I've cut myself on a CPU fan a couple of times [...] I cut myself 'cause it was running And why would you stick your fingers in a spinning fan "a couple of times"? Prolly same reason why someone would paper cut his penis? I had recently assembled the new machine and was hearing some noises, i was looking around for cables that could be touching some of the fans and got careless (if the machine was turned off i wouldn't know when i bumped on the right cable, since there would be no noise). I don't remember what the reason was the other times, probably somthing like that i guess.

That's an interesting one

I cut myself 'cause it was running, sharp as it was i wouldn't even felt a little pain if the blades weren't spinning at the thousands RPM level

I've cut myself on a CPU fan a couple of times, even got a good bleeder once, the several layers of TP i wrapped around my thumb were drenched in blood in a matter of minutes

Using the Vanity addresses patch or a similar technique

Wouldn't that create the risk that if someone send a payment before downloading the whole blockchain they'll have to send it again once it's fully downloaded?

The difficulty is like saying you need to get less than N when rolling a gazillion sided dice to be acknowledged as having cracked a block; people can get lots of dices and roll them at the same time to increase their chances of getting a small enough number, if people start using too many dices, the threshold is changed so that even with all the additional dices everyone together still only get a number bellow the threshold around 6 times per hour on average, same thing if people start using less dices, but in the opposite direction.

Would it work if you have the blockchain be stored in a folder shared in the network and have all clients using that same chain at the same time? Would it work if all but one client had only read-only access to the blockchain files to reduce the chances of corrupting it?

Do common metal safes work like faraday cages? If yes, that's a nice 2 for one deal...

How about instead of restricting image sizes, automaticly check the size of images, and for the images that are too big the system will automaticly add the appropriate HTML tag parameters to make them fit in the maximum for the dimension that it's over (or both if it's too big both ways) ? This way people using too big images will still get to show them without needing to run their images thru an image editing proggie, but their sig images will load slower and will not look as nice.

I'm not sure if mine can be called a smartphone, the N900 is more like a Linux based netbook with a builtin GSM modem...

You mean for this forum? That would be an issue for newbies and people coming here to get help to get their clients working etc...

So there is no point in avoiding repeating the same address over and over again, hell, you could dedicate all your processing power to just generating one address in the beginning and keep monitoring it for the rest of your life for the same effect
|
|
|
Or keep monitoring the ones you created so far waiting for someone else to collide with one of them and receive some money there
