1701  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend crypto payment gateway for a small e-commerce site? on: February 18, 2023, 10:49:23 PM
BTCPay Server is the best option but like joniboini suggested it require some work. When you have an IT guy then it's not a big deal.

Additionally there are third-party hosts for BTCPay server[3], but it has few concern.
To be exact, here are some/all of the list[1] of thirdparty sites accepting registration for btcpay payment that is ready to use for accepting payments to your site.

1702  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammed by cur-ves.com on: February 18, 2023, 09:15:14 PM
So you have been using the site for a year already? Or its just your relationship with the lady? And you didn't get any suspicious when you searched it and even google can't you details about them?. I can't even access the site.. Yeah, this is a common scam. i'll be expecting more from internet users now because of resources they have to get information via the internet but it looks like its the opposite. Anyway, this should serve you a lesson, that always use google to search about a site before doing anything about money.
1703  Other / Meta / Re: Dark mode on Bitcointalk on: February 18, 2023, 03:46:19 PM
Sorry for this off topic reply, but why you hiding the total logged in time? Will it cause any problem related to account security or privacy? Isn't it just a meaningless number or am I missing something?
It's not related to any security and/or privacy matter, I bet it's just a personal preference and so be it.

IMO built dark modes scripts for this forum are just awful ot just this forum doesn't look better in dark modes, that's why i still prefer this light mode.
1704  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best crypto casino for Netherlands? on: February 18, 2023, 07:49:37 AM
Coming to your query, I checked some sites that I regularly play at and observed that none of them allow gamblers from Netherlands
Yeah, because Netherlands banned any kind of gambling activities. So licensed casinos won't entertain any local from these countries (who banned gambling). So KYC-required casinos will be a pain in the ass to access for those users who came from these countries.

So here[1] are non-kyc gambling site, they may don't have or have active scam accusations on this forum so DYOR first. Note that i don't own that site, i just saw it in google so again DYOR.

1705  Economy / Economics / Re: Lebanese depositors smash up, burn Beirut banks on: February 17, 2023, 11:50:24 PM
I feel like attacking and destroying such establishment will do harm than good. But yeah, you can feel the rage of these people when realising that you can't get what you save for several years. Which crypto has the advantage for but only when you do all security measures to secured your funds as you be your own bank.
1706  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin testnet faucets and scam ads on: February 17, 2023, 11:33:07 PM
If it would be some ad banner, I wouldn't blame them for it. Usually owner of website don't have much control over what is shown there.
More particularly, a text ad. Like what is shown in etherscan ads iirc. Probably the site owner uses an ad service, with that kind of link uBlock or even other ad blocker (hopefully) warns user when clicking such link.
1707  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend crypto payment gateway for a small e-commerce site? on: February 17, 2023, 05:29:41 AM
I do not want to cause you frustration, but most of the third-party services for bitcoin payments are not good for several reasons, for example some of them sometimes ask for KYC
For businesses running its services getting payment gateways, business-related information is really required, knowing ecommerce sites using card payments, Paypal, and other fiat payments 90% KYC is required, which is business owners are not surprised when asked basic KYC and business-related information.
1708  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Sign and verify easily with BitcoinMessageTools on: February 16, 2023, 11:50:03 PM
This part "5) Both CLI and web tools are fully open-source, you can find relevant code here and here"
Thanks, didn't read the whole thread just go to directly to site :my bad:
Unfortunately, this was written on python, so i can't implement it on my site.
1709  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Owl.games confiscated 0.1 BTC for rediculous reason on: February 16, 2023, 11:19:23 PM
Ahh... Owlgames, a name I haven't heard in a while. And you too, been a while.

Yes, their customer service is notoriously poor.
This is a very obvious on what service they are trying to built. And obvious reason that they don't want to deal the community from this forum towards their platform while they get mostly their users from here.
Just like i said before limiting their support will give nothing but nightmare to those who want to access their support when their website built-in support is too slow handling issues.
1710  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Sign and verify easily with BitcoinMessageTools on: February 16, 2023, 10:40:24 PM
Can you make the project open source? If ever? I have made a website page for this too on my newly made website but i can't find any bitcoinjs library to make the signing message works without running nodejs that can verify message both segwit and legacy address. So currently its not working lol.

Gotcha, found it.
1711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend crypto payment gateway for a small e-commerce site? on: February 16, 2023, 01:49:11 PM
I usually find some website using Bitpay service in its been a long time
Because its easy, like ready to use integration using different CMS' ecommerce platform which most of the ecommerce shop these days are built many more features. But for the worst case that will happen is getting lock your funds for some reasons, having slow support, asking KYC requirements, etc.
1712  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FreeWallet.org stole my money on: February 15, 2023, 11:56:05 PM
That's unfortunate but good thing that's only few bucks. Their wallet sucks its their scheme already locking account through AML requirements. The only thing i think that newbies create an account there is the same thing what blockchain.com, their SEO service because of their site's names which gives an advantage.
1713  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Phishing email from Namecheap on: February 15, 2023, 04:12:58 PM
Usually, phishing emails comes from a fake address, but in this case, this email came from the original email which may have caused people to believe in it. Not everyone will go on the internet and search if MetaMask requires KYC or not.
Likewise, I often see messages from fake emails with many variations, but this time it was indeed a stir from the namecheap support email that made big news, but at least by getting into the news in several big articles one can see that it was not all from metamask or Namecheap for denying it.
Email spoofing as attack for phishing is common and easy to manipulate, so people should always be cautious of any kind of emails legit or looks like legit that ask payments for any transaction that you never did.
As namecheap uses third party api for their emails, this will probably look like the ledger incident where millions of emails and personal data where get accessed.
1714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else getting deflated with the bitcoin naysayers? on: February 15, 2023, 10:44:44 AM
Bitcoin value with a simply supply and demand will explain everything.
For those who have no knowledge of bitcoin, it is useless to talk about the supply, what they need is faith in bitcoin.
Faith? You are going to tell a unknowledgeable to bitcoin about "faith in bitcoin"? If you were the one who try to convince me about that bitcoin ideology then i'll be one of those peers of OP who will tell bitcoin is indeed a ponzi base on that ideology.

Anyone who knows supply and demand on explaining it will gasp at least a little knowledge on how bitcoin works, on how it had a value when it doesn't have physical form because that's how bitcoin increase so much, simply because of its demand.
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else getting deflated with the bitcoin naysayers? on: February 14, 2023, 11:33:11 PM
In fact, if talking to more than one person, it seems to be almost a witch-hunt on how bad of a ponzi bitcoin is, and how 'it is backed by nothing', etc.
A person with no idea of how ponzi work other than how it is backed by nothing is illogical calling bitcoin as ponzi.
In fact almost every local currency in the world is backed by nothing other than trust to the government itself since tge gold standard was removed.

Bitcoin value with a simply supply and demand will explain everything.
1716  Other / Meta / Re: A question about the source link in other people's texts on: February 14, 2023, 08:01:54 AM
To avoid committing "plagiarism" you should cite the source properly.

That's judgmental though, what's "proper" to me may not be proper to you.
We are talking about "plagiarism" here. And plagiarism is another form of theft, which is a crime. The forum is strict on this subject, if you don't want get banned just properly[1][2] cite the d*mn source. You don't need to make it more complicated, or make fancy of it.

Obviously, making the source (URL) visible only when hovered it make it not clickable (browser thing), so how it can be considered as the source.

1717  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Phishing email from Namecheap on: February 14, 2023, 03:01:41 AM
What i received is different, it was a DHL delivery related email. It ask payment for shipping fee so it wont return to the seller which is a known scam idea, so i just ignore and move it to trashcan. I just bothered when namecheap email regarding the scam email which i thought it wasn't from them.

This is a 100% email spoofing which is easy to do by scammers/hackers.

1718  Other / Meta / Re: A question about the source link in other people's texts on: February 13, 2023, 11:31:40 PM
To avoid committing "plagiarism" you should cite the source properly.

Yeah, it looks "cooler" and "new/unique" than other ways used by other members but it is indeed a bad example, and i still avoid it and will use the obvious one.
1719  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Logo imperfection on: February 13, 2023, 10:32:11 PM
If there is an archive on bitboy's original logo on HD quality then we can check it if there is. Even the thread's archive[1] has low quality images. I'd only think this is a little bit graphic error from those who traced the logo to become HD or whatever you call it. But still good observation though.

If FTX pays its customers back, do you think it will rise to glory again? Or is it game over for it?
Well if they can recover the bankruptcy, pay debts in any way, reorg the company, do much effort on strategic ways on how they will make more profit than before, that's possible. But knowing crypto companies rely much more on crypto's trend and knowing crypto is currently in the bad shape. I don't think it will happen.
