Blocktastic! Glad we're all smart enough not to listen to "a guy"...

That's not good. I'd suggest you not screw with it and return it. Hope you got buyer protection of some sort - I'd say return it and try again with a different seller...

Can't see something connected to your router? That's where I look first to find any hardware on the network...

Nice! Will that be your 2nd R4?
yeah. I am going to sell off some gpus. Phil, hope your percentage is better than mine... Got 2 R4's, one is hashing on one board so total of only 75% of the hashrate I paid for, and 50% failure rate (for this small sample size tho)

I deleted the post by the guy who kept doing 51% attacks on p2pool. He's just trying to get people to visit his silly thread where he keeps showing he doesn't know what he's doing.Visit the p2pool thread if you want info about p2pool No kidding!! It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt!

I'd guess the lower efficiency is because they upped the voltage to the chips - could be the instability seen in the S9 and R4 units is due to the chips having barely enough voltage to run in Bitmain's quest to make the most efficient miner...
Up the voltage and you get less efficiency but possibly much more stability. Just my .02BTC

Sounds like expert advice to me. I always follow what a guy says...

Yeah, one might think that an increased warranty period would mean the company in question believes their equipment is more reliable and hence fewer returns...

Avalon A721 or Bitmain R4 are your choices for use in house. S7 can be clocked/fanned down to acceptable sound levels, but efficiency isn't as good as the above more recent units.

Block by blockmines! This is his 11th Kano block and our 2nd of the day! Good way to wake up this morning! Cheers to blockmines! A quick <20% diff block that's extra juicy fat with fees! Gotta love this pool! Mine on!!!

My B2 was set at 550 and then the firmware would then auto adjust. When you ask to calculate the est. income, is that with both boards working or just one like so many of ours are?
LOL, funny because it's NOT funny! I wanted to grab another R4 today but didn't have enough coin ready to go. Guess that's the universe telling me to wait until B4 gets back from warranty repair before getting another one!

I get a little over 1.3 blocks/day at current diff and pool hashrate
|
|

Actually Bitmain has already announced that all miners purchased after Oct.1 2016 have a 180 day warranty from date of shipment. That should translate into more reliable equipment, but...

Hmmm, did you really expect an answer with PLZ as your only question about mining? You need to show us that you've done at least some cursory due diligence which would be reflected in more complete, fleshed out questions. For example, do you have a budget? You don't get magic bitcoins for wishing, you need a dedicated bitcoin miner. Have you looked into that yet? Do a little reading, searching, and contemplating, and then get back to us! There are many here with much more experience than I, and they do chime in if so compelled. So be compelling!

20 Terahash what? Per hour? Sure. Per second? Never.

Well crap, my 1/2 running batch 4 hasn't sent in a share in 24 hours now - It's at a DC so until someone there checks it and gets back to me not sure if it's now fully dead or there's some other issue going on over there. In any event, I'm going to get an RMA and have it shipped back. This bites! At least my batch 2 has been running fine since day one.

Sure, if you want to know what the pool's expected blocks per day based on current hashrate that's easy. Plugging that into a calculator at present difficulty I get just a touch over 1.5 blocks per day expected. Variance, on the other hand, will make the ride bumpy! If you want to know what days we'll hit 3 or 4 or 5 blocks you'll have to consult some chickens.
