1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 17, 2023, 07:26:50 PM
Hey len, that was close and that's just one! But you're right that this is a good reference for you next week when we go into the playoffs.
I told you I can!  Cheesy take a look at my strange bet

I just tried to predict from the kill results of several these teams and all them were almost over 42.5
I thought that you'll do it on the upcoming matches on Friday but you just did it. Congratulations len! Predicting kills is harder than choosing how many minutes the game will take and who's the match winner.

LGD has playing style that is almost similar to Team Liquid, which is very fast but has a lot of kills, but Team Liquid usually plays very fast with few kills. and for Nouns, I would be surprised if could beat Tundra who is TI11 champion.
Yeah, that's also the observation that I see from the Chinese teams. They're like having more kills but longer games if they can't end the game as soon as possible. It's like a turtling game because that's what they're good at.

It will be incredibly interesting to watch how Tundra will play in the lower bracket, especially if they pick Witch Doctor against them, or now they will ban him in every game? Wink
There will be no room for error.
I feel that it looks like it was nothing before but the actual impact of that Witch Doctor from the match they had with nouns could probably put trauma to them. Maybe they'll use that hero against Entity or much better that they should ban it as Gabbi could use that hero against them.

5 days of rest is too much in my opinion. I hope I don’t lose the good mood during this time that I had during the group stage. Anyway, I would like to see a 3 day break, not 5. However, this is good for the teams, they will be able to walk around the city and see interesting places to recharge themselves. Of course after analyzing all the games of opponents. After this, the victories of the underdogs can continue, although this rarely happens in the lower bracket.
This is like the first long weekdays for the players as well and after this, the semifinals and then the grandfinals. I agree with you that it's better if the break just took 3 days but anyway, that's how long Valve wants them to take a break and rest for this TI.
1062  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Flood the natural disaster on: October 17, 2023, 12:53:19 PM
This natural disaster is something that has become a yearly nightmare all around the world...
It displaces people... properties... businesses...lost of lives.etc
I think there should be an organization all around the world to tackle this to an extent..
What's your take on this?
There's Greenpeace and they're all for the good of the world including the natural resources and that's what they're campaign which includes climate change and everything related to green. They're getting support from various organizations and funded by some companies that are all out to support their advocacy. Although it seems late for people who see these natural calamities like flash floods to solve it, they're doing what they can and have their initiatives to do to help nature and preserve what they can still preserve. On our own, we can do in our tiniest help to contribute to avoiding these floods which are caused by our wrongdoings like cutting down trees, blockage of water passage due to random throwing of garbages.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 17, 2023, 12:20:08 PM
I think the easiest way to make a career out of gambling is to either offer the gambling to someone else, sell ads about gambling, or basically be an influencer that talks about gambling and they would get some payment on the side, maybe youtube, etc.
I reckon that it's the easiest way but to be on that part is going to make you go through a very tough road. That's a lot of effort needed to be considered by these casinos and become an influencer to them. All you have to do is to gain a social media presence and a community that trusts you and everything that you tell them. That's a factor that will make you hired as an influencer or an ambassador of a casino and from there, that's already a successful career. Drake is an exception, he's a rapper and also an ambassador and a gambler at the same time. But we can get an idea if you've got that solid following.

Trying to make money from actually gambling makes no sense because the odds are against the gambler.
And the house always wins.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: October 17, 2023, 10:56:01 AM
While we're off for a few days with Dota 2 games. Who is watching now the match on CS2 - IEM Sydney, Lynn Vision against Cloud 9? C9 took 2 maps against LV.
Also live now is ENCE and Fnatic.
Saw a bit of these Intel Masters series late Sunday evening since they are Australia it was Monday morning.
Watched the trailer for this tournament it being the first major to transition to full source 2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtxxF0W1tI0
Yeah, they started yesterday and now there are the upper and lower brackets already. The difference between CS2 from Dota 2 bracketing is that they've got groups A and B still on bracketing with the upper and lower brackets. However, if we analyze that, there's not that much difference in it because it still falls down to the playoffs, semis, and grand finals. So, the match that I have mentioned which was ENCE and Fnatic was done and this match was in the group B upper bracket. ENCE moves to the upper bracket finals and if they win tomorrow, they'll be qualified to the playoffs. Whilst Fnatic falls down to the lower bracket of B and will face Monte tomorrow. The current active matches as of typing this are;

Group A - lower bracket:
  • Na'Vi vs FaZe clan
  • GamerLegion vs Apeks
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 17, 2023, 10:28:45 AM
How many percent of signature earnings you gamble away?
It varies, there are times that I usually don't spend a lot and there are times that I do spend the most of it. I am not addicted so I can manage myself and only gambles with a real amount that I can afford to lose.

Do you prefer Fiat or crypto at a display currency?
In some instances, I'd like to do it with fiat but since it's easier to do it with crypto then that's what I am mostly using at these times.

What is your favorite game you play all the time?
Sports betting, dice.

What is your favorite casino platform?
Duelbits and Stake.

Are you a responsible gambler?
As I have said, I am not an addicted gambler which makes me say that I am a responsible gambler and I know what I am spending with and how much I am spending when I gamble. And that's what most of the gamblers need to remember when they are out of their leagues. Going back to how responsible they are, what are their spending habits and control themselves when it's necessary and they feel that they're going far.
1066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: October 17, 2023, 09:54:59 AM
Meme tokens started as funny internet stuff
From the word itself as a meme, it's all about fun stuff and this has all started with Dogecoin. If we're considering bitcoin as the father of this market, the crypto market and considered as the king. Then there is Dogecoin as the king of all memes and where it all started. Followed by the other popular meme coins like Shiba, Pepe, etc. Too many to mention and their success can't be denied and how many of the folks here have cashed out a lot of money from these meme coins are uncontested.

but they are turning into serious business with real communities behind them.
It's true about having backed by real communities that the founders of it have built. Many have leaned towards these meme coins because they've seen the love from its communities and it has been left there. It's just so hard to believe that before they were like nothing and impossible to be seen as projects that would have that much volume but then we saw during the last bull run that many of them became the apple of the eye. Even with that, I'll still not going to be serious with them and I am able to get some profits through it, I'll not reinvest on them and likely just going to let everything on my pockets empty until I sold most of them that are remaining on me.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about trading feature? on: October 17, 2023, 09:27:08 AM
I think that the title should be changed to trading game and not feature because I've thought of actual trading that we usually get and do in exchanges. Well, if they can expand for more games and the players like it based on the data that it shows then that's a good addition for them so that there can be a lot of choices for gamblers that are tired of looking at the same games that keeps on beating them. Those who are good in trading like the ones who mostly do it in futures can take this game seriously. I also think that this is a good platform for those who are interested in learning more about trading. But it's just kind of a different setting since they're casinos and not actual exchanges. Maybe soon we'll see some exchanges have their special link for their traders to play some gambling games. Since there are casinos that have added some trading type game and probably features the same as the exchanges in the nearest future.
1068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: October 17, 2023, 08:42:25 AM
This story shows that if we've won the lottery jackpot or any gambling game and it seems to be a huge amount, money is quickly going to be gone if we don't spend it wisely. Maybe you owe a lot of people because they've helped you but it's better if you just leave it as is because that's forever in your heart and you'll remember that forever. But if you want to give back to them, make sure that you're not giving all to them. That's the mistake of many people they've been giving all that they have and thinking that they are not going to run out of money because of the huge amount that they've won either with the lottery or any game that they played. $600k is such a life-changing prize honestly and the first thing that I'll do if I am the one to get it is that I'll keep myself silent. Yes, silence is much better on this time because you'll never know aside from asking some giveaways from those neighbors and relatives that you have, there could be people around you that are jealous of what happened to you. The wise folks will surely divide that money some for leisure and comfort but the most of it will be reinvested somewhere else that will generate them passive income for life and that's the best decision that someone can do. People will surround you because you have money but when you've left with nothing, they will flee from you.
1069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: October 17, 2023, 07:22:03 AM
GG used to beat up every team roster recently on Dota scene specially on EU and NA but they cant really totally shut down SEA specially Talon Esports. Come to think back that they are also once been dropped to lower bracket on Riyadh masters as far as i remember which we could really be able to say that they are indeed the kryptonite of GG team and pretty sure that they are aware. The bad thing on being on the upper bracket
of Talon is that they would really be facing Liquid which we do know that they are really that outmatched by Liquid whenever they are really that matched up. Lets see if they would really be making out some adjustments basing up on past performance.
Yeah, it's like Gaimin Gladiators has Talon Esports as their kryptonite and they're always losing against them. I think that this is to be expected of Gaimin Gladiators. Many teams have been on their shoe like they've been the best for that year and then they've been outperformed during The Internationals. I see people who are happy that they've seen Gaimin Gladiators being beaten especially Quinn because of his behavior in the pubs and think of himself as a superstar. No hate against him and probably the haters will never reach what Quinn has achieved but let it be like that. The lower bracket has become tougher with all of these former TI winners(Tundra) against Entity which is also a good team.

Even with that Tundra vs Nouns which it is really that unexpected that they had get that 2-0 which is on favor with Nouns. We do know on how dominating Tundra is
but surprisingly they have been beat up but of course its not really that too much of a concern knowing that they are really just heading on lower bracket.
I feel that Nouns have become the former Tundra. If you guys can remember how good they were during the time they became champions which was last year, everything has been smooth and we'll get to see if Nouns will prove themselves against Azure Ray. Also, the prizes are all out now. Here is the distribution for their prizes.

Prize Pool
The initial prize pool of the tournament is $1,600,000 USD.
An additional 25% of all Compendium sales are added to the total prize pool.[1]
The current total prize pool is $3,045,188 USD ($1,445,188 USD added).

1st
$1,370,476  45%   TBD

2nd
$365,406    12%     TBD

3rd
$243,672    8%      TBD

4th
$167,461    5.5%    TBD

5th-6th
$99,023      3.25%  TBD

7th-8th
$76,110      2.5%   TBD

9th-12th
$60,867      2%      TBD

13th-16th
$45,726      1.5%   TBD

17th-20th
$30,484      1%  Team SMG / Thunder Awaken / beastcoast / PSG Quest

As we can see, there's a huge difference between the 1st and 2nd place which is typical, and the champion will still get $1.3M and that's not bad right? Compared to other esports, this is still a lot of money for the prize pool despite that many have been disappointed about it including me.

While we're off for a few days with Dota 2 games. Who is watching now the match on CS2 - IEM Sydney, Lynn Vision against Cloud 9? C9 took 2 maps against LV.

Also live now is ENCE and Fnatic.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 16, 2023, 05:56:28 PM
There's alot of responsibilities on our hands, as parents we must ensure that we are responsible to our kids and have a positive influence on their daily lives. They are only children, but they absorb in fresh knowledge that they see very quickly.
That's like their skill as a child, they are quick to absorb everything that's being fed to them and they've got the best memory being shaped as they grow. And with having these activities done in front of them, they're quick to remember and will ask you questions that you may not like because it gives you the guilty feeling that you shouldn't be gambling in front or even not in front of them when you want them to grow not as a gambler. But deep inside, you're actually a gambler and there's no way that you'll deny it to them if you want them to be honest with as well.

When it comes to conversations, there should be a structure of leadership we should only tell them what is appropriate and what they are qualified to know, and we shouldn't be reluctant to let them know about the challenges and hardships life could present. Children are priceless gifts from life, and we should cherish and care for them.
They are good listeners and from there as a parent, we must tell them the dangers of it so that they'll have an idea of why they must avoid gambling and why only adults can do that. As long as they're no longer curious, it means that you're doing a great job for explaining to them the importance first of listening to their parents, next the dangers of a gambler that doesn't have a source of income and then what could lead those problems into another problems if they're not going to follow what's being told to them.
1071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 05:24:18 PM
I have nothing to say because I don't have that much money and don't have the balls to bet with that amount and regardless of the result, I'd still be that rich. Drake is known for that and yeah, he became a content for many influencers and we didn't know if that money just came from his sponsor which is known to most of us as he's a brand ambassador as well. He makes money out of these bets and having that attention from the world is raking him such contracts and money probably more than those bets. So whether he lost that bet or he'll lose again with the next bet that he'll be interested in, it won't be painful to him anymore. Sponsors, royalties from his music, so as I've said I've got nothing to say.
Now, I've got to say that he's living a life and at least that he can repeat that what he does while us, we're just putting him in the midst of our discussions while we'll probably never do it even once in our lifetimes.
1072  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Junket Operator on: October 16, 2023, 04:58:13 PM
The term "lure" might come across as somewhat harsh, given that there are junket operators who operate with transparency and integrity. They earn their income through commissions obtained from the casinos where they successfully attract high-rollers and VIPs, akin to how review websites function.

In the case of Yexel Sebastian and Mikee Agusting, the situation was different; investors directly provided their funds to them, not to the casino. This may not fit the traditional definition of a junket operator, does it?
That's the mistake of the investors, they've directed it to the cons and if it's a legitimate junket then they should have directly sent it to the casino having all of those legitimacies and contracts provided.

And you're right that there could be other methods that the junket operators does but these people just did the other way as they attracted and convinced a lot of people to go with them and sign under them.

I'm curious if they implemented a referral system as part of their scheme, but I haven't been able to find any news articles or information on this. Does anyone have any insights or information regarding this aspect?
This is what I am thinking of and they've earned a lot with that referral system that the junket provided them. That's why with their popularity, it's not new that celebrities or someone influential are being used in these schemes and later on turned into a scam. It's hard to know the actual procedures of this scheme because they're saying that it's just for VIP people and having with that minimum amount someone could just top up the money from other people to make someone a representative to them as collected for that pool of funds.

1073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which games offer the best chance of a big win? on: October 16, 2023, 04:35:35 PM
Sports is broad, we can never have full knowledge of all the sectors but we can get acquainted with the relevant ones that will generate significant profits for us.
And that's why whichever sports you are good with, you can focus there if you're for sports betting and master the tactics there as you proceed in betting with the games from that particular sport that you love. Because the advantage is on you when you know the sports that you're betting unlike the YOLO mindset, if you're serious, you'll never apply that mindset to your bets although no one restricts you from doing that.

You said it yourself, football offers more chances for big winnings in the system. I'm on football betting because it's more easier to understand, there's basically few difficulties we might encounter but we always try our very best to ensure we keep good records of winnings, because one might never know what's coming. Football can be categorized into major leagues and clubs, we choose the clubs that serves important purpose to us, not disturbed by the risks involved, always aiming for the very best results.
Just like you guys, who have more knowledge of football. I'm into other sectors of sports and some may not even consider it as a sport. Use that advantage that you know from the clubs, players, or contracts that are always in the news if it's about football. Soon I may get into football as well but I am starting to learn about it and need more time to familiarize myself in the gameplay, news, clubs, and players for which no doubt that you guys are better it than me. This is the power of focus and you'll get to have more ideas and more convincing analysis if you're good or at best into that sports that you're betting and you know a lot of.
1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The International 12 [Dota 2, eSport] discussion thread on: October 16, 2023, 04:11:14 PM
I am really looking forward to the Team Spirit vs Virtus.pro, Team Liquid vs Talon Esports. Going to be great showing for who can take the whole thing tho LGD can never really be dismissed.
For Team Spirit and Virtus.Pro, I am one-sided on this match. Since the start of this TI12, Team Spirit has had a 100% winning rate and it's likely that they'll continue their campaign in the upper bracket with that percentage. I am not belittling Virtus.Pro but Team Spirit is no doubt on a complete high level of Dota 2 this time. And for Liquid and Talon, as long as 23savage won't be bitter and won't do such actions that will likely throw the match, they have a chance against Team Liquid.

From the lower bracket i want to see Tundra move forward, they were great till they fumbeled in the seeding round.
The lower bracket is like the bracket that is full of gangsters and only one of them will reign to the finals. We can also think of those losers from the upper bracket going down and that's why it's always the hardest road to the finals so, history speaking, Team Liquid(former Nigma roster) did their way there and proved themselves to be a strong team on their prime. Oh well, that was like a several years ago and they're past their primes these days.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: October 16, 2023, 03:55:07 PM
Their lies could be about religion or relationship to his belief. When I was a little boy, my parents wouldn't allow me to gamble and cut me off whenever they knew it from a friend of mine and told stories that me and my friends got into a little gamble. The amounts back then were just a few cents to a couple of bucks since that was already a lot of money during my childhood. But whenever I told them that I'd won, they were happy for me and I think that's not about the money that I have shown them but it's about how satisfying it is to see their son have won. It's about the feeling of winning. I'm 50/50 on this father's reaction but he shouldn't neglect his son's feelings when he has won that money. There could really be values in it that his father stands up to his pit and will never recognize that. But he should given that as an exception and just tell to never do it again and he'll never be happy whether the kid brings more money and win from gambling.
1076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 16, 2023, 03:24:01 PM
People bet for just one reason, the reason people go into gamble is because they want to make money.
No contest, this is the truth. Everyone who gambles can say that he's up for fun but it all lies down to one reason and that's about making money. All want to make money and at the same time have fun, so you choose what's really fun for you. You can have fun and make money at the same time but it doesn't come by at most times. And for that record, that's when people think that you can't win on a daily basis and that's why treating it for fun would be the resorting reason and uplifting reason as well.

Of course people gamble for fun, even if you do it for fun, gambling is not something funny because your money is involved, and you could lose a very good amount of money because it is risky.
That risk is worth it when they truly have fun but it's still different thought when you're actually winning with the money that you bet on it.

I doubt if anyone would go into gamble for excitement or going into it just because your going through issues. It's for making profit, of course people do it for leisure but the major aim is for them to make profit at the end of the day.
You don't have to doubt anyone with that, just go with most of the threads here discussing about experience in gambling and you'll see that many are telling that they're all for fun and not for profit, what you'd say?
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: October 16, 2023, 02:59:09 PM
Quitting gambling can be both easy and hard, depending on the individual and the severity of their gambling addiction.
It's easy if you're not hooked that much in gambling but who's an addicted gambler who isn't hooked on gambling, right? All of the addicted gamblers are hooked on it. Thus, that's why quitting is hard for the most of them.

i still remember when I first started playing slots even in my dreams I could see reels just spinning.
IIRC, I have never dreamt of I'm gambling, honestly that's serious severity of addiction that you've got there and I wonder how you're able to think of yourself when you've come into that point that you also dreamt of playing slots.

At times I would work up and just try to roll some spins to try eaz up my mind. So I can imagine if you are used to play everyday definitely it's not an easy thing to say am quitting
Yup, when you've been doing it on a daily basis and you're able to do that for a year or two then that's what hard is. You're used to gambling and you'll stop in an instant? That's highly unlikely because majority of the gamblers that do want to quit got through that hardship and it's not an easy thing for the most of them even if someone says it's been so easy for them.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 16, 2023, 01:32:47 PM
This means that bookmakers estimate very highly that Tunda can win the tournament even from the losers’ bracket. I don't believe in this at all.
Before this placing in the bracketing, they were really the contender and the favorite of the crowd and even the bookies. But now that they're in the losers bracket, I don't think that odds should be retained and still be favorable to them. Looking at the teams that are in the losers bracket, you'll never know if they will survive and if they do, it's all about going through hell on them.

As for the team with the highest odds, it is nouns, who showed a simply amazing game. Now the main question is whether they could continue to play the same way. If someone believes in their victory, they can bet on their victory in the grand final x100.0 (previously it was x151)  Grin
Great odds are with nouns and even after sending Tundra to the lower bracket, many still underestimate them but that's it. Next week, they'll be up against Azure Ray in the upper bracket and AR isn't just a simple team, they're still the Chinese power house. It's like an incomplete set for this TI because we only get 1 team remaining from the China region and from the SEA region. But that's it, we all have to wait for the changes that Valve will make about the next qualification for TI13. Going back to the teams and TI, we have got five days of rest before we see some actions again. I am sure that most teams will review each gameplays and obviously their opponents.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: October 16, 2023, 12:55:56 PM
Just always remember in doing things, we must take accountability and we need to be responsible in doing all of it including gambling. We see legitimate worries and concerns from people who don't really gamble because they see the side effects of it from those gamblers who are not aware of its effect. It's nice to see people like them that have genuine concern because all they want is the best for everybody. But also, actual and real gamblers know what's best for them and they're all aware that gambling could do good and at the same time bad things for them if they ever allow some negative thoughts from them. The ones who have experienced bad things with gambling can simply quit and forget about its existence. But can't stop the ones that are also still optimistic about it and can't stop themselves in doing so because they're enjoying it and are not removing the fact that they can win some bucks through it.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 16, 2023, 10:15:55 AM
~snip~
Whether we like it or not, when you taste the feelings of losing all you want to do is to chase that victory, and aside from that is to chase your losses. It's the typical situation that everyone is dealing with and whether we tell you not to try hard, when it is your emotion and ego being hit by losses, you're going to be on your own without remembering all of those reminders that were given to you.
This is common and often happens to many gamblers, including us, but we must be able to prevent ourselves from trying to recover from losses. We will find it difficult to recover from losses because we will probably experience more losses. Instead of taking the risk of receiving more losses, we should take a break and stop gambling so that we are tempted to continue gambling again.
Yes, when you've been there so many times then you should be aware of that consequence and you won't make the same mistake. But can we do that? Maybe for some but for the majority, it is given that it's hard to prevent ourselves from chasing the losses because it has become a norm and mindset for everybody that we need to recover those losses no matter what happens. And that's the reality that instead of being able to recover, we're incurring more losses. With that, every gambler knows the consequences, and despite that, we continue.

It is normal for many people to see something different, and they will easily say negative things about that person. But we also don't need to follow what they say, especially if we only hear stories from other people about someone, because usually, that story will have additional stories that don't match reality. So we have to be able to filter it ourselves and act slowly, especially if we don't know the real story.
Just ignore them, that's the best weapon against them. They mind their own business, we mind our own businesses too.
