You can't really judge people with what cars they own. If you'd take a look with the wealthiest people, they have fancy cars for sure but many of them are keeping their old cars too because what matters with that is the sentimental value that they'd kept and the struggle on their early journey which keeps them reminded on what they've gone through before. As for the salary of the professor, it is being determined by the university he's teaching and also the experience and probably certificates that he's taken along his professional teaching career. To be honest, I like to see most of the teachers earn more than what they're receiving now because they are the key of honing the next generation.
222  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to self exclude from anonymous gambling sites on: March 19, 2024, 08:11:56 AM
In order to avoid gambling you have to keep yourself within the rules but most of the gamblers go out of the rules while gambling and it becomes difficult for them to follow the rules.
What kind of rules? Rules that you set for yourself? I don't think that's even a good idea when you're at the peak of your gambling activity and then you'd going to remember some of your rules that you can't even follow. There's no sense in making a lot of it when you can't even follow one of them out of the many. And for that reason, whether you want to get excluded which you can do it manually, you are going to make a lot of excuses because the main thing is that you want to come back.

Even if you have gambling experience if you can't maintain your discipline then it will turn bad. So it is necessary to create a characteristic of yourself that you will express in front of people so that you do not have to stumble anywhere or get into any difficulty.
Yes, that's the key - discipline. Because if a gambler doesn't have his discipline anymore whether you set thousands of rules, you'll never gonna make it because you're the first one to violate all of them. It doesn't sound good at all when you're the sole creator of your own rules and even casinos have their own features of self exclusion and yet, you're always going to the opposite way of those rules.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: March 18, 2024, 05:54:21 PM
Maybe that's normal in some cultures that lotto outlet owners being looked just as a casual businessmen that's trying to put gambling as a business because the amounts that are being placed there aren't that much. Compared to the cockpit arena's, I think that the biggest bets are happening there and that's what making people crazy and breaking relationships after relationships. It's just hard to imagine that there's also this kind of treatment for the owners of various games and gambling houses for which they're just the same in terms of gambling.

Also, it depends on the type of community that's surrounding those areas. So, if there are those people that are part of that community and they're making some good relationship with the owner just like with the lotto outlet owner then they'd really give that kind of good impression to them. But I'm thinking about the same relationship and rapport from the cockpit arena owner. One thing is that maybe it's about the bias of everyone on who's they're going to treat properly and badly. With that, it's more of a personal attitude and we can't do anything beyond that.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 18, 2024, 04:55:56 PM
Maybe in the future that we'd go back to some traditional ways of investing with the casino that are also building their reputation. There's a win-win situation for most of them when they're also allowing their users to invest into their bankrolls. While there are still those casinos that does that but soon, it's going to be like a source of income for both of the owners and investors of the casinos. I am not speaking about the actual future where we see futuristic things about gambling but the typical approach of many gamblers that will turn into investors as well.

It's going to be easier for most of us because we knew how to take risk and it's not going to be a painful anymore when we've tasted bad endings with our risk taking for which many of it have happened as we gamble. Anyway, going with the futuristic approach, who knows if some smaller devices like watches will be programmed to get some access even without having the internet connection but because of satellite connection it is possible to connect for that specific brand that's releasing gadgets like that so you're free to really gamble everywhere you want to.
225  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to self exclude from anonymous gambling sites on: March 18, 2024, 03:54:49 PM
Personally wayback when I still don't have idea about Online gambling? yes we are doing this together fgoing to casino houses to relax enjoy and be drunk together in casino.
as actually there are free drinks while you are still betting, and this has been the practice we have gain over the years.
Yeah, there are complimentary drinks and snacks that you're free to take and that's also part of the casino's service for which will make you comfortable and that's why you'll stay there for so long. Compared to online casinos, we don't have this and we have to make our own drinks or just order before we gamble and drink that when we're already actually doing it. But the ambiance of the actual casinos are entirely different compared to just staying at home and gamble freely all day long. There are also pros about staying at home as there's no one going to disturb you, you won't have to deal with some drunk gamblers that are too naughty and can't control themselves.

now we are doing this together online at least we are all free of time.
Not all the gamblers online does it but we're all doing the same thing and that's to gamble and have fun. But those gamblers that have reached their peak and limit and can no longer stop themselves, when they have to request for self exclusion, that's a good sign that they've noticed their gambling activities and that has to stop or else they'd be problematic with themselves and will have to go through with another problem that they will generate that no one will be able to help them solve it but only themselves.
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 18, 2024, 02:57:17 PM
You have to keep your cool while you're gambling because if not, that's one of the fastest ways to just donate your money to the casinos. If you are there to gamble, have some fun and wins, all you have to do is always be on your mind. Be mindful at all times with your bets because your winning will also rely on your mood whether they're good or not by that time you have casted your bets. Like if you're greedy at that time of doing some bets, then it doesn't matter whether the odds are favorable or not but as long you are having that greediness within you, you are unsure with any outcome that your bets may provide.

That is the reason why making decisions and your mood are also connected. Don't make decisions when you are in bad mood because if you do that then it is associated with the results that you're going to do. Those bets that seems to be easy for you, they can result to some bad bets because you're not in your right thinking at that time when you've placed your money on those games or matches that you have been following. I agree with the threads about putting your time in gambling and when you don't have it, it's best to avoid doing it so that you are not in a hurry to place bets and make such decisions.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: March 18, 2024, 01:55:25 PM
Losing money and having a short rest time at the same time is a very bad experience.
Aside from not spending your must allocated time to gamble, gambling without having enough rest is also like going to work that you're not in full force and rest. I'm not comparing gambling and work but I am just comparing the state of being when someone does that when he's not having enough sleep. And that's why it's truly a bad experience when someone on that state gets to gamble and he's surely going to lose money and much better that he just take his rest and sleep than going to gamble and lose that bankroll.

In real sense, there's actually no free time for anyone, you can just create time for things base on your preference and priority. If gambling is one of them, you make time for it. The important thing is for you to spend your time wisely.
Hmmm, I somehow disagree. All of us have their own free time and it's just the matter on how we're going to take care of it and spend that free time that we have. But I agree about making time for things that we do like gambling, if you have other important matters to attend and your only option is either doing that or gambling then make sure that gambling won't affect your other affairs with that because if so, then that's another sign that you're already addicted to gambling.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing at gambling on: March 18, 2024, 12:59:15 PM
Thankfully that this didn't happened to me and hopefully that it won't be in my entire life. But if I found out that my partner spend all of our savings and money and we've got nothing left, I'd definitely going to be mad at her and she should have given me an advise on her gambling needs. Because with that, I'll be able to help her control that addiction and will help her on the budgeting for her gambling needs because if it's not for her, I won't be happy but at the same time we should be planning for our future together and someone has to help each other in terms of finances. I may be the one that can be good at finances or it will be her but then the other one is reckless in spending so that tandem is going to be terrible and useless in the end.

If both of us can't agree to things then we know where this relationship is going. But if that's the first time that she did it, of course everyone deserves a second chance and if ever I am the one on her shoe then I'd be asking her to forgive me and I'll do my best to become the better me and won't be doing the same mistake of losing our entire life savings. But I don't think that someone will ever do that when they're inside a relationship and have been out of control and will be losing their entire fund because of gambling. That's a serious gambling addiction that needs to get addressed because if it won't get some help from the experts in psychology then that will be continued and mistake will be repeatedly done no matter how much and how many times we'd be giving some reminders about it.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 17, 2024, 10:36:33 PM
While we often discuss Drake's well-documented struggles with irresponsible gambling and the "Drake's Curse", it's important to be aware  that gambling addiction can affect individuals from all walks of life.
IMHO, we're all in belief that whether Drake losses a lot of money even millions with just a single bet, he can always recover it with his business and influence in his own label. And that's why it is not a surprise if he shows his bet and he losses it in the end because we know that he's got somewhere to pull that money out and take it back through it. But with the mentality of many of the gamblers that are following his path, money is still money and that's hard to imagine that he losses a lot and then uses his other avenue just to recover it. Well, this is gambling and we all have our ways of recovering and whichever works for us at its best.

In this regard, let us take a moment to look at the case of another celebrity, Bruno Mars, whose gambling issues have manifested differently from Drake's.

Several internet sources today has reported that Bruno Mars borrows money specifically for gambling purposes, this is one thing that goes against one of the  rules of responsible gambling. Bruno currently owes 50 million dollar in gambling debts. I am not going to bore you with the detail. Therefore, I will leave a link to the full story - https://www.nme.com/news/music/bruno-mars-is-reportedly-50million-in-debt-due-to-gambling-3602329.

The lesson to learn is that gambling addiction is not respecter of Gender, economic status, race, nationality, religion. It will mess you up, bring shame and disgrace to you if you don't abide by the rules of responsible and do all you can to avoid it.
It was a surprising news to me when he's been exposed that he's addicted to gambling. I can't realize that he's really one but this is what fame and money can do to a person and what you've said is right that addiction chooses no one. As long as you get hooked with it and you've got a lot of money then all you have to do is to control yourself, your emotion and don't get into it when you've worked hard with money. I think most of the celebrities are like this that they can easily lose millions because they've got contracts, royalties and other source of income that they can earn them money but they have to remember that fame fades and if you're not with with your money, you can lose it on an instant and not just that, you'll have a plus of loans or debts that you'd be surprise that they are having interest on top of that. This common problem for most of the celebrities not just with gambling but also with other activities that can cause them addiction. Like they say, very typical in the entertainment industry.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Marketing Strategies for New Casinos? on: March 17, 2024, 09:28:06 PM
Give credits where it can actually be withdrawn upon being spent to the games itself. So, it's a review campaign which I think is cost effective and just give that note to have that honest review and there should be a minimum/maximum threshold that reviewers can reach for them to withdraw that into real money. I think that's a good way for you to get the attention of the gambling community here because you have the idea of how marketing works through the forum and having that said, you'll also get to be tried by most legit and real gamblers.

I know that it is going to be costly for you but you can give that experience as you choose whom you think are the legitimate gamblers with that fund that you're going to allocate here. It's not that much to think of as part of the marketing and later on, you can put that in record if ever they release the reviews on you as long as they're honest whether they're good or not. But of course on your end, you're not going to keep the bad ones but instead will use them for you to fix those possible flaws or seem to be unliked by the majority of the gamblers. It's all on you and there are a lot of it that you can actually do as long as the budget is not a problem for you. You can also hire great marketing experts and let them do the job for you because most of the casinos here have gone through with marketing and the ones that are still existing today and continues to market their casinos means that they see the worth of it and the budget of it have been effectively bringing more money to them.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 17, 2024, 08:20:15 PM
Hi community,

I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?
I've done this on my high school days but we don't skip classes and we only do it during our free time and when we've got nothing to do. Well, we were young during that time but as well as we're disciplined too. We don't want to meddle it with our grades in our schools or else it will be affected and our parents are going to see that impact and will go to our school and will ask our teachers and classmates why we'll have that grade. So, with that fear, fortunately that we've maintained our grades but it's not really a good influence to do that while we were young because it is not our money that we're gambling with.

But it is the money of our parents that are given to us and yet, we're going to use it for something such as gambling and we won't be able to avail our foods if we ever do that. That's why I hope that it won't be the same as this time I am now a parent and I'd like to think of it as a good memory that I have been with because life during that time was so chill and there's no need to rush to anything as if the environment and ambiance of things weren't really stressful at all.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Simple mistake that makes you lose everything on: March 16, 2024, 09:59:09 PM
I've got some minor mistakes too that when I've missed some matches that seem to be an easy win for me but despite of some circumstances that I have to face, I just missed most of them. Emotion plays a vital role in our gambling activities and that's why we need to control it and we shouldn't be triggered easily when we're experiencing such problems with our accounts or with some of our bets. It's not going to do us any good when we do that and that's why if you ever want to gamble and try to avoid mistakes, make sure that you're learning from the past experiences that you did because if not, it's likely that the same mistake are going to happen and will be committed again.

The worst thing that has happened to me is not cashing out at the initial time of winning, Until I lost all.
This is a common mistake that happens to most of us. We're happy that we're winning but because of our emotion and we think that we'd be lucky forever, we're not cashing out our initial winning or bankroll or starting balance. And that's the thing for having that much confidence. We're doing mistakes that seem to be small but when we realize them all, it's a big thing that we shouldn't done or else it's going to cause us much regret and might give us some traumatic experience especially with those gamblers that involves larger amounts.

234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Paper Betting- Would You Consider it if you Were to Start Sports betting Again on: March 16, 2024, 10:53:25 AM
Although I don't need this to start somewhere again if I'm going to get into sports betting since I don't need some refresher. But I do see those that want to try it for their first times like having a play money, this is just for fun and might helpful for them. If you are fearing of losing your money and just want to test how good you are then you can always get into paper betting or any of these play money just to have fun. Because if you don't have anything to do and yet you don't have money to gamble and bet some with your favorite sports and the casino that you use have this or you know a platform that supports this kind of feature then you can simply enjoy.

But in return, you are not expecting real money to come to you because you're playing to have fun with those paper betting or play money and that's not convertible to cash but I think of it as a way like a training ground for someone who's training himself to have some good experience in betting. You can improve your skills doing this and you'd get to see how well you're doing on it.

Well, that's a fine bet but Nigma won that match and I think that they're on the lower bracket now and likely to win the match. But at the finals of it against Nigma, that's where it's hard to put some bet or you'd just put it with Nigma. I just imagined looking at the upcoming tournaments, there are a lot of them and they're going to be continuous and this is I guess until we're close to the International, this is giving every team an opportunity to rise and participate to every tournament that's allowing them to join through qualifiers.
Thanks, I only went for it because I thought the odds were skewed for the side of Nigma Galaxy.
That's fine, it's a bet and sometimes this really happens.

Aside from the ongoing qualifiers, there's a minor online tournament scheduled later today, and I saw a few good teams participating like Team Liquid, Team Spirit, and PSG.Quest. I'll observe for now because we could expect to see the stronger teams go for experimental drafts.
Interesting and the games are starting now. Most teams are known and it also includes the new team of Ramzes, I hope that they'll be ending great on this tournament. And definitely as the name of the tournament, it's sponsored by 1win and as well as its dota 2 team is also invited on this tournament so good luck to all of the participants.

Moving on to the SEA because it's about to end later, I pity the first map of Talon and Geek Fam. Geek Fam lost and it's a massacre that has happened to them. Geek Fam didn't even got 5 kills but only 3 whilst the Talon esports got 29 kills. The map 2 is on the go and it's also being lived now, I hope that I'd watch a game 3 and GF will win this 2nd map.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exit strategy BTC cash out (or any other crypto) without pay capital gains taxes on: March 15, 2024, 11:39:34 PM
Going to a country that has zero taxation with your crypto gains is going to be costly unless you have a lot of profits that shall be taken on that country. But wouldn't you be questioned when you're about to get out from there and you'd start to bring that money with you or you'd just wire transfer that from there to your local bank account? But if it's about changing your residence, are you sure that you'd be willing to go that with extra mile and you've got a lot of requirements to fulfill with it unless you go in a country that will just want you to invest or buy some real estate that will cost you $100k-$500k and more. That means that you'd be having millions of crypto gains for that particular country so that you won't be required or else, you've got some relatives there and they shall be the one to take you up there and that will be cost effective and lesser once you migrate there and have that permanent residency. So, if you have no relatives that are willing to help you, isn't it that it's just best to pay the taxes to remove the hassle and there's no need for you to drop that amount for that country to be considered with their residency visa? But hey, it's a property to another country and that's still going to make sense as another investment, right?
237  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politicians and false humility on: March 15, 2024, 10:45:57 PM
Politician turn out to be the most humble people on earth when they are looking for power. They make all source of fake promises to solicite the support of the people but when they succeed after election they will start to see themselves like God betraying all the people that sacrifice everything to ensure they are in power.
I know right and you sure they do are the most humble people on the world during campaign periods. They'd say that they understand the problem of the people that they're trying to take the votes because that's all what they need from it. But take it from the ones that have been promised with good things from these politicians, once they win the elections they're likely to be back at their form and they won't give you any notice if what's the progress of their promises. Well, it's same stories that we'd get to hear everytime there's a politician going from area to area doing some campaigning.

Politicians are suppose to replicate the humility they exhibit during campaign after winning election but instead they became so rude and arrogant to their supporters.
That's because they think that they're on another level, they think that they should be worshipped because they've got access to the funds of the people. This is commonly known in politics and that's why most people don't trust them but they can't do anything about it because we always need to elect people. If there's a freedom that we're getting from these politicians, that is to vote the kind of politician we want but those corrupt and rude ones, they've got money to buy the votes or even their wins.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 15, 2024, 09:36:30 PM
Control how much you gamble per time, how much you gamble in total, how long you spend gambling, find a job that pays well, have someone watch your back; someone you can be accountable to, if you ever cross the line. These could really help.
These are helpful when you're stable and all you have to do is examining whether you're gambling with a decent percentage of your salary that you might probably not notice it. Because there are stable jobs that pays well and those gamblers that are into it have the same thinking that they're going to receive their salary soon so what they do is they're spending as much as they can and also living beyond their means that includes a lot of gambling budget that they can afford based on them. But if they're going to compute and calculate how much they're dedicated on it is that they're putting a lot of money that they can't afford to lose. The justification is there and they'd just say that they can gamble with any amount because soon, they're going to receive again the salary and that's the recovery plan that they have in their minds.

But little did they know that a habit is being formed with that mindset and it's giving them the hard time to recover not with their losses but from that mentality because it's going to stay on them forever until they notice and realizes that they need to change their habits. Because if they're not going to change their habits and they decline to examine themselves then one thing is for sure that they're aware of their habits and they don't want to let other people know dictate what they don't want to hear and that is because that they're likely gambling addicts already.

@ralle14, first day on MENA has ended and as expected, Winter Bears moves to the next upper bracket and the same goes for Nigma Galaxy.
Yeah, the rest of the teams are a level below these two. I'll give the map handicap (+1.5) on Winter Bears a shot since they mostly have the same players and only changed two members.

Well, that's a fine bet but Nigma won that match and I think that they're on the lower bracket now and likely to win the match. But at the finals of it against Nigma, that's where it's hard to put some bet or you'd just put it with Nigma. Next series that might be a surprise is Beastcoast vs Midas Club and personally I can't trust Beastcoast players anymore and that's why I think Midas will actually win this series and produce a surprise. Odds are also very appealing with x4. Shocked
Beastcoast won against Midas Club 2-0 and they're now going to be against with Boom Esports. I just realized that the roster of BC is no longer the ones with Chris luck and K1 before. But looking at some changes, I see that they're now going to play with Heroic which has already taken an invite.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Online Casinos Publish Their Bankroll? Your Thoughts? on: March 14, 2024, 11:35:40 PM
This is like asking exchanges for their proof of reserve. Well, we've got different thoughts about this but for me, once a casino is reputable I don't have to ask anything from them. They've already proven themselves to be trustworthy and have that huge bankroll for a very long time and you can see them spend a lot of money from sponsoring clubs and celebrities and I know that it is part of the marketing but the money that they've been producing by having those collaborations are more than enough the slice of the pie to prove that they have money.

Anyway, if a casino is being asked to do that, they're free to comply or not as there are no laws in the online world unless their local government tries to ask them for proof of that reserve for their operations. I think this is more applicable if the casino is starting out to show that they can sustain the operations and if ever some players win big against them. With that, they're attracting more users to come to them by showing that even they're just new, they've already prepared their bankroll and anyone can potentially win big and they'd give that profit to the lucky winners.
