Oh great, I just bought this PSU for my S7 that I will be powering up tomorrow night and NOW I read this thread...  Undecided

Well, I'll give it my best shot and report back on whether or not I can get it running properly.  I will say that I'll be UC the S7 slightly to keep electrical $$ within reasonable limits.

At least it was an "open box" special from Frys, and I've never returned things to Frys, eh?  Roll Eyes

It would work just fine if you properly connect the right connectors to the right rails. Its a hassle having to balance the rails, but it will work just fine if you do.
Thanks, I figured as much but it's just one more thing to worry about!

Cheers, keep calm and mine on!

Nice to wake up to one of our patented kano ckpool TRIPLE BLOCK PARTY!!  Grin
Love it, and it's not yet Friday (here).  Indeed, wolf, great to see multiple blocks confirming to payout!  Such fun... Cool

Edit - and my replacement controller is scheduled to arrive tomorrow so finally get my s7 pointed here for more hash action!

Three cheers for bluemine1024 for cracking the latest block!  Smiley  Thanks!

Keep calm and mine on!

CKPool:     13,962.74THs

And Climbing....Yes!
That's frazy! That's like close to 3 times the hash rate when I first pointed my s5 here, and that's just over a month ago!  Shocked

Keep calm and mine on, indeed! Cool

Thanks to cvokey and the s7 that just hit a nice lucky block!  Another good weekend of blocks from  kano ckpool!
Keep calm and mine on  Smiley

Block Friday indeed - in some timezones anyway! Grin

Love this pool! New IO card on its way for the S7, then more hash here for the pool's continued success cracking blocks above calculated expected values!  Cool

<snip...>
Statistically the 5/10 confidence intervals are ... so small (%) that they really don't have much of an expectation of representing expected results Tongue

WOO Block Smiley
Yes, but the 5 and 10 day numbers sure look good when we hit the SSSS streak though!  Remember Block Friday a couple weeks ago?  Good times...!  Cool
1629  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12 PH] ** 5x AVALON6 GIVEAWAY ** Kano CKPool (kano.is) [0.9% PPLNS] US,DE,SG,RU on: January 21, 2016, 09:24:41 PM
I have the DE node up and running again since yesterday.

All is running fine on it so far (touch wood) and the DNS for anyone who connects or reconnects to de.kano.is points back to it.

Anyone wanting a probability number for 350% we just went past:
Code:
0.96980261657768  350.000%  1 in 33.1
Yep on any pool you expect about one in 33 blocks to be 350% or more.
kano-san, I love this geeky math stat stuff!  Got a question, does the chance of finding a block at a given % of hash follow a normal distribution, or is it based of a different distribution curve.  i.e. if we have a 1:33.1 chance of finding a block of 350% or higher does that equate to the opposite end of the curve, such that we also have a 1:33.1 chance of finding a block of (1/350%) 28.6% or lower?
Which we have, many times, on this pool btw!!  Grin

Bravo jonny, making more of our favorite POPCORN!  Grin
Love seeing multiple blocks confirming simultaneously, makes me all verklempt! Following David's lead I too will be sending some btc to kano-san for all the good work, you are a mensch and a scholar.

Edit-0.05btc on its way. Get a bigger bottle! Wink

Anytime the pool goes down we usually get a lot of blocks.
It's nice when Karma plays nice with us at Kano CKPool, eh?  Those keyboard tough-guy ddos clowns can KMA, and thanks for the block!  Cheesy

Woo Hoo, Block Party happening!  Let's keep the good times rolling!  Grin
A nice, juicy block with lots of txn fees!

It would appear that the first Avalon has been won... block was found by a miner with about 25TH, right?

PCComf 20.12THs

So apparently yes

It was won by indeec444 with ~85THs previous block.  Way to go, c'mon February!

Just remember if you do that you will loose the 5ND, at least i think that will happen  Undecided

No, nothing will be lost.

This is how the 5Nd works:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg13540177#msg13540177

You get paid for all shares submitted.
Thanks, Zach, I was about to go into a whole disertation on shares and such, but indeed I could already hear kano-san's eyes rolling at yet another "how's this 5Nd thing work" thread...

Indeed I'm here for the long-haul, and even if I did mine to a different BTC address, as my 5Nd ramps up on the new address it is simultaneously ramping down on the old for a net effect of - get ready for it - zero, paid the same in total.

Loving the contest and this pool's community of bitcoin fanatics!

Run into a little problem with the web stats, though.  Been mining straight to a BTC address but want to use more of kano-san's stats and stuff that's available.  I setup an account, made sure all is (apparently) correct re username, same btc address, and generate an API, but I don't see any hash coming from my machine to the pool - everything shows zero on any stat page...  Tongue

I must be missing something easy...  Anyone else see this when setting up your account after mining to an address??

EDIT - Hold on, I setup an account while sitting here at work, but my miner is still mining straight to my BTC address...  I'll bet that is the issue - sorry for clogging up the thread, back to your normally scheduled mining.
1636  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Replacing the Fan on an S5 on: January 18, 2016, 08:37:11 PM
I replaced the stock fan on my S5 with a pair of Noctua NF12 iPPC 3000rpm fans, in a push-pull configuration.  It is not silent by any means, but is way nicer than the stock fan and setting it with OC of 375M and 82% fan speed I get both temp readings under 60C (just!).

Try it, you might like it.  You don't have to set the fan speed manually, the S5 will spin the fans up and down as needed.  In fact, when you first turn it on the fans will not spin at all!  Don't panic, they will spin up shortly after boot...

Good luck!
Keep calm and mine on.

Wow, crazy.  Thanks again for keeping us up on all the politicking going on behind the scenes, in a supposedly politics-free system.  You really do see everything, don't you?  Wink

Crack that Block already people, see how hard kano-san is working for us?  Pool fee totally earned!

Thank you for the clarification, sir.  I knew you would know what is going on, you did say once that you see all... Grin

Block crack imminent, get ready for it, boom!
