1761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: February 19, 2023, 05:17:56 PM
If you follow crypto news, you might be aware about solana dog shitcoin called "BONK" is up 900% the past week . If you are thinking to invest in this coin, let me share an important fact regarding this coin. The top 20 holders 50% of the coin.

You can yourself check this here
https://solscan.io/token/DezXAZ8z7PnrnRJjz3wXBoRgixCa6xjnB7YaB1pPB263#holders

So, it is obvious that they will eventually dump it. Those who are investing seeing the dramtic increase in prices will loose all their investment when it dumps.

I mean without even looking why would anything called "Bonk" be something that's needed anyway.  The amount of tokens and coins that keep getting developed with little to no value and gets pumped is beyond amazing.  The amount of greed in crypto is hilarious.  Seems like it will never end until everyone one by one loses theor money to all of these scams.

I've never heard of Mac McClung before. I see he wasn't even playing in the NBA. I don't know why they allow G-League players to participate in NBA All-Star. He deserved to win though.

Slam Dunk contest in case you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awLQ_A33H9Y
He just signed a 2-way contract days before the all-star game so before the dunk contest, he is officially an NBA player.
https://www.nba.com/sixers/news/76ers-sign-mac-mcclung

I don't know if there has been a time where they are allowing G-league players to participate in the dunk contest, but as for McClung's situation, he's an NBA player already (signed by the Sixers) before the contest.

Nevertheless, he deserve that win. He's a great dunker, and I guess many are rooting him to win on that contest. Credits still though for the 3 participants who participated. They revived the "already dead" slam dunk contest because of what happened last year.

Yeah he really was the only one e to deserve to win.  On a side note kudos to Karl Malone for giving lower scores than anyone else for the other guys.  Was mainly unimpressed and everyone was still getting 50s and 49s.  Malone coming through to keep it real.  Was surprised Dominique was giving out high scores.

The bookmaker I use (mybookie.ag) turned scammer halfway through the season apparently :/ there are tons of shitty reviews for them everywhere. They performed one cashout for me once, but it was so long ago, may have been 2021.

After I tried to do a withdrawal they said they didn't like my BTC address as I hadn't used it before. They locked me out of my account and gave me a non-working customer service number to call. I opened a support ticket and got a generic response telling me to call the same (invalid) number.

Sorry about the experience. It's definitely my first time hearing about the casino (would you mind sharing its link?)

There is nothing much members here can do to help recover your money especially if you deposited in crypto.

https://mybcasino.ag/

I was surprised by the title of this thread as MyBookie is a pretty bigtime operation; of course their URL is different:

https://mybookie.ag/

Turns out the casino is owned by MyBookie, at least according to this review.

They advertise on a few podcasts I listen to... they spend a lot of money on advertising, too bad the hosts don't know they have such an awful reputation.

Oh the irony... if only I had read my own comment before making a deposit there.  Roll Eyes

That sucks and honestly unless the book has provided constant cash outs for other people I don't know how they get business.  Too many stories of people getting locked out of their accounts under the premise of the "company" not trusting the deposit lol.  Wierd how they continually operate and nothing ends up happens to them.

Here are the odds on the other events.

Credits to Stake.com
I have not set my bet for Team Giannis or Team Lebron yet. But I already have my pick for the other events.
Three points contest - Buddy Hield - I like this guy when it comes to shooting threes. 42.6 percent is a good number.
Slam Dunk contest - Kenyon Martin Jr. - Risky but I will take it, I am really amazed at his high-flying skill.
Skill Challenge - Team Rookies
Parlay is not allowed, so singles it is.

Good luck with your picks, It seems I didn't make it on time for those games but still looking for bets on the all-star game, it seems that Kevin Durant is not the leader anymore and was changed by Giannis Antetokounmpo well I am surely not against it but anyway team west and team east are surely exciting to see, but for my pick for the All-star games, for me, I would surely go with Team West

Western Conference starters

  • LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers)
  • Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
  • Zion Williamson (New Orleans Pelicans)
  • Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors)
  • Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks)

Surely if Zion Williamson could play for this team and I hope his injury was not a burden anymore then the Western Team will surely win this, but this is just a game and most likely any players will just play and not be serious about it,

It's hard to say who would win in an all star game.  Zion is certainly not the tipping point either way.  As far as the 3 point contest going with hero on the longer odds.  Dude has a pure 3 point stroke and with no one defending him I think he has a good shot here.  How did julius randle sneak in there lol.  I'm a knick fan but he isn't even the best 3 point shooter on his own team.

Well julius randle fizzed like I expected lol.  Funniest part is he didn't even have the worst score of the night.  Wierd how they didn't have someone else out there, plenty of others to choose from.  Either way Dame shot his way to the win.  After the first round I didn't think anyone could beat Haliburton.  Herro sucked waste of money lol.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 19, 2023, 02:15:28 AM
Watching the 3 point contest, first go around and Haliburton looks unbeatable.  There is so little motion in his shot, knicks definately botched not drafting dude.  Such a clean release and same motion every shot.  After watching his first round can't see who will be able to heat him unless he loses his legs.  Herro my long shot did terrible.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alts Blood Bath for Feb? on: February 18, 2023, 06:45:30 PM
My prediction: just another month of nothing. We've been sitting at the same BTC price since June, and if I had to bet one way or another, I'd bet nothing is special about February. Alts and Bitcoin will stay roughly flat. Long term, I think they're going up, but I just see nothing dramatic that changes it one way or another this month.

It's been a decent month so far but overall I have the same outlook I think we are going to have a lot of sideways months ahead still.  Some certain coins have made decent runs this month but I can see a couple months of drop offs as well.  Next year with the bitcoin halving looming should jar the market open a little bit.  Then I think a monster run is ahead of us.
1767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can wallet to wallet transfer be hack on: February 18, 2023, 06:37:52 PM
i will transfer about $300k tether from my trustwallet to coinbase wallet using either erc or trc.
if some one knows my both wallet address and time of the transaction; any how can that person do something about that transaction? steal, hack, freeze the account etc?
during the transaction or after?

there is no way he have access to my private keys but i am reading some weird things and wonder if is possible. i am also aware in that case everyone have access to wallet addresses steal and it will be chaos but maybe there is something that i dont know and i want to make sure.

i dont know if it matters or not but to coinbase wallet is newly created wallet

thx for your help

First of all I would advise you change wallet from a third party based like Coinbase as that is a third party wallet which can turn offline any day and you can forget about your coins as that saying says "Not your keys, not your coins".

Having said that, the other thing has been already explained that if you use Windows (I don't know about Mac) it is always best to double check the address where you are sending your funds even if it is one of your addresses as there is this malware that changes this to the hacker address,so far in Linux I am not aware of such vulnerability.

Agreed unless you are going to send there just to flip it into something else that's fine, but people NEED to stop using exchanges as wallets, at least for a good portion of their portfolio.  I just don't get it.  If sent to coinbase I'd flip it into whatever you want then pull immediately off the site.  In terms of intercepting your transaction I don't under stand.  If they have access to your private keys then yep they do but your public Addy being known won't cause any harm.
1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 18, 2023, 06:35:02 PM

It's a little different in that the splash brothers were shot dominant on theor team.  I actually think the Suns ran by cp3 is a better fit for Durant.  Cp3 will put Durant in perfect position to slide right in and be the offensive force they need side by side with Booker.  Paul doesn't care if he gets his shots off.  Can't wait to watch this work gonna be fun.  As a knick fan glad to see him off of the Nets too lol.

Just as every analysis says that the Suns were automatically got the favor to win the championship this year after the KD acquisition. This team could be the perfect team, COULD BE, all because CP3 is a good offensive facilitator. Now, all they need to do is to be healthy for the remainder of the season and most especially in the playoffs.

That is the big question, they should remain healthy specially throughout playoff, it's so crucial that a one game miss could mean losing or winning that series. CP3 and KD has history of being injured in playoffs though, and they are not as young.

A healthy Suns is gonna be a hell of an opponent, simply because an opposing team cannot double team KD, Booker, CP3, and Ayton all at the same time. One defender may not be enough to guard either of these 4. So, that alone is going to be their advantage.  However, there could still be a lot of teams that could potentially beat them in a 7 game series, but if the Suns won't win it all this year, it  will going to be very shameful to them, as they seem to be the most stacked team in the NBA today.

But having a healthy Suns, the only team that I can see in the West that can much them is Denver Nuggets, it could be one hell of a series if they ever face in the WCF. Both healthy and it could go down to 7 game to settle the winner.

I think a healthy Lakers team might be able to make an impact in the playoffs. We have to see how their new lineup goes, if AD can stay healthy, and if they can sign Kevin Love. Never discount LeBron James in the playoffs. The Warriors also have a ton of experience so I wouldn’t count them out either.

Let’s see how the Suns look together before giving them the ring.

Agreed on the Suns but I have to think cp3 will make this as easy as possible a transition for kd melding onto the Suns.  Without a good point guard it's always a long learning curve.  Not giving them the chip yet just think it will be fun to see Durant play with one of the best point guards of his generation.

1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 18, 2023, 04:56:13 PM
The scary part about the Phoenix Suns is CP3 has more options for his passing skills. He himself is already a threat with that mid-range perfection skill and it can pull two defenders to open up space for either Booker, Ayton, or KD. So he can do a lob, kick it out, or just let Durant do his magic.
But I will focus on what they will do to make stops, defense must also be as strong as possible to win games.

I have to agree with that "BUT ONLY" if Chris Paul will maintain that kind of consistency in the playoffs.

Regardless of how he performed well in the season, CP3 always choked at the latter part of the playoffs out of nowhere. Blewing a series lead even way back to his Los Angeles Clippers stint up to the last playoffs with his current team, Phoenix Suns.

But who knows with Durant as the new teammate that he requested, things might change in the playoffs.
That, and then there's Scott Foster.  Grin

Well, it's a big change. They have a champion in their midst now who doesn't have the "choke" word in his dictionary. I am more worried about health issues. Coach Monty Williams should feel it if CP3 is having a rough night. Throw him on the bench, and let Booker and Durant cover for him. I think CP3 is veteran enough to admit he is not doing pretty well with his playoff stints. All he needs is to read the stats posted all over the internet, and I bet he heard or seen this claim a lot of times.

Congratulations to Jose Alvarado for winning the Rising Stars MVP. Cool.

My boy quentin grimes should have won it.  Was the best one on the court both games, they just didn't win the final.  Had a garbage team with no help.  I like the format it was fun to watch.  NBA has nailed the all star game with the whole weekend of games/skills that everyone wants to watch.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 17, 2023, 09:35:11 PM
I really don’t like the new way that they’re naming these All-Star teams. It makes it difficult to gamble on who the winner is going to be when you don’t know what the teams are until the day before the game. It isn’t very respectful for the casuals that might not be available to place bets during such a short time frame. I hope the NBA does away with this draft stuff for the all star games.

Just bang the over and not care about the teams lol.  Seriously the over always looks so untouchable until you see them start playing and they get up 100 points in a quarter.  The x factor is the last quarter, that's the only time they start playing defense.  With the way guys can shoot now I'm banking on the over.  Let's the chips fall where they may with the draft.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 17, 2023, 09:32:51 PM
The amount of usage rate Westbrook required was the real trouble. Yes it is true that they got less of a "star" with these trades, but they do not require this much usage rate at least, and that means Lebron and AD could have the ball a lot more, and if they ever get defended too harshly, they could pass out to someone who can hit a three.

Plus, they used AD for center too much, and we all know he famously dislikes that, Mo Bamba is not there because he is a great player, he is there to make sure AD plays the way he wants to play, or at least has someone from the bench to replace him when needed. They had too many guards, now they have a bit more evened out in each position.

Agreed on having Bambang in there.  He is a traditional 5 and will allow AD to play out on the wing and not have to cover guys like embid.  Bambang will help Lakers down low.  Surprised with the moves they pulled they definitely got better.  Playoff push better who knows but they will be fighting for the bottom end of the playoff bunch for the last 20 games now.
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 17, 2023, 08:32:53 PM
Looks like Phoenix is taking an L in the final game before the all star break. They could have used Durant tonight but it won’t be long now before we see his debut. Paul George had himself a game tonight that wasn’t totally reflected in the box score. He was making big plays and hitting hard shots all night. Eric Gordon looks like a great addition also.
Phoenix was out rebounded. outcoached, and outplayed IMO. The Suns need to play more aggressively and get themselves on the free throw line. Get some players in foul trouble and work harder to get wins. Playing soft won't get them anywhere except a seat watching the playoffs.

Watching their game earlier against the Clippers makes me think and wonder that this team might choke again in the early rounds of the playoffs if ever they will have a seat. Fortunately, their chances has improved because they already have Kevin Durant in the roster with them who will give a good impact for the team but that is still unknown at this stage because Durant is still injured and will likely play few games before the season ends.

KD is a good addition to them in terms of both offense and defense, if they will duplicate how the Warriors manage to fit him inside the system
the chance of winning for the Suns is really high.
Booker and CP3 will be the key here, remembering how the splash bros adjusted for KD just to work with him and allow him to facilitate. It
will bring a good chance of advancing to the next round and a possibility that they can move back to the finals.
It's just an opinion and base from how KD affects the team that he played with when he's healthy.

I know Crypto had a heck of a run a week ago, and it is giving back which is normal. They have been getting beat real bad and its not stopping. I was on Coin Market Cap an hour ago, and looked at the stable coins. They are all except USDT well below a dollar. All were up 3 to 5% today and still wasnt up to a dollar. They were moving around like they were being fed to try and stay in their dollar spot. I got a bad feeling about today and/or tomorrow. Keep close eye out and react quickly. Hope I am wrong, but its strong enough feeling I just had to say something. Good luck!!    Brandon

I wouldn't use looking at prices on coin market cap as a short term indicator of what is going to happen in the crypto market.  It's hard enough when solid technical analysis is being done to nail down a short term trend (and even long term).  If the market goes up or down on guilt feel it's most of the time just a mere coincidence.

Last 3 games before the break gonna go on all the home teams!

Call me crazy but I got the bulls +8 at home.  Think they can back door cover here.

I like the Timberwolves at home -3.  Think after the break they turn it wlaround fully here.  When Kat comes back they are my dark horse.

And last gimme the Suns-1 at home against the Clippers.  Suns start theor run at the top of the league here.

Good luck everyone!!

Hey guys! Anybody else think Kevin Love would join the Lakers, after the Cavs buyout?
I think he's a good addition to the current Laker roster. A big man with a good shooting percentage and a good rebounder too. Though the Lakers was playing great against the Pelicans last night. I'm not sure if it was the first time since a couple of seasons where all of their players are available to play.
Hope they keep up the consistency offensively and the aggressive defense, hoping to see them in the play-in lol.

I don't think many teams say no to Love. Lakers would love to have him but I heard Suns is also trying to chase him. That's logical, Suns gave a lot to get Durant and they should do everything to win the championship this year. They signed Terrence Ross. There is still room for one more player.
Heat and Bucks also want him. If I were him, I'd go to a team that has a chance to become champions this season, which is either Bucks or Suns.

You aren't wrong, for essentially zero dollars you can get a vet who knows how to play, spreads the floor and can still rebound at a high level.  Would be a great piece for the Lakers.  They have a real need for him.  For the Suns or heat he would just be a luxury.  If he wants to chase another championship he takes the Suns, if he wants a bunch of playing time he goes to the lakers.

As mining is no longer profitable won't the POW algorithms go to shit? They'd be at a real risk of 51% attacks for some coins.

The whole POW Model needs the network to be very busy just for security and to function

It reminds me of when NXT got released and BTC miners worked out it was more profitable cracking NXT loggings then mining coins themselves lol

There will always be equilibrium in the system but you are right if one group monopolized all of the miners then security is at risk.  People and groups will always be interested in mining because once enough people shut down profitability will spike (if price stays neutral or goes up).

Doge was just a fad in 2020/21, there are so many heavy bagholders it will be real tough for the price of doge to spike with a constant supply increase of 10k new doge minted every minute or so.  Think doge falls back to be worth 40-60 sats.

I thought momentum was beginning to go on the Chiefs until thr Eagles get this touchdown and 2 point conversion to make the game tied with both teams have 35 points each and there is only 5 more minutes. My only wish for the game is an overtime hehehehe.

In any case, Chiefs was also lucky. If Jalen Hurts did not fumble the ball during the 2nd quarter the Eagles should be leading with the score 35-28.

There are many points in the game that kind of pivots it one way or another.  I wouldn't say they are lucky and you can't say they don't catch up with the eagles without that fumble recovery.  If ilhe didn't the whole game would have altered.  Either way it was one of the most exciting super bowls I've seen.  Lots of action just no defense.  Eagles defense folded pretty easily.
