1821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem is that it could take again many years to recover on: April 19, 2021, 03:08:19 PM
I have no problems seeing a bright future for BTC, but after a major retracement it might again take many years to recover. Look at the last sell off down to $3700. It took almost 4 years to make new ATH.
So should this be the major, expected drop, it could again take many years for BTC to reach 100k.
Many people will be dead before BTC will reach 1 mio.

Probably true. Considering we will all be dead before the last bitcoin will be mined, then it is also possible that most of us are dead when it reaches a million dollar a piece. But since we also were here when it is just a few cents a piece, it is just fair.

These retracements is like a cycle in bitcoin. Just make the most out of it. Buy when it retraces and don't just wait for it to reach new ATH.
1822  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bilyonaryo dahil kay BTC on: February 18, 2021, 12:24:37 AM
I wonder lang kung pano nya yun makaka cash out medyo may kahirapan since malaking halaga.

UU nga eh no? Medyo nakakatakot tuloy, baka maisipan nia mag cashout ma bankrupt ang coins.ph Cheesy

Pero siguro, di nia icacash out yan. Baka gamitin nia lang sa mga transactions na natanggap ng bitcoin or crypto as currency. Kung magcashout man sia siguro kunti lang. Kasi malaking issue yan sa tax at money laundering kapag nagcashout ng ganyan kalaki. Naisip ko lang.
1823  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What trading strategy do you use? on: December 17, 2020, 03:43:37 PM
https://blog.digifinex.com/2020/12/16/trading-strategies-for-beginners/

1. Hedging
2. Asset Allocation
3. Swing Trading
4. Short Selling
5. Dollar-Cost Averaging

I always use dollar-cost averaging for long term investments. It works for me so far. I just regularly buy some when the price is up, and buy more when it is crashing.

I also use scalping when the market is very alive. When there is so much action, it is easy to get a few bucks using scalping.
1824  Local / Pilipinas / Re: ATH na ba? on: November 30, 2020, 03:41:05 PM
Kabayan sana gising pa kayo para ma enjoy ninyo ang takbo ng bitcoin ngayon.
I believe we will see a new ATH tonight as we welcome a new month .

Before, December nag ATH, pero I think November this time.

Enjoy muna natin ang ATH tsaka na natin pag usapan ang possible correction at dip nito.

sana nga kabayan magtuloy tuloy na yung trend na ito. NEW ATH, here he comes.

Actually ang tagal kong nawala dito pero kanina nakita ko yung biglang pag-angat ng bitcoin at curios lang ako kung ano ang tingin ng mga taga btctalk dito.
1825  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Mga may pera sa stocks, kamusta? on: May 06, 2020, 08:24:14 AM

1826  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm starting to enjoy the lockdown on: April 10, 2020, 11:42:45 AM
I get to relax in the comfort of my home. I can't do these before the lockdown. Work alone consumes most of my time in a day. Now I get to sit down, relax, do leisure activities and enjoy the company of my family. I'll worry financial problems later when all of this is over.
1827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I sold my 0.67 BTC!! on: March 29, 2020, 05:03:03 PM
Hello Community! What’s going on? Hope you guys are safe & staying home! Basically, I live in New York (I’m an expatriate indeed) & you guys know the current situation!! We are suffering badly, although I’m not scared of! Last night I sold my loving 0.67 BTC, since I need cash money!
I believe, in near future when the situation will be normal, I’ll buy it again since I have no doubt on the future of BTC & its use case! Please guys, stay home stay safe & don't forget to pray for us.

Sad to hear that you have to sell your bitcoin now while we are still in a big dip. I have not sold mine yet but I am thinking about it. I still have cash savings to use but if this crisis goes longer, I think I have to sell mine too.

Anyway, there will still be opportunities to earn and buy more in the future. For now, let's all stay safe and do everything to survive.

1829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 17, 2020, 06:45:54 PM
Donovan Mitchell is feeling great.
It may really not affect on them since they are all healthy athletic people.

https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1239549150729035776

Well, it is in the statistics that only those who are old and already have compromised health before COVID-19 dies. So, healthy players like Mitchell and Gobert will survive this. We do not have to worry about them. We should worry about the people they got in contact with. Most of them are not as healthy as these athletes.
1830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are your safe haven now? on: March 17, 2020, 02:58:35 PM
Bitcoin is safe haven for me, people should stop talking as if it's over for crypto, it's not, I prefer having 1 BTC than holding 4k in stable coin because I know what that 1BTC can become in future, I care less about present value right now
Bitcoin is not really a safe haven but a risky investment. But we are holding into its performance in the past. History will show us that bitcoin always bounce back after a big dip. It may take some time, a few months to a year but it always bounces back and even make a new all-time high in the process.

1831  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc going to 2k or 3k or 7k or 9k on: March 17, 2020, 01:56:41 PM
Hi, guys! Most market expert r so confused about the next move of btc as all markets r fluctuating drastically. People r considering CoVid-19 fear for such damage in the market but if so then what r we gonna see in near future in all markets? If research center got success in inventing antidote then also making it in such a huge amount then distributing it worldwide would be a great deal for all countries. Most of market analyst are guessing to see one more dump in crypto market.. How do see market going? Share your opinion in present poll  Roll Eyes  Kiss

We are not really sure when and how this crisis will end. I am tired of analyzing the market right because everything can go south very fast as long as the threat of COVID-19 is there. So prepare for the worse. It could still go down and maybe that is for the best for those who want to horde more. We have to tank this dump and when the crisis is over market will go back to normal. And maybe by then, the bull will start.
1832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 16, 2020, 11:20:50 PM
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28908729/sources-owners-execs-bracing-mid-late-june-best-case-scenario-nba-return
Mid-late June. It will almost be October again when all games will be done.
I bet they will make haste of everything since they don't really need to go from different states.
In that case it might even affect next season, if current one drags for too long. What NBA could do to shorten  the playoff season once it starts is to reduce amount of wins needed. So maybe go for best of 5 series for all games except the final. It wouldn't be something that we didn't in NBA before, as from 1984 till 2003 that's how first round of playoff was sorted. Or maybe even introduce best of 3, as it was before that, for thr first playoff round.

There is one even more exciting idea, albeit completely unrealistic: single elimination tournament. So something similar to NCAA and "March Madness". For me that is sometimes even more exciting that NBA playoffs, but I doubt that NBA is ready for that kind of experiment.

It is hard to plan anything though, since no one knows how and when will all this end.
They can also shorten this regular season and do the playoffs and finals in the same format. Then have another shorten regular season next year. Playoffs and finals are the most exciting games, so I do not think fans will want a shortened format for playoffs and finals. NBA can easily recover revenue losses in many other ways.

I am afraid NBA may not come back in a month like we assumed when it was postponed. The disease looks a lot more serious than it looked just a week ago and there is a lot more prevention nowadays.

Even if they find a cure right now, it will still take time to mass-produce and distribute it. It will really take time before the world will be back to normal.
1833  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona has killed economy of many businesses on: March 16, 2020, 06:10:50 PM
If all the countries can take a coordinated action (self-isolation like all the people did in China) and contain the virus in each persons home or hostpital, then virus will die in two weeks, either killed by the man they infected or by time, which is no more than a few days)

However, some countries like England and Sweden are taking a normal approach, let it spread, only cure the infected people, then it will jump from person to person, lasts much longer, eventually reaching everywhere and it will take months or years to stop it

A very simple solution to a very complicated problem. This could work if only all of us will be disciplined enough to follow self and community quarantine. But most of us are hard-headed idiots who defy government mandates. Like in our country, the President issued a community quarantine and curfew but some responded with a rally. Instead of cooperating so we can flatten the curve of infection, some choose to do the opposite.

Businesses can be restarted. Economies can recover. But we need all of us to cooperate so we can at least slow down the spread of the virus until our scientist finds a cure.
1834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is it , it's the end of cryptos on: March 16, 2020, 04:20:20 PM
Well guys this is the end ,it was a great ride ,we made money,we lost money ,we had fun ,it was a beautiful journey .
We only have just begun. This is not the end. Stop trolling.

All markets are down not just the crypto market. I view this drop/bear as just a temporary set back, at least in price.

They will never recover,at least we should learn the lesson from this crises.

Bitcoin has bounced back from a more severe drop before and every time it does, it returns stronger than before. I believe most of us still believe that way. And as long as there are believers in bitcoin and cryptocurrency, it will overcome this crisis.
1835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 16, 2020, 05:46:43 AM

One of my deepest thoughts when I read about COVID-19 details was can it really be seen even if the virus ain't matured yet?
Does those test kits really focus on looking at COVID-19 or is it just for the symptoms?

It would be a totally useless test kit if it is just looking for symptoms, ain't it? They are swabbing your saliva and using high tech machines to detect presence of COVID-19. I am sure it can detect the early stages of the virus.

They could just say it is negative because this is healthy people we are talking about. Which also means the detection may be quite difficult that it may take 2-3 weeks before it matures.

Self- determination will be hard because it requires two weeks before you can see the symptoms. But if you have contact with known victims, the test kits will show if you are infected or not.

ESPN, Fox and all the sports news outlet who interviewed Gobert should also be tested with this. It may become worse if they are scattering that virus without knowing it.
They should be, but I think it is already covered. And, they also should self-quarantine.
1836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad projects equals Bad results on: March 15, 2020, 02:20:55 PM
I also noticed that utility tokens do not normally care about the price of their tokens, especially the US-based projects. They cannot make a move to make the price go higher because they will be shut down if they do. If they got dumped during the first few months listed because of bounty hunters, it will be very hard for them to recover. So every utility token I have, I dumped immediately upon listing. They are not bad projects, they are just not geared towards price but development of their projects. It will take years before the token reaches the ICO price.
1837  Economy / Speculation / Re: we all were waiting for bitcoin halving, we got bitcoin price halving on: March 14, 2020, 02:35:40 PM
Honestly I didn't expected this after some great performances shown from the past two months, well that's how crypto is all about. It's extremely volatile for sure, even the so called analysts and experts are confused for this huge downfall and the entire forum reveal corona virus was the one which caused the major problem for the downfall in the market, let's not break our heads on this let's hope things will settle down in a real quick time and this halving could be a great moment.

It is not just cryptomarket, the whole market is in crisis right now. No one really expected this to be this worse. This whole corona virus situation can still get worse until the vaccine is found. So we better prepare ourselves. For me, I am expecting the worse and hoping for the best. I am not dumping, but try to accumulate more and hope we see a better 2nd quarter 2020.
1838  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people have been panic selling? I didn't. on: March 14, 2020, 01:29:13 PM
I was asleep when all this panic selling was happening. When I checked the price, it is already at 5K. I have no time to react at all.

I have positions to buy at sub 7000, so all those positions were hit. Bad time for me to be away from my computer. I could have moved my buy positions at a lower price if I was active.

Anyway, everyone has their own reasons for their actions. I will try to take advantage of this situation, what's your move?
1839  Economy / Economics / Re: Coronavirus is very harmful to fiat currencies, not bitcoin on: March 13, 2020, 04:52:26 PM
Have you seen how governments responded to the corona virus?

Quite simply, in Italy, the US and elsewhere, they will increase their budget deficit, and add debt
It is turning into a global crisis, I do not think they have other options.

In my understanding, that's very bad for fiat currencies, while BTC will remain unaffected, thanks to the lockdown on money supply.
Say that to the current price. 12.47% down in 24 hours, that is a huge drop. The crisis brought by COVID-19 should not affect bitcoin but it still affects the holders. We are just humans, we get scared, we panic and we panic sell. Hope we recover from this crisis soon.
