181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The irony of leaving your private keys in a bank on: October 05, 2022, 04:02:11 AM
Why should you secure your decentralized assets with centralized services?
I think using a safety box and keeping it hidden at home is enough in my opinion, especially if you don't have a large enough asset because storing it in a bank also costs money and moreover you can't access it during an emergency.

Don't miss up security consciousness with decentralization talk. Natural disaster, robbery don't understand that word. Whether it is kept in the bank or at home, the priority is to keep it safe, I don't see what decentralization got to do with that, it is not that they will open to see what is inside.

Anyone who is looking to store his/her crypto assets key in the bank or in another separate secured place other than his/her must have large sum.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 04, 2022, 09:12:42 PM
I really don't think that what KingsDen did in that question to OP was bad or wrong. It was rhetorical and only OP can figure that out. Again, come to think of it; why would anyone leave their investment decisions in the hands of complete strangers they meet online? Except you're in complete sync with someone offline before meeting them here online, I think you shouldn't rely completely on what they say to form your decision. OP shouldn't just rely on whatever

Lots of new and some old investors rely on other people's decision before investing, I have come across several people like that (especially on telegram) asking my opinion about some  projects.
Such people will take whatever you say to them as the focus point to invest. They don't seem to care if you are a total stranger they just meet in the internet or not.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to know about bitacoin Satoshi on: October 03, 2022, 05:02:15 PM
Wow a bit surprised to see that someone who have been actively participating in the bounty for years and then he comes to this section talked about whether bitcoin is a scam or not. This question is not acceptable even you OP was only quoting without giving any reply.
Im sure that if you are coming back from your sleep. Will you sleep again? it seems like that you are wanna participating in the bounty again.

The way I see it..... it seems @op is talking about another project called 'bitcoin satoshi' which I don't know where he gets that. Otherwise, I don't understand why he will be confused and thinks btc is scam after several years in existence, this is ridiculous.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 03, 2022, 04:37:06 PM
Both period comes with different benefits depending on how you are able to take advantage of each period. Bear period brings opportunity to buy btc and some top alts at cheap price while bull period gives an equal opportunity to sell at a peak. So to me, no period is better than the other. They compliment each other.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Net Bitcoin ATMs growth drops globally for the first time ever on: October 02, 2022, 05:02:50 PM
Could the drastic drop also as a result of the bear period? Between, in a normal circumstance how many people are actually using these ATMs to buy or withdraw on a daily basis? If the % is as high as what I read above, I don't think anyone will be eager to make use of btc atm to buy. That's a complete ripoff.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A New Study - Bitcoin is 56x more energy Efficient than Traditional Banks on: October 02, 2022, 04:36:34 PM
"We demonstrate Bitcoin consumes 56X less energy than the classical system. When Lightning is compared to Instant Payments, Bitcoin gains exponentially in scalability & efficiency, proving to be up to a million times more energy efficient per transaction."

Such posts should be accompanied by the source link, some forum members like to check the source of the content to ensure its authenticity. That being said, btc has been castigated for high energy consumption and bad to the environment severally for a long time but if some new study is out to counter such claims, it will be good for btc and the entire crypto community but unfortunately, I doubt the btc haters would find this new study any relevant.

I am seeing that only Bigger members like hero or legendary members are giving merits each other, not to newbies or other such people. I was hoping that people who have best and good post might get merit but that's not the case 😁

You should focus more on providing good and quality posts than merit even though i know it is important to help you grow in rank, but once you post something worthy of being merited, am sure you will be merited.
187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If I get heart Attack that is because of BITCOIN on: October 01, 2022, 06:36:12 PM
Hi guys I think I might have heart Attack cause when I buy Bitcoin it goes to lows and when I sell Bitcoin it goes higher and today I sold my all Bitcoin earnings that were 200 dollars and than. BITCOIN starting pumping very hard and that was very very annoying to me. What should I do about this?

Hope you don't get a heart attack because of btc because while you are gone the market will keep moving ahead. If you want to have peace of mind in this market, learn to have a long-term goal, this way all these minor drops won't bother you too much, but if you keep looking at the market every second then you are definitely close to getting a heart attack.
If you can't handle the pressure don't be in this space.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Terra still pumping !?! on: October 01, 2022, 08:02:33 AM
I think whales have found a toy to play with, they must be behind the occasional pump and dump of luna if not what else could make a worthless project with infinite supply to keep pumping in price?
Traders don't care about anything else than making profit and it is clear luna is doing that for them. Despite this artificial pump, this is not a safe project to invest in. Always DYOR.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More reasons why it will always be Bitcoin for me on: September 30, 2022, 06:12:56 PM
This is no longer news, every day the central bank of Nigeria always coming up with one directive or another to make life even more difficult for the people.
They already introduce a daily spending limit long ago, but it seems that's not enough for cbn and the government, several limitations yet more are still coming.
If only btc is generally accepted perhaps it will lighten the situation, but that's not the case, and the majority of people are still ignorant of btc and crypto in general. So the problem will persist.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spain’s Largest Telecom Company Telefónica Now Accepts Bitcoin, Crypto Payments on: September 30, 2022, 06:03:28 PM
This is how btc grows when there is more usage than just holding and waiting for the next ath. It is always nice and exciting to read this type of news.
Like it or not, btc acceptance is growing and expanding, the smarter ones wants to be a part of the revolution.
191  Economy / Economics / Re: SO MANY BLACK SWANS FOR ONE YEAR on: September 29, 2022, 08:47:49 PM
It can't be the first time things like this are happening all together. This is the first it happens in our generation,  almost like things are going from bad to worse without anyone knowing how it will all end for things to go back normal.
To me I think the biggest is covid-19,  it literally short the world down on a standstill. Russia-Ukraine war does not have such an impact on the entire world like covid-19. It was a time of history. First in my lifetime I see the power house America with deserted busy roads and places.
Imo, I don't see any other black swan as big as covid-19.
192  Economy / Economics / Re: A great resignation is incoming to the IT powerhouse of the world on: September 29, 2022, 08:36:30 PM
Do they have a plan B accompanied with this thought? If an employee already planning to resign is because he/she have something better that awaits them.
Perhaps, the salary does not match up with the volume of work they handle. I think any reasonable company that understand the importance of IT in a company would not want this to happen.

86% is a huge number, basically almost all the IT guys wants to resign is definitely not a good sign,  the company's in question will face a huge problem if they neglecte this issue.
IT staffs you be among well paid staff in any organisation because of the nature of their job and it's importance.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin CBDC on: September 28, 2022, 08:10:08 PM
What government really have too many free time to track your small transactions?
Except you are buying a huge volume of btc directly from the exchange. And why would you buy btc with cbdc when you can always do that through fiat.
Cbdc is not a thing yet and even if it eventually does it won't be shove down your throat,  I believe you will be given an option, so it is up to you to decide what to buy btc with.

194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC met up with Tim Draper and Satoshi Nakamoto? on: September 28, 2022, 06:34:19 PM
This isn't a random tweet that someone just made up. This is an actual official US government document from the SEC's calendar from 2017.

What it might mean is a different question.

How does such document came to the public view in the first place? Was it the SEC that made it available to public view or it was gotten through illegal means.
People do a lot of editing this days so it is hard to know it such kind of info from the Internet is genuine or not because you can't really tell where is original source.
I have heard some rumour in the past about sec being the creator of bitcoin, could this information contain some element of truth?
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: September 27, 2022, 07:10:03 PM
Let's be honest, how many investors of crypto that spend time reading the whitepaper or invest because of what is written on whitepaper?
If whitepaper was an important factor in the past I don't think it is anymore. What am saying is, WP is no longer a necessary factor to invest in a project,  with or without it, any serious team will deliver.
Lots of failed projects with flamboyant whitepaper,  if was the backbone of a project, they won't end up as failure.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we have a seperate BitcoinCash forum? on: September 27, 2022, 06:49:01 PM
I almost forgot that thing exist, I can understand why the op had to create this thread when he did because back then the altcoin section was filled with bitcoin cash post, the hype was so high then but now investors hardly take note of it.
It seems like popularity slowly fade away.
197  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save as food inflation jumps more than 11% in a year on: September 26, 2022, 08:20:54 AM
You can manage inflation as an individual to some extent but the general problem will persist if not handled from the top.
Increasing one's income is a good start if you are able, there are not many jobs lying around and the demand is high so in other to be able to increase one's income,  it requires more effort.
Cutting down expenses also helps but in most times you are living below your needs which can be frustrating.
Growing crops for personal consumption (even if not for commercial purpose) can be helpful if the land is available.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things to keep in mind before accumulation of Bitcoin on: September 25, 2022, 08:04:40 PM
What caught my attention is the huge accumulation gap between 2019 vs 2022. It shows the interest to invest on btc has grown stronger despite high interest rate.

People are really accumulating btc in 2022 which could be a sign of what to expect in next bull run.
Some people don't see the importance of dca on their investment when the value is a lot lower than the point of buying, dca helps to average to reduce the value from high point to low or average.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins that fell below negative 100% this bear market on: September 24, 2022, 04:28:09 PM
Okay so Terra LUNA probably the most notorious collapse, but ... were there any other tokens you thought would do well and fell below negative 100% ?

Here's one that was hyped by a lot of Influencers earlier this year: The Neighbours
Supposed to be a realistic game / metaverse where you could buy and furnish your own real estate.

Went from a peak of $147 to an unbelievable $0.006203  !!

Checked their page, they're still in business Undecided

Any other hidden "gems" ?  Grin

Add beyond protocol to that list, I can't believe how that project fall from ath to -100%.
I lost the opportunity to join the bounty when it was launched here in the forum months back, I even had to put it on my watch list of potential project to invest on, am just glad I didn't before the ship got wrecked.

Terra ust same thing, I had plans to convert some of my assets to ust and stake to take advantage of that 20% they offer but mehn was I glad I hesitate a bit.
Hidden gems indeed  Cheesy
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple (XRP) goes up, Bitcoin stays flat or even lose value on: September 24, 2022, 04:15:48 PM
Ripple has success in court and that is why the currency is flying high.
Take into consideration the 3rd and 4th largest Cryptos as of today are USDT and USDC and Ripple can soon go to the moon.

Would you consider investing now in Ripple instead of Bitcoin?!

 Huh

Lol, are you for real? That's an absurd thing to considered. Just a few pump from xrp don't make it the best investment and especially not over btc. Remember btc is the one calling the shots, so this short term pump of xrp will remain short term, enjoy it while you can.
Reason why ripple has not fallen face flat is because of the centralized whales holding a chunk of it, otherwise there is no way ripple can stay in that position with all the lawsuit slammed on it from different angle.
