1141  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Can you use this to boost your laptop's mining power? on: July 05, 2011, 11:06:50 PM

Quote
Laptop graphics have always been something of a joke performance wise. Nvidia and AMD do try, but cramming all those millions of transistors into a low-power, compact package just leads to massive expense and an inability to upgrade.

Wouldn't it be perfect if you could simply use a standard external graphics card to power your laptop's 3D graphics?

The good news is that you can. The suitably technical-sounding PE4H is just that; a passive PCI-e x16 to x1 adaptor, which enables you to plug an external graphics card into a laptop's ExpressCard slot. Currently we're only aware of it being available from the Taiwanese firm www.hwtools.net for around $100 including shipping.

Ok, can someone please explain me WTF IS GOING ON?

I'm getting sick of this madness, i'm seriously considering to sell all my bitcoins and call me out untill the price chart of the major exchange service doesn't look like white noise anymore.
Isn't that graph sideways?
1143  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [RFC] When wallets conflict with the block chain on: July 05, 2011, 08:05:20 PM
Would the transaction be removed from the transactions history or would it be marked as "REJECTED" or somthing like that?

What happens if you start the client with the --rescan flag or delete the blockchain and let the client redownload it?
1149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PS3 Bitcoin Cellminer - Guide and Files Included on: July 05, 2011, 07:36:10 PM
Is it worth building a PS3 mining farm instead of a farm using ATI mining rigs?

1151  Economy / Economics / Re: The Dichotomy Of a Bubble - Why Bitcoin Will Endure on: July 05, 2011, 07:19:36 PM
That cartoon is useless and disingenuous. Husbands aren't a commodity. Bitcoins are.

If wives can be a commodity, why not husbands?
1152  Economy / Economics / Re: The Dichotomy Of a Bubble - Why Bitcoin Will Endure on: July 05, 2011, 07:18:03 PM
...

...I believe that there is in fact a bitcoin bubble in the process of deflating...

Bubbles don't deflate, they burst
1153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Potential attack vector in generating Bitcoin addresses? on: July 05, 2011, 07:05:26 PM
I've been told that the odds are there will be no collision before the heat death of the universe even if everyone dedicated all their machines to that goal
1154  Economy / Speculation / Re: CRASH! on: July 05, 2011, 06:33:45 PM
What if someone launches an exchange with no fees that can compete with 'Gox? Will people be crying for people to abandon ship like how it happened when certain pools were close to or above the mystical 50% mark?
1155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shout Out To AnonX For The 37.5 BTC Fo' FREE on: July 05, 2011, 03:55:45 AM
I'm still not sure on what really happened here, but i've been having some splitting headaches lately so i guess that's excuse enough...
1156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How would I check the balance of an address not in my wallet? on: July 05, 2011, 03:47:33 AM
Blockexplorer.com???
How would I check the balance of an address not in my wallet?  And not through blockexplorer or a similar service, but directly through bitcoind?  Is there an RPC call to do this?...

1158  Economy / Economics / Re: What if money expired? on: July 05, 2011, 02:40:04 AM
if it's a same date for all money, i think it would get less and less valuable, and eventually people would rush to exchange it for things that would survive the cycle
1159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why was bitcoin designed with no inflation? on: July 05, 2011, 02:14:01 AM
I still expect to profit in a similar manner as the people that joined in more than a year ago in at most a couple of years from now, if not sooner
1160  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do libertarians support the idea of information as property? on: July 05, 2011, 02:10:25 AM
What happens when the location of the leak is unknown but there is someone not bound by your contracts that claims to have managed to copy the info (and that seems to really have it) ?
