Block by cobramining!  This is his 11th Kano block and our 1st of the day!  Cheesy
Woot baby! Now if only tourettedan would STFU we'd all be better off.  And you're still on blast (i.e. ignore) dumbass so don't bother replying to me. You're wasting your stinky breath... Tongue
1242  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [25+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL,NYA on: January 06, 2017, 08:58:00 PM
Even with ignore on you're STILL annoying.  Go away...
1243  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can ASICS kills power supplies? on: January 06, 2017, 02:58:52 AM
Indeed, but as fuzzy surmised I already have the psu and so it goes...
Thanks all for the input. Mine on!
1244  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [25+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL,NYA on: January 06, 2017, 01:39:52 AM
Thank you, kano-san. Frankly you have the patience of Job, and I hit the ignore button on this statclown days ago...  Don't argue with stupid; first they bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.  Wink
Love the work you and -ck do for the pool in particular and the BTC community in general.  As John Boehner said many times, you can disagree without being disagreeable.  This douche le grande is quite disagreeable, and even though he knows I got him on blast (i.e. ignore) he'll still answer this post...  Cheesy
Can't fix stupid! Mine on!
1245  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: January 06, 2017, 01:06:14 AM
Well no love here for my newest droid R4B4, though I think I'll call it R2B4 since it's only half the droid it should be...  Just updated to the recommended firmware but still only 1 blade hashing so RMA has been started.  Hopefully this gets squared up quickly, hate not having even half the hash running while it's out for repair.
At least bitmain has doubled the warranty period for machines bought after Oct 1 2016, that should mean they're more confident in their hardware, and hence it's more reliable than before...
Big harrumph for that!   Tongue

Nope, independent events.  Each share is found on its own as I'm sure -ck will point out with more elegance than I.
1247  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can ASICS kills power supplies? on: January 05, 2017, 08:16:50 PM
Hey Fuzzy, Fin,
I really respect your opinions.  What would you say to using a 'high end' consumer psu - one listed above - running at most 60% of max load instead of 80+%?  Like a 1600W psu running a 900W miner?
1248  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: January 05, 2017, 07:10:35 PM
Very interesting!  My R4B4 that's doing the single board hash dance is in a DC many miles away from me...  Do let us know if working a firmware update does anything for you!
Cheers, and good luck!
1249  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: January 04, 2017, 08:13:02 PM
Cold restart: turn off PSU for 10-15 seconds, turn back on.  Otherwise I try to never reboot my miners unless I have to.  My R4B2 has been rock solid since I got it.  My R4B4 is the moody one...
1250  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [25+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL,NYA on: January 04, 2017, 07:42:06 PM
Pool side and it should certainly be up to full speed by now.  It's obviously doing the 'one board down' thing which seems to be not too uncommon if you check the R4 thread.  Did it to me once while I was setting it up to mine here via nya, cold restart got it back - seems warm reboots can cause it for some reason.
Harrumph!
1251  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [25+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL,NYA on: January 04, 2017, 06:37:27 PM
What kind of old farts convention we having here??  I recall programing FORTRAN on bubble cards, punch tape, etc...  First time we got to use a CRT was HOT SHIT!!
Back OT - the dogsled has arrived in Labrador but I see only 1/2 the hash to the pool coming from the droid I dropped off there, R4B4 only running 4.xTHs.  Probably needs a cold restart, but at least more hash for breakfast (in my timezone...)!
Mine on!

Arigato, kano-san mate. I love hearing about the "under the bonnet" goings on!  Cool
1253  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [25+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL,NYA on: January 03, 2017, 07:04:17 PM
Arguing semantics at this point... Roll Eyes  What isn't just semantics is the fact that once the FedEx dogsled arrives in Labrador tomorrow I'll have another R4 pointed at the pool.  More hash baby!!  Cheesy
1254  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S7 will not power on: December 30, 2016, 02:07:50 PM
You need to jump across a couple pins to turn on the psu - normally the power button on your computer does this but we're not using the psu in a computer, right? Look for the PS ON pin and connect it to any COM pin.  PSU turns on, and so does anything attached to it!
1255  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 30, 2016, 03:05:19 AM
Quite sure they're all sold out.  Keep an eye on this thread, bitmain usually announces new batch(es) a day or so before sales open. Then jump on it!

My latest droid, R4B4, is on the FedEx dogsled to your facility post haste. Onward junior hashman!
1257  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 Noise Level on: December 28, 2016, 04:30:46 PM
...and they work great as a space heater - my R4B2 is in my bedroom keeping it a bit warmer and is quiet enough to sleep no problem.  My R4B4 is actually a bit louder (8.7THs vs 8THs) so it's going off to be hosted for now.
1258  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 28, 2016, 02:18:04 AM
Just got R4B4 up and running, and so far all is a-ok!  Interestingly enough, I still see a wide temp difference on one of the boards-
87 and 85 on one vs 87 and 104 on the other-
But so far 0 HW on both, which is very different from my other droid R4B2...  She's heading to the Great White North to be hosted @ cryptoboreas which I need to do since I can only keep 1 miner running @home for both electrical and matrimonial reasons! Happy wife = happy life!!

If you ask me what pool to point your hash towards, I'd say kano.is.  I consider it to be set and forget; can't beat having kano-san and -ck, literally the guys who wrote the book on miner and pool software, running and chiming in on issues related to the pool.

Just my 0.02BTC
1259  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 27, 2016, 05:56:09 PM
My R4B2 has the same strange temperature readings - one at 98C, the others are between 55 and 70C.  Interestingly, looking at the HW numbers I get twice an order of magnitude difference: 7 vs 140 after a day.  Guess which one has the higher number?  It's the board with the two lower temps...  Other than that it's been hashing fine no issues (knock on wood).

I have my R4 standing up on end, btw.  Don't know/can't tell where the higher temp reading is actually coming from inside other than it's Temp 1 on Chain 1.
1260  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 27, 2016, 04:01:33 PM
Damn, Phil, that sucks balls...  I got a 2nd R4 coming in this week that'll be swapped with the one in my bedroom, and that one will go to the Great White North and hang with Alan and the gang at Cryptoboreas.  This is crazy, in 1 year I went from a lowly S5, sold it and got an S7, sold it and got an R4, and now a second one to be online in a week or so.  Yeah, I know I'm small potatoes compared to many of you, but a 16x increase in hash in a year, now THAT'S exponential growth!  Don't think I'll be able to keep it up for another year, tho...!
