I could be mistaken, but think they disabled the functionality in the forum due to abuse
802  Economy / Services / Re: WTB: a "virus" on: September 05, 2011, 02:53:13 AM
I don't have much to contribute; but i felt like saying i find it interesting you want an automated self-destruct with remote disarming; it's not everyday you see somthing with self-destruct mechanism outside of a scifi setting.

Hm, what if instead of producing an irrecoverable crash, you just had your system running in an encrypted partition, and when the alarm is tripped it just rebooted? This way the attacker would still have no way to read your data (even if they just pulled the power cable before the data could be shredded, in hopes of reading the disks with another machine) but you wouldn't have much trouble getting your machine running again once it's safe again.
803  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go again, bitcoin exchange rates have been doing just fine on: September 05, 2011, 01:59:44 AM
that's nothing new, unfortunatly too many people don't keep up with the facts; thanx for bringing more people up to speed Smiley
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized internet - and what it could mean For Bitcoin on: September 05, 2011, 01:05:41 AM
Some things i wouldn't want to leave a third party machine process for me, and some things would just be too laggy if they aren't processed locally.

Zombie memes FTW

Good memes never die
807  Economy / Speculation / Re: $/BTC Time Series Analysis on: September 05, 2011, 12:46:47 AM
...

...But my point is: How should anyone in here be able to predict the future ? You just can't do that.

...
Isn't trying to predict the future pretty much the goal of chod's approach?

Nope, haven't you heard? This is Sparta.
809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins disappeared from my client on: September 05, 2011, 12:02:08 AM
Are you sure you got the latest version of the client?
810  Other / Off-topic / Re: Know Thy Enemy of the Bitcoin - Message from Somethingawful to everyone here on: September 05, 2011, 12:00:41 AM
What i have to say will probably be lost here, but i'll say it anyway 'cause i feel like it.

We have nothing to gain by antagonizing them; even in the hypothesis they can't harm us, we still have nothing to gain. My advice, leave them be and move on.
811  Economy / Speculation / Re: $/BTC Time Series Analysis on: September 04, 2011, 11:51:40 PM
Might never go back to $30.
And you might get hit by a meteor while you're laying on the ground convulsing after getting hit by a lightning while you were celebrating winning the lottery.
812  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do sadistic freaks always fly their airplanes around 50ft above the ground? on: September 04, 2011, 11:41:39 PM
I'm surprised there hasn't been any suggestions of flying kites or RC aircrafts in the path as revenge; i mean not even a mention of high powered blinding pocketable laser emitters? Just when i thought i shouldn't have any hopes for the decency of internetfolk...
813  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cheaper In Bitcoins on: September 04, 2011, 11:25:17 PM
For the symbol, if you don't wanna use an image or make your own custom font to use the b'at (my av pic here), i would recomend you use Ƀ (or the lower case version ƀ); from all the proposals involving symbols already present in Unicode this one is one of the best IMO

(for more on the topic of choosing a symbol, check https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bitcoin_symbol and the related threads)
814  Economy / Speculation / Re: $/BTC Time Series Analysis on: September 04, 2011, 10:35:24 PM
I know your model looses too much accuracy as distance from the present increases, i won't hold it against you if the data is way off; but i'm curious, what is the earliest, the latest, the average, and the best guess date when it says Bitcoin will reach 30 bucks again right now?
815  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Truth about Satoshi? on: September 03, 2011, 03:34:14 AM
Nah, Satoshi is Skynet, it needs an anonymous plausibly deniable way to buy all the ore and shit to build all those shiny toys
816  Economy / Services / Re: I'll try to draw anything you ask, you decide how much (if anything) to pay. on: September 03, 2011, 03:20:51 AM
Some minor progress:

817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fiat Advertising - Earn BTC for every Bitcoin advertising dollar. on: September 02, 2011, 01:20:00 AM
Do i need to remind anyone of our "Do Not Feed The Trolls" signs?
818  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Internet billionaire donates $1.25 million to create libertarian islands on: September 02, 2011, 01:17:12 AM
They might even send a team or two of their own
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fiat Advertising - Earn BTC for every Bitcoin advertising dollar. on: September 01, 2011, 06:09:20 PM
I scanned my $1 bills on my flatbed scanner, but it refused to scan the $5 bills!  I have no idea why, it kept saying "the original has not be set correctly".  What the hell does that mean?!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EURion_constellation
i can't find any mention on the web of that sentence (even if i replace "be" with "been")...
820  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: How to get Loans - IBB on: August 28, 2011, 09:13:38 PM
I've just realized somthing; wouldn't selling debt allow scammers to get loans and then buy their own debt and keep the difference?
