1761  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Chinese look at the situation in China on: May 12, 2014, 03:44:32 PM
Another question for you zhangweiwu:

One of your articles discusses the notion that if "bitcoin remains small, the Chinese exchanges will be allowed to live."

So in that context, if the Chinese exchange operators know this, then how do you know that it's not the Chinese exchange operators themselves that are spreading false bitcoin news to incite panic and keep the price suppressed?  Or perhaps even using other immoral or shady means to do so?  Wouldn't it be in their best interests that the bitcoin price never rises ever again, and a rally never happen again, so that they get to stay in the PBOC's good graces and thus stay in business indefinitely?  I would think that they really don't care what the btc exchange rate is, as long as the fees keep coming in and they are not shut down.

I too would be interested in the answer to this question. I think its difficult to get a hold of how big Bitcoin actually is in any country and also how much money exchanges are actually dealing with.

At the end of the day an exchange may do $1mm of a trade a day but most of that is internal database stuff, the actual amount coming into and out of the exchange is likely nowhere near that an I wouldn't of thought it would even be enough to get central government interested.

In my humble opinion notlambchop's either a professional troll or a genuine c**t!  Smiley

We'll go with both and leave it at that   Wink

...grow some balls put a face to your name if your going to slander someone.

Ok, Mr.dreamspark.  Hippy parents, I take it?

Not sure what your trying to say but okay...

You are asking people to offer their real names and pics on an anonymous internet forum before posting their opinions.  While posting an opinion under a pseudonym without an attached selfie.  Get it now, Anon?

No, try again.

I'm asking people who throw out slander and attempt to defame people for no good reason, call someone a bad businessman and insinuating that they are better/ more successful to back themselves up and not hide behind a pseudo anon identity. Particularly when dealing with someone who is doing the exact opposite of that.

Am I doing any of those things? No

If I was I'd have the balls to put a face to a name and not hide behind a computer like a 10 year old.

EDIT: Discredit the entire thread ? What planet are you living on. Please point to the part where I asked how this guy's mental state is relevant to the thread where he doles out financial advice....

...
I fail to see what that has to do with "Bitcoin price movement tracking and discussion"  Smiley
...

When a mental patient gives out financial advice, take it with a grain of salt.
Work for you?

No it doesn't actually.

It might sound tongue in cheek, but I believe there are plenty of people - not necessarily rpietila - who would be considered ripe for a mental institution but who have particularly keen insight in certain respects. It seems quite obvious to me that these things can often go hand in hand: a person has an unusually large part of their concentration focussed on one thing, leaving less of their mind or personality for the rest.

When his advice is clearly fueled by manic episodes, after which he ends up hospitalized?

Also SATAN!1!

Great, so don't take the advice, anyone who takes advice from someone on the internet is an idiot.

I fail to see how this affects your life.

1767  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 12, 2014, 01:50:49 PM
Why does every thread in which Rpietila post turns into a discussion about Rpietila ?

Haterz gon' hate.

Makes me laugh, people trying to discredit him behind an anonymous nickname, grow some balls put a face to your name if your going to slander someone.

If everything in China has been leveraged to the hill, when it all settles we could easily see insolvent exchanges.

Sounds like Huobi is in full zero-reserve-mode.

Do you have a source for this ?

How to deposit MRO to cryptonote. I can't find my MRO deposit address
Can somebody help me

cryptonote.exchange.to

Under deposit for cryptonote currencies select MRO then your amount.

Next click generate deposit address and then copy that command to your simple wallet window.

The reason its like this is to prevent mistakes when sending so doing this generates the whole transfer code.

think you very much...
It's too hard for the people who english is poor just like me..
hope the wallet GUI coming soon..

GUI is available to test, but if you dont know what your doing I would wait.
1771  Other / Off-topic / Re: Oscar Pistorius case on: May 12, 2014, 12:44:46 PM

When is the verdict for Pistorius?

Last witnesses will be called in a week or so and judge should pass the verdict at the end of the month. I am quite convinced he will get away with culpable homicide and the sentence will be left at the judge discretion so 2 years maybe 5 max, or he will be ordered to do community work for the rest of his life which he is involved with anyways.

Really? What makes you think that he will just get that?

Thats not to mention the fact that you wont get scammed etc etc.

I don't think you are going to get scammed by Kozi (just my uninformed opinion though), but it being an exchange most certainly does not mean you want get scammed. Some of the biggest scams in the history of crypto coins have been exchanges.

I mean in terms of not receiving coins after sending first etc ( ). With an exchange when you do a trade it happens, getting coins in and out different story obviously.

Its not comparable to an escrow where a single person has to be online and a single person updates trades, you can see the trades actually happening.

Kozi will not scam anyone 100%.

There are trade offs. The issue with an exchange especially when it has slow and expensive withdrawals is that you have to leave your coins on there, especially if you have open orders. With p2p trading you can hold on to your coins until you are actually ready to make a trade. Other people holding your coins is risky, in fact from experience often much riskier than it appears to be.

That risk is much smaller than being scammed P2P when you know the guy running the exchange. Anyway both have their place and people are free to make their choices.

I just find it funny when people are crying for an exchange especially this skybot guy who was moaning about fake bids and when a very good well written one comes along people want to moan about it, well yeah of course its going to take some time to get it all automated etc its a brand new exchange written from scratch!

We only beta tested it a couple of days ago, Kozi has many more features that people will like disabled until he knows its all 100% but bitching about slow withdrawals on a a day old exchange is asinine.

Today Bitpay is coming with a huuuuuge announcement right?

http://tech.sina.com.cn/i/2014-05-12/07139373191.shtml

china has a cooler floating already

Not quite sure what its saying but the part about FXBTC not allowing users to remove coins etc is scary.

The rest of it just seems to be saying the same as we know, especially about leveraged trading.
1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MRO Monero trading thread and OTC xchg (bid 100 ask 110 last 100) on: May 12, 2014, 10:10:47 AM

Simple question, why make a site that a thread handles better?

There now stop trying to sound like its all sound and logical to run such exchange.

It wont last long if it continues at this rate when its only one person running and handling withdrawals manually.

its useless and only for the bounty which should not be considered for it as its just a site to LIST not exchange as it should.

LOL, how can you compare an exchange to a thread.

Yesterday you were moaning about fake bids etc well the advantage of an exchange is there are no fake bids as you can sell into them until your hearts content.

Thats not to mention the fact that you wont get scammed etc etc.
