1821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Coinwix.com Fake Exchange on: March 04, 2023, 11:19:44 PM
The exchange is pretty new based on their social media activities they started posting just this january 2023 regardless their domain registration.
Now about the scam accusation better to post proof of how it happens posting such almost zero to none content wont help. Don't rely on trustpilot reviews either unless it is "verified" review.
1822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 04, 2023, 10:57:47 PM
If i have all the resources i prefer making business out of it. Casinos are designed to be profitable as house always wins. Depends on casino's house edge percentage but it is the thing just choose better game providers, system security and many more to consider that is why you need a huge resources on that. I dont know the range of money you need it probably is millions should be considered. But of course you can do it with share holders, invertors, etc. not just only you, at least 3-5 owners. Well, this might sound easy but is not.
1823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers meet? on: March 04, 2023, 10:41:05 PM
but as far as I clicking some links most of it are abandoned in moderation and you can see lot of affiliate links, most are in local especially Russian and others are dead links. Maybe there is but likely in private and who knows one in here is a member.
Pretty normal scenario in any telegram discussion group especially for a huge one. Could be better if there are bot filtered mods that will delete any post that detects xxx will be good to implement on such community group.

And i don't know, i dont really appreciate how the chat looks in any telegram groups that's why i usually mute it after i joined and leave later on.
1824  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Shirt available in SM North EDSA on: March 04, 2023, 10:28:52 PM
Never ako nakapag suot ng crypto/bitcoin-related shirts for many at kasama na security reasons.
1825  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bisq Market Day - March 20th 2023 on: March 04, 2023, 03:44:17 PM
Never tried the platform because of some reasons but i always recommend it to anyone who are trying to make a decentralized way if trading p2p.

After the closure of LBC, I expect that some will try to look for alternatives, especially those that do not require verification of identity
If the owner/management of bisq can market/promote the platform in different social media platforms, adnetwork, PR, and other community posts like this, number of traders could increase significantly due to the shutdown of similar services.
1826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 04, 2023, 01:23:34 AM
Can we just talk about that if we see cheating being happened on this fight?

It's more making sense to discuss the technical side of this fight like analysis from both and recent news involving the fight.

Going back to topic, still no official date being announced but I'm sure we will get that information later on.
Apologize getting off topic, this is just to reply and debunk the quoted boxing myth.

Back to topic, i expect this fight will be in US not in Japan, as the current title holder Stephen needs more recognition than that, but still respect to their team for accepting such offer to fight in the challenger's hometown.
1827  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 03, 2023, 11:51:13 PM
Yes, education always taught the foundation of everything you want to learn in specific course/program but don't expect and assumed it will make you rich because you learn those things.
That's how experience will come and will always taught you different things, building your connections to those people who have same interest will help too.
Example, communication skills is a huge help too which is needed for anyone who want to entrepreneurship, this is not really taught in schools but will taught you hints and basic knowledge. But experience will taught you different on actual life. That's why don't underestimate schools for teaching things.
1828  Economy / Gambling / Re: shame on the stake on: March 03, 2023, 11:27:50 PM
Now thinking the what if.. the result turns to make @OP a winner which suppose to be cancelled and due to lag the cancellation did not trigger and @OP won the bet, would he be creating this thread?  I bet not.
Of course, not, because there's no issue. What's the purpose of  posting if there's issue (which is most users do) unless he only want to brag. In anyway, this should be serve as a lesson, as the supposed lag is the actual delayed time or normal delayed time for the bet to be recorded to avoid the game getting rigged and foe different reasons.
1829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 03, 2023, 11:15:04 PM
also, as japanese people are known to be honest people, i don't think they will go to that route of cheating. so am pretty confident about this fight. fulton should not worry about the cheating aspect.
I will argue with this, there are lots of recorded fights against japanese boxer on their hometown that was cheated either by japanese referee intervention stoping the fight even though the other fighter can still fight. Or by the judges score. That's why KO is always needed for someone to win versus a japanese fighter fighting in Japan. Just example the previous fight of casimero, although later on it was fixed.
1830  Other / Meta / Re: Reducing website load when you want to login to your Bitcointalk account. on: March 03, 2023, 10:39:05 PM
Larger database record doesn't always mean to slower query or fetching records. Many aspects that it can affect like the kind of select query, index usage, its engines, etc.
Using a strong server/resources and proper query, it will not matter even a bit.
1831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robbery that attacks Bitcoin Holders on: March 02, 2023, 11:51:29 PM
I guess this will become more frequent and will be a part of task list of these criminals. This is why being in this space should be at least quiet about it also using temporary numbers and address when shopping is a must.

Since the victim is a blogger this could be the reason why criminals knew his/her information and yeah, this is unfortunate regardless if the victim e is a scammer himself or not.
1832  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Local Bitcoin stopped service! on: March 02, 2023, 11:28:22 PM
LocalBitcoins was one of the best, leading, and most reliable P2P platforms in the market, which has lived for a long time for more than ten years.
They become one of the best, before, yes. But everything changed after they required KYC on their users. Their users go to the alternatives.
So far most crypto business that stops their operations really because of the very long bear season yet new competitors are still coming out.
1833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 01, 2023, 11:47:59 PM
There’s a lesson here, which is not to follow the hype and see the real picture of the match.
We know there’s too much hype with Jake Paul and going against the odds will be a big risk and fortunately those who bet for Fury and took the risk rewarded with the profit. This is not just a small amount to many but surely Drake can still afford this.
We are talking to drake here, he wont be as popular as a gambler if he just betting following only from the hype like what paul's fans did..
Probably this is a personal preference, he is known to bet paul's previous matches too, like it's a kind of support from him.
1834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 01, 2023, 04:40:10 PM
what lessons can be learned by this event?
Lesson? You can't get any lesson in gambling aside from betting what you can afford to lose and stop gambling at all. Such amount is not a big deal to Drake he is known as risk taker, even losses millions last year yet he still betting till now. So a mere 400k won't affect his gambling activity for sure.
1835  Other / Meta / Re: What image type forum supports? on: March 01, 2023, 04:27:27 PM
That's it. Just use .png or .jpg file image instead of webp. Considering this is an old version of smf so highly likely that it's the case.

Edit: i found this smf thread[1], even the latest versions doesnt support the same file type.

1836  Other / Meta / Re: Please nuke this user with scam tool on: February 28, 2023, 10:07:52 AM
@Op why are you asking moderator nuke the newbie user
Scam tool.

Duplicate topics in two boards.
Report the post/thread he made and let the moderators do the rest. Any hacking or malware tool detected posts were eventually be deleted and hammered, nuking an account is not that simply because they create a 1 or 2 post containing some "scam tool" unless it contains malware.
1837  Other / Meta / Re: what should a newbie do 1st on this forum? on: February 28, 2023, 10:02:43 AM
You mean newbie accounts? Because not all newbie accounts has "newbie" knowledge.
Well, reading and following the forum rules is the first thing they should. Staking address is optional, it's not that important, account recovery can be done even using the email they used in registration.

As I feel, many members here don't know anything about bitcoin, they don't know how to create a bitcoin wallet, but very experienced with metamask and trust wallet, which I think is a very strange person in the world.
Many? How many you think? (Not that important anyway). Creating trustwallet can create bitcoin wallet though. If you're referring the wallet like electrum, well, this depends on what wallet they are used to use because electrum has different vibe and look than the other good UI and UX wallets especially in mobile wallets where most newbies are using.
1838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to Amazon goods? on: February 27, 2023, 11:41:45 PM
I believe I had a debit card linked, and a us address on my account. However, it was a fresh account so my transactions got flagged and my account got locked. I contacted support a few times and they were asking for more verification, but they kept saying they can't restore my account so I gave up on trying to recover it.
That's BS, can you tell what service/business is this? Looks like you need to make a scam accusation against them and provide proofs. Services who confiscated funds just because it was flagged by their system without fully using the service should not be tolerated, they could at least refund your money.
1839  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LocalBitcoins.com Exit Scam on: February 27, 2023, 11:03:54 PM
Can you give more proof, chat logs, screenshots,.etc. to backed what you accused or just follow this scam format[1]. I know they gave long period of time to withdraw the holdings of their users so you act before they finally shutdown.

1840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you running your BTC wallet on Linux? Why? on: February 26, 2023, 11:52:11 PM
It's more on security just like most the above posts mentioned. But don't assumed that linux OS users are inevitable to hacks, most hack incident are because of bad practice of its users so should know the basic things on how you will get protected either what OS you are using.
