also, my s7s were running 4.8 TH/s when i first started using this pool but have somehow gone down to 3.8 TH/s after like 30 minutes. Why is this? This never happened on slushpool. Sorry for the nooby questions, as I am a noob. I've noticed that my share rate has also now become higher than my hash rate?

dont micro manage.  give it 3-5 days
Indeed phil is right. You're looking too closely at the variance, which will always be there. Long term averages matter on a 5ND timescale.
You've come to the right pool.  Set and forget is my motto!  Wink
Mine on!
1202  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer R4 - dead hash board? Shitty design, read before you send it back on: January 30, 2017, 11:01:10 PM
**ATTENTION ALL POTENTIAL BITMAIN WARRANTY CUSTOMERS**

Today I went to my local UPS store to ship out my Batch 4 R4 that needs repair and picked up my Batch 2 R4 that was shipped back on Friday (I have been oput of town).

When I opened the box, I was shocked to see they shipped the miner back to me without the foam packing that goes on each end of the miner which was on there when I shipped to Denver. This means the R4 was not tightly packed and sliding around inside the box. In addition, I found one heat sink that had fallen off and one of the protective plastic sleeves for the hash board slots missing.

Seriously??? Crap product from China, slow repair service from Denver, and $225 later I still have a damaged miner. I do not even want to power it up out of fear of causing more damage.

Oh man, don't know what to say about that...  Undecided  Mine's still chugging away at 1/2 speed in a DC until they send out a bunch of their S9's that need repair, my R4 will then go along for the ride.

Sorry you're getting the big green weenie on all this. Must be nice being a monopoly.

1205  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: January 27, 2017, 03:09:50 PM
I did not know these latest S9s on the Bitmain site had a 180 day warranty...did I read this right?

Quote
1. A 180-day warranty is provided starting from the shipping date.
You read that right!  In fact, all miners sold since OCT 2016 have the 180day warranty - it's hiding somewhere on their site...

Haha!  That's what I get for not buying S9s any more! Grin
Here it is, under warranty for S9 purchase: "1. A 180-day warranty is provided starting from the shipping date. To avail this warranty a repair ticket must be generated by the customer on Bitmain's website. Overclocking the miner will void the warranty immediately."

Funny, the new FW's don't let you OC the S9's anymore, right?   Huh

Hell yeah, that's the spirit!  Mine ON!
1208  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Are my antminer s9s fooling me? on: January 27, 2017, 01:26:02 PM
If the pool is saying your hashrate is correct then it is correct, don't worry about it!  As to 'how close' you've come to solving a block, in bitcoin mining the saying 'a miss is as good as a mile' is appropriate since each share when calculated is random, and either you solve it or not.  Close only counts in horseshoes, hand genades, and atom bombs!!
1209  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer R4 - dead hash board? Shitty design, read before you send it back on: January 27, 2017, 02:56:22 AM
Hey tbone I feel your pain.  My R4B4 that's dropped a board is in a DC up there in the great white north ...  Waiting for CNY to finish and then off it goes.  We'll see how much $$ that takes once it happens.

Block by wetsuit!  This is his 3rd Kano block and our 4th of the day!   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Surf's up!! Blockmania continues!  Cheesy
1211  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminers different hashrate on: January 25, 2017, 05:55:07 PM
Indeed, my 8.0THs R4B2 has been running just fine since day one.  My 8.7THs R4B4 is sick with one board down and will be sent out for repair after the CNY, so for now it sits in a DC chugging away at 1/2 speed...  Tongue
1212  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: January 25, 2017, 03:50:08 AM
Indeed, that eerily smooth graph data contradicts the variance that inevitably must be there...!   Shocked
Something fishy, thoughts?

If you do ever get any S9v1, make sure you update them to the v2 firmware if you want to point them here.

I have several S9's that BITMAIN states should not be upgraded to V2... Are V1 S9's going to be blocked or something? Need to find an alternate pool for the V1's if that is the case.
It has been postulated that you get the most karmic bang for your buck if you point the S9v1's back at antpool...!  Wink

Come on guys and gals...time for Block Friday already! Grin
Ya faking me out, Carl.  Usually when you chime in you're announcing a block, not pining for a block...!  Cheesy
Block Friday commences NOW!
1216  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: antMiner S7 fan replacement, won't stop beeping and not hashing on: January 19, 2017, 09:33:14 PM
I think gt got it right, it is a PWM fan but it's not fast enough at a given % power so the controller doesn't like what it sees and bails.  I did use the one you've got on my S5, that worked fine, but I guess not on the S7...  Sad
1217  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Legit, New Avalon? on: January 19, 2017, 09:19:08 PM
Actually Phil deserves not only to be refunded, but there should be some extra attached for him?  Why?  Phil has sold many, many Avalon machines - just check the Group Buy threads - and as such should  be considered a VIP customer.  In fact, if Phil had been able to get reasonable (just reasonable mind you, not extraordinary) pricing and payment options I would have also gone for the A721.  I wanted an Avalon machine.  I was waiting for the new Avalon's to come out.  But nooooooooooo.  Much more difficult than it ever needed to be.  So instead I went with Bitmain, as most of us have let's face it, and have the requisite issues with the machines in my command.  Tongue
1218  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Possible to manually adjust Antminer R4 fan speed? on: January 19, 2017, 05:11:38 PM
I'd say it's not a problem.  My temps read between 57 to 98 on the various chip measurements you get in the GUI, and that's a B2 that's been running for almost a month now solid.

Mine on!
1219  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: antMiner S7 fan replacement, won't stop beeping and not hashing on: January 19, 2017, 02:11:20 PM
I put a Sanyo Denki SAN Ace 120 3.0 Amp 12 Volt 120mm PWM in push, and a Scythe DFS123812H-3000 Ultra Kaze in pull.  Sounds SO much better!  Is it quiet? Not by a long shot, but it is much less noticable, and is both ears and wife approved!

HTH, mine on!

Go to Kano.is.  The first page will teach you all you need to know to connect here.  Good choice on pool, BTW!!

Mine ON!
