1441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean | Innovative PoS | Scalability | No IPO | No premine on: February 16, 2015, 09:16:56 PM
just picked up a mill, could be good

I like it, the POS design is interesting, and the 20MB block size modified Bitcoin core makes this into a useful experiment I think. Some POS coins have done very well. Mining myself, and bought a bit.

1443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Earthcoin a scam? on: February 14, 2015, 12:57:14 AM
Well, apparently Earthcoin is still alive and kicking so it's possibly not a scam http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/earthcoin/ $ 30 000 in volume.

Just because a coin is pumped doesn't mean it isn't a scam. I recall calling the gold merchant they said accepted Earthcoin way back at launch, they had no idea what an earthcoin was. Technically it is a good sign is stuff like this is being pumped though, maybe the ICO instascam stuff is running out of steam, and that is far worse.
1444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SEND] Sendcoin & SendChat Messaging App Crowdfund [BLOCKTRUST] on: February 09, 2015, 02:43:38 AM
Got my refund from Blocktrust. Never had an escrow actually need to be used before, ever. Although times are harsh and people will use whatever FUD they can, a shame, as the devs are ones that make deadlines and it likely would have done well.
1445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SEND] Sendcoin & SendChat Messaging App Crowdfund [BLOCKTRUST] on: February 06, 2015, 09:42:41 PM
hey guys noticed some fud floating around, it's no problem, transparent as we can be... some people will always spread lies!

This was released from you friend. No FUD. You really think someone would take the time to research your life, writing style, history, to fabricate three separate detailed chat logs?

Let the members of the community be the judge of that. Also, why do you keep removing my posts if you're "fully transparent"?

http://textuploader.com/6js8

I'm not removing anything, we want this crowdfund to be a success to continue building sendchat, your non stop bashing of sendchat on btc talk and reddit, shows you have some ulterior motives.

Want to lie some more?

i.imgur.com/OwJDn0z.png -- you're the topic starter, right? You deleted 4 posts. My motive is to prevent people from losing money to people like you.

do you save people for free? at least give us your sendcoin address we will give you some as payment for our gratitude

The annoying part is how mundane that old text chat looks, it is not even very exciting, and about some other coin months ago. Some person on the team was involved in some other coin in the past. Some anon person with a newbie account likely heavily invested in the competition is here to save everyone. Gee, thanks. Smiley
1446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HZ] Horizon Long + Fair Distribution|Decentralized Asset Exchange on: February 05, 2015, 09:11:00 PM
Could someone please supply CoinGecko with the new Horizon Logo?  Kiss

They don't seem to have one.  Cry

https://www.coingecko.com/en?page=3

Logo needs to be supplied, but who will do it.

Well, hopefully our illustrious dev-team will spring into action!!  Shocked

I will let Malach know, thanks.
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RPCD] Rand Paul Coin (Deflationary) on: January 27, 2015, 09:34:10 PM
How is this still a thing?

Rand Paul would never get on the crypto bandwagon unless the Obama Administration decided to make it illegal.

And that is not going to happen.

Well it hasn't been launched so it will be a Ron Paul currency. Rand Paul is too center Republican for my preferences and if he doesn't make President then the name is bad. Ron Paul is an exceptionally principled person. Rarely in history does such a principled man make it so far even if he was still cut down by the established "conservative" party.

So we are going with RonPaulMoney but I am not starting a new thread until I have a live chain ready to release or at least a testnet.

RonPaulMoney will allow crypto-currencies of the dollar pegged to silver and gold. It has many excellent features but for a coin to be pegged to anything, a free market value has to be established for price discovery. So I will like create an quasi-automated gateway where people can trade their RPMs on a decentralized market. From here we bootstrap and then get buyin from other exchanges.  Possibly make another exchange for NXT. It isn't ideal but since I'm head benevolent dictator at this point in the code for a coin that has 0 value, I'm going to take on centralized trust early on. Yes, this is not ideal. THe other option is legitimate cross-chain trading which is too pie in the sky.

Regardless BitShares still has too many problems at the moment in addition to the fact that they're revamping to GUI. That is a good thing but for a guy like me who is basically rereleasing their code with some hopefully relatively simple and sustainable changes it is not so greaet. I was considering releasing .5 as a live chain but it will likely be .6 or later.  There isn't any reason to have people learn an old antiquated UI experience and then have it ripped out from under them.  So I'll implementing the features etc for now then put up a testnet for people to try.

So yea, there are going to be delays.  No pump and dump action here if that is your game.

Glad you are still working on it Smiley
1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who cares if Bitcoin goes mainstream? on: January 26, 2015, 01:51:05 PM
I care. More than getting "rich" off the few BTC I have, just to silence the Bitcoin hating trolls. Priceless. They are already getting quieter even now.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RibbitRewards - World's first blockchain rewards program [Airdrop is now!] on: January 26, 2015, 06:25:49 AM
http://ribbit.me/partners

I run the Crypto Currency Collectors Club, around 4200 of us. We are just one of the many partners for Ribbit. All real people, very serious. This is definitely long term. These are also some of the most positive people I have ever met in cryptos, actually, they are. The polar opposite of what we have been fed with all the rest for so long.
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RibbitRewards - World's first blockchain rewards program [Airdrop is now!] on: January 26, 2015, 06:19:45 AM
how many total coins supply is it 200m?

1B at launch 500M per year forever. So since RibbitRewards are part of a Rewards Program we decided to do it this way.

At 100 satoshi - current value, 1 Million coins = 100 BTC, 1000 Million coins (1 Billion premined coins) = 10000 BTC's (Yes 10K BTC's)

Even if the price goes to 1 satoshi, Developer can dump his 1 Billion premined coins for 10 BTC

Sheeps buying this coin to make the developer/team mega rich deserve the bag.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Do some research, I have known the team for a long time, Greg was a very successful trader (real, not cryptos) and 10 BTC is nothing, they put massive investment into this already. They are building an extremely expensive P2P marketplace. This is not some PnD, seriously, check into it more. Wink They have around 14 thousand people signed up so far, they are going mainstream with this.
1451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RibbitRewards - World's first blockchain rewards program [Airdrop is now!] on: January 19, 2015, 11:25:58 PM
This is a good one, great team and very focused on bringing cryptos mainstream. This is sort of like credit card rewards, and they are funding some solid stuff. Likely worth getting some cheap and then waiting for the rest to be built.
1452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork off on: January 19, 2015, 02:08:44 PM
One thing to note is that Mircea is highly critical of Andreas Antonopoulous and Gavin Andresen. "Critical" as in, trying to make them look bad and calling them names.

I for one hold Andreas in very high regard and do not appreciate that.
And I like Gavin too. I think they are both doing their best to aid the Bitcoin space.
Andreas talked to the Canadian senate and encouraged them to delay regulations for crying out loud.

Mircea says: "Andreas Antonopoulous thought he was very important before his untimely death."  (This statement doesn't even make sense as Andreas is more popular than ever)
Mircea says: "Gavin Andresen, known principally for his costumed clown services, where he goes to various conferences dressed as this or that for the amusement of the participants."

What the...?

Mircea is like a rebel tyrant.

I trust Andreas and Gavin myself, I say fork it.
1453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HZ] Horizon Long + Fair Distribution|Decentralized Asset Exchange on: January 18, 2015, 01:08:49 PM
There is no way 6000+ nodes are running.

https://explorer.horizonplatform.io/?page=graphs&graph=nodes&offset=30d

What the hell is going on here? Looks fishy to me tbh.

Well Pizpie did say that the graph is not accurate and that they are working on a fix.

Since the daily node bounty is 1 mil HZ, last individual payout I got was around 382HZ, which means there are some 2600 nodes running

Btw, what is up with nodes? I see 6+k on the graph, yet my last payment was 350+ HZ

+1 )

Node graph is not accurate. Working on a fix.

I was away for the past week, setting up at a new place. I'll get some updates out once I recap from everyone else.

Explorer has been fixed in the time being.

That sounds about right, there was some group in China running a lot of nodes, and dumping. I think they are gone now.
1454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GEO] GeoCoin | GIS & GeoTechnologies on: January 17, 2015, 08:41:08 PM
Qubit is a very good choice, and a .5% premine is infinitely better than any level of ICO. I am curious what connections to GIS & Geotechnologies the dev(s) have however.

This is forked from Shadow? I guess the wallet will look nice. I think Checkcoin was based on early Darkcoin? (suppose it doesn't matter)
1455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGED] DogeCoinDark [POD] - Scrypt - Global Darknet is LIVE! UNTRACEABLE! on: January 17, 2015, 12:04:52 PM
we had 71 listeners on the radio show last night  Grin

The radio show actually plays almost all the music I like.

They have enough determination here that I will keep mining it, and who knows, maybe a super cheap and fun anon doge coin will be popular some day. Stranger things have happened, and if they won over someone as jaded as I am, anything is possible.
1456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trade your nubits to BitUSD on bter.com NOW, before they become worthless! on: January 17, 2015, 06:55:57 AM
Is this real news?
Btw i think its not. Because if they had millions of usd worth of btc dumped on them, then that means people bought nubits. which is good.
i think you are making FUD.

Yep, they had millions worth of BTC dumped on them. That means that when BTC went from 300 to 200, they held BTC and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in value.

If people try to get out of NuBits now, then they will suddenly find that there is not enough BTC to cover the bought NuBits at this lower price. Suddenly the buy wall will disappear and your NuBits will be worthless. The only way you can have a safe peg is if the collateral is locked on the blockchain where you can see it and evaluate the risk!

I'm absolutely making FUD, yes. But until there is cryptographic proof that NuBits' "trusted" custodians are solvent, then my FUD is true. NuBits is operating as a fractional reserve.

is there proof that they are insolvent tho?

Of course not. This person does not even understand what "true" means. It is also a huge turn off seeing all this FUD coming out of Bitshares. Some of their holders are acting like a second rate anoncoin, unprofessional, childish, and unappealing for serious investors.
1457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cleanup: I'll attack some coins - I owned APEXcoin for 90 blocks on: January 17, 2015, 12:07:39 AM
Just what we need after Bitcoin is crashing and people are afraid of hacking, make people afraid of alts and Bitcoin, so they use Apple Pay. Brilliant.

If there are vulnerabilities, maybe inform legit people of them so they can try to repair them, instead of running some new scam?

Bought some more today, 4 sat sell wall down for the moment on coin swap Wink

The app is really fast now, nice work! I also love all the design improvements ongoing. Smiley
1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: January 05, 2015, 06:11:39 PM
Decentralized exchanges are the future, and NXT is the one with best options for it.
