When I switch from DASH chart to XMR on Poloniex I can't tell if it's already loaded because they look the same.
Dash is the one with the higher price .... XMR has risen a bit faster though in the last few weeks, see: https://poloniex.com/exchange#xmr_dashand still Dash has the higher price. Can we please keep the conversation in this thread towards Dash and not promote your own heavily invested coin.. thank you. i'm a bit disappointed dEBRUYNE, you should know better then that .. even if you diversified into both coins (which i suspect you have) Comparing prices is a bit silly imo, since it depends on supply as well. If you meant marketcap I agree. I'll see myself out again.

Well it would be nice if the team or somebody else can develop an user friendly 1 click wallet right? Would also gain more people and attention...
There is also a simple web wallet I see, is it safe option as well?
It's from fluffypony, who is a core-team member, thus considered safe as in trustworthy. However, one should always be cautious with using webwallets.

Crosspost: Thanks for keeping us up-to-date! Indeed maybe not a dev-meeting decision, but I do as well hope we get rid of the term 'mixin' in version 1.0: It sounds shady, is associated with 'mixing' but it isn't, and the term 'mixin' does not cover what is actually stands for: number of ring signatures. So thanks for bringing up the reminder and lets decide on an alternative word (at least 'ring size' is understandable for me as a not so technical user, but of course open for better suggestions). Fully agree, there is a thread for discussion here: https://forum.getmonero.org/20/general-discussion/2501/changing-the-term-mixin-to-something-more-useful

Testing the level for a breakout now. The next 24 hours are critical . Maybe Jaimie Diamond is buying in? RealMattDamon told him to.
Oh the nostalgia!

Difficulty takes approximately 2 weeks to adjust. Currently, miners are pushing out blocks approximately every 10 minutes. If after the halving day 50% of the hashrate drops of the network, only 50% will be trying to solve blocks with the same difficulty. Ah, so he's talking about the transition period while the difficulty catches up ? Not the longer term. Thanks. Yes, well it needs to adjust basically. I added a PS to my previous post which might interest you. @Qwizzie, yes that is certainly better than Bitcoin, but still has a risk. Ideally a coin has a smoothing block reward.

I don't understand this statement by Brian Armstrong. Surely if the hashrate drops off, the difficulty just drops to compensate and we continue to generate blocks at the same intervals on average. Is he suggesting that the hashing level can somehow have an impact on the emission rate ? Difficulty takes approximately 2 weeks to adjust. Currently, miners are pushing out blocks approximately every 10 minutes. If after the halving day 50% of the hashrate drops of the network, only 50% will be trying to solve blocks with the same difficulty. Therefore, it will take miners twice as long to find a block (making blocktimes essentially 20 minutes for a while, which also results in a lower emission). The difficulty adjustment is meant so the blocktime averages to 10 minute on the long term. In case the hashrate shoots up and difficulty hasn't adjusted you will see faster blocks (I think we had average 8 minute blocktimes for a week or so). P.S. The difficulty adjusts after N number of blocks, thus in above scenario it could take 4 weeks to adjust. There is also a doom scenario where the difficulty will never adjust because to many miners drop off the network.

If peoples have in ETH going to XMR, XMR will price rise to the moon!
Why would ppl move from eth to xmr? Just traders jumping on the next "hot" thing. Plus a lot of profits have been made on ETH.

Every time I do a transaction from mymonero I need to pay 0.015 XMR. Is this a fee from mymonero or is it a necessary transaction fee from the network?
The default fee is 0.01 per KB. I think MyMonero also takes that into account when calculating the fee.
