1201  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: July 27, 2014, 07:44:17 PM
ok after reading nothing but nonsense, I give up on ever seeing a dime of my money back. This is nothing but a soup sandwhich. Goodbye 2k$ I spent. Simon barber I hope you rot in hell.
If this is true, and you have filed your claim, you can transfer your claim.   I will buy it.  PM me.   What did you buy for $2,000 from them though?
How does one file their claim?  I have an order in for upgraded BabyJet that I would like to get something back on.  I have already gone through the refund process at Hashfast, is there a bankruptcy specific filing that I now need to make?
1202  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Largest Bitcoin Mine In The UK on: July 27, 2014, 07:36:14 PM
That photoshopped mine image had me tripping there for a few.  Literally started thinking about how much 'dust' was going to be an issue...lmao  Well done!
1203  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-26] The Case for Merging Mexico’s Peso With Block Chain Technology on: July 27, 2014, 07:32:38 PM
Wouldn't it be fascinating if some 2nd or 3rd world nation did ultimately take the lead on something like this?  I suspect very quickly Mexico's economy would start improving drastically but I suspect there is far too much government corruption to allow anything like a truly decentralized currency to replace the Mexican Peso anytime soon.  Here's to hoping I'm wrong (again) Wink
1204  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014-01-24 - This is What it’s Like to Be a Woman at a Bitcoin Meetup on: July 27, 2014, 07:31:06 PM
Boy.  That's kind of a messed up first meeting.  Apologies but it's good that you realize that in his own sort of awkward way he was probably trying to pay you a compliment.  Thing you have to realize about most of us bitcoiners is that for the most part we are a fairly socially awkward and at times inept crew (especially in the presence of attractive women or any female for that matter).  Hopefully this won't discourage you from visiting other bitcoin meetups, I promise there are some really nice fellas involved with BTC too Smiley
1205  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] SCRYPT 4 GH/s hosted scrypt mining project by CRYPTX on: July 27, 2014, 06:57:20 PM
Then lets prepare an email here together and we send it ?

Sure, saying what?

ATM here are 5 ideas in this thread we could use to make the project better, which would give scrypt also more profit .

The only problem here of course is that cryptx's current way of doing things has worked out great for one party so far...  Cryptx himself.  After a proven history of overcharging on electric and hosting/admin fee's.  Followed up by some extremely poor 'reinvestment' decisions (back when reinvestment was still part of the equation on sha project) which obviously don't affect his hosting and electric fee's at all and poor communication the end result is clear.  CryptX and team are the only winners on this venture :/
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RDD] Reddcoin - The Social Currency- [PoSV] Official Release v1.3.0.0 on: July 27, 2014, 06:42:23 AM
Missed the boat on this coin - what makes it so special?

Seems like this coin is what dogecoin COULD have been if it was properly thought out and implemented.

This coin has a fairer distribution, better block halving schedule, soon to be POSv staking (which is the way of the future IMO), and most of all the reddtipbot implementation for tipping on Reddit!

I see a bright future for Reddcoin =)
Have to agree with this gentleman.  Reddcoin seem's to have quite a bit going for it.  Also interested in seeing what happens with the price once POSv kick's in Smiley
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICB] IcebergCoin ❄︎ FIRST NIST5 POW/POS ❄︎ NOW 100% POS ❄︎ on: July 27, 2014, 06:33:09 AM
Had considered picking up a few of these bad boys but putting that idea on 'ice' after having read the last few pages of this thread.
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PES] Pesa - Anonymous Coin - No Premine - Dynamic Interest - PoStr on: July 27, 2014, 06:27:29 AM
Was going to go ahead and pick up a few of these while waiting for wallet update.  Wasn't aware of the fact that Pesa wallet is offline pending the upgrade from dev. as well.  I suppose that makes perfect sense now that I give it some thought Tongue
1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: July 27, 2014, 06:15:08 AM
I sure do love the Keiser report but I gotta say his coin is just crappy!  No real vendor support and doesn't appear to be any real development taking place.  Really surprising considering who it's named after.  I would think he would be cracking the proverbial whip of innovation for the coin named in his honor.  Starting to think ole Maxy boy isn't really invested in his own coin at all.  He may be a bitcoin millionaire but apparently he isn't even a maxcoin hundredaire! :/
1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [HELP] Buying used computer to mine, but what specs should I look for? on: July 27, 2014, 06:10:38 AM
If your in the states sometimes you can find some pretty good deals for cheap systems on Goodwill auctions.

1211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is one GPU mining even feasible now? on: July 27, 2014, 06:08:12 AM
You asked if one GPU mining is feasible.

The problem isn't lying with 1 or 10 GPUs, but rather that generally speaking, GPU mining isn't profitable anymore unless you're really vigilant as Amph said.

Setting and forgetting doesn't cut it anymore (for the most part).
Care to expand on the for the most part part? Smiley
1212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ANN ### Project GRID - Miners Are Running #### on: July 27, 2014, 05:48:48 AM

what is happening with GRID dividend ?
the last one was the same as previous values, but over three weeks rather than 3 days .
were they turned off??

Not turned off.  Fasbit posted an update on July 19th:

"Ticker    FAS - Fasbit - Instant Mining
Date    19 Jul 09:21
FAS - Updates
I have been out of touch for the last 60 days due to work travel.  I'm back on top of everything and playing catch up.

1. Look for the Dividends to pick up pace.  I purchased and added 2 ANT Miners out of pocket to help compensate for any performance issues that might be attributed to lack of management on my side.  Both Ant miners are up and running and already making an impact.
2. We have 2.25 BTC in hardware reserve.  I will be spending that before the end of the Month.  Look for this to also pick up the results.  I am doing the research now to get the "best bang for the buck."
3. I still have a smal percentage of our miners off line due to overheating of my lease space.  I have moved most of the excess heat makers to my personal residence to help spread the heat out.  This issue should be 100 resolved in less than a week and this will also help boost the results.  I have upgraded electrical and AC to help absorb the influx.
./fasbit"

*fasbit, if your reading this it sure would be nice to hear you got those other gridseed's running.  Also, any chance of posting the public address for each of the 3 listings so we can essentially determine frequency/amount of dividend payouts?
1213  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-27] The Five: Should your business accept Bitcoin? Factors to weigh on: July 27, 2014, 04:59:12 AM
For US-based brick and mortar businesses it makes 0 sense not to start accepting bitcoin via Coinbase or BitPay.
1214  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC price is too high for it's current security model on: July 27, 2014, 04:57:40 AM
The new coins coming in everyday is clearly a major factor which prevents price rise and is costly for existing holders. All those in charge have also got big mining investments so they will not like to hear this.

Saw there were some initiatives on creating an exact chain as Bitcoin with some form of PoS. While it is impossible for it to happen now, things might change in a couple of years.
Yup.  Know a couple of people that are sweating the fact that these types of changes are even being discussed at any level.  Pretty funny the parallels between massive mining operations and the central banks they where meant to conquer.
1215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price to be US$3,500,000??? on: July 27, 2014, 04:52:48 AM
Bit coin will NEVER be worth $3m each. There you read it here first.
Sheeoout.  I'll even go out on a limb here and say bitcoin never even hit's a million.
1216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Thing about price dropping of BTC that people dont get on: July 27, 2014, 04:51:26 AM
i see not everybody accepts my statement. do u really believe big companies will hold BTC instead of selling?
theres even no wya for tchem to not sell sich without that they cant make invoices.
I believe some of them will yes.  Particularly the more forward-thinking libertarian types but bitcoin price will indeed continue to drop as more large vendors come online if the majority of those vendors just instantly cash out (which most will I suspect for a time).
1217  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is China Hoarding Gold? on: July 27, 2014, 04:46:31 AM
Basically China hoardes gold because it's a no lose situation for them.  Being one of the largest holders of USD debt as well as one of the largest stockpilers of gold put's them in a unique position to ultimately make a play on the USD as world reserve currency.  Just imagine Russian based oil sold for some Chinese denominated coin backed by actual gold?!  Stormy sea's on the horizon for our little Island of consumption I'm thinking.
1218  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for local transactions on: July 27, 2014, 04:43:16 AM
Try to do bitcoin transactions with individuals you don't kinow/trust in public, well-lit places.  Preferably with decent video surveillance going on.  I.E.  Shopping mall, high end restaurant, etc.
1219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what exchange do u use? on: July 27, 2014, 04:41:02 AM
Personally I love both btc-e and bitstamp but I went ahead and cast my vote for Cryptsy since I also use them and it appears as though they could use some votes.
1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: July 27, 2014, 04:36:23 AM
Certainly appears as though ReddCoin (RDD) is certainly making a run for the money.  Serious community support with the coin as well.  I picked up a few days back and am quite happy with the direction the coin seems to be taking.
