1761  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic pushed the US into recession- now official , analysis on: September 23, 2020, 02:16:56 PM
I can't ignore the fact that in some countries USD is really skyrocketing despite the fact that every article indicates how bad USD will end up. Still, people in some countries stick with USD very much. For example, in Republic Of Georgia, their national currency is falling seriously and USD rises despite the fact that National Bank sold solid amount of reserves even in current situation. Looks and sounds very curious for me.

In this country people love USD so much that even if it falls worldwide, they'll still stick with it I guess.
Situation is going worse, I wouldn't say that benefits outweight the cons because we didn't see any benefit, people are still infected and this number rises, it's impossible to control it and 3 months stop of economics ruined everything.
1762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When we think that crypto is being used by criminals to move tons of money on: September 22, 2020, 10:27:40 PM
Offshores and etc blabla things are used to launder money and banks are a part of it, it looks like legitimate way to launder money. Curious, yeah? Bitcoin is mostly considered as a currency used by criminals because of it's mostly anonymous and cryptographic nature. This gives them a reason to state that but at the same time it's truth at some point. The difference is that banks are used by elite launderers while cryptos are sometimes used by average Joes.

And sandly, UK is one of the easiest place to launch scam/ponzi scheme with fiat but no, still bitcoin is blamed instead of peoples' brains.
1763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why has no-one done a crypto Ebay? on: September 22, 2020, 08:25:08 PM
I'm sick of the fees on Ebay it's become totally unprofitable for some items due to the massive fees. I use Facebook marketplace but that's more for local sales.

With crypto Ebay you could have near zero fees and have a decentralized marketplace model. I know there are things on TOR etc, but I just wouldn't trust it tbh..
Why do you think that you could have near zero fees? Do you really think that marketplace won't set fees despite the fact that it uses cryptocurrencies? Marketplace is looking for profit, check how much profit does ebay makes and then you'll understand Ebay loves billions, green billions.

Crypto version of Ebay will be very hard to create and will require enormous amount of money. You have to attract buyers/sellers, increase demand/traffic, hire developers, customer supports, project managers and etc. Crypto doesn't have that much demand and one similar step from Ebay means your business is most likely gone. So, believe me, there won't be serious crypto analogue of Ebay, at least right now. In future, I don't know.
1764  Economy / Economics / Re: How freelancing websites killed design and developement bussinesses ... on: September 22, 2020, 07:38:35 PM
Web developers are asking for huge amount of money for tiny html/css edits. Their prices aren't fair and now they blame freelancers from all over the world because Indian guy charges 20$ instead of 600$ and they are bad, ruining their "profitable" business.

Do you ever take into account the cost of living in the respective countries? Web devs living in the US/EU ask for considerable amounts because that's the only way they can live in their society where cost of living is very high, this without taking in account the fact that when a dev charges 600$, he doesn't get 600$ in his pockets, there is taxes and a shitload of other expenses; ofcourse they are going to call devs from countries where cost of living is low "bad" because they are breaking the market by charging peanuts for their service...
Apple manufactures Iphone in China because it's cheap to produce in this country. This isn't a business that would work in USA cause even if that happened, price would be hugely high. So, I don't care how much money they need for their daily living when you can get the same quality product in 10x less price. I've got a very professional website on wordpress for 200$ that would cost min 5000$ in US/EU if we consider it's functions, features and etc.

If editing a CSS file was that easy without breaking everything, then the client should do it himself/herself.
It's one of the most easiest thing, believe me. It's super easy to learn html/css, at least was for me but it isn't a thing that I am interested in.
1765  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 15,000 restaurants in France start accepting bitcoin payments through Just Eat!! on: September 21, 2020, 07:32:04 PM
At first when I read the title I was amazed, what happened in this country that made 15K restaurants to accept bitcoin payments.
I have been in France for many times and I have walked so much in Paris, Lyon... Oh I miss France. Btw still amazing news, I have never used any food delivery here and don't know much about Just Eat (but I have often seen Domino's Pizza couriers in streets) but seems it's one of the most popular food delivery company in France.

Great job, usually, such things lead other companies to repeat the same. I hope Glovo, Bolt and other good startups that include food delivery and taxi services, will accept bitcoin payments along with cash and cards.
1766  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🎲Tower.bet 🎲🔥 New Platform arrived 🎲Crash 🎲 HiLo 🎲 Wheel 🎲Contests 🎲 on: September 21, 2020, 05:42:03 PM
So, it's a side project of duckdice like stake of PD...
To be fair, I was really amazed with towerbet at some point. Website and it's UI is very simple and colors are well matched. At some point some games have old vibes that remind me The lord of the rings and Goblin.
In overall, pretty nice and good UI, it makes you to travel in time and gamble at the same time, enjoy gambling in ancient times.

Btw OP on withdraw terms I read that users should be able to withdraw via cards, paypal, qiwi and others but on faqs it's written that only cryptocurrencies are supported for withdraw. So, how?
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Dice Games and Yolodice . Best strategy?? on: September 20, 2020, 09:01:12 PM
Hello,

I was playing Yolodice today, and I was trying to figure out an strategy to have the maximum profit and lowest risk possible.

There are some things you can control in the game:

-Bet Amount
-Chance to win

I set the chance to 90% and the bet amount to 1/2 my stash. Then I started rolling. I made more than 100 rolls lol

I made a 200% profit in 5 minutes. However, I made 2 bad bets, and lost almost all. (Terrible experience)
Then I was able to recover my previous profit with the same strategy... and then made a few bad bets and lost almost all again.

I sent some more money to recover my lost profit. I am far from it now, but I was thinking about those 2 parameters we can set.

Do you think a 1/2 stash bet is too high? Maybe something like 1/4 or 1/5 is safer, but the reward is low as well. What do you think about chance? Should I keep it higher than 90, or try something lower?

The result will be the same, do not waste time (if you are doing this not for fun, but for the sake of winning).
I had a different experience and I chose even higher chances of winning - 99%. If I remember correctly, the bet was 100 satoshi, after the first defeat I increased the bet 100 times - 10,000 satoshi (to return the lost). It seems that the chance of losing both bets in a row is small, but on a large number of bets (I set the automatic game), the loss inevitably came.
The most curios thing is that people always say: I bet with 99% chance of win and still lose once, twice or more in dice. What about to use 1% win of chance and bet this way? Less loss but chance of higher win if you increase bet on for example on every 30th bet.

Btw house edge is 1%, the max that you can do is to gain 49.5% chance of win but consider that casino has 50.5% chance. You can't beat numbers in math, 1+1=2. So on long term, your chances to win even decreases, it doesn't rise. As simple as it is.
1768  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Namecheap has finally enabled BTCPay Server on their top-up page on: September 20, 2020, 07:49:59 PM
Indeed they do have the option now. I just logged in to my account to check it.

~snip~

Finally, I can get rid of the BCH shills to push me with the high fees for BTC and indirectly is asking to pay with BCH which I do not have any though.

Why so much hate around BCH? It's clear in how shady ways Roger tries to popularize bitcoin and other important details but just take it easy and skip.
This hate is similar of: Hey, Christiano Ronaldo is bad, stupid player, Leo Messi is the best, visca barca. While in reality none of them are bad.

Good news, i'll consider Namecheap if i ever plan to buy domain or/and rent a VPS. They should announce about new payment processor at their blog and social media though, since i don't see any.
Have been using Namecheap for 3 years for their domains and haven't had a single problem as of yet.

Same here. I would definitely recommend them for buying domains. Not sure I'd choose them for hosting though, Vultr is a way better alternative for that.
Namecheap has great prices and the most amazing support in hosting industry. For hosting performance and prices, I found Hetzner pretty good.

Btw very nice news, we already had some discussion in old thread where this news was announced but what's the most amazing - finally it happened and namecheap did great job.
1769  Economy / Economics / Re: How freelancing websites killed design and developement bussinesses ... on: September 20, 2020, 05:41:10 PM
They didn't kill anything, they just improved things. Once upon a time, in one country (Republic of Georgia) you had to pay 50$ for pirated windows installation, then after some years price become 15$. It just takes some clicks to install windows and drivers / needed software and people were charging so much. Average salary in this country is 170$.

Web developers are asking for huge amount of money for tiny html/css edits. Their prices aren't fair and now they blame freelancers from all over the world because Indian guy charges 20$ instead of 600$ and they are bad, ruining their "profitable" business.
1770  Other / Meta / Re: Make this forum a better place - part 2 on: September 18, 2020, 07:27:29 PM
The idea behind my post isn't to just directly donate every tool that's used for digging user's statistics.

I mean it can be a little boost for some crypto startups. For example for tools like bitcoin address balance checkers, price converter and etc. Some users may would build tools for that purposes and publish it on free subdomain to show it public. It can sound like free hosting for bitcointalk members for crypto purposes.
1771  Other / Meta / Make this forum a better place - part 2 on: September 18, 2020, 04:02:31 PM
Hello guys!
As you already know, there are some good projects created that are associated with bitcointalk, including: BPIP, Loycev’s projects and others.

I think it won’t be bad if forum’s budget will be used to rent some strong vps/servers that are available in pretty good prices by Hetzner and other hosting/colocation providers.

I think it will be most cost effective if we hire one server and unite all good projects here. It will also give stimulus to other members to work on good projects and host them after they successfully build it in localhost.

I know it's a short post but I think the meaning behind it is pretty understandable. I don't know whether others agree or disagree with this opinion but just wanted to share mine.

1773  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaigns and some discussion about seo on: September 17, 2020, 09:49:09 PM
I am not a developer and admin so I have not run a signature campaign before, but if a project run a signature campaign in any forum the thread about the campaign will create back links and popularity on the project which is good for the project's reputation in the internet, that is why doing a campaign can make a difference in short and long term.
First of all, sorry for very late reply.
Link from ANN thread or sig campaign thread means nothing at first and it's a matter of time whether that thread will become popular or build backlinks from another websites, after that, that single backlink from ANN or Sig thread may have some value.
But what I talk here is about following: When you hire posters on this forum, it happens like some of them have already posted in threads that have high UR (Url Rating). That backlink can be high quality as UR is higher but at the same time it depends on how much referring domains that threads carry.

Whatever Bitcointalk as a high domain authority webpage can be very helpful with improving SEO score, but what after the signature campaign ends and users change his signature?
It is okay but still, I think, links in the contest have a much higher score based on SEO.
Links are lost after that and the domain authority that you got from backlinks from your participants' posts will be gone. It will be interesting to check ahrefs score on websites that had a lot signature campaign participants and ended campaign after certain time. I'll check it but from personal experience, was only carrying one website on my sig for some days, it improved website's score by 0.3 Means nothing significant but only some links were indexed.
1774  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: September 17, 2020, 08:25:58 PM
Start collecting as many tickets as you can by wagering and free spins to increase your chance of winning $7,500 in BTC on the coming Sunday.

Congratulations to the 10 Lucky Winners of Lottery Round 276.

I seriously do not get the people who have like over 5 million/10 million tickets. Do they just gamble the dice so much that they end up with that much ticket? Or do they just buy all those tickets? I feel like they can't be just buying ALL those tickets, some could be purchased but not all of them, it feels like they are actually losing money no matter what the outcome is, they could potentially be the winner once but that's about it, they had to do it once and leave, which I am not sure if they do, which means they have to play constantly and they could lose so much money this way.

Unless you are constantly at top three every single week, there is no way you could be profitable. Hopefully though this helps us out, they buy constantly increasing the pot and we have a chance to win.
No, no, it's not like that. You may already know that you can refer your friends or someone else on freebitco. For every free btc roll your referral plays, you get one lottery ticket. You can see in stats that there are people more than 10 000 referrals and even more than 100 000. And to be fair most of them aren't inactive too as it seems because of how much free bitcoins they have collected from their referrals. This makes sense why they have so much tickets.
1775  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sportsbook - Lamborghini Giveaway! 🚀 🎰 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 🎲 on: September 17, 2020, 05:42:28 PM
We all believe that whoever wins, will probably take the cash/btc equivalent of the win.
Definately save on taxes just getting paid out in bitcoin thats for sure
The reasoning behind having cash over Lambo (which freebitco.in already did twice so far and winner picked cash) was the simple reason that it is such a simple way to get money and such a hard way to get a car. Even if the car is totally free itself, you have to pay for shipping, pay for taxes, wait for it to be loaded on some ship (probably ship or a big truck) pay all the shipping, get the car by that time you will not be paying as much as the car maybe (depends on where you live) but you are going to pay a TON of money for it nevertheless, why would anyone go through that much money, effort, time and get one car when they could just say "I prefer money" and get money and everything is done in 10 minutes, no waiting, no shipping, no problems just money on your account in a minute.
The problem is that Stake is an international casino and not a local one. Because of this reason, it's hard for customers to accept the actual price. In reality they look Lambo as 212,266 USD as the main prize. I think, if Lambo is the real prize, then they should cover additional fees or only offer money as the prize. Well, it's still on the user's side right now but at some point it's really sad that we can't see Lambo winners on crypto casinos or did I missed something? Cheesy
I said that because not every gambler is rich and there are moments when luck hits and poor people win such a great prizes and taxes on lambo would cost house in small countries.
1776  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Earn free money discovering the world of Bitcoin (without investment) on: September 16, 2020, 09:36:04 PM
Any website that relies only on advertiser income will not succeed.

Any advertisers you are able to find with this extremely common website will evaporate as you pay your users to steal their advertising dollars.

You have nothing to lose, other than your time and reputation.   You only get so many tries at friends/family with this junk.  You cannot guarantee any money for your members, which is why you give out points.

If we mean this kind of websites, yes, but otherwise - no.
Btw this is very poor thing, only small kids may be interested in this kind of websites because they want to earn money at home from computer and they may really be excited even with some satoshi but again, website can't develop this way.

One good idea that came to my mind is to create website something similar of udemy where owner only publish high quality courses with video tutorials and other necessary documents included. Subject must be very wide, including: History of bitcoin, what it is, where it is used, why is used, it's pros and cons, bitcoin trading basics, blockchain development, etc. But the rewarding thing may come once user finish this courses. For example someone paid 100$ in course. You offer him 20% cashback in case he succeeds in tests that may come after finishing the course. On each right answer, user gets some satoshies on his balance. All right answers mean 20% cashback, otherwise 20$ on user's account. He may be able to withdraw this funds or buy another courses.
1777  Other / Meta / Re: Beware of BitcoinTalk.ro on: September 09, 2020, 09:47:22 PM
they said they didn;t know about the existence of BitcoinTalk.org and that they just registered the domain for a client.
If they said so... Cheesy It's so funny when I read/hear something like this, they didn't know about bitcointalk, yeah, of course, who knows about this website?

The only way that comes to my mind in preventing of such things is to use CSC Corporate Domains service but idk if bitcointalk is able to negotiate with them since this forum isn't a property of brand, digital business, etc.

Btw I don't think creating of such threads on every case is beneficial, I hugely doubt anyone will see this thread in google when they type bitcointalk.ro and users who use bitcointalk may know that they shouldn't enter their login/password on bitcointalk.ro
1778  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to advertise cryptocurrency exchange platform? on: September 02, 2020, 10:14:46 PM
First of all start with hiring of experienced Marketing Manager(s). This isn't something that someone can just write like a homework.

Still would love to give you some small advices:
First of all seems you know that bitcointalk is the place where the most people in crypto community are together and as a bonus, it includes famous people too. So, this is right place to include in your marketing strategy. You can either advertise directly on this forum via Theymos's auction and put ads under thread's author's post or hire posters and run a signature campaign. Both of them are very effective and you can see a lot of examples of it, including Primedice, Bitsler, Fortunejack and so on.

At the same time your advertisements/banners must be attractive for users, color psychology plays a great role there too. Then place ads and banners on websites that may bring the audience that you want and the websites that may be successful for you on long term. For this, you have to make deep analyze of them. Paid articles are a good addition too but you have to monitor content writers and publish the best articles.

Long story short, this is basic advice that I want to give you. Everything depends on you, your team, your budget and so on.
1779  Other / Meta / Re: Is it time to have a Corona virus sub-board? on: September 02, 2020, 09:40:16 PM
The virus seems to dominate a number of boards here, and the discussions are getting repetitive, and even boring in some cases. We seem to have two camps - those who believe the globalist Pharma propaganda, and the open minded who have done some research and thought about the situation. It seems that neither camp will be able to convert the other, and in a few cases, members are having to resort to personal insults to replace their weak arguments.

I think it is debasing the forum, as it is affecting many other forums and news sites. Bitcoin, DeFi and global economics are far more important, and it would be handy if we could get away from discussions about a minor infection that is being used to distract the world from the really important issues.

I wouldn't call any of these sides an open minded one, prefer to stay neutral in this task, both sides have good arguments to be fair.
I think it's not necessary to have corona virus sub board. First of all, what we want to get rid of is medical advices from forum users. If we create sub board, then we have to highly moderate it because of the reason that I just mentioned.
Also bitcointalk isn't a medical website/forum and I strongly believe it's not necessary to have covid related discussions but still people can feel free to post and that's okey.

Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion <-- This thread doesn't have sub board and what's corona compared to this Cheesy
1780  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi schemes listed in Scam Accusations are they needed? on: September 01, 2020, 11:03:49 PM
Did they create such thread? I haven't noticed, the only one that I knew was created by minifrij and there was other but can't remember right now.

First of all bitcointalk has high rank in google and other search engines. When someone types website in google, for example scam one, more likely google will show bitcointalk's url as a first result or at least on first page(s) since scam websites usually don't have good SEO too because they are brand new and etc.

Personally, it doesn't worth for me to report websites to google, then antivirus companies and so on. Mostly, interested people in bitcoin are here and I can't imagine if there is a person who knows bitcoin but hasn't heard about bitcointalk. Prefer to report such things here. It's their duty to check whether the website that they visit is scam or not, not mine. It's like when someone asks what's 48+37 and you are so lazy to calculate answer that still are looking for answer from questioner.
