301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can we make a coin/hardware that will go the poor, in the third world on: May 06, 2013, 07:21:35 PM
Well, sneakernet has bigger bandwidth than broadband internet; the latency sucks though...

How about including a cheap camera inside the case, as a physical source of randomness, using somthing like LavaRnd to interface with it?

Fear is a natural emotion, and can even be constructive. But when you surrender to it and make it the guiding principle of your life, terrible things happen.

Fear was useful when we were the weakest species on the planet. When there were things in the dark that could kill us and eat us. Now, we control the lightning, the fire. We have nothing to fear on this planet. Fear is of no use to a civilized race.

Quote from: Frank Herbert
I must not fear.
    Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing......Only I will remain.

The presence of fear is a good thing, but only if accompanied by the guidance of wisdom.

Could you add a pair of lines connecting the the lowest ask and highest bids to their respective previous values please? I think it would look nicer that way.

Does anyone know if this is under US or Japanese jurisdiction?

I believe it was filed in the US, though I may be wrong. It does get somewhat problematic to file a lawsuit internationally, though Japan is one country where there are at least fewer barriers than in some other countries.
Doesn't the contract specify they agree to use Washington as the jurisdiction for any dispute between them?

Highly disabled: don't talk, can't walk, without work, life and death rely on god.

Please excuse my bluntness, but does any of your disabilities prevent you from understanding what the topic of a thread is?

Cool project!  CoinFunder.com is still alive and kicking. Growing every day!
Was it called BitStarter before or is that another one?
308  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Piper - A hardware-based paper wallet printer and so much more on: May 04, 2013, 04:24:51 AM
You should stick this on kickstarter  Tongue
Wasn't there a Bitcoin based kickstarter thing? Is it still alive? And is it trustworthy?

Não adianta muito ter uma carteira off-line se ainda existe o risco de alguém adultera o banco de dados e fazer parecer que o dinheiro dos outros é dele...
310  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Lojban on: May 04, 2013, 12:10:32 AM
is it legit at all?
What do you mean?
311  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [PRÉ-ANÚNCIO] Exchange Brasileiro de Bitcoins, Bitfication! on: May 04, 2013, 12:08:46 AM
Vcs tem um histórico das mudanças feitas nesse banco de dados protegido de maneira a impedir o passado de ser reescrito mesmo se um atacante tenha acesso físico ao servidor?
312  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Florida schoolgirl Kiera Wilmot facing felony charges for science experiment on: May 03, 2013, 09:23:57 PM
WTF? Jailed for a Diet Coke and Mentos bomb?
313  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [PRÉ-ANÚNCIO] Exchange Brasileiro de Bitcoins, Bitfication! on: May 03, 2013, 06:13:22 AM
Além do lado tecnico (incluindo backups, segurança da cold wallet etc), não se eskeça de cuidar do lado legal e do fiscal tbm. Seria uma merda se o site caisse pq atraiu a atenção do Leão ou violo alguma lei bancaria etc.
314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do you think bitcoin will drop to? on: May 03, 2013, 06:07:32 AM
It's going to drop alright, to the Moon!
315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 03, 2013, 02:13:46 AM
Alleged incompetence aside, the Gox people seem to be nice people (at least the ones i've dealt with). It doesn't make me happy at all if things are really going in this direction :/
316  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 02, 2013, 11:21:34 PM
What if instead of 3d, you did it 2d, like your if that 3d graph was viewed from top-down straight, but coloring the bid and ask with red and green, varying the intensity (or brightness) instead of moving up and down, and coloring the "channel" between both sides in blue (also with intensity/brightness, but in proportion to how much it changed from the previous range)?
317  Economy / Speculation / Re: welcome to 2011, where sr affects the price of btc. on: May 02, 2013, 04:55:24 PM
Didn't the price go down due to a hoax about Gox being raided by the gov?
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 02, 2013, 08:56:07 AM
Anyone else having trouble logging into Gox right now or is it just me? (going to bed right now, hopefully things will be back to normal when i wake up)
319  Other / Off-topic / Re: What programming languages do you know? on: May 02, 2013, 03:12:43 AM
Most of the time i suck at making myself learn. There were a few exceptions though. When i was a kid i learned QBasic (and thanx to that, plain Basic as well), later on i managed to learn  PIE (or whatever the language used in GlovePIE is called), LSL, a bit of VB, and i guess that is about it. I do know a little bit of Python, but not enough to be able to do anything more useful without checking the documentation; have tried many times to start learning it (among other stuff) but my brain is a trainwreck. But i do got some general knowledge about programming that lets me kinda be able to read many languages and have a decent idea what the program is doing (unless it's too obfuscated or too complex).
320  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What's the marginal cost of producing ASIC on: May 02, 2013, 03:00:50 AM
My guess is they're extremely overpriced to compensate how much the manufacturers would profit by just keeping the stuff and mining themselves.
