You want to be in the top POS coins, if you don't know what they are, CINNI is one of them. +BC/XBC/SHIBE imho

I think people are concerned with what happened to the BTC raised from the IPO, not the xbc

Big exchanges cannot ignore 200-500 btc volume every day for a week. We'll get there ladies and gentleman, soon enough.

I agree without a doubt Smiley Volume=Money for exchanges... price does not matter as much

Glad I held them, I actually had faith Mintpal and Cryptsy and the talented people out there would manage a solution. New logo is 1000X better, really top notch work!
1826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [AC] Official Asia Coin Revival | Hard Fork and Voiding Pre-Mine on: May 05, 2014, 03:06:02 PM
AsiaCoin Reverse-Scam

The aim of the project is to remove the premined coins. We have developers onboard to do this and work is already underway.

Background: AsiaCoin was launched as a coin with high potential, but the developer had hidden a code inside that hid a significant amount of pre-mine. This was made public earlier, and now the community is trying to revive AsiaCoin, with the support of its members and those who invested in AsiaCoin, to fix the issue, and relaunch the coin with a hard fork. Cryptsy has already risen voice that they are willing to list AC again, if the premine issue is fixed.

You can visit http://cryptosteam.com/ for a list of people who lost their AC, there are a significant amount of money and investment at stake. If you want to be added to the list, send a PM to CryptoSteam.

As the developers are working on the issue, we welcome new developers who are interested (we need you), but also we need help with other aspects of the revival, such as:

  • New Website (design and hosting): Many thanks volunteers!

  • New Logo: We have one! [link], new ideas/logos also welcome
  • Social Media Activity: I created a new Twitter account for now but we need a couple of people who can be active besides myself

Follow, Retweet, spread the word that AC is not dead.

Like and Share! Let's spread the word!

In case you want to have a look, the source code is available here:

https://github.com/micryon/AsiaCoinFix

I'm fully committed to this, and I will update the OP accordingly for the foreseeable future. Members of the community are also very generous, so if you help us with reviving this project, I am very confident that you will have all of our supports in every way.

Exchanges:

Bter.com
Cryptsy
Mintpal
(all three have confirmed that once we resolve the issue, AC will be relisted)

Donations (BTC): 1FjfP4pRgsjYPQUX5Uep9HMfFw6stsE9G3
Goal: 5 BTC for development, 5 BTC for marketing
Status: 0.00 of 10 BTC
Note: only micryon has access to the coins.

Donations (AC): We will enable AC donations after we fixed the issue.

This thread is NOT self-moderated. We need transparency and trust, but please do not spam as I won't be able to delete them!

That logo is awesome! Nice work!
1827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 05, 2014, 01:26:02 PM
Looks like the Wired.com article has been posted...

http://www.wired.com/2014/05/bitcoin-anonymous-projects/

Later this year, they plan to release Zerocoin, another alternative to bitcoin that uses a technique to anonymize its coins that’s much stronger than Dark Wallet’s or DarkCoin’s, and that’s impossible with bitcoin as it currently functions.

Much stronger, sure ?

"Backdoor for Police" Zerocoin? Hard to unring that bell. I don't think they will build a backdoor for police in Zerocoin, just a mistake to blurt it out, like, "If people will buy Dogecoin they will buy anything", but they mentioned the possibility of a backdoor to catch money laundering. I know at that point it was all Darkcoin as the winner. Been recommending and mining DRK since the beginning, no brainier.
1828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]AsiaCoin v2 [AC2] - PoS on: May 04, 2014, 11:34:09 PM
The best job that I've seen so far is what the Whitecoin guys were able to pull off.  Patch the src, retain existing connections to exchanges.  Although it shut down for awhile but came back up.  Although not at its highest peak value...  WC is still being traded at maybe 1/2 moving day average.  It has a chance.

Think about it this way: anyone can make any number of new coins , and offer an exchange from AC (like what the panda guys are doing).. but it just won't be the same, it'll be perceived more as a giveaway than anything else.

I've had some experience saving coins .. so take it for what it's worth. Smiley

Agreed, and that is likely the most viable plan, thanks!

Rat4 and others saved WC, and mostly, investors. Asiacoin had some interesting ideas with POS and 100% interest for the first year only, and nobody knew how that would play out long term. (I did buy a lot in just in case people held for the interest and scarcity overall increased on exchanges..lol) Be nice if it could be saved even for the experiment of seeing if a super high interest POS coin is viable or not. Yes, I would also not like to lose my ass on trusting that a coin so popular had to be legit. Pretty much devastated from the scam personally and should not have had that much in it, but I had no way to know this could even happen. Never heard of it before.
1829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Relaunch on: May 04, 2014, 06:01:42 PM
Im calling the mogonzo and rat4 dev of both BC and WC to help. Please be polite.

Top notch people there, if anyone can save it, they can.

What I dislike is the notion that people should just give up and not try and find a solution and move on. If you want to help, great, and thanks, but please don't throw salt in wounds of people that trusted exchanges and assumed this jaw dropping amount of negligence wouldn't happen on so many major exchanges at the same time. This could have happened to anyone that wasn't checking the code, which is most all of us.

Losing this much actually makes me want to just give up on cryptos, but sure, fiat is an even worse scam, and crappy as this is, cryptos and decentralization are still the best hope the future. Please help if you can or just leave us alone. Thank you. Was not all in, but 25% of everything from what I traded since early last year, countless thousands of trades and miners mining coins - bad move now, obviously, but I had no way to know this would happen and thought AC was safe overall based on massive volume and interest by the general public. I had just put in a large order the night before this happened so I lost even more. Great timing.
1830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Relaunch on: May 04, 2014, 05:37:35 PM
I guess, we have to bring hope and hope for the best he comes back Smiley losts of money is at stake here, i dont think dev would just do this. I sent him a PM lol. and btw i bought 920k ACs for 15BTCs total, i think we can assume responsibility if the dev doesnt show up

TBH you are sounding like someone who worked with the dev to perpetrate the scam, or perhaps the scammers other account... or just messing with people.

In either case.. please stop you've done enough damage to people.  Don't rub it in.

If you didn't lose thousands of dollars maybe your opinion doesn't matter as much? It really doesn't, sort of like you are just watching someone else get robbed and happy CINNI didn't have a hidden premine of billions. Coming in like a vulture for CINNI is far worse than suggesting a solution, practical or not. I do appreciate you highlighting the obvious scam in the code that the exchanges missed, as they didn't bother to even check the code to make sure what they were selling was safe before taking all our BITCOIN.

For all the people that claim it was obvious, (twitter) "The said it had NO PREMINE, that means it was likely a scam", and the like. Nonsense. This could have happened with any coin if exchanges are not checking the code and anonymous developers and aliases are "ok" with everyone. fyi: I sold CINNI after I saw the fairly slow development and a bunch of vultures coming into Whitecoin, and now here looking for new victims.
1831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOINPLUS??? on: May 04, 2014, 04:35:11 AM
Seriouscoins14 is legit and so is XBC. Great branding as well, and yes, a name and branding matter a lot. First IPO I know of on Bitcointalk.org that was legit, maybe there were some other ones that I missed, but that alone is special. I believe they destroyed over 100k USD of coins, and I think that shows serious commitment. Also, I just bought coins at the going rate as I believe in it. The distribution is fair as early adopters took a lot more risks, making it more fair.

Asiacoin and Whitecoin were a disaster, and I lost a lot in AC as I assumed the exchanges would look at the code! XBC is open source, available for review, and far more akin to the early days of Blackcoin with a very talented group of people, working hard on a vision to make it happen. I suggest doing more research and not dismissing it outright. I think this coin has amazing long term potential and appeal to the mass market.
1832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Relaunch on: May 04, 2014, 04:10:18 AM
Lost around 300k, Mintpal, Cryptsy, BTER... the only reason I had that many AC was I TRUSTED THE EXCHANGES! I don't care if they relist it at a 1000 AC per litoshi, they are responsible for selling bad code to us, period. There is no excuse on earth why Crypsty, and BTER, and Mintpal, and all the rest let this happen and just blame the devs and not themselves. Exchanges charge fees and make a fortune, it is their responsibility to make sure they are not participants in a con that steals hundreds of thousands from their paying customers. Never in all my trading have I had a coin go to zero, ever, and I started trading on the first exchanges. Unacceptable.

Please add me to the list. Some type of fix or rebranding is required and exchanges should find some way to help their customers, or we can't trust them.
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Relaunch on: May 03, 2014, 03:07:32 PM
So much FUD, will AC also steal my Bitcoins and kill my dog? Panic sellers almost always lose.
1834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Crypto, Fiat, Bullion pairs / Multipool on: May 03, 2014, 07:44:51 AM
Smiley Agree with you as long as we make sure everything works "well enough" and the promotional / proof material about the coin destruction is out before getting on MintPal.
It's going to be hard enough to reassure folks that the coins are irretrievably dead and gone. That will be a big issue. These days trust is the number one thing. We have to earn it. Arriving on any exchange with strange XBC numbers on CMC, no wallet or inaccessible proofs of coin destruction will, IMHO, damage if not kill the coin. Don't make it easy for the trolls.
What's the rush? If it means a better result, why not give it and the devs a bit of breathing space?  Wink

We can reassure folks with 100% certainty beyond any doubt in a multiverse full of universes containing earths mining bitcoins that the coins are dead gone and buried. I posted the link to our proof in the OP, any developer/code savvy user will vouch that the coins are history.

Also, it took our good friend unick only 10 minutes to turn around and give me an api that removes the coins.. I already sent a message over to gliss from coinmarketcap. He should be able to use that to fix the total supply. so concerns with CMC should be fixed. If anybody asks what happened to the extra coins, just point him to the post I left in the OP - Novacoin used the same procedure and had zero issues.

Yes, there is no doubt the extra coins are 100% destroyed. That is the wonderful thing about open source technology, easily verifiable. Seriouscoin has earned a lot of respect from me - but of course buying in early was scary, just mentioning that as to me that makes the distribution extremely fair. Early adopters gained more, and the ones that got in before me did even better, but they took the biggest risks and deserve the biggest rewards. Should go *way* higher too!
1835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Crypto, Fiat, Bullion pairs / Multipool on: May 03, 2014, 06:58:41 AM
Poloniex was dossed because of the XBC panic buy?

Yeah. If you guys saw a panic buy because of the CMC listing I bet that was it. I was not on Polo at the time it went down.
The XBC block explorer seems to be DDOSed also or having a speed issue with the Rich list.

So I guess that is a good sign for value of XBC but annoying for Polo and XBC to deal with the DDOS.

It could totally be something else but the CMC listing was just hours ago right? Like 2-3 hours ago?
Same time as Polo going down. That would also give a DDOSer the time to move BTC in to buy coins
as an added effect but that is pure speculation of course.

Seen this before with other coins.

WOW this is a good sign if we are being ddossed all over the place, XBC is a force to be reckoned with. You won't see me doing a noob panic sell once POLO opens..I will probably need to upload more btc!! Nice to see more of the Community here and the IRC is packed daily..also hello to Armin too!! Smiley

You find this to be reassuring!

I think "terrifying" is a better word for it! One thing is certain, the early adopters of this coin took huge risks and that makes the distribution very fair. While I just bought coins on Poloniex at the going rate, and got to go through some scary times, buying in the IPO had to be even more nerve-racking. Much easier to wait until later, about now, and then buy in after the excess coins have been safely destroyed and such. Now, if only Poly would come back online soon. Smiley ... #15 on volume and we can't even trade! Can't wait till we can, heh..

All funds are safe. Poloniex does use cold wallets.

Well, you made me feel much better.

Thanks for the updates as well. Take the time it needs, better safe than sorry. I can wait. Smiley
1837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni | PoS | No premine on: April 30, 2014, 07:39:32 PM
For the website, shouldn't the ideology behind the coin be more than pumping the coin? Perhaps focus on future developments and current tech? "CINNI CLUB"

The theme looks really nice though. Smiley
1838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Poloniex IPO / crypto, fiat, bullion pairs / UPDATED on: April 30, 2014, 06:40:57 PM

I put together an idea for a vector logo for XBC, wanted to get the community's opinion on it and if you all like it I can release the svg/ai file.

Of course XBC donations are accepted  Grin

Very cool, but perhaps too much like Bitcoin?

I think the name "Bitcoinplus" is enough like Bitcoin already. Wink

The original logo looks fantastic in my opinion, really sharp, so I don't see any reason to change the original one? Just my thoughts though!
1839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Poloniex IPO / crypto, fiat, bullion pairs / UPDATED on: April 30, 2014, 03:07:31 PM
what algo is xbc running on? it should be a very modern rotating one to prevent people singlehandedly forking the chain woth 1 knc. The technical details should feature prominently on the first page of this thread.
Then everybody who owns xbc can contribute to the stability and security of the network. atm mining fees and traffic is so low that nobody mines which prevents any growth of xbc beyond polo.
Anybody working on a simple webpage yet? Doesnt have to be great, just basic info for now. There could be a bounty for this...

I think it needs to go pure PoS, and disable PoW. Let tx fees go
to those with their wallets open minting new coins.

Then it makes it much harder to attack because they would need
to own 51% of all coins.

Agree 100%
1840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Poloniex IPO / crypto, fiat, bullion pairs / UPDATED on: April 30, 2014, 03:06:42 PM
There is literally a feeding frenzy for this coin on poloniex..what is going on with this coin?Is it supposed to be some kind of super bitcoin??If it just turns out to be another of those hyped up mirages then it will be the biggest cruel joke in crypto history!..some trolls are even saying it is to take bitcoins place..thats very unrealistic

I think it could end up as one of the top new POS coins, why not? Look how well things like WC have done. XBC has way more potential.

I agree that it sounds impressive and boasts good features but there are inexperienced traders on poloniex just throwing every last cent they have into it.How can people be so foolish to trust something that they know basically nothing.I agree that it will be a rare coin but how can it be traded if it is so rare unless people are eventually only able to afford to trade minute fractions of 1 XBC?I am not running the coin down or anything but it certainly has a lot to live up to by the way people are bragging about its true value.

People are going all in on Zetacoin... (based on rumor and not facts) Honestly, I think people are nuts to go all in on any coin. There are three hot new POS coins, I won't mention the other two here, but I think it is a very good idea to have some in each of the three best. What I can say is any coin that just changed the color to clone blackcoin, avoid. We need to see if they develop this more, but slick branding, polished logo, and the rarity is a nice angle. A proof of stake "bitcoin+" that generates more "Bitcoins+s".... Pretty clever. Compared to just making "purplecoin" and changing 6 lines of code.

I am not in the IPO and am pretty hyped about it, but I just bought it. I am hyped about the other two POS coins I am in as I think they will also do well.
