BCX stated that he talked with Cryptsy and it will be added as soon as they figure out how.
Expect a large price increase when this happens.

Expect a price erosion when this happens. Everybody knows what it means when a coin is listed on Craptsy. Its crowded with big pocket pimps playing the PnD game the whole long day. They dont give a shit about any long term prospects. Its no wonder that its the last exchange to add XMR. they dont have any capable coders to add a non BTC-clone coin, only pimps.

It doesn't matter, Poloniex already capture the largest volume and cryptsy wont do a bigger 'damage' than mintpal already did.
btw i doubt cryptsy will add only XMR, expect BBR, QCN, BCN and others...

I'd second this sentiment, Cryptsy will get little volume in my opinion as Polo has become the go to place for XMR trading. The market is also more mature and there are much bigger players involved. Mintpal was an obvious pump and dump as seen by the amount of BTC pledged to add it.

most likey a larger miner will buy it with cash converted to bitcoin

not many bitcoiners know how to run a gold mine

No one will convert cash to BTC they will just pay with cash, the BTC thing is like free advertising.

smells more and more like a bear trap.

108 BTC @ $581, let's hope this rebund doesn't turn into a full blown bull trap!  Tongue

Nope, that got dispatched fairly quickly.

Seems there is still plenty of selling pressure and the dumpers aren't done yet.

When will people learn that privacy doesn't attract criminals?
The criminals are already out there, they will do the bad things no matter if they have privacy or not.
Privacy is a human right and if we would have more privacy I believe the world would be a better place.

Yes, but altcoins are grest opportunity for criminals to hide their operations(in compare with fiat money)...

Do you realise that altcoins are one of the worst opportunities for criminals to hide their operations.

I cba to explain but I'll start with;

Terrible Liquidity
Insane Volatility
Incredibly Manipulated

Seriously though, fixing this cost almost 3 BTC:

https://twitter.com/JustusRanvier/status/475740436192296960

Considering the future value of those coins, she's got to be the most expensive dog in history.

Holy shit that is awfull!

Hope your pooch is feeling better.

3BTC seems like a bargain for the sort of vet bills that could demand.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Timothy Coles is Selling His $2 Million Gold Mine for Bitcoin on: July 28, 2014, 03:03:38 PM
In theory a good hedge but mining for gold is not a simple process sans domain expertise and tech investment
Let's wait and see how this plays out

This is absolutely true, hence why you might want to take him up on the offer of his willingness to stay on to manage the property for up to five years to ensure the operation runs smoothly  Wink
887  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 28, 2014, 02:26:49 PM
What just happened?

Not sure if actual question but:

Guy is flashing 1.3k ask wall @ 577ish; someone decides to market order to $580, then ask wall comes back..
So hes flashing a wall to try get the price to go lower?

Yeah basically.

I bet chart buddy is gonna show an interesting chart next time, the depth is skewed like I havent seen in a while.
888  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 28, 2014, 01:33:45 PM
Well the dumpers seem pretty sure we're going down but the asks really aren't filling in.
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (MRO) Speculation thread on: July 28, 2014, 12:06:45 PM
If anyone truly thought that 0.0039 was too high, how about selling to it?

After all, it is a full 70% higher than the last low! The wall has been there for days.

No takers?

Perhaps the shorts are soon feeling the heat. 100,000 xmr needs to be bought back, would take the price to 0.008  Grin

Added to that there's 140BTC/35k XMR to sell before we even get near to 0.0039.

To buy the same amount of XMR as needs to be sold to reach 0.0039 would see us reaching 0.0054.

Conclusion, potential explosive upside as bigger buyers become bored with how difficult it can be to obtain sizable stacks.
890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Timothy Coles is Selling His $2 Million Gold Mine for Bitcoin on: July 28, 2014, 10:22:27 AM
This could be a great hedge for some of the more welathy BTC owners that are around. After two years you have your investment back and can then produce your own gold.

891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (MRO) Speculation thread on: July 28, 2014, 09:33:55 AM
Any word on when Monero might be getting added to Cryptsy?
BCX stated that he talked with Cryptsy and it will be added as soon as they figure out how.
Expect a large price increase when this happens.
Monero is in case you don't know, completely different from Bitcoin so the exchanges have the to do special changes to their deposit and withdrawal systems to support Monero.
This is only good, it allows Monero to grow slowly.

More exchanges is fine but I think they will struggle to take much volume away from Polo, crytsy hasnt been up there for a while and there are many who don't trust it at all.

Guess they still have a following though so it will likely introduce some new market players.
892  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 28, 2014, 09:06:54 AM
Only 2000 coins being sold caused this price drop, are we likely to recover or will we get some more panickers?

I think people are getting bored after this promised summer bubble and are now shutting down positions in anticipation of a slow market for a few months.

I bought big when we were below 4 mBTC  Grin
I have now 66 XMR per BTC I own Smiley

If the BTC/USd exchange rate goes own of goes flat in the next weeks, I wthink we could see XMR >0.010

Note: before this buy my average buy in price was 0 BTC (because I sold some on the way up) so this is a "real" investment

I have the very distinct feeling that you will have a fair few more oppurtunities to buy big under 4 again. Smiley

hmm.... Why do you think so?  Huh

For the same reasons I explained to your post above. When the whales are done accumalating then its time to go up, its just how it works. Also as you seem quite new, never take trading advice from anyone, especally the bigger players, they will be talking their book and getting you to buy when they want to sell and sell when you want to buy.

One thing I would like to speculate on is how much as a % of whats mined do people think is being sold on market everyday?

MMitech is one of the most pathetic people on this board. Writes an article about how great Litecoin is...LOL. Now trolls everyone while price is dropping when he admits he just wants to make money himself. GTFO and go cry on your own.

No, now he's going on Litecointalk and posting doom about LTC, all the while promoting DRK.  Jesus dude, switch horses much?  This is how you kill personal credibility on forums.

post a link where I doomed LTC... be a man and do it.

Edit: in fact, post a link where I doomed any coin except Dogecoin.

That is how I interpreted your comments on Litecointalk, that you don't care about BTC or LTC anymore, that you'll just jump on the next altcoin/shitcoin bandwagon to try and make money on pump and dumps.  Here's EXACTLY what you said:

to be honest, I don't really give a shit about what coin will succeed as long as I have a piece of it, most will tell you that this is changing the world and this is changing the money as we know it but I tell you I am here to take profits and nothing more, should it be Bitcoin or Litecoin or Drkcoin that will suceed, hell it could be shitcoin... it doesnt matter as long as I am making profits

Explains his deep hatred for Risto then as he has made his profits. mmtech goes on about egos and giving the noobs bad trading advice and generally acting unethically yet he openly advertises how unethical he is and just wants to pump and dump a shit coin on those who may not know better just as long as he's making profits. What a nice chap.
896  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: July 25, 2014, 02:28:54 PM
are there other castles for sale in the region of The Risto Castle? We could create a Bitcoin Castle Hub in a few years Wink

Porkuni is a project for the one not faint in heart. The grounds + building area is (slightly) larger than mine, but in a totally run-down condition.

Laitse is an elegantly renovated country home of 1,500sqm, easy to maintain but a little higher to buy.

Excellent value for money, could just about get a 1 bed flat for EUR 2,500,000 where I am  Grin

Hi all,

I trade cryptocurrencies and have now decided to buy XMR. I can spend 2.5 btc in total, of which I'm looking to invest a portion, so am waiting for a good moment to buy…

Here are two price charts I found (poloniex and hitbtc):

https://www.poloniex.com/exchange/btc_xmr

https://hitbtc.com/terminal#XMRBTC

It seems that XMR is pretty stable now... maybe time to invest? I'm no professional in cryptocurrency trading and am not sure… What do you think?

Thanks in advance

Currently XMR is in its very early stages and its rare for such a project to get so much attention so quickly. Given this fact the currency is volatile and the swings can be quick a deep, that being said there is a lot of serious money invested in XMR so you know your not going to buy a shitcoin that goes down to 1% of your investment.

If you are worried about getting in at the best time then I would advocate cost averaging your way in at least over a few days if not weeks.

Hey guys, I have a huge question to XMR promo team and their actions.

Could you answer why your PR agency publishes a very controversial press release with a confusing email at the bottom?
http://www.pressat.co.uk/releases/nys-45-days-to-exchange-your-bitcoin-for-monero-4a505fd85756055adbab096249001371/

Quote

Amazing!
Isn't it called scam to mislead the investors that your promo campaign is endorsed by Department of Financial Services?

That's nothing to do with us, we have not released any press releases. We can't control what other people do or force anyone not to do something.

Edit: also, there is no "XMR promo team". There is the core team, whose job is to advance XMR primarily from a technical perspective. There are contributors, who are almost entirely devoted to either contributing code to Monero, or to building related projects. We have neither the time, the money, nor the time to do ANY sort of promoting at this stage. In future when we have achieved a modicum of maturity and ease-of-use, sure, but right now it would be wasted effort.

That's very convenient position, I must admit. If you're not standing behind this press releases, than who does? Why could it came out the same day as XMR markets on Poloniex? Just a coincidence?

I may be totally wrong, but the story with this article stinks for me. I highly doubt that XMR is already that noticable to make some random people create fake press releases targeted at investors.

Oh I dunno wise guy, maybe even the guy who added the XMR markets  Roll Eyes

Could be busoni for all you know or any others of the few people who knew it was going to happen. Fact is it wasn't the core dev team( you must have missed the part where they dont actaully hold that much XMR).

What about this guy https://twitter.com/BitcoinAnalyst/status/492305967795544064

What about all the whales who have been buying it up over the last few months or the big miners, fact is you look asinine trying to pin this on the "XMR promo team", firstly because there isnt one and secondly because the devs have said time and time again they dont want to do any marketing until the core of the project is refactored, usable and stable. Simple.

You keep reffering to the promotion that the XMR team does but there really isn't any promotion coming from the XMR team.

Gd morning bitcoiners Smiley And fuck you ecuador. You seemed so progressive re drugs, and now this?
They banned crypto because they want to make their own, which means they know its potential.

It actually just means that they know it has some potential, but can't fully grasp the entire disruptiveness of the beast. If they actually did, they would know that they are now just pissing their own pants to keep warm.

Firstly I had to laugh that the person who replied to EvilPandas banana republic comment was bananaControl  Grin

I agree with the whole they can see its disruptivness as I think fiat currencies in places such as that are in an even worse state than in the went in some respects.

I hope stunna doesn't lower the payment rates, the 0.4 is very important to me, unemployment in my country is insane so this is an awesome extra  Cry

If it goes to a fixed amount you'll get more per post but less overall. On the other fixed deals you pretty much get double what PD is paying but it's only for 50 posts. I'm sure Stunna will better their rates/payment in some way though.

I'm confused, perhaps you can enlighten me, whats with all the talk of rates changing and fixed amounts etc. Whats the issue with the current system? Is someone paying higher ?
