also include the governments, central banks, commercial banks, and other traditional financial institutions hopping into the crypto train. And that is gradually happening right now.

Governments basically run on Taxes, with cryptocurrencies there is no way they will be able to collect the amount of taxes which they are able to collect now. Fewer taxes mean lesser military budgets, educational budget and so on... Public Services will basically fall... Shit hits the fan and boom we end up with Anarchy... I don't see how they survive out this "mass-adoption". As for Banks unless they will create something like USDT which again can be printed when they wish isn't a true "CryptoCurrency" But rather a "stable coin"... Another way to fool the masses basically... Bitcoin will become the "gold standard" easier to move, store etc. If you are a gold hoarder, good luck moving tons of it through a fallen society...

Quote from: franky1
or do nutters who have no morals use guns to create anarchy

Good luck with that... A society which cares only about benjamins is bound to have no morals... What morals are we even talking about here... LOL...

Lol... Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean I'm ignoring your point or using "Semantics"... This whole arguing is pointless as I said above... There are more than 1 "market items" in my opinion in your's it maybe none... The whole idea of "market item" is based on "Opinions"... smh...

Quote from: antikvark
You point about FIAT is besides the point. Money is not created out of thin air. It is the record about the existence of money what is created out of thin air. Money is loan, and loans are created out of collaterals and general abilities of borrowers to repay them.

Semantics much...? See how easy it is to play this game? By your definition " It is the record about the existence of money what is created out of thin air. " Then Fiat money is also a fraud since it represents a number in a database and has no real market item to represent...

I'm gonna spectate for now and see what others have to say about this...

No, your lack of ability to understand bitcoin's technical side isn't my issue but rather yours... "Unspent Outputs" are what you would say Bitcoin's "market item" is... Do give Bitcoin's whitepaper a read and once you understand the concept of "Unspent Outputs" we can continue from there...

P.S I like how you are ignoring the points I made about FIAT.

The man who joined the signature of Yobit does not like me. Are you making irony? How many people defended this signature?

I have been in this campaign from 08-12-19. I didn't pledge allegiance to Yobit when I joined their signature campaign... They are simply paying me a "rent" for my sig space... There is nothing "ironic" in me calling-you-out... You defending "yobit's investbox" is a "you" problem because I never placed their "investbox" signature on... But you wouldn't know that because I never jumped in your threads... I'm not even in Yahoo's signature campaign thread, Simply because it isn't required...

So I have been thinking about this for a few days, I can't seem to paint a clear picture of how things will pan out once Cryptos have been "mass-adopted". Do you think we will end up with Anarchy or we will come up with something to ensure "social order"?
