921  Other / Politics & Society / Re: freedom of expression on: October 31, 2023, 09:34:26 PM
Every country has their own ways of delivering and describing of what freedom of expression is. But if it has come to an extent that your opinion and expression is also becoming noticeable, much better to keep quiet. I know that this is the right of everyone and if your country has a side to go along with what is happening globally especially on the wars then it is better not to take any side or you just keep your opinions for now. Or if you're going to express what you feel, then you have to make sure that you're not figured out if the government you have is too strict about these matters.

While I believe that it is a suppression to your freedom of expression, but know that there's always a limit and the more you talk, the more mistake you might say. Censorship happens and that's why even if you fight for your freedom to express, you might be silenced or just be in silence.

922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: October 31, 2023, 12:38:35 PM
When someone is lonely and tries to look for ways to release that loneliness, it's okay to gamble just to release that stress hormones that you've got and when someone says that he's not into fun as he gambles, it doesn't make him an addicted gambler.

I would only say someone is supposed to gamble while in the company of other people they appreciate, in case we talk about loneliness. Why gamble while one is completely alone and fully cope by oneself? It can only make things worse in the long term, in my opinion.
When one feels loneliness, the best way to counter or to feel any better is having some contact with other people. Instead of video poker, it is better to go with live poker with others, instead dices on the computer, let us try willing dices with friends on their table.

It is also one of the reasons I try not to drink alone, it turns into an habit and before I realize, I would be becoming an unsocial drinker, rather than a social one.
That's right, things might become worse when you're on your own and you're feeling lonely. Emotion plays a big factor with the results of our bets. Because if we're just feeling lonely and we tend to gamble, you'll never know what's going to be the outcome of it. But if you're on the right thinking even if you're lonely, just prove that to yourself and see if you'll get some good results.

I definitely won’t recommend gambling when you are stress or lonely since it can double or triple the pain you are experiencing if you manage to loss in gambling. Gambling is a double edge sword which can give you happiness when won and at the same time pain when lose. Casino has a house edge advantage which means the chance of losing money is high so it’s really dangerous for someone mentally unstable.

It’s better to hangout with friends or treat yourself a fancy dinner to spend your money instead of gambling just to kill your loneliness. Gambling is a fan activity if you are overall well so that you can enjoy the game.
While we do see gamblers that are trying to remove the stress that they have through gambling. It's very likely that they'll also have what you have said of tripling or doubling that feeling. Just don't do it when you feel that you're not going to make it or you just want to have fun. It's still important to look at yourself as you know yourself better and results do vary based on how you're feeling right now and the decisions that you'll do too.

By the way, have you already seen that Valve renamed Spirit Breaker to Team Spirit Breaker?
I haven't played yet but I have seen some posts about it giving honor to Collapse's winning game 3 hero which is Spirit Breaker. I think that's brilliant on the side of Valve that they're giving that appreciation to the champions. Maybe soon on the next TIs, we're going to see them rename again winning heroes to the teams that becomes a champion. The next big tournament post-TI is going to be the ESL Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. There are no teams yet that will participate on this tournament but I believe that strong teams will be invited to compete on this tournament and based on the info, there will be also regional qualifiers. The prize pool on this tournament is $1M which is another huge prize tournament where teams are going to prepare for. We're just waiting for the new announcement of Valve about the DPC points system because if it's still going to exist, there will be a huge distribution for the winners on this tournament.
924  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crypto does NOT fund terrorism on: October 31, 2023, 10:37:56 AM
It's always the case that whoever have this propaganda is going to spread the misinformation that they're, the terrorists are being funded through cryptocurrencies. They'll say that of course they can't use banks wherein it's obvious that terrorists have access to the banking system because they've got hands scattered all over in every place where they are operating. The problem with this tracing is that there's a secrecy law from the banks where they can't just open someone's account if there's no court order. We should accept it that no matter how good the entire crypto market shows to the world, there will always be this display and description about it that it's being used to fund terrorism, money laundering, illegal activities, drugs, etc. All of those will be directed to crypto as if the cash doesn't have something to do with those activities that they're harder to trace because there's no blockchain where they can follow the path of its transactions where it is being sent.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning Wisely: Strategies to Protect Your Bankroll on: October 30, 2023, 05:58:24 PM
In both situations, each of us have different approach as it depends on various factors.
Your financial situation, your preferences at that time or your emotional standpoint.
This is why each gambler has their own decision on this matter because we have varying reasons on why you are betting in the first place.
For those reasons that we've got, it is important to analyze what we're up to because if you're just a casual gambler and all you want to do is to have fun, there's no need to protect your bankroll as you're okay going all in and out as you gamble. By the looks of it that you've become wise with your gambling habits, you'll be more careful and calm as you have seen the bitter taste of losing and you don't want that to happen. As we decide to gamble, anything that seems to be working for you and all you want to do is to protect your bankroll, you'll do everything for it.

Since we gamble for different reasons it is good for us to stay safe in whatsoever game we are betting on to safe us from the stress of chasing loses which can attract loses to us if we are not so skilled with that. When we bet, there are different factors that can affect our bets and what we need to do is to always plan before betting and using a good strategy that would help us to make good project as a gambler. Luck can be a vital tool to our winnings that is why we need to study ourselves and know when we tend to be lucky in betting.
We have those measures that will make us safe but that doesn't give us the guarantee that we will be. It's like the alarm that we need to have when we gamble and it is going to make us remember that we have to keep ourselves safe and needs to protect the bankroll as we gamble. If you are able to do that from all of those strategies that you've learned then that's good and you'll make yourself impressed from it, there's no need to impress others but only to ourselves since it is our money that we're trying to protect.

Congratulations on your wins. I also thought that GG will prolong the series but it seems they just can't and maybe they're now feeling what other teams have felt against them before during the majors on how to beat them. It feels so good to see them get beaten honestly because they're dominating the entire year and major after major. I'm not a hater of it but when someone is just too good and unbeatable, you just want to see them get beaten and the ones beaten them is Team Spirit which is a strong team and had their own record now.

GG almost done the impossible which is winning the TI after an early place on the lower bracket. Team Spirit is just too OP while GG is already exhausted and play almost all their card in their sleeves since they have tons of match while TS is just waiting for them to finish.
No doubt that Team Spirit is broken. But it's good to see that both teams were like the strongest this season and I also think that GG was just too tired with all of the pressure and matches that they have gone through. However, it would have been a different story if they gone through the upper bracket prior to their match against Talon Esports on the decider match.

It’s still a good run for GG to become a grand finalist after an almost early elimination. It’s just TS is much better team and AFAIK GG never won against TS since they spike up their game on last few tournaments before TI.
Yes, that's still a good run for GG because they've done the impossible and still reached the grand finals through the lower bracket. With that, they can already consider themselves as one of the best teams and there is no argument with that. It is that with their picks and playstyle against Team Spirit, they're confused and not connected at all. Maybe that's the magic of being against Team Spirit. They're gonna make you confused all along the entire games.

we might have a quick 3-0 from Spirit
I am also thinking that they're about to get this straight 3-0

So did any of you ended up taking this as bet ? because I did  Smiley

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/10/30/TbfV9.png

Well overall I lost alot on football prior to this and I took LDG to win against GG as well so this pretty much helps me get back what I've lost with decent amount of profit as well. I thought GG would win the 3rd map after dominating Team Spirit since the early game but somehow they made it back and won straight 3-0.
Congratulations on your wins. No complaint from me although I would love to watch the game goes to the 5th map instead but I won my bet so yeah  Roll Eyes
Me too, we would have some good Dota to watch if the match happened to get up to the 5th map. But Team Spirit just ended it without any mercy given to Gaimin Gladiators and how many times did we see a swept already during the TI finals? I remember Team Liquid (former Nigma) did this.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: October 30, 2023, 04:25:58 PM
When someone is lonely and tries to look for ways to release that loneliness, it's okay to gamble just to release that stress hormones that you've got and when someone says that he's not into fun as he gambles, it doesn't make him an addicted gambler. What makes someone an addicted gambler is when he keeps on gambling even if he's got nothing anymore. Because gamblers tend to think of the money most of times even if they will say that they're only after the fun. It's a normal thing that a gambler will think only about the money because if you say that you just want to lose, you're wasting your time and money on it. Someone has got to say that he's got a lot of money and is okay to lose but, not all of us are like that. We gamble for money and we're not addicted because we know the limitations that we've got and is fairly okay to get into that reasoning whenever you gamble and even if you're lonely, it won't make you a gambling addict. And it's not just gambling that you are interested with when you gamble, there can be other things as well.
929  Economy / Economics / Re: choose an option on: October 30, 2023, 09:50:57 AM
Would prioritize the business first, i.e., item "e. $480,000 value business."
Why? Because this is the instrument you can influence, and you don't have to rely on fate and pumps, unlike other items where the idea revolves around "must go up in price" Smiley
But the profit - it can be invested in various assets.
That's my choice too. Having that valuation of a business means that business is quite big already. And that also means that it's operational and you get cost and expenses and revenue as well. Having that said, I'm able to help people that are working for that business if it means to be their boss if that's the option that I'll have to choose. All options are actually good but we have different point of view towards these matters. Some may just want to choose get that passive money for all of that 8 years but having a business that you'll get to grow could be there for the rest of our lives and not just your family will get better but also the employees that will be loyal and hardworking to that business. It is such a great feeling when you've got a successful business and you are with those people that have helped you get to the top and stayed with you through thick and thin.
930  Economy / Economics / Re: Steam drops support for 2 fiat currencies over their volatlity on: October 30, 2023, 08:02:37 AM
Other gaming companies like Sony(Playstation) might do the same if they can no longer cover the volatility from these countries. These companies of course have to maintain their business composure and despite that they've got players from these countries or regions, they need to prioritize the goal of the company. I just wish that Valve would recognize bitcoin again and as well as other cryptocurrencies as an alternative for these regions. They have a pilot run test from these countries to start and have it back with the crypto support and see if it's going to work on the people there so that they won't just have a few options but they'll also have a lot of options to make to pay for the games that they have. Anyway, despite the drop of support for these fiat currencies, gamers will always be gamers and as long as there are other payment options available on them, they'll use that to purchase games, in-game items and other Steam products.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: October 30, 2023, 07:28:36 AM
Many believe that gambling is for young people online as they need thrill and and fun. But I think that even old people can enjoy gambling. There should be any age to retire from gambling at all. One can do this activity and leisure time and thus it does not affect retirement related activities also.
I don't think that it's said for young people. It's more of people that have ways of living and source of income but we can agree that it is for every walks of life. And for the most active are the young ones because they're mostly the risk takers and they won't just stop from there when they're already active in gambling. And no one is forced to retire because anyone can stop and continue whenever they want, there is no required age when you want to gamble, as long as you want to gamble, that's it. But if you want to stop then that so be it.

But as someone starts to realize that it's just good to have fun during his retirement, it becomes risker at that point because who knows if a retired guy will have the urge to spend his retirement fund on gambling without knowing that he can be unstoppable with that despite of losing that's visible to his eyes. That is the part when a retired person might be triggered more when he's losing that much. He'll have that encouragement that he has his retirement money and he can continue whether people like it or not.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The International 12 [Dota 2, eSport] discussion thread on: October 30, 2023, 01:00:07 AM
Team Spirit is just too strong. A 3-0 streak for lifting that aegis. I thought that the 3rd game will be GG's but it's not. Drachyo was the problem and maybe he's already exhausted with all of these games. They've been with the most matches on this playoffs coming from the lower bracket and maybe he's just caught up with that. But I don't think that's really a problem because the thing here is, Team Spirit is just too strong. They're on their prime and all of their games were consistent, hands up to them. The team is well coordinated and that's why the matter of playing with synchronization and communication can change the result of the game. Having said with the last game, it seems that they're about to lose because GG has got the momentum but there is something wrong with them because they can't even take advantage of their lead. While Team Spirit is taking their recovery, yatoro's ck and collapse's spirit breaker has always been consistent with their farms despite the situation isn't favorable to them. We've got now another 2-time TI champion, Team Spirit although they've got a replacement of their roster but only one coming from TorontoTokyo to Larl. Larl also did well, he's even the one to lift the aegis because the other 4 has already lifted theirs in the past. Well done, this TI is now done and we've got a new hero Ringmaster. I am waiting for more tournaments again although it's not going to be TI this time, but there are more to come before this year ends. And the most awaited one, the gossips for most teams and switching of roster and players/teams.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: October 29, 2023, 11:37:25 PM
It is very hard to quit gambling, it takes time to minimize gambling but quitting totally is not an easy decision to take, this is why it is advisable for people with poor decision to avoid gambling don't even gamble because it's effect might ruin your life, remember a chronic gambler can do anything to gamble, even though it takes him to sell his valuable asset a lesser amount to gamble he wouldn't mind because he believe that he can replace one he win and even gamble more with the remaining profit,
That's where the struggle is, is on how they're going to avoid gambling when they just can't. Decisions are needed to be done wisely but even if we say so, that's just so hard for those gamblers that want to quit but they are having hard time as you've said, they're poor in decision making. Even you tell them that they need to avoid gambling so they won't be able become addicted on it and they'll avoid the future effects of being addicted, they can't. Because just as you have said, it takes time for someone to quit and when he does, that's how it's being given the moment to think that when they can means to say that they can. But if they can't, then that's the same as it is.

I will say quitting gambling is very difficult, this will occur by the grace of God that's if the person is ready and willing to change.
It is difficult but just like what people say about having the will and the way and that's also good when someone is getting aide from the above if they're religious. As some stories have said that it's an effective way to stop gambling, you may quit for today but make sure that you don't also get back when you see people are enjoying the games and winning some money.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: October 29, 2023, 11:18:58 PM
I don't win a lot with my bets so those taxation that's on certain amounts, I haven't done so. And I think the majority of the gamblers that are just lowkey or not so big gamblers, they don't have the time to do such filings of their tax because all they have is small profits that can be just from two digits to three digits in a month. But if I am like those lottery winners who have been winning like a hundred grand to millions in dollars, of course, and no doubt that I have to file for the tax because it's one of the gains that can be considered to be taxable. But if there is a rule that says that it is tax-free and non taxable then you got to enjoy the entire amount without paying the tax. And for the taxation, it's best to just have this coordination with the casinos but are they classified to be good connections with the government in terms of tax because many seem to be hiding a lot of wealth under the casinos.

Most of the gambler was the margin gamblers, the big gambler will be 4-5 percentage in all the gambling sites. So the low gambler winning also low based on their deposit.Only the gambler with more and more money from the gambling win need to pay the taxes. So the tax is not the big issue for the gamblers on the involvement to the gambling sites.
Yeah, I am one of those margin gamblers and it doesn't give me that much profits at all or whenever I make some profits just as you've said with that percentage, I also gamble it since I can afford to do so and what happens next isn't a secret that all of them are also being lost because I've decided to gamble them all.

From the margin gamblers, few will win the big money. So such people need to pay the taxes for the win.The high winning gambler doesn’t consider the taxes because they only paying the taxes to the government  from the winning money and not their own money.
This is true that only few will win such amounts and then that's why if you're also part of the margin gamblers based on the definition that you've given then that means that we're not that much in profits and we don't have issues in taxes because we don't have a lot of it compared to the big gamblers that are winning a lot. And on the latter part that you've said, it applies for both margin and big gamblers that we're all taxed based on our winnings of course and not with our personal money.

936  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: October 29, 2023, 10:39:17 PM
People running crypto projects are a business so why should we invest money in other's business and help others to grow their business where we can build our own business through hard work.
You're an investor when you invest money in other's businesses whether it's a crypto-related business/project or not. The thing with this kind of setup is that you're not stressed at all, you just invest money and wait for the project to get success. But just like making a business, being an investor is also a hard thing to think of. But if you think that you better make your own business, you need to exert all the effort and money on it unlike becoming an investor. Warren Buffett is one of the best investors in the world although he's got his own company that invests also in other businesses, that's what makes it good for someone who's an investor. No debate intended as we know that he hates Bitcoin but that doesn't make me hate him for all of his achievements that he's got. So, with this matter. You invest and you save time while the owners of the business where you invest are working hardly for you to also make a profit out of it but if we're specific on crypto projects, just as the traditional businesses, they've got chance of failing.

Such a demonstration of force by Spirit in first map of Grand Finals of Dota TI! If they will manage to keep up the pace for the rest of the series , we might have a quick 3-0 from Spirit and a second TI for this team who really  made GG looked like an easy team to defeat after GG simply demolished lower bracket and won 3 majors this year.  Shocked.
I am also thinking that they're about to get this straight 3-0 so that the match will end too easy for them and Team Spirit will become a 2-TI time champion.

They also need to figure it out how to stop Miposhka because it's clear that Yatoro cannot be stopped from farming like a monster  Grin
Actually what I have observed on the first map with the bans, it was Team Spirit that has banned most of the carry heroes. That's actually a good advantage for the Gaimin Gladiators already when they can focus on other heroes to get banned. The map 2 is starting now. I think Team Spirit knows how to tilt Quinn and he's already having a mental breakdown. LOL, this is what they get when most of the GG players don't even want to interact with their fans as they enter the dome. 2nd map bans as I am seeing it right now, it is Team Spirit that has banned the weaver. The drafting phase is executed very well by the Team Spirit and I think that silent is helping them a lot on this one. The first map with first pick weaver, probably confused GG. Now, the 2nd map, the first pick of Team Spirit is magnus, interesting that GG has given the best hero of collapse.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 29, 2023, 09:48:42 PM
First game in the grand finals was easily taken by Team Spirit. If you guys have watched the game, it's totally like all siding with Team Spirit. Props to all of them because they have played their roles very well. Yatoro with that weaver is really strong and quick farmer thanks to the Lone Druid of Ace that has given him +600 gold in the early game. That has helped the factor for quick farm and taking early items that will help him during early team fights as he backs. The visions and aggressiveness made by miposhka and mira have helped them scout and know the positioning of GG. Well, for me this is a total massacre and AFAIK Ace's Lone Druid is one of his best but Team Spirit just made it cute like he's a walking gold in the map and too squish with weaver's desolator. Map 2 is coming shortly so let's all wait for that to commence. Most of my bets still have lost but on this grand finals, I am sure that many of you are also going to put some bets before this TI ends. I want to see a map 5 on this game because this is like best of the best for this season for Dota 2.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: October 29, 2023, 08:43:05 PM
Gambling at home All gamblers must have knowledge of what they are doing. In a game where the gambler looks at his opponent, This is where it depends on someone bluffing in the game to get your money at the table.
This is for poker when you are just at home and enjoying gambling against your opponents. You can't see their faces but you know how to bluff against them. That's actually fun when you're doing that at most times because what you're doing is also being done by other gamblers who do enjoy doing that whilst they're at home.

All gamblers do not have a definite goal, they are just addicted to playing how to increase their income from gambling, hoping that today they will get a profit from gambling. If they get the opposite or lose, successful gamblers will continue to play and play again?
I don't think so. Most gamblers have goals and not only have their incomes up but also recover their losses. And that's why we see many of them are losing more because of how they're reacting to their losses. With the outcomes that are favorable to them, they're going to continue and even with the opposite, still, they're going to continue without thinking on how much they've lost and from there they are going to be classified as addicted gamblers when there seems to be no reason for them to stop and all they want to do is to continue.

At this point , I doubt anyone can stop Spirit for winning another TI right ?
No doubt that Team Spirit is like on the hybrid form and seems no one can stop them. And when I've watched the interviews of many other players that participated this TI, if there's one player that they'd like to ban, that's no other than yatoro. It's very likely that they're going to win their 2nd TI belt for the 4 of the roster and this is going to be the first TI for Larl.

I mean GG will surely defeat LGD and reach the finals but I still think Spirit is the better team overall.
We still have to see that if they'll be able to beat LGD. This is also a hungry team that on their region, it's been so long since they've taken the aegis. Well, it's just one hour away until we see the match happening for GG and LGD.

We also have some news from Dota 2 scene with Zai most likely retiring from Dota 2 pro scene and the scandal of fair play between Azure Ray and BetBoom seems to have moved on social media after last night some players refused to shake hands with each other ...Sad
I just hope that zai won't retire yet. It seems like I am getting old when I see most of these pro players retiring. I've known them for quite a while and then this. And for that BetBoom and Azure Ray, I think that '?' and BetBoom's chat before this TI or it was during the other tournament that Torontotokyo told on the chat that if they are scared of the BetBoom's roster if they're not with pure.
