You could use QR codes and SSTV to transfer the data back and forth thru audio... ¬.¬

Isn't it illegal to send fiat thru mail?
163  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Any other Americans considering a claim against the FBI over SilkRoad? on: December 05, 2013, 08:11:10 PM
The FBI moved the coins.  Either they brute forced the wallet password, timed the arrest when the wallet as unlocked, or DPR gave up the password.  Either way they coins have been sent to private keys controlled by the government.  The block chain is proof of that.  Can't move coins you don't have the private key for.

They've moved the coins that were deposited into the server pool addresses, because that wallet.dat was probably on the server itself.  Last that I heard, the address that the feds assume was the private wallet of DPR had not been moved; and if it had it would be more likely to be proof that they have a fallguy, and that DPR just moved them to make that point clear.  It's hard to access the Internet securely from a jail cell.
Depending on the jail, it's not that hard to get a smartphone with a data plan in, specially if you're loaded.

LOL, "All Time High" would be a great name for a Bitcoin-focused marijuana store! xD

Shit, man, i'm sorry, i jumped the gun. I should've checked the facts before reacting the way i did (i already deleted the more mocking post i had, feel free to delete your reply with a quote of it).

You didn't make it easy though, a newbie account, no avatar matching the company etc.

I think it would've gone much better, if you had made clear from the start you were with the IBB we are familiar with; and had focused more on why it's a good idea, than on religious jargon, teachings etc.

The first impression this thread gave (before the OP was edited etc), was that this was a newbie reinventing the wheel and going a bit more extreme than what he was unwittingly copying; and for a bit it looked like he was being stubborn about not acknowledging someone else had started a business with that name already.

Hm, why do the wall charts on http://trading.i286.org/ and on http://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mtgox/btcusd don't seem to match at any scale?
Nvm, seems i hadn't tried all scales yet.

Wait, wasn't he told to go talk on forums about it by one of their employees?
172  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: My buddy is getting a divorce. Can the court seize half of his bitcoins? on: December 04, 2013, 11:22:05 PM
Well , I don't know how that goes but if he denies in court that he has any other bitcoins(valuables) in his possession and after he is released he gets caught using them , well , isn't he going back to court for another round?

Not if he gets asylum in North Korea or Russia (or more realistically in Venezuela or Cuba).

There are many more countries that dont have an extradition treaty with the US.
He could just travel between them forever on normal VISAs.
Didn't they stop a president's plane while it was over another country for suspicion he was smuggling Snowden to the LA?

It was the Bolivian president and he was certainly not flying to LA.
You simply have to avoid US loving countries airspace.
And i doubt they would pull a stunt like this again anyway.
Latin America, not Los Angeles.

Wait, this is legit? Are you working with them?

175  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoins in space! on: December 04, 2013, 09:27:26 PM
Here's a crazy proposal: What if the sats were programmed to start mining if they don't see new blocks for too long; making it so that even if no one on the surface of Earth is mining, the network will continue on time?

That is a really fun idea, but it would require a lot of power in a low-power situation.

Let's hope the price of plutonium power sources comes down.  Otherwise, solar power is most likely.

If there is no one to compete with the satellites, the difficulty would get adjusted to fit their processing power after a few space-born blocks.

I'm curious how drone delivery will work in big cities where people don't got anything resembling a landing pad in their apartments...

In any case, i expect there will be increased demand for window blinds and curtains...

Yeah that's an issue, I imagine a user would select a spot on a map (within designated areas) where it could be delivered.I know my apartment has some common use areas, perhaps if this was mainstream one area would be devoted to a landing pad, and a text message would be send 1-2 mins prior to arrival so you could go get your package.

Just a thought.

For buildings that go all the way to the sidewalk, and with restricted access to the roof, either you would have to wait on the sidewalk. Or perhaps Amazon would start having cities scanned in 3d, and you could assign a window to receive the drone thru. How big are those things though?

Which part of "There is already a Islamic Bank of Bitcoin" did you not understand?
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin denominations and naming conventions on: December 04, 2013, 06:26:46 AM
Hm, how about:
"centbis" (cBTC) / "millibis" (mBTC) / "micbis" (µBTC) / "satoshi" (sBTC)

(drop the "s"s for singular)

for casual, and follow SI standard for formal?

ps: of course, not discarding "bitcoins" for BTC
