imho there is 0 probability that difficulty will be dropping anytime soon
1442  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: July 03, 2014, 05:48:21 PM
The 10 BTC buy order at 0.000420 is quite appropriate Wink
I was wondering who that was :p
1443  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] SCRYPT 4 GH/s hosted scrypt mining project by CRYPTX on: July 03, 2014, 06:41:57 AM
NotLambchop is correct. The only ones making any profits are the chip manufactures. All these mining companies will be lucky if they cover their initial investment. The hash rate is simply going up too quickly.

The only mines that might make a small profit will be the ones in the places with the cheapest electricity. Washington State has rates as low as $0.02 a kwh. I believe BTC mines will move to those areas until ultimately they end up actually driving up the power rates in those areas. Mine operators will also need to be very efficient for their share-holders to make any profit.

The price graph for LTC is basically showing that its demand has fallen relative to BTC. Every week LTC is dropping. This means lower and lower dividends until ultimately only the hosting fee is covered.
Agree with everything in this post except the chip manufacturers part.  If you think cryptx and crew haven't made a killing on their scryptx and sha based projects with these hosting fee's your out of your right mind.

As for litecoin, imho unless something innovative coming out of the litecoin dev camp relatively soon I fear this downward price trend will continue.  Makes virtually 0 sense to ever mine LTC at this point given profitability ratios.
1444  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: You can now Buy Giftcards using any Alt-coin on: July 03, 2014, 05:39:21 AM
Ouch dude!  $20 worth of whatever_alt for a $10 gift card?  I can understand charging a reasonable fee that scales according to which alt-coin is selected for payment depending upon volatility of said coin.  But to basically only offer 50% on the USD crypto-dollar equivalent makes me think you won't be getting alot of traffic anytime soon.

Good luck to you though.
1445  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [IPO] CoinPal - Crypto-Currency Exchange & Profit Switching Mining Pool {NEW} on: July 03, 2014, 05:35:30 AM
Any guesses as to how much the dividend will be for when he releases it fellas?

My guess: 0.00003450 satoshi's/share (though I'm hoping it's considerably higher obviously)
1446  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: July 03, 2014, 05:27:45 AM
Is it just me or is Crypto::Stocks not displaying anything under the [ticker] column when displaying active order(s) you have in the system for anybody else?  I have several open buy and sell orders on various stocks and now can't tell which is which at a glance.  I'm wanting to cancel a couple of orders to I can add another buy order or two on cannabit Smiley

Yet only a single 2 satoshi/share dividend payout since this announcement and last dividend payout.  Not looking too good imho.
1448  Economy / Lending / Re: I've been hacked, and now I'm screwed (Can anyone help with a loan?) on: July 03, 2014, 01:21:54 AM
Really does my spirit good to see the community get together to help out with this.  Big kudos to the fella that took up the remaining slack...even if he is Australian :p

Have an amazing honeymoon guys! Smiley
1449  Economy / Securities / Re: [QUINTO] IPO on cryptostocks on: July 02, 2014, 07:33:57 PM
QuintoBTC, just skimmed through your most recent updates on both QUINTO and QBOND and I have a couple of concerns:

1.) Given the issue(s) you seem to be having with the original Quinto site at this point is it really wise to try and run yet another asset?
2.) What happens to QBOND investors if you don't end up winning?  Oh well?!

Have held onto my shares in the hopes you might actually get this thing to work but this is really looking highly suspect.
1450  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: July 02, 2014, 07:08:15 AM
Nice to see you back cannabit.  Appreciate the update.  Pictures look pretty damn amazing I must say!  Looking forward to seeing this thing really take off.

Will be trying to pick up a few more shares "on the cheap" Wink
1451  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] SCRYPT 3 GH/s hosted scrypt mining project by CRYPTX on: July 02, 2014, 05:39:08 AM
there was no mention of a buy out. Either this or let's wait for another buying opportunity.
This was the deal.

At current prices, 30btc gives you ~10% of this project.
Good time to buy cheap, but it will be impossible to sell shares if the value doesn't go back up.
40% loss? when? how?
why???
3 reasons as to how in my opinion:

1.) Ridiculously high hosting/admin fee's
2.) The fact that cryptx doesn't have ability to make their own chips and boards
3.) Ridiculously inadequate communication with shareholders

Thats BS, sorry too many say BS. I am not correct all the time. BUT, cryptx are best having a proper deal with the chip maker, getting the fastest chips and boards cheap. They can then make their won custom machines and add new chips as needed. That means each company specialises at what their good at, rather than biting more than they can chew.
I just dont understand how many many people sell at such a loss. I am waiting for the project to develop so I can get a good retrurn or my money back at least.

Bee atch.
lmao!!  Your right, easily 25-35% of what you put into it in the first place!  Good luck with that.

What a twat-waffle!

I only disagree with the chip making part - why would cryptx want the expense of something they do not currently excell in??. All else has pissed me off like losing my share value. Not a happy man.
Ahhh...so you think cryptx's communication post-ipo has been sufficient? and you don't believe 0.25/kw/h is a bit excessive?  You are far more forgiving than I sir.  One thing I definitely have in common with you though...not a happy camper myself.

Still own a few shares of both scryptx and cryptx but really loss my arse on his sha project.  Still hoping to see cryptx pull something outta the hat but honestly I don't see what incentive he could possibly have for doing so...oh yeah..how about long term viability.

Insofar as your disagreeing with my chip making comment...you are absolutely right...they shouldn't try embarking on something like this themselves...what they should do is take a couple hundred of the what thousands of bitcoins they've raised between scryptx and cryptx ipo's and hire an appropriate team in-house to develop said chips.  imho there is 0 chance of any mining asset ever really attaining true profitability at this point without in-house chip development.  Most successful mining IPO I've ever personally witnessed was AsicMiner.  Now even they are seriously struggling because of all the talented competition they now face.
1452  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin-trader.biz on: July 02, 2014, 02:54:26 AM
Thought I would go ahead and chime in with my beta-run result's thus far on the single $20 trading share that I purchased.

$20 trading share purchased on: 04/04/2014
trading share active until         : 08/02/2014
Trade earnings thus far           : $10.98 (or ~54.9% of original investment)

Bottom line...service doesn't seem to be nearly as beneficial as a simple buy and hold strategy would've been.  Of course, I could be singing a different tune if bitcoin tanks significantly before my Aug. 2 termination date.

Ok...I'm sold...registered to check you guys out.

username: nwfella

*Thought I would shoot you a little quick feedback on the site.  Overall I kinda like the design/layout, sort of reminds me of the "cloudy" feel of cex.io/ghash.io

Anyway, first thing I noticed was that several of the Popup window option selection's don't seem to display in English once I have selected that as my Display Language preference.

Second, spelling error under first drop-down menu, 4th option down has a mis-spelling.  Hash Moitor instead of 'Monitor'.

Third, and this is a biggie for me.  SMS 2FA capability only available for mainland China based numbers?!?!  This will discourage at least some (certainly me) from wanting to use your service I'm afraid.

Anyhoo, project looks interesting nonetheless.
1455  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - innovative professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service on: July 01, 2014, 07:56:33 AM
I think NiceHash is getting DDOSed.
Agreed...had my miners switch to secondary pool a little over an hour ago :/
1456  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: July 01, 2014, 07:45:00 AM
This does bring up something I've been thinking about.  At least PETA paid divs - can someone please tell me how 7th Continent, SeedFund (SF1), SMG, and especially CFIG are valued as anywhere near worth current holdings?

I've watched the CFIG share price float from 0.10 to 0.035, and even at 0.035 BTC/share, that values the project at 11,210 BTC or about $7 million.  There's no way they're worth anything near that, as its taken them about a year now to try and get the exchange site up and running.  Sure, they claim to be catering to a niche middle market, but some side project by Coinbase etc would completely wipe out their business plan.  And the site has a 10 second load time every time - worse than Havelock during even its heaviest server loads.

PETA was by no means the bottom of the barrel, although it could not guarantee investors what it could.  It'll be interesting to see what happens in the markets when investors start realizing that the other "solid offerings" on Havelock aren't all that they're hyped up to be either.
Beats the living crap outta me.  Lost satoshi's on several of the projects you mention myself.  As well as every single other stock I've invested in on Havelock.  Anyhoo, the dividends paid out by Cryptx thus far have helped somewhat but definitely doesn't take alotta the sting out when you actually finally get up the gumption to pull the trigger on sell order.  I did hold onto a few shares which is why I'll continue to watch this thread.  Boy, that was a rough one for me because I did so want to believe this project could not only succeed but flourish.  Ah well, no guts no glory right?
1457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Amazon for Bitcoin Payments on: July 01, 2014, 05:59:57 AM
No no no no - too big, too soon.

You're not thinking clearly. I'm very bearish about the future of bitcoin, but this would be a really good thing for bitcoin. Amazon isn't just a giant online marketplace, it also has huge cloud resources and enough IT horsepower to render needing dozens of other exchanges pretty moot.
Thought I had read something along similar lines somewhere myself.  Sounds as though Overstock CEO is pretty bullish on bitcoin in that case Wink

What exactly would Amazon do with the Bitcoins? They can't pay their employees or maintain their servers with it. Amazon would be the only major store taking Bitcoins. They would become bloated and Bitcoin would be worthless. Rick is right, it is too big and too soon. Economies need to cycle money and Amazon wouldn't have anywhere to put the Bitcoins after they have been paid.
Overstock accepts bitcoin and they keep 10% of bitcoin related profits on their books
1458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I plan on abandoning the U.S. Dollar almost entirely in the near future. on: July 01, 2014, 05:57:24 AM
Actually not sure I agree that it's all that crazy.  The way I understand it, once he secures his Xapo Debit credit card he should be able to essentially use it as if he would any other Debit card only it will draw from his Xapo BTC account at the time of purchase.  Somebody please let me know if I'm wrong on this but I think it's actually quite commendable.  Very much hoping to be able to do the same thing in within the next year or two Smiley
1459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Marshall's Bitcoin Auction Results on: June 30, 2014, 09:49:13 PM
Really interesting to me that bitcoin price has actually been going up.  I really suspected one or more big bag holders would try to induce some panic sell's to try and drive the price down in an effort to buy back in really low.

Will be interesting to see whether or not any of these winning bid's actually disclose any real figures insofar as what they paid at auction.
1460  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] SCRYPT 3 GH/s hosted scrypt mining project by CRYPTX on: June 29, 2014, 11:58:10 PM
60000/12 = 5000$ per unit.
33% hashing power increase means 33% dividend increase.
The current price is really happening on such a small volume that is not relevant. If I had more btc would have purchased all available up to ipo price.

This project is still good to go.
Smiley
I have a sneaking suspicion that if 5-6 weeks from now your still holding any of your cryptx-scrypt shares you'll actually be ecstatic that you where broke and couldn't purchase any more shares up to IPO price at the time you wrote this.
