1763  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] BFL 65nm ASIC minirig - First ever delivered on: June 20, 2014, 07:01:20 PM
Absolutely blows me away that I'm watching one of these things being auctioned off for so little.  Incredible how rapidly ASIC technology has (and continues to) advance.
1764  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] $10 of BTC on: June 20, 2014, 06:52:39 PM

1765  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 16XAntminer S1 on: June 20, 2014, 06:49:05 PM
This seems like a pretty fair price actually.  I'm sure you'll find some interest with that deal.
1766  Economy / Speculation / Re: Google Wallet + Facebook apply for banking license on: June 20, 2014, 06:44:49 PM
Sounds like the Canadians just know a good thing when they see it!

Pretty smart fellers those Canadian's eh Wink
1767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why satoshi is gone? on: June 20, 2014, 06:39:21 PM
I did hear a rumor somewhere that Satoshi was only 13 when he/she created bitcoin, now that he/she would be 17/18 perhaps they got their license.  We all know what happens when we first get our license now!
1768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is China so important for Bitcoin? on: June 20, 2014, 06:34:58 PM
Personally I think it's more a matter of the peoples mindset.  The Chinese seem to have the concept of savings down to an art form.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if the government of China itself had a fairly large stash of coin's tucked away somewhere.

*Though I don't think Chinese adoption is critical to bitcoin I know it would certainly speed things along considerably.
1769  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Karpeles back to living large in one of the most expensive apartments in Tokyo on: June 20, 2014, 06:30:44 PM
Pretty swanky looking place there.  Although I think he's going to need to get a much larger toilet!  Pretty disgusted by the behavior of this guy.  The tweets are bad enough.  My hats off to Andreas for speaking his piece in that CoinDesk article.
1770  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-19] ABN Amro (and others) are experimenting with Bitcoin on: June 20, 2014, 05:41:45 PM
Presuming that any of the OP is actually true, and if one or more smaller banks do decide to integrate BTC to some degree.  Which of the two scenarios do you guys anticipate playing out:
1.) Immediate move by the big banks to crush whatever smalltime player is trying to bring the world of crypto and fiat together at the banking level.
        or
2.) A domino affect in which most if not all of the subsequent larger banks begin accepting BTC out of necessity just to remain competitive?

My guess: Hoping for 2 but guessing first actual attempt might suffer the #1 scenario.
1771  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-20] Wired: Mt. Gox CEO Returns to Twitter, Infuriates Burned Investors on: June 20, 2014, 05:37:11 PM
“He continues to be oblivious about his own failure and the pain he has caused others,” says Andreas Antonopoulos, the CSO with bitcoin wallet-maker Blockchain who helped Karpeles with some technical issues as Mt. Gox was collapsing. “He is confirming that he is a self-absorbed narcissist with an inflated sense of self-confidence who has no remorse.”

Leave it to Andreas to tell it like it is.  Hard to believe he's showing himself et all imho.  Absolutely amazing and not in a good way.
1772  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 20, 2014, 05:30:07 PM
Unfortunately I too have to agree that peta should be lowering power/hosting costs even further.  Given the fact that entire operation is run on some huge solar/hydro energy plant somewhere it seems as though they should be able to bring electric/hosting fee's down quite a bit.  If something doesn't happen relatively soon I'm afraid all of these nay-sayers might just end up being right about long-term viability of petamine.

1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: June 20, 2014, 05:35:35 AM
Was just thinking about grabbing one of my old GPU rigs and firing it up to mine vertcoin to see whether or not I could turn a small profit.  This thread is exactly what I was hoping for to make things alot quicker.
1774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: .25BTC Auction Starter Giveaway! on: June 20, 2014, 05:25:00 AM
I have a few old school USB asic miners I've been considering selling.  Is there any limit to cost of items sold to be considered for entry?
1775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Win upto $200 in free Dogecoins every hour! on: June 20, 2014, 05:21:52 AM

1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 20, 2014, 04:43:38 AM
I agree with a good deal of the OP althought I would also add Securecoin, BlackCoin, and AnonCoin to the list as well.
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please Help Me -DogeCoin on: June 20, 2014, 04:41:00 AM
Dude...not worth it.  You won't get any higher, doesn't sound like you have a very burly laptop to begin with.  Additionally your going to regret it if you burn that puppy out.
1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: June 20, 2014, 04:33:06 AM
Absolutely love this site.  Amazing that there are currently 32 coin(s) with market-caps > $1,000,000

Think I've died and gone to heaven!
1779  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crossed 500 USD - Bull Market returns ? on: June 20, 2014, 04:29:40 AM
Somebody prepare a nice peppered side of crow for the good professor!  I wonder if he's one of those in the closet coin hoarders?
1780  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ideas for newbies to earn a little coin on: June 20, 2014, 04:27:04 AM
If you have IT-related skills consider posting something on a site like either coinality or similar.

Signature campaigns are a good way to earn a few satoshi's while getting to know the threads.

Auction threads if you have anything of value your wanting to sell for bitcoin.  All kinds of ways for you to earn some coins.
