I'm just home from a fruitful meeting @Bitsend office in Dronten.
We had a nice talk and I have 100% fait in what they are doing.

Proof of Cake? I don't mind cheap prices, will pick up some more when I get some extra BTC for it.

Testing of V 1.2.8 is going well, and we will ninja launch on you guys soon.
At which point, we will be added to Bittrex and Cryptsy.

Releasing at least V 1.2 parity was needed because there is a wonky deposit / withdraw system using any versions older than V 1.2

V 1.2.8 is a major release for NHZ, and we need to be sure that nothing can go wrong, so we haven't been rushing things.
We all know that release dates are never a good idea...Recent example are Mintpal and Anoncoin.

We are taking NHZ from V 1.1.6 all the way up to V 1.2.8

Changes can be found here: https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/

We have also added many of our own code improvements and addressed many security / transaction bugs that were left over from the old NXT versions.

The landing page with a '3 click' to set up wallet + information guides and videos + faucet and a standard NHZ FAQ, as well as some information about how NHZ interacts on the Blocknet will be present.
We are also putting the final touches on our new wallet UI.

Hi Pizpie,

meanwhile, the announcement of the new 1.2.8 release is 6 weeks ago.
Are there any news?
When can we expect the new version?

No answer is also an answer  Sad

I know it is in process, but I suspect the new website will be finished before the update is out. We do need the update to get on other exchanges, and I wish it was already done myself. We are adding some more people to help, so hopefully things get a bit faster over time.
1524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RPCD] Rand Paul Coin (Deflationary) on: November 26, 2014, 07:30:44 PM

The 13 delegates is up in the air. We might double it and recommend people run 2 keys in a miner for starters. There is discussion now about whether delegate # can be changed without a hardfork. If it requires a hardfork the delegate # itself may be increased to something like... 23?

I'm intrigued by the possibility of fewer delegates, but keep in mind that fewer delegates means fewer bitAsset price feeds, which means the median feed price will be easier to manipulate.

It is agreed but there is also the problem of not having dedicated block-signers. With a community that starts out small it is hard to identify unique actors. We will likely start out the official chain with roughly what the testnet starts out with.

It seems likely to me I will go over to bitsharestalk.org and court people who wish to run delegates. I will likely keep this thread here as main support thread instead of another forum.

If there are 25 delegates and 8 are up for grabs because no one is pursuing the role, then what?  One person could snatch up those 8 delegates and move their price feed to the ceiling or floor. That would likely affect the median price substantially. The alternative is to have people run multiple delegates which isn't particularly bad.

I like the idea of more delegates/miners - how are they determined? Is it by the largest holders or people willing to dedicate some resources?

Yes this one, with the different color and variations, it does fit with research chems and is unique enough from Breaking Bad I think. Certainly my favorite alternative from the original placeholder.
1526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Euphoria X13 asset backed Buy research chemicals WEBSTORE LIVE on: November 26, 2014, 06:38:19 PM
I don't see any copyright issues there. breaking bad don't own the periodic table.

Sure they dont own the periodic table...but the design colors, smoke, etc are exactly like Breaking Bad. Just change it up a little so its not exactly like BB.

Will change it in 5 mins and ill post it  Cool

Edited my post with the different variants, made basic ones and a few blue ones.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=863799.msg9663537#msg9663537

purple/blue one with smoke looks cool

I don't see any copyright issues there. breaking bad don't own the periodic table.

The Breaking Bad one does look good, of course that is more associated with Meth/Crime, and the placeholder one people obviously would think of MDMA or rave parties, or legal highs.
1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RPCD] Rand Paul Coin (Deflationary) on: November 26, 2014, 04:42:17 PM

The snapshot is approaching. PLEASE remove your coins off Cryptsy ASAP.  We are less than 24 hours away.

Please keep the suggestions flowing.  I have been unfortunately busy with previous commitments.

There is discussion over at pts.cubeconnex.com if anyone is interesting about the project that has picked up the torch for Protoshares.

I am seriously considering renaming the coin to Paul Coin Deflationary. Although this sounds Biblical.

I'm still not entirely sure about Randall. It would be nice to have the coin have a reason to be around if his Presidential candidacy fails.

Rond Paul Coin or is that stupid?

I would just stick with Rand Paul Coin. That makes it current, and if the candidacy succeeds or even has a good run, RPCD could be huge.

Well after seeing how much shit has arrived on this thread recently, I am now sure that it is a good investment and "moon bound"

To bad for the rest of you who seem unable to see a good deal when it comes along....

My last order filled, staking all my coins now.

200000 premine...
this is going to be painful, at some point Smiley

They are paying bounties with the premine, and if you look at the price, it isn't very expensive to just buy that much right now. /shrug

In my estimation if it were as scam they could have just gone with an ICO and done much better. Website looks polished, no red flags for that I was looking for, looks like a real site... and the dev seems pretty cool. So I actually like this one and hope it works out.
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Euphoria X13 asset backed Buy research chemicals WEBSTORE LIVE on: November 26, 2014, 01:51:56 PM
I'm sorry to say, none of these logos look decent enough to replace the dev's original placeholder design. Dev, you may want to look for more options using a logo bounty site like 48hourslogo.

I've got a professional designer in-house, and she's pretty busy but I'll see if I can get her to submit a proper coin icon and logo tonight.

I actually like the original logo quite a bit, maybe just polish it up?

listen=1
addnode=130.193.81.218

Likely obvious for many, but I put this in the .conf file I created in and the wallet synched right up. I had to save it as euphoria.conf rather than euphoriacoin.conf (osx) - then just put it in there next to where the wallet.dat file is hidden.
1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Euphoria X13 asset backed Buy legal highs/research chemicals WEBSTORE LIVE on: November 25, 2014, 05:45:10 PM
I think this one is interesting myself, for trading... The problem with a lot of these commodity coins are the costs of actually backing them. Of course research chems are not for human consumption and you should never do drugs, and so on, but in theory one could actually back the supply of this without some insane investment. I see no logistical problems if one wanted to really do this, assuming they purchased in bulk. Now, I have no idea if this is legit or not, but the website looks like a standard site with disclaimers of where it is not legal to ship. Anyway, I am gambling a little on it. I know it is risky buying early, but if it is real I think it could do quite well.
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: November 24, 2014, 05:52:12 PM
As demand rises...

I had to surgically extract this short little phrase out of your commentary being that for me it represents the elephant in the room right there.

I can see how the supply can be managed ok. It's the "as demand rises..." bit that seems to trip off everybody's a bit too easily. Where is that demand going to come from ? eBay has an operating income of over $3 billion dollars. Taking market share off them will be like pulling teeth because the nature of auction markets is such that the bigger the audience for your auction, the higher the price you can sell your stuff at.

Where's the "demand" half of the price equation going to come from for Bitbay markets ? How will people be encouraged to adopt ? I can only see 2 answers but I'm absolutely open to other suggestions if I've missed them:

[1] - create new markets which exclusively use Bitbay

[2] - get existing ones (like eBay & Alibaba) to adopt your coin as a currency and sell the idea that they can extend their platform feature set based on the coin's bockchain

In either case the offering must swing on features that users can't get elsewhere. What would those features be and what prevents a counterparty with huge infrastructure like eBay from implementing them ?

The basic appeal of a cryptocurrency is twofold:

 - you ditch the counterparty (banks)
 - you get your hands on unlevered base money (which you don't do with fiat money)

I can see one area where that appeal translates to bitbay - in attracting users who don't have access to bank accounts and therefore can't get registered on eBay. That's one clear, well delineated group of potential adopters. What are the others ?

I know a lot about Ebay and international markets. The disadvantage Paypal and Ebay have is they only serve a small fraction of the world. Their system is based too much on credit and is filled with scams, especially internationally. I have done tens of thousands of international sales, and seen every scam you can imagine used against us via Paypal, and that is from the "safe" countries. Something like a trustless smart contract system, like Bitbay appears to be offering, in theory could do what Ebay and Paypal can't. Sell to the entire world without risk, rather than 20% of the world with high risk. That is an appealing possibility for online international merchants. Not to mention without the combined 15%+ cut they (Ebay+Paypal) take, which is extreme enough to eat up most all the profits.
1535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mBTC@20 Thoughts on mBTC for ATMs and mass Bitcoin adoption by the public on: November 24, 2014, 04:22:57 AM
The main options as I see it, are we get it everywhere and do what is needed for that to happen, or we keep it niche and hope more people join the niche. Those are the key choices.

Im happy with 1%

More coins = higher chance of decline in value

I agree. I would much rather they add value than just increase the interest.
1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: November 19, 2014, 10:13:14 PM
Smart contracts are not in any of those projects you mentioned. First off, Etherium doesnt exist and has scaling issues(bloat). Etherium also said there is a chance they will never exist. It was in the disclaimer that nobody read. Counterparty only released an article and their implementation is too bulky on the blockchain.....Since Bitbay is joining with Halo, BitBay will be getting all of these resources.

This was very interesting. I wasn't aware of half that stuff.

Thanks for posting.

I read the entire TOS for Ethereum, 28 pages of "not responsible for anything no matter what" - That is one reason I didn't buy any.

What I also like more about Bitbay, a lot, is simply the branding. Simple and likely effective.
1538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: November 19, 2014, 05:47:53 PM
Smart Contracts are in NXT, Ethereum and Bitshares also and the decentrilized market place is also there. Why then BitBay ?

Because nobody has actually won the race to real world implementation yet. (Actual use of any importance) Bitbay isn't the only one I own, but I think it is a solid option and cheap.
1539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGED] DogeCoinDark [POD] - Scrypt - Global Darknet is LIVE! UNTRACEABLE! on: November 19, 2014, 04:45:28 PM
Something to also consider is how they look on coinmarketcap, very small.

valid point!

i did a couple of logos myself and would always try "the more simple the better".
at the moment it is way to crowded for a "logo" or a coin graphic.

it's more something like an illustration or a collage, good effort tho.
think of the bitcoin logo or corporate stuff which works in all sizes.

i would say it should be black as the main color and a white or yellowish inverted shibe - thats it.

no name or tor onions or other network logos...

you can use all those extra things in a nice background... with the DOGED logo floating on top.

you got doged.

If you look at all the top coins you will see that the logos are visible on coinmarketcap. All the major company logos in the world are also fairly simple. Very good reasons for this. If you look at coins ranked 100-400, you see a lot more "interesting" designs, but it is just sort of a blur on coinmarketcap - which is 90% of what people will ever notice. Just depends on how far you want to take it. (As I bought some, obviously I am interested in it being more successful)

If you want to know a bit more about the lead dev, here is some detailed information. This is primarily why I am a buyer here. The unknowns are the people he is working with, but assuming they are for real, Bitbay might be a massive success. I am thinking about buying more actually.
