161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 23, 2024, 10:34:44 AM
Crazy game 2 between the Lakers and the Nuggets. Everyone thought the Lakers are gonna steal the game 2 as they lead 20 pts at some pt in the 3rd quarter, but the Nuggets didn't give up, was able to establish momentum in the 4th. Though they did not take the lead, but Murray just made a buzzer beater to beat the Lakers by 2 pts.
Man, it looks like the Lakers really stand no chance against the Nuggets. They have not won against them for 2 years straight now lol.
Davis was almost perfect in the 1st half but totally disappeared in the 2nd half.
It looks the Lakers' chance to win this series is by miracle lol.
Crazy indeed. It was the game of Lakers and they're on the lead but then Nuggets did managed to get close to their lead and Lakers fell short with that. The most clutch on this match is Jamal Murray's buzzer beater. Actually, it was an overtime already but the advantage was on Nuggets because they're the last shot and if ever Jamal misses it then the game proceeds to the overtime. That was actually a sad lose for the Lakers. Everyone really have thought that it's going to be a tied series but, as long as there's time then the game is still on. They should have covered all of the outside shooters including Jamal but they don't know who's going to take the last shot.

That last ball possession of Lakers on Lebron James, he shouldn't just go into three points since it's going to be win or overtime for them. He should have just got close near to the ring and shoot on the paint but he didn't, he thought that three would go in but in that crucial time, he should decided and made a better decision. In the end, it was good hands of Jamal.

I guess that we're going to see history again, this Jokic-Murray tandem is still underrated despite that they've won the finals last season. The Denver Nuggets is becoming great again and I'm sure that more fans are going to enjoy the third game as it's the do or die game for the Lakers but we'll see if they're going to turn the tables from 0-2 to 3-2 but it's most unlikely gonna happen.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 22, 2024, 01:50:17 PM
Nowadays everyone uses new strategies to increase their income and arrange advertisement. But not everything should be advertised. Especially gambling.
Nah, everything can advertised nowadays even the NSFW. You'd see it still in social media because they can't filter everything and they can't remove them on an instant. So even if they've got rules and might just remove the ads but they have to get reported for them to remove it. But as long as it's not yet removed and reported, there are audiences that will see that ad and especially those that are not into this thing might potentially see it because that's how social media works and random stuff might appear on your news feed.

Because through this a minor will end up gambling with wrong decisions.
This is true, they'll be able to see those ads even if they don't want to because that's the power of advertising in all of the platforms that we're using nowadays. And that influences the decision of those that will be seeing those ads, otherwise it is them and their actions will make them addicted but the attraction came from the marketers and advertisers.

It is not always possible to solve this matter by applying the law if no one corrects himself. Although there is no restriction on such advertising in countries where gambling is legal, such advertising campaigns must not be allowed in countries where gambling is conducted unofficially but there is no official legalization. Advertising is fine for those who are fit for gambling but it will have a big negative effect on those who are still underaged. This is not an individual problem but a problem for a nation. I think such ads should be stopped to keep minors safe.
As for those countries that don't allow gambling, they have a lot of rules about it and they're able to monitor those ads.
163  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much pressure on the male child on: April 22, 2024, 12:58:48 PM
We all deserve to live, good thing that my parents didn't put pressure on me and I've done a lot of crazy stuff on my teenage days. There were not that much words of encouragement on how successful I should be when I grow up and become a family man. But, it's all natural when I've come to realize them all because I've seen the truth and situation of my life and that's why it made me realize that I need to work my ass of and become successful. I think that I am still far from that actual success but I am happy with my life and that can be considered as a success right?

Because with what we know, success is being defined by money, career and wealth. But on these days, life is tougher and even you've got those but if your mental health isn't doing well then it all means nothing to your life even you're the wealthiest person in world. I've got peace, health, a happy family and whatever I can wish for. So, the younger ones that are also here, do not pressure your life. Find your purposes and work for your dreams.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in a casino's bankroll...Still worth it in 2024? on: April 22, 2024, 11:44:50 AM
I guess these tokens belong to decentralized casinos, right? I think there's a higher chance of making profits in a centralized casino than a decentralized one. After all, centralized casinos are the ones dominating the gambling industry. Our options of investing into a casino's bankroll are limited. The only ones I could find are Bustadice, Bustabit, and Bitvest. They aren't as big as the one under my sig, but it's better something than nothing.
Nope, they don't belong to decentralized casinos but they belong to the known centralized casinos as for fun token, it's owned by freebitco.in and for BFG, it's owned by betfury. So, if you think that you can earn more with the centralized tokens, then that should be your choice for them because they're actually from the centralized casinos that are known in here. And those that have you mentioned are the ones known to have the bankroll investments from the forum, I'm not sure about the other platforms outside the forum.

With BTC constantly going up in price, we should be able to obtain massive returns in our bankroll investment over the long term. The high network fees is a dealbreaker, though. Especially when you want to deposit/withdraw in/out of the casino. Crypto.Games accepts altcoins, unlike the sites mentioned previously. But it stopped accepting bankroll investments for some reason. Maybe someday they'll change their mind? Cheesy
We can't tell but with the logic returns with the bankroll investments is that, if you're going to invest big on them then your return is going to be big as well. And the ones that have invested early like from 2018 onwards, then they were the ones that are in greater gain now. Not just with the price of Bitcoin but also with the profit that they've made from investing into the bankroll of any of those. But, AFAIK, only a few from here have invested into it and got to tracked them.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any alternative sports gambling platforms? on: April 22, 2024, 09:48:12 AM
Basically, you can check every casino/sportsbook that you can see from our signatures. You can start out with the ones that you are wearing right now and if that doesn't satisfy you, you can go ahead and check the others for your reference. When you're done with them, you can also check stake's list of sports that are unpopular. They've got the top sports but if you hover through their "All sports" tab, this is what's going to show you, the other unpopular sports are there so, it might be a good reference for your choice and option.

@arallmuus & @passwordnow
Thank you for the reminder for those like myself who are not following dota2 tournament schedule for the season.
You're welcome, I'll continue to update most of the games for dota 2 and if I also dive into other esports, I'll do so too.

Ready your horses, ESL One Birmingham is going to start in about 11 hours from now. The matches are all set and we're going to have a three-day group stages. Get ready for some Dota 2 actions again everyone.  Smiley

That's a lot of games in 3 days. I'm going to watch Falcons closely and see whether they can close this tournament in the top 3. They showed strong potential in the Elite League only falling behind XG who were the favorites to win. That's also a nice bracketing, and I have high hopes that this team can come out on top against SR, Talon, and BB. Liquid can honestly put up a fight or even shut ATF and his mates, but the rest of those teams can be easy work for Falcons and give them a better placement in the main stage.
Falcons is not complete on this tournament as Malr1ne didn't managed to get his visa to Birmingham and that's why Sumail is going to stand-in for him which is a good substitute as well. Too many teams that we've missed watching all of these times and they are going to participate again. While for Falcons and XG, we might see them have their rematch on the playoffs but not with the group stages as they're part of groups A and B. That's just so close but it's interesting still because there's still two chinese teams. I've just noticed that the bracketing isn't that long and that's because there are only 12 participating teams. So, this is just going to happen for 7 days but, that's enough to have some good dota 2 for the entire week.

168  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: April 21, 2024, 10:34:36 PM
I agree about that, before I am not fond of insurances but I've seen that people's lives are just like mists that can easily be seen today but gone on an instant. That's how short our lives are and that's why for those that are looking into it as just another expense, soon as you grow older you'll realize how important it is to have life insurance. You're even getting house and car insurances and why not get one for yourself, right?
That's how important it is but the problem now is about the claims when that happens, some people have shared their experiences on how to claim those eligibility when the insured person is gone and they're now in need of the money. Well, it's a case to case basis, some are success stories but many aren't for which this also stops a lot of people to get their own life insurances.

We have to be very careful while picking the insurance plans whether it's health or life because the agents will sell us the plans that's profitable for them but it's not the best plan which always have some loops that benefits then insurance companies. We need to give little more attention and read all the details mentioned so that we are paying for something that can be useful when it's indeed.
Well, they're selling agents and they're for the point of just selling and it won't matter to them anymore as they catch you as their customer and they get the sell. While you as a customer, the after sales and claims is the problem at most times. That's why you are right by finding the right agents and the ones that will assist you even after the sell. After sales and claim of these insurances are hard to do when you're no longer connected with the agent or when they change career but I believe someone will still be able to assist you. Those that are still working with the insurance company that you've availed the insurance product. I've read a lot of problem during the claims and I've read as well the good ones that has been assisted by their agents so, there is always 2 sides of the stories that we're reading and watching. It's best to decide and be firm with what you'll avail and whom the person that you're going to work with for your insurance. Because if you choose the right one, you'll have no problem about the claims later if you've been communicative with him/her.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's in For Altcoins after the Halving? on: April 21, 2024, 02:30:25 PM
Do you think the rally of altcoins will start now or we should continue with our trades like nothing happened?
Whether there's halving or none, you keep doing what you're doing. As for me, I've been holding and as well as doing some trades and as well as accumulation. I'm also waiting for the altcoin season but I am not leaning towards it with full hope because no matter what you're aiming on this market as of the moment, what matters is on how you're going to react every time the market pumps and dumps. There's actually no season for it to react because it's like a normal day whenever a pump or dump happens. So, if your strategy is leaning towards to the market after this halving, you've been patient and you shouldn't miss the opportunity when the market has recovered a lot from the most recent dump.
It's without a doubt that the halving will impact the altcoins a lot but, you do you and keep doing what you've started from the beginning even before the halving has come.
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving is hours ago. Will you hold your BTC to April 2028? on: April 20, 2024, 11:10:05 AM
Will you hold your bitcoins to 2028?
Yup, no exit plan.

Bitcoin block rewards now is 3,125 BTC and after 2028 halving, it will be 3,125/2 = 1,5625 BTC.

After the 5 epoch completes, 96,875% of all bitcoins in total supply will be available in circulating supply.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Controlled_supply

Now Bitcoin already has Stock-to-Flow rate is smaller than Gold.
And that's going to make Bitcoin scarcer for which many are starting to realize on how rare it is going to be to own 1 BTC in the future. So, if you're one guy that realized that too early and you've got plans to stay on this market for so long. All you have to do is to hold and accumulate while you can but, if you see some opportunities and moments of making some profit then don't be too unselfish to yourself. If you think that you deserve to have then all you have to do is to take profits just as how you're already to DCA. But 4 years from now, that's going to be another long wait if we're looking forward with that. And here's the thing, it's like yesterday that 2020-2021 have passed.
171  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: April 20, 2024, 09:17:27 AM
We do really have that famous line;
"It's better to have something you might need one day but don't need yet than to need something that you don't have."

This just a single line of word on which you would really be able to realize that this is something that would really be a crucial thing and something that you would
really be needing to consider. You would really be finding it useful, although we wont really be wishing for some accidents but just like you have said that there's no guarantee
that we wont really be able to experience any emergencies in our entire life span. So better to get prepared or ready on whatever comes.
I agree about that, before I am not fond of insurances but I've seen that people's lives are just like mists that can easily be seen today but gone on an instant. 172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: THERE ARE TWO THINGS INVOLVED on: April 19, 2024, 09:56:09 PM
If you win back your money, then you're safe, but if you lose, there are two things involved. It's either you accept you've been defeated and walk away with whatever you're left with in your account/bankroll or you decide to chase your loss by doubling your usual stake so you can win and recover the ones you've lost with just one single bet and then retire for the day.

If you accept defeat and walk away, then you're safe, but if you say NO and decide to go in harder, there are still two things involved. It's either you get lucky, win and manage to recover your losses and then run away or you lose the bet once more and lose more than you planned to lose that day.

If you win the bet and run away, then you're safe but if you lose again, there are still two things involved. It's either you finally realize that the whole loss chasing is pointless and will only lead to more losses or you become more desperate and frustrated and then decide to go again, this time with a much higher stake or even decide to go all in with everything you've got to make the final kill.
These are a must when you don't want the casino to take back your money. If you win some money then make sure that you're able to secure them. If you've lost a lot and you're okay with that defeat, then you don't need to be emotional because you've lost that much and just accept it and go away and gamble some other day again. And mostly, if you've won with your bets, that's all you need to think of, to make your money be safe and put it somewhere else like buying bitcoin or any other crypto so that it won't be taken back to you. Because if you're going to gamble that again then it's likely that you'll be losing that money and there's nothing left to you anymore. And much worse if you'll be using another amount of money for you to recover those losses because no matter what happens to you, you'll want to take it back but if you're the 2nd category on this quote then much better.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 19, 2024, 08:56:25 PM
Fortunately, I have never made a transaction using Bitcoin at a merchant, to be honest, the fee charged for processing a Bitcoin transaction is currently very fluctuating, what if in an urgent situation, I definitely don't want to have to carry out the transaction
You don't to spend to merchants just for doing small transactions. Like the payments in the campaigns and when you've decided to spend them as you've received your weekly reward, that's already considered a small but it's not that encouraging at all when you see that the lowest fee sometimes goes from $2 to $10 and there were times that it's been on $20. So just always monitor the fees when doing that and avoid spending a lot when it's not necessary.

but even if I want to make transactions with bitcoin then I will only choose to do it with the lightning network, I am also quite active in using bluewallet, it is definitely safe to transact bitcoin without having to worry about high fees
Bluewallet is a good one and supports LN and this is what many haven't done yet in terms of transactions whether it's on the merchants or just a normal transfer. LN is cheaper and faster and there's no doubt with it but there's a lesser advertisement on it and that's why it's not yet known by many Bitcoin holders and the newbies don't also have an idea about its existence.

I don't think that there's still future for him on this scene and he should just step away or go live stream and do some coaching to the pub gamers that he'd be useful with. Or, he can do casting, actually there's so much more for a professional esports player to go on if he doesn't any space anymore on any team because of the recent issues that he's involved with.
That's true, he burned a bridge with what he did, and from what I know he still streams his pub games (on Kick). Maybe he secured a streaming deal of some sort with them.
I don't know how deals goes on with kick but isn't it that everyone can stream there anytime they wish or they need a contract first before they're able to stream? I just visited the website and it seems that the website's most view is coming from gamblers having a real time viewers of around 54k. I also see a familiar there whom is Admiral Bulldog. So for Taiga, he's going nowhere but probably just to stream his games and stays in the pub games but for sure some other random players there might just humiliate him in the chats and he can't do shit anything about it because of the involvement that he's in with the 322 that he decided to do. Too many of these pro athletes, esports and not have been caught with what they've done without thinking of their long term goal on their careers but, it is what it is and they've done it already.

News about this huge tournament called the Esports World Cup by the ones who brought the Riyadh Masters to fruition.

~
Get ready this summer for some new action on the dota2 scene! Cool
Yeah, this is the biggest in the history so far CMIIW. I've posted this on the other thread but it seems that our fellow dota 2 folks have already seen that without reacting in here and there.  Grin

Anyway, I just want to mention about Taiga's situation now that he's got kicked out of his latest team Leviatan and was replaced by Xepher. And as we all know, it's about his latest issue about 322 (let's mention this term again) for the first blood bets and he's betting on his own against being first blooded by the enemies. Unless there's a team that will still trust him and won't do shit against them for doing some bets. It's just sad that he'd became a part of those gambling syndicate that rotates somewhere in EEU but this isn't just rotating there because it's a global issue.
176  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you feel that the global economy is declining? on: April 18, 2024, 10:15:00 PM
No, his salary didn't went down but it is inflation that cost his salary to be down. This is a normal thing for most of the workers nowadays, whatever your work is and if you didn't received that much increase then the value of your salary has gone down compared to the prices of the commodities today. It's sad that when it should be a continuous rise against the inflation rate for the salary of every hardworking person but not every company can do that as it also depends on the revenue that they're having. But many of them are abusive despite that the economic situation of many that are experiencing hardship and if the company is doing good, they should give the random raise to all of their employees that deserve it so that they will have at least a mark up or increase against the nonstop cost of inflation.
The company has nothing to lose, they know that the employees already fine with their jobdesk, environment and colleagues, so they will not going to resign because for some people they value mental health over money. If the employees resign, there always be a lot people want to get this job, it makes the former employees can't go back if they're not happy with the new company.

This case is really hard and you can't wish the boss will be kind to the employees, working abroad in low populated country is better.
I agree about that going to countries with low population as the demand there is high for workers. And with that, it is setting the salary of the most to be in that kind of expected salary of yours. It's a fact that when a company wants to fire you, you'll just get fired for whatever reason they'd do, like cost cutting, underperformance or any of the reason that they can set. It's hard for those employees to absorb that especially if they've been loyal to them for a very long time but, they can't do anything about that if the company decides to. However, for the past decade, I've seen companies although they're only few but they do value their employees and takes care of them as a real family. That's why for somebody who has got type of company, I understand that it's not all about the salary why they're staying but it's about the treatment that they're getting.
177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not a lifetime job. on: April 18, 2024, 01:49:05 PM
When I first started trading, I suffered huge losses due to many wrong decisions.  But since I gradually gained good experience in trading, I did not face any big loss. But we always start trading with good experience in the market. But we can get good money from trading and if there is no wrong decision we risk big loss.
I think the whole point of whether you're full time or plans to do this until you die is not even a problem. And most of the traders are good except those that are starting out and to find out if a trader is good is not about his big gains but with how much he's losing. If a trader is able to minimize the losses then that's a sure thing a category that trader is a good one. Minimizing your losses and cutting them is a hard pill to swallow when you think that you're good with your trades. But if you're not able to do that at the right time then the mitigation of your losses isn't done properly. I may agree that trading isn't a lifetime job and just like any other job that you can be replaced anytime. For a trader, it is not his job forever because once he's able to save up money and able to invest in many assets and businesses, it's a big possibility that he don't want to be tired anymore with the market and just want to have a rest forever with it and I think that many traders are thinking like that.

179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that Bitcoin is no longer digital cash? on: April 17, 2024, 11:35:48 PM
I ask this question because I wonder what Bitcoin will become now that the financial institutions and meme coin advocates have taken over.

If Bitcoin is not peer-to-peer electronic cash then how do you see it?
It's still the same, it's just that there are more adoption that has came to it. Aren't we happy about that? Bitcoin is for everyone, small fish, big fish or whatever are you. As with these financial institutions that have big names and reputation in the market that they're roaming around, they've added flavour and capitalization to the market and that's why we're having some quick gains as for the pricing of Bitcoin. But to answer your question then mostly will agree that it is more of a store of value which have being done by the most of us.

There can be more of it for its use case like the normal p2p transactions if there are more merchants that accepts it. But one problem that we're dealing again is with the high transaction fees that it is having right now. That's one reason why many don't think that it's good as a p2p alternative from the fiat and digital transactions that we're having together with the credit/debit card payments. And to give the idea of the others, there are offchain transactions where merchants and buyers kind of agree to have without fees and lesser waiting time because transactions are in instant. Again, that's only for off chain transactions or if they both have the same wallet which is common in exchanges.
180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of eSports Betting on: April 17, 2024, 10:41:28 PM
Esports betting is rising thanks to the companies and platforms that have been making it strong due to the tournaments and higher prize pool that they're sponsoring. If it's not with these sponsors and platforms that have been investing into esports, there won't be any extension of it in the gambling scene. But since it has become competitive and we've got esports athletes and professionals as well, it's ideal for the gambling industry to have this acceptance of the esports industry to be part of the betting industry and merge them with it. Although some dark practice has been done in the past and who knows if there are still in existence, it's very likely that this $1B dollar industry for esports merges into the gambling industry is totally a lot. The contribution of the gaming scene and making it as a competitive industry have been attracting a lot of investors and with the help of the bookies sponsoring tournaments, teams and players, they're contributing to the growth of it just like what stake has been doing for every sport that they're sponsoring with.

I believe not. The rising popularity of ESports Betting is more because of the growing audience/interest in Esports, which makes those companies like NVidia support and sponsor many tournaments. Those companies would not sponsor tournaments of different games if there was no audience, and no growth potential.
I believe that I've said the same thing, so it's like two the same thing that the rise of audience is due to the sponsorship that they're seeing that these companies are helping with sums of money invested on the industry. But the rise alone is from the audience from the actual esports scene and not with the betting scene that's visible nowadays.

They are also doing it for their own revenue and the advertisement of their company.
I agree, it's an investment for them and that's why they're willing to sponsor millions of dollars for every tournament that they're organizing. And not just that, with all the teams and players that they're sponsoring alone for the logos that will be displayed to their jerseys and in-game name, it's the same as what we see in football, basketball and any other sports. This literally is a growing industry and there's gotta be more as everyone is becoming more interested to the growth of esports worldwide and more bigger companies and organizers are checking in here just like what I've posted recently about the biggest prize pool in history that will happen in Riyadh.
