1101  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet not received my bitcoins on: October 11, 2017, 06:00:01 AM
gave my adress to seller ( correct  adress, check!)  money withdrawn from account, not received by my wallet in electrum... there is no support or nothing in electrum, any suggestions?
 Shocked

There is nothing electrum can do about it. Here is what you should do.

1) Ask you seller to give you the transaction id. See on any blockchain explorer that indeed your seller has sent in your transaction.
2) Check if windows firewall or any other antivirus or firewall is not blocking your traffic to electrum.
3) As HCP said, see if you see the green dot at the bottom right corner of electrum.
4) Report back here and let us know what the issue was.
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Private Key/Seed Best Practices on: October 11, 2017, 05:25:44 AM
What are some best practices for storing private keys or seeds? Are there any good resources with best practices? What are your best practices?

Some questions that come to mind:

  • How many copies to you keep?
  • Do you keep it on multiple mediums (paper, usb, cryptosteel, cdrom, etc)?
  • Do you keep the full seed/key on each medium or split it (e.g. 1/2 on one paper, 1/2 on other paper)?
  • If the seed/key is encrypted (e.g. veracrypt or keepass), is it safe to store on cloud storage?
  • Where are the best places to keep copies (cloud, buried in yard, home safe, bank safe deposit box, parent's house)?

Well for me personally, I prefer an offline PC to generate new Seeds. For keeping the seed save, I prefer atleast 3 copies, 1 on an offline PC, 1 on a usb Drive and 1 on a plastic covered paper. I have never thought of splitting up the seed but it sounds like a good idea. As for keeping encrypted seeds on cloud storage, I am always against that. You never know when your data might get leaked and with the dictionaries out there these days, its not the risk i am willing to take. Last question is a bit tricky, The ideal situation will be to have multiple storage points but they do carry a risk. A home safe sounds like a good idea as for banks, its a big no! Parents house yes! I believe there is no perfect way to protect your btcs, you can just take necessary steps to prevent your losses.
1103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: (0 fee transactions) does amount matter when nodes reject tx?! on: October 11, 2017, 05:06:33 AM
Well i believe Bitcoin was never intended to be a zero fee currency. As far as i know, bitcoin transactions were called almost "Free" because of low fees, But i would like to know the technical side of aspect for this 0 fee not getting pushed. In theory we should be able to broadcast it. From which websites have you tried to push this transaction? Try a few of them and see if you get any success.
1104  Economy / Services / Re: Developer hiring! on: October 09, 2017, 10:23:01 AM
I think that better way for casino creation it is to take already developed scrypt. You will avoid many problems related to most of new products. Most important it is security matters.
everything i tried to find is with backdoors.for instance dice script
the last version is 3.3 and it is not good
maybe you can share with me some links?

Lol, you are looking for a pirated script, seriously? This will only end in a disaster. Even if you find a 'good' script, from where will you fund it? How will you do its promotion? If you can't spend money on a custom script, then i don't see how will you sustain the website in the long run. If you are serious about this project, spend some money on the website and build something unique. Goodluck!
1105  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coin jar ..WTF on: October 09, 2017, 10:12:17 AM
Your only option is to wait for a response, but if you feel like you are being scammed, you should open a Scam accusation here on the forum it will alert many users over here, BTW personally i am hearing about coin jar for the first time, So i can't comment about them whether they are legit or a scam.

Edit: did you verify your account with them? Maybe they require your verification before they can process your payout.
1106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How much do people fear key loggers? on: October 09, 2017, 10:05:44 AM
Im gonna buy a ledger but i still want to.spread the risk among some other wallets. Problem is most now apart frrom core uses a 12 word passphrase. Problem is John Mcafee says millions of phones and computers have keyloggers so they can take photo.and send your passphrase quite easily.

Is this a serious risk?

How to use a wallet that solves this?

This is the exact reason why need further encryption, I am trying to build an open source wallet which will use your fingerprint to encrypt the wallet.dat file, along with password and 2FA encryption, that will be one of the solutions. Other than that your current best option is to get a windows copy from microsoft and do a brand new offline installation of windows and never connect that pc to internet, That's the safest you can go. Also Don't use ISO files from the internet, they can be modified quiet easily.
1107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please help on: October 09, 2017, 09:59:26 AM
If you encrypted it after a hack then I doubt it will have any btc in it. Encryption doesn't work like this. Sorry for that but most probably you lost all your bitcoins. wait, let me check if there is an easy way to do that. Until try to Upload your wallet file here although, I know they only support aes.json format - https://blockchain.info/wallet/import-wallet

The waleet.dat
Its not supported  ?

Can i just open it with bitcoin abc or electrum !!!!

As far as i know the wallets don't work that way, each wallet software creates the wallet.dat file differently, you can't import a bitcoin core wallet to electrum and vice versa. So your only option is to check the address which had your 12 BTC's or just be calm and wait out the sync time.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please help on: October 09, 2017, 09:54:12 AM
I think your Bitcoins are lost, as you are saying that you encrypted your wallet after downloading it, The encryption won't magically apply on the hackers wallet file, Do you have the address on which you had 12 BTC? It's the only way to see if your bitcoins are there or not. If you don't have the address on which you received the BTCs then your only option is to wait out and let the sync complete. Also it is your fault for storing an un-encrypted version on dropbox. Never upload your wallet files online. SMDH!
1109  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project Development newbie on: October 09, 2017, 09:49:07 AM
i want to learn how to Design and Development projects so recommended me some sites or book to start reading

Well if you are serious about learning programming, then i will recommend you to learn python. It is one of the most used languages and it has quiet a demand in the cryptosphere. You can take different courses on python from websites like EDX and coursera. I will recommend you take this course https://www.coursera.org/specializations/python it will help you alot and get you into the programming world.

1111  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coingamer project on: October 07, 2017, 06:29:18 AM
I totally agree with krishnapramod, you don't want to use adsense with bitcoin related faucets or games. However rewarding apps do use adsense and offerwalls to get their income from, i don't know why adsense has a dual policy for bitcoins. I have seen tons of rewarding apps use adsense and they never get banned. But for faucets you get a straight ban. Try different networks like adsterra, they are faucet friendly.

As for an idea here is one, make a competition game, and reward the user with most wins or points a pot amount.

1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PC/Android/IOS wallet with fingerprint encryption? on: October 06, 2017, 08:07:16 AM
Bad idea to begin with. Your finger print is not protected from the US government, while a password is. Same with any biometric devices, such as eyes.

Well you can use finger print as an additional security layer, just like 2FA Wink I didn't say it has to be just finger print or face lock.

Hey guys, i want to ask if there is any wallet software which encrypts the wallet.dat file with our fingerprint data, so that instead of typing a password which can be compromised by a keylogger, that wallet software should use our fingerprint data and some how use that data to encrypt the wallet.dat file and it should ask for the fingerprint to send btcs etc. Do let me know if any wallet like this exists or not. If it doesn't i will try to make one.

Why isn't this a really bad idea?

I remember some pretty rational discussions when fingerprint ID appeared on Samsung and Apple IOS concerning the dangers of They getting Our fingerprint data.

But here it's worse. It's not the phone or machine operating system, but an app that's getting, and intending to use, the fingerprint data.

There are other problems. I have seen a number of fingerprint scanners that didn't work reliably over time. One usually winds up working if you clean the scan surface. The other works maybe 1/10 of the time and basically is junk.

I am planning to make it open source, so you don't have to worry about app getting the fingerprint data, on new devices the fingerprint readers are quick and work almost 99% of the time, As for laptop's one may buy a quality fingerprint reader.

1114  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: BTC not showing in Electrum wallet despite of restoring from seed on: October 05, 2017, 07:33:38 AM
Your post is so confusing. Let me get some things cleared out first, You created a 2FA wallet with a new seed on 2 sept. You received some btc's on an address generated from that seed, Then you tried to spend some btcs but it failed because of 2FA sync time issue, So you decided to restore your wallet with the seed and when you restored, your btc's didnot appear? You thought that it was a sync issue so you sent some btc's to another address generated by the same seed and they appeared. You only see your earlier BTCs if you open the wallet file that you have on the usb drive. You see your new coins and old coins seperate on 2 different wallet files, This means that your usb wallet has a different seed and your new wallet has another seed. What you should do is load up the usb wallet and see its seed and compare it with the seed you have written down. I am sure that both wallets are using different seeds.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PC/Android/IOS wallet with fingerprint encryption? on: October 05, 2017, 07:07:37 AM
I'm not aware of any wallet on the platforms you mentioned, probably simply due to the fact that there will be a small userbase, because phones that have fingerprint sensors in them are expensive and not everyone have them, a PC can't read fingerprints unless you buy something else too. There is however Case wallet (a hardware wallet) which does that: https://choosecase.com/ but It's sold out, so you may want to contact them to ask them If they will create more wallets.

yeah i have looked around and found about case wallets, but they are sold out as you said. But i am looking for my laptop(that's what i meant by PC). It has a fingerprint reader on it, I agree the userbase is small but it can be a game changer, same thing can be applied for face lock. I will look in to it and try to make one in my free time.

1117  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: NEWS BOT - Development (Coders needed) on: October 05, 2017, 06:07:56 AM
Hi wondering if anyone can help me?

So I am looking to create a bot which provides alerts

I am not coder as such don't have the technical ability to build one , Also willing to pay a reasonable amount to get one built for me  Smiley

Your information is partial, i have a few questions, I have a friend who is good in python, he can probably do this, From where do you want to get the news from? And what kind of alerts do you want? A Notification on mobile phone or an Email/sms notification..
1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Payment to offline wallet on: October 03, 2017, 10:44:18 AM
Yes, most wallets give you a warning when you are trying to spend unconfirmed coins, so may be the coins your 'local exchange' sent you haven't confirmed, that's why may be you are receiving that email notification. Ask your local exchange to give you the transaction id and see if they have indeed sent the payment in and do check whether the transaction has received any confirmations on it.
1119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Logic behind mining calculators on: October 03, 2017, 09:36:42 AM
It isn't rocket science, just simple maths, you tell them hash rate, the cost of electricity, the investment cost, coin you want to mine and they simply calculate on what hashrate you can mine a solo block and then divide that with the X hash you have. You get the amount of coins you will mine daily from that, Remember this will fluctuate on daily basis you that X amount of btc daily to is an approximation. After that its simple math, daily amount generated in dollars - daily cost and you get your figures.
1120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Payment to offline wallet on: October 03, 2017, 09:30:41 AM
you can send your btc address to mocacinno if you want, but i will recommend you to check it yourself from other blockchain explorers, you will find plenty of them by doing a quick google search. Are you sure your exchange has processed the payment? Or did they only sent you a notification email that you are trying to send X amount of BTC to XYZ address? Also how trusted is this your local exchange? May be they have scammed you by not sending your bitcoins at all.
