1064  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Violating the U.S. Law on: July 17, 2011, 08:12:26 PM

1066  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does wallet need to be "open" to receive coins? on: July 17, 2011, 04:21:05 AM
The wallet doesn't hold any coins, the coins are in the blockchain, the wallet only got the keys needed to spend them
1067  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the value of BTC going up or the value of the dollar just going down? on: July 17, 2011, 04:19:39 AM

1068  Other / Off-topic / Re: New BitCoin Comic on: July 16, 2011, 11:48:24 PM

1069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If national firewalls go up on: July 16, 2011, 08:50:03 PM
Would international airtravel also be forbidden? And would the US finally manage to close down it's land borders?

If the answer to either one is no, the blockchain could still get updated both ways via sneakernet, you would have to raise the threshold to confirm a block getting cracked and transfers being cleared, but overall not much would change (in regards to Bitcoin, other things in the Internet would have significantly more issues).
1070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FirstBits.com - remember and share Bitcoin addresses on: July 16, 2011, 08:23:11 PM
You can transfer a firstbit the same way you can transfers a regular bitcoin address, either send the whole wallet file or the keypair for the address
1071  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - Phoenix 1.5 and new, faster poclbm on: July 16, 2011, 08:03:00 PM

1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't trust deepbit, but how come so many trust it? on: July 16, 2011, 04:31:05 AM
Didn't [Tycho] (the guy that runs Deepbit) paid back from his own pocket more than a hundred BTC when someone had their accounts there compromised and lost the money they hadn't withdrawn yet,or somthing along those lines?
1074  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - Phoenix 1.5 and new, faster poclbm on: July 16, 2011, 04:01:14 AM
The latest version is being accused by Comodo Antivirus as being malicious (it says the name of the threat is ApplicUnsaf.Win32.RiskTool.Bitcoinminer.A@228517640 ), WTF?!

edit:hm, now it isn't complaining about it anymore...weird...

1076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Very Peculiar Problem Receiving Bitcoins (expert analysis needed) on: July 16, 2011, 12:49:51 AM
Are you sure that address is in the wallet your client is using?
1077  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone else using a desk/table fan to help cool your GPU's? on: July 16, 2011, 12:41:53 AM
Is the power consumption of big fans still worth using them instead of fans made specificly for computer use?
1078  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: When something seems too good to be true... on: July 16, 2011, 12:35:33 AM
Is there a time limit after paying for doing a chargeback on Paypal? If yes, then you could explain to the buyer that in order to avoid scams you need to wait for the payment to clear the time limit before sending them the stuff
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is This Bitcoin Weekly Comic Crap? on: July 16, 2011, 12:31:18 AM
As long as you enjoy doing them, keep'em coming, even if people think it's crap.
1080  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should individuals have the right to build weapons of mass destruction? on: July 16, 2011, 12:18:48 AM
I was thinking of the big ones that can single-handedly trigger a nuclear winter or at the very least disrupt climate patterns in a global scale
