Potcoin (POT) | First Human to Smoke Crypto! | NSFW

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAkcm0nFOI8

In this May 28th edition of the Goldcoin™ Report, Microguy (aka the flower child of crypto) becomes the first human being to smoke a cryptocurrency. Follow the instructions in the video and you could win 5000 Potcoins! Don't miss a moment of this "mile high" version of the Goldcoin report.

Note: I attempted to post this in /r/potcoin but the post was apparently not approved. I'll post a scanned image of the rolling paper tonight in this thread at precisely 11:00pm New York time. The first person to import the private key from the scanned rolling paper will win 5000 FREE Potcoins!

Please remember to sweep the key or your pot will be stolen!

I never knew Microguy was so relaxed. Smiley

Anyway, I bought a bunch of Potcoin. The main reason really is I know some Bitcoin only people that just hate any coin that isn't Bitcoin. When I asked one they thought of "Potcoin", he was like, "Well, I do like a nice Sativa"...

Thanks, I think the original color is best. Had to see it. Anyway, that is my vote. Smiley These also look great too.
1743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Dystopian Future on: May 31, 2014, 05:59:57 AM
I enjoyed reading this, and while there is some truth to what is written, I think the author is missing the forest through the trees.

Every. Single. One. of his fears are happening RIGHT NOW... ALL THE TIME... EVERYWHERE... at the hands of GOVERNMENTS.

There is going to be a total power shift from the criminal organization known as THE STATE, and all who cling to its coattails, to the producers of value and those who engage in voluntary commerce and interactions between and among individuals.

Exactly. Whatever the risks are of decentralization, the current situation has wealth backed by war and torture. Absolute mortal force. It may not seem that bad if you are not paying attention, but, it is that bad. When I first got involved in cryptos, and Bitcoin, I thought the Anarchists were all crazy, now, I realize they have some really good points.

Additionally, the problems with the centralization of wealth will also likely be far better with people able to distribute money and wealth themselves. Rather than the current situation we have now with hellfire missiles and prison states, making sure people, nations, groups, and even ideas, don't get out of line.

The wild notion that I do totally agree with the OP on, is that crypto currencies, Bitcoin, Alts, whatever, are the future of money. Those underestimating it are making a grave error. This will change everything, forever, I am certain. So if possible, the smoothest transition should be encouraged. I certainly would hate to see how bad it could get it power starts to lose control and what they would do to keep it. Anyway, hold on to your Bitcoins, and maybe some of those new anonymous Alts may end up pretty darn valuable over time too.

Firstly;

I inspired from BTC...

This is perfect.

What would it look like in red? I like that it is simple like Bitcoin, and subconsciously, it reminds me of money symbols, dollars, cents, profit.

If it matters, the dev is who he says he is, I checked and I am sure. Felt a little like a friendly stalker matching everything up, but, I am very paranoid after all the BS with some coins. He is legit, so, don't worry about that. I am also quite confident he can pull it off.

Anyway, great dev, great coin. Should do quite well over time.
1747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | PoW/PoS | Redesigned GUI & Wallet | Full Time Devs on: May 29, 2014, 06:10:42 AM
lol bought more at 3196 and then the price drops to 2300 lmao oh well im sure this coin will take off soon which is why I bought more lol

Same here.
I picked up a few @ 3000 soon as SC was listed, then a few more around 1000 to lower the average.
Would be great to pick up a few more below 1500... but don't fancy my chances.

best wallet I have ever seen.
1748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] >> Mandatory Update to new Wallet - The first POS X11 anonymous wallet on: May 28, 2014, 08:51:33 AM
Trust me that you want to hold some of this. Take your profits and all that jazz, but stash some away and you will likely be very happy later. This is and will be one of the top anon coins. Imagine Darkcoin if it generated Darkcoins, or if anyone could have their own masternode without being a linux networking master. Really top notch coder behind this one as well. Legit.
1749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHARE]ShareCoin - Pure POS - The only coin backed up by a real bussiness on: May 28, 2014, 07:05:38 AM
Wow, this coin looks really good. Just bought some. So many coins, sometimes I don't see the good ones until later.

One thing though, "Business", "The only coin backed up by a real business" Wink

Karma LLC is also a real business, but, I like the ideas here.

selling everything now...

Not really, and that is as close as I can get to FUD. Jealous I don't have more. I don't even think 8 millions coins are in circulation.

The code is being changed for mining to reduce supply, like Evan did for DRK... What happened was the multi pools started dumping after some time and that caused the crash. Now, everyone is just waiting for the update.

DRK/XC the only anon alts I am interested in. As they must be easy for people to use to work beyond a trade coin. Pretty sure the cryptonote clones need some more tweaking for that first. If you believe in the coin just get it before the next run up. Appears to be bottoming out now, of course, it is safer to wait for the updates.

hey dev, did you used to play Barren Realms Elite on a bunch of dial-in BBS's?
Or it might have been that Solar Realms Elite?

don't recall atm.. but did play a lot of "tradewars" and "the pit"... ah ansi graphics rule...

Oh man. Semi-related but I couldn't help mentioning my old passion for MUDs... Oh man. those were the days.

Somewhat more on topic, I'm really sorry to hear about someone outing your identity. That's really awful. Your reputation will help the project, but it's still terribly unfortunate and I hope it doesn't become too much of a burden.

Keep up the great work, and can't wait to see your next release;)

Yes, while most devs are anonymous for a reason, (people would sell the second they find out they are clueless) This is the opposite situation. I was transferring BTC to buy more as fast as could.

well after a marathon work week, with very little sleep or food, I am going to celebrate this huge milestone and then get some rest!!!

it was a great adventure getting to this point and I want to say thank you to all of those you helped along the way!! this is only the beginning for XC!!!!

+1

Thanks for all the hard work!

I sold 10% of my DRK to join the X11Coin ride. Still 90% in DRK and holding.

Sounds like we are doing roughly the same thing. Good plan. Wink
1757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 24, 2014, 09:15:27 PM
How could value drop if there have been moar DRKs bought than sold?
And storms started, well a little one, its gown down... yo

This has been covered many times before, and it works more or less like that:

Big players use trading bots with small amounts driving the market up or down.

When they need to accumulate, they place sell walls and drive the price down using low volume 20-30% below ATH
This causes flash shake out and instantly buying large amounts from the sell order book, which has been pushed down.

When they pump up, they place buy walls, and drive the price up using low volume.
This causes panic buying and when the buy order book is thick enough, they dump.

Now the difference between Darkcoin and other coins is, that due to the fundamental values, flash dump by pumpers never causes panic selling, price recovers and settles on the higher floor than before.

Rinse and repeat - win-win for everyone except the panic sellers who panic bought.

Exactly. You can just look at the Charts for DRK going all the way back. Same thing has been happening over and over, just keeps getting a bit more epic. It will be interesting to see what happens after the Masternodes start paying people running them as well. One more day?
1758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 24, 2014, 09:00:39 AM
i have 141 drk bought in under $1  think i will hodl

Holding is wise, and I really wish I *never* sold any earlier (thanks for all the bad advice everyone in crypto-land), or I would be paying off my mortgage now. This is the most innovative crypto out there, at least in terms of how it can have real world use, soon, and massive demand. It also keeps increasing in value based on the continued development by the one of the very best devs out there. Anyone that has followed DRK closely knows this. It didn't reach #3 by blind luck, but by lots of hard work.

Seriously, we pretty much just expect amazing innovations with DRK, and Evan keeps delivering. The trolls should really stop complaining and buy while it is still cheap. Yes, cheap.

Take masternodes for example, initially they may generate a few hundred a month income, not shabby. As they increase the scarcity of the coin, and if, as likely, this gets real world use and buying pressure from being used on the Darknet, this could potentially go up to thousands in income per month. So, with a few thousand invested, potentially, one could have an income for many years. If DRK in time passes LTC, then really, the panic buying will begin in earnest. In time, a few hundred DRK may be like buying a few hundred BTC last year. Heck, just hold a couple and see what happens, what have you got to lose? A few dollars?

Besides, I am sure we all recall the nonsense about BTC last year going to zero, a tulip, beanie baby, and all that nonsense. The brave ones, or those that had the extra money and bought early, really are living well now. I knew DRK was a winner when I first started trading for it, but I was starting from almost nothing. A fraction of a BTC. Business debts, bad economy, needing to sell just to get by. Things are different now as I have learned to see the value in cryptos, and to tell which are likely to win and which will lose. Dark is my favorite and always has been, I keep telling people, and they keep repeating the same bad advice. To sell. To take your profits... to not be greedy. To just get by. Personally, I am not going to listen to any more bad advice.

1759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS - no IPO| 3 Exchanges | Anonymous Wallet Coming Soon on: May 24, 2014, 07:37:52 AM
So what is this coin doing that Darkcoin already hasn't done?
wallet will come out soon!

But what new features does this coin bring to the table?  I'm genuinely curious.

The main difference to my understanding would be that it should transition to Proof of Stake - or - it is a hybrid. Either way, there would be interest generated. 3.33% annually. I believe the wallet works like a super node for DRK, so, in theory there would be countless nodes for the P2P anon stuff to work. Darkcoin is my absolute favorite and I think you should own some, everyone should, but I do think this is the most interesting alternative new one. Dev is also using his real Bitcointalk.org ID, which is a step up from people using random new IDs and dumping the coins and moving on. So, seems a better chance this guy will make it and stick around.
1760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS - no IPO| 3 Exchanges | Anonymous Wallet Coming Soon on: May 24, 2014, 06:28:29 AM

We need to seize the opportunity the dev has built...I am currently the largest known coin holder in six different alt coins in the top 30 on coimmarketcap. I have reinvested 100's of btc in the coins I hold through donations to the cause. I would like to take a long term position here but the situation I laid will happen here. I am in xc now for trading the anon news, weather or not i stay depends on if the change is made. I would like us all to make money together, but if you are not willing to build this coin into a powerhouse and in doing so make a killing...i will make a my money and leave.

i can not agree with veritasBS anymore.

more anon coins are coming!

we have to seize the opportunity!

on the flip side, all the FAST distro POW' and then POS coins have failed too

If the wallet holding XC generates revenue like DRK masternodes, I will definitely be holding some. (I think that is what you were explaining earlier) Along with the POS, and potentially increasing value, I really like this one.
