@jakelyson congrats bro. 3/3

Thanks!

Finally!!! After a week of pure L's, I finally got a win on my parlay. Good day today for me.

Tomorrow, we only have 3 games in NBA. Quite lonely for NBA bettors but still LA Lakers have good odds against Cleveland Cavaliers @2.50. Laker backers might enjoy these odds since the Lakers are doing great lately. Even beating a higher rank Milwaukee Bucks on the road.

1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is pay to earn considered gambling? on: December 05, 2022, 11:20:47 PM
We all know poker doesn’t require to be lucky as much as it requires you to be skilled to win, and even though we poker is still considered as gambling. I wish to know if these games such as FPS which you can put for example in a room of 10 players everyone puts 5 dollars and the winner takes the whole 50 dollars, Are considered as gambling.
And also if there’s any known and trusted website or casino that allows such games. I find them better than gambling and lucky games

That is still considered gambling since you put money and expect to get the money from other players when you win. I think that is not profitable for a casino since there is so much needed to get that going. They need refs, the location where players can play. I think that is why no casino is picking that up. Casinos only pick up professional tournaments and they act as bookies where you can bet for your favorite teams. It will be very expensive for them to host the event themselves.

I suggest, if you really are good at FPS games, then try to be a professional gamer. Rank up and get noticed by professional groups. They pay higher and with a contract, you are secured. If you are playing since you were young, then you should be very adept by now and can be a professional gamer if you pursue it. If you think you do not have enough skill to be professional gamer, then another choice is to stream games and earn from it. As long as you are entertaining to watch, you can have followers in social media and other streaming platforms.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2022, 11:10:00 PM
The centre position itself has changed a lot in the league, that is one part of the solution. I mean sure AD is playing better and more comfortable there now, but when he got to the league Centre was a different position and he is famously a kid who played PG all his life and then grew tall so he had to learn how to play inside, which caused a bit of a trouble for him to play the centre.

Nowadays centres do not bang up each other, they play with skill too, and that is why AD is doing a lot better, he doesn't face Embiid or Gobert type centres in all games, he faces Jokic style players and that doesn't mean they are less talented, it just means it works better for him.

I think AD is still more comfortable playing forward than center. He is quoted that he prefer that position because he can be help defender and he know when someone passed him, there is still a center that got his back. But the Lakers did not acquire a center so he is forced to play as center. It is good that he is adopting but I think the Lakers should give the best position for AD. They should acquire a legit center to go with AD.

There's no easy way for them to get into the playoffs even if they perform better even though they are in good shape right now and AD is a beast recently still no guarantee for them to place on playoffs automatically. Remember many teams are so strong and also AD is injury prone so they need to be consistent and healthy so that they can reach their target and will not get another big upset on their careers.

Even if we remove the injury-prone factor from AD, it will still be very hard for them. He needs to perform a monster performance in order to carry the Lakers. That is very hard and very exhausting. He would not be able to do that the whole season. WB and Lebron also need to do monster performance to match AD. Without help, they will end up at the bottom or play-in again this year.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 05, 2022, 06:40:33 PM
There's nothing much that we can do but just give them our full support. We can't do anything with the setup as the SBP is owned not by the government but by a private entity or corporation that can control everything there. And as we know, Chot is being held by the MVP company and that's why he can't be moved on his position as the coach and even managed to kick Tab Baldwin on that position who's been doing well based on the feed back by most that know the team's run.

That happens when for a long time the government is the one in control of national basketball team but our team was going down the drain. There is no practice, and no proper handling for the longest time. Then someone private stepped in and it was a success. We even went to FIBA world for the first time in 40 years. It was because it was well coordinated, and practice was in full swing. They build the best team PBA can provide. Now, too much politics and very little practice are happening again. It is not just the coach that is the problem, it is the whole system. We do not have grassroots programs that will train young basketball athletes to compete internationally. We can support all we want but nothing great will happen unless a good system is in place from both government and private entities.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2022, 04:42:13 PM

We have changes in the NBA Kia MVP ladder.
https://www.nba.com/news/kia-mvp-ladder-dec-2-2022-edition
1. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics - from number 2
2. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks - from number 1
3. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets - from number 3
4. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks - from number 4
5. Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns - from number 7
If AD keeps up his monster games, we will see him in the top 10 soon. (I think he is the top player in the last 10 games)

Good to see that Jayson Tatum is getting the recognition that he deserves. I think that this is the first time I have seen Tatum in the MVP race. Lately, it is either Jokic, Giannis, or Embiid in the top spot. Speaking of Embiid, where is he on the list?

I think if the Lakers reach top 8 in the West, AD will be in the MVP race as well. We all know he is carrying the heavy load in the Lakers, so he deserves to be in the top 5 if he carries the Lakers to the top 8.

Yes, Anthony Davis is indeed an important player and the key to the team's success. We already saw their situation when he wasn't around for the team and as long as Anthony Davis will remain healthy, the Lakers really got a decent shot to grab their own seat on the playoffs this season. In his last 10 games alone, he looks like he was carrying the team on his back gathering humungous points per game, and earlier he again scored 55 points and 17 rebs as they finished the Wizards on the road.

This performance of Davis put made my prediction wrong. I predicted they will be on a losing streak going out in the road because they will be facing above 500 teams, but they beat Bucks and now the Wizards. Davis is putting extra work to carry the Lakers, hopefully, his body can carry on. It is still very early in the season and going 55 points a game will put a lot of tolls in his body. He may not have enough to go in post-season. Darvin Ham should put some control on Davis to get his body rested like other stars are doing.
1088  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 04, 2022, 11:34:01 PM
The chart below doesn't really look all that good but if you have been following the price action everyday it feels like there aren't a whole lot of sellers left.  So hence the poll.
In every month there are always surprises that happen with Bitcoin. Bullish and bearish are two things that cannot be separated. November was not so good in terms of crypto changes, but the surprise remained with the price increase reaching $21.5k from $19k. But if we pay attention to December, of course this will also happen. Bitcoin's current state is clear that the small pump is starting. Price change from $16.4k to $17k.

Less likely that it will happen in December. As I recall, December is always a bear month. Maybe a few spikes here and there but mostly bears. Maybe, if there is a spike in price, that will happen before the Holiday and then a downtrend from there. I would be surprised if we end up in green from the previous month. But that is just me speculating from experience, maybe the technical side have better news or views from me.

Sometimes I'm not really sure if it's really what they really think would happen or if it's what they want to happen.  I'm guessing it's the latter as a lot of people are starting to lowball and try get in cheap.

You are probably right. At least for me, that is what I want to happen. I would like to accumulate more bitcoin with cheaper price before the next bull run comes around. Maybe, that is the same with others that is why the result of the pool in bearish.
1089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 04, 2022, 11:01:07 PM
I believe Manny Pacquiao has another exhibition after his fight with DK Yoo, now due to the scandal brought by Carlos Padilla,  Manny Pacquiao and Nedal Hussein are talking about a rematch via exhibition fight.[1]  I don't know if it is a strategy to make the possible exhibition fight(Pacquiao vs Hussein) intriguing by making Carlos Padilla spill out that they cheated Nedal Hussein making Manny Pacquiao win the match just to make a noise and give way to an exhibition fight.  Nevertheless, it looks like Manny's boxing schedule next year will be busy with these possible two incoming exhibition fights after DK Yoo.

Nedal Hussein is a dirty fighter back in the day. He uses headbutts and punches after the bell. He deserves the loss he got from Pacquiao. I watched that game recently and he gave at least two punches after the bell has rung. Padilla should have penalized the actions of Nedal. Even if it was not stopped, Pacquiao was in the lead in scoring. I do not think it will be a good exhibition fight if Nedal is just gonna play dirty. At least, I want to see a good boxing match, won in skills and not because of the dirty tactics employed by one boxer, in exhibition fights.

Key injuries for the Knicks : Ryan Arcidiacono (ankle)

1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 04, 2022, 10:29:52 PM
Size doesnt really matter on cockfighting but rather would be entirely depending on how that rooster had been trained off plus having that good body condition.I dont know on how these cock trainers do train out their cocks but its true that luck would be always take up a huge factor on determining the winner of the said fight.

Size matters because it has an advantage over smaller fowl. But in "ulutan", you should be wise in choosing your opponent. The longer the legs of the opponent, the harder it is to beat. They have a reach advantage, so size does matter. It is more even in derby because they have a range in weight, which makes the fowls more likely to be the same size.

Other factors count too. Like the bloodline of the fowl, health issues, conditioning, and the position of the gaff. If the gaffer is inexperienced, he may not get the right position for sure kill hits. Luck is a factor too, but sometimes it is dismissed because if you have a strong bloodline and well-conditioned fowl, the chance of winning is a lot higher.

What happens is that those kind of illegal events are organized regionally, so a central government has a lot of problems trying to eradicate it as the local authorities not only are not very cooperative but they also hinder their efforts, so they can never find the farms in which the animals are kept or the place where the fights are held, which is a shame as cock fights are clearly a case of animal cruelty as animals die or are maimed during those fights.

It is not hard to find farms of fighting fowl. They even have regular TV shows in our country. They announce Breeders of the Year, and they feature good farms to teach backyard breeders the proper way of taking care of their own fowls.

It is also not that hard to find illegal cock fights, because cockfights are very noisy. You can hear the shouts of gamblers from very far. If there is a good group of cockfight gamblers, you can hear them a kilometer away. You can just follow the noise and you will find them. It is just an accepted practice in some provinces though, even if it is illegal. It is a weekly activity, so if the cops really want to put a stop to it, they just have to put effort 1 day per week to catch the organizers and some gamblers.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 04, 2022, 08:57:38 PM
Which teams are still not in the top 8 of their conference that you expect to be there? In the East, we have the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat while Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers made it already. Or is the Chicago Bulls line-up not worthy of a playoff spot?

The west is too crowded with good teams. Probably only 3 to 4 teams do not have the potential of landing in the top 8. Sad to see the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers are losing most of their games now. There are still 70+ games for each team though, plenty of time but they better start showing and making necessary adjustments now.

In the west, I would have liked to see the Lakers and the trailblazers to be in the top eight positions. But at the same time, it is also true that they have not played well. And the performance that they have shown, it is honestly not expected to see them in the top eight. I did want them to be up there, but I cannot say that they deserve to be up there.

I think the situation in the east is well summarised by you. Chicago Bulls, and Miami Heat both were expected to be in the top eight in my opinion. I want to say that the Chicago Bulls lineup are not widely to play in the playoffs. But at the same time, they also did not play like they are worth it, to be honest.

Without Lonzo Ball, I do not think that the Chicago Bulls have any expectations to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. It is not that the other players are not good but the competition in the East just got bumped up. Prime Tatum and Brown in Celtics, Prime Giannis in Bucks. Then there's Harden and Embiid for 76ers and the trio in Brooklyn Net. The Bulls can still reach the playoffs but without Ball, they cannot move past the first round.

Blazers and Jazz are now feeling the pressure of the real competition, especially on the west side. They needed the right adjustment
to keep their campaign to move forward to the playoff.

Or they just need their main man back. For the Trail Blazers, they need Damian Lillard to get back and be fully healthy.

For the Jazz, they need Mike Conley. They are starless and losing Mike Conley because of injury really hurt their offense and defense. They are still performing really well though, just not enough to beat a really good team. Unlike before, they still have a chance to beat star-laden team.

They have won their last 2 games but it's not enough to get up to rank 10 in the western conference because their rivals there are already won double digits way ahead of them. For now, they are getting serious and might improve their rank in the upcoming weeks before the end of this year and might gonna get different positive outcomes after that because they are starting to play effectively these past few days. LBJ even surpassed Magic Johnson in all-time Assists and he could still play and stretch that record furthermore to be able to give the upcoming NBA stars to even come close to it.

It is worth noting that some teams perform about the same at the moment as there is only 2 wins difference between the teams in 10th place and 13th place in the Western Conference standings. So if Davis and LeBron stay healthy as long as possible, the Lakers will still have a good chance to reach the playoffs, even despite their poor performance at the beginning of the season.

That is a big IF though. For Davis and Lebron, it is not if they will get injured. It is when. They are very injury prone that every time, Davis or Lebron have a hard fall to the floor, fans are praying they get up and are not injured. 71 games still left in the season, that is still a lot of games. My hope is that they don't get long-lasting injuries that will sideline them for months. If one of them gets sidelined for a long time, prime AD is getting wasted. They need to max his playing time without risking him getting injured to maximize his value on his prime years.

Heroic will compete in this tournament without "Stavn" Martin in the Blast World Final, the last event of the year. In October K0nfig, Astralist's reserve contracts were terminated for some reason. He will now play in the Lan game tournament for the first time since October. What do you think about this tournament, will it be useful for the Heroic team?

Stavn is an integral part of Heroic. Even though we have cadiaN literally carrying the team on some maps, stavn is a key part of it by giving his team opening kills and opening a part of the map that is locked for the taking. Whoever will be standing in for him must have to fill in big shoes. Lots of eyes will be locked on him and hopefully that replacement fits in very nicely on the said team.

Is there any reason he is not participating in Blast World? Is it just really rest?

He also did not participate in Blast World Finals last year, so I am guessing this is a regular thing for him, taking rest at this point of the year. They have performed really well this year, so I guess he deserves the rest. They still have Cadian as IGL and Awper so I guess it will not really hurt them to lose one guy for this tournament. Konfig is a good fragger too, I just hope he will fit with Heroic this tournament.

1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 04, 2022, 01:48:33 PM
Long season they need to stay healthy.  That has been their downfall is they can't stay on the court for long stretches of the season.  If AD can stay healthy they will contend.  Also need to trade for another piece.  A deep threat wing or shooting guard to space the floor more would go a long way on that team.
I have this bad feeling that the Lakers will be nothing again when AD is injured. That should not be the case. They cannot be an AD-dependent team because they won't know what could happen.
Darvin Ham should try to bench him and experiment with some player combinations. Maybe in times of a back to back games.
There's one game where he didn't play but that's against the Spurs, one of the weakest teams in the league now and they only won by 5 points in a high-scoring game AD-less.

I do not think they can afford to bench AD yet. He is at his prime right now and the Lakers should not waste it. They are still catching up with wins, they badly needed, to at least get up to top 10 for a possible play in. Maybe, when they are in a comfortable position in rankings, they can give some rest to AD either by not playing back-to-back or giving less minutes to rest his body. They cannot afford AD getting injured, but they also cannot afford to sit AD out. A very difficult situation for Darvin Ham to balance.

Honestly Portland realized that they won't be able to do anything in Dame era, and looking to find new and younger players to build around a new star. They will need great players coming up draft, first it can't be a superstar right away, would be very hard to get number one pick this year for example, there is a huge expectation out of Wembayama and if they can get him, then they could build around him.

I would say the smartest thing Dallas could do this year would be that for example, get the first pick, give WHOEVER they want outside of doncic, that's it, get Doncic and Wembayama on the same team, or for Portland Dame and him again, would be great improvement.

It is still a lottery, so even both teams tank, they are not secured they will be able to get Wembayama. I think that is also the target of the Spurs.

Also, even the top pick of the draft can go bust. It happened in the past and could happen to the top pick next year. Sometime, a player play really great in college or high school but cannot convert in NBA.

Utah Jazz VS Portland Trail Blazers SCORE 111 - 116 - LOST

It seems the Utah Jazz, really needs a little more push in training themselves, they are a newly formed team that still has a ceiling to improve they still need the chemistry to know more about each of the players, not like the Trail Blazers, Jerami Grant got 33 points, and Anfernee Simons 45 points,

It was still a close game so it's okay they lose. Trail Blazers are very unpredictable but you can always rely on that Grant and Simons will drop huge points if they are shooting well. After 3 win streak, the Jazz finally lose a game, now let's see if they'll create a win streak again, and how long.

Blazers still can win games even without Lillard, how much more if they will have Lillard back in the lineup. Jazz loses one game, it's okay because they will come back and build that win streak again. I love watching this team, no big expectation from them but they are showing up, I'm just hoping their chemistry won't be ruin as they continue the season.

I lost my bet because Jazz lost at home too. It broke my parlay, but it is okay, it is part of the game. It was a close game and the Jazz still does not have Conley in their lineup. Even though the Blazers do not have Lillard, Simon has carried the team with his outside shooting. 45 points came from the young Trail Blazers. That is a huge output.

RoS was able to win their match against NLEX which secured their slot for the playoffs. They beat NLEX 110-100, a very decisive win. They will face the Top team in the conference right now, Bay Area Dragons. The Dragons have a twice-to-beat against Rain or Shine. I think it will be very difficult to win against the dragons, twice in a row. They have the advantage in height, import and camaraderie. It will be a tough job for Coach Yeng Guiao to command Rain or Shine to win against the top team, but I am beating they can surprise them in game 1. The dragons have a history of getting surprised with the tough defense that RoS can give.
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 03, 2022, 10:33:28 PM
Not really, so we believe that Pacman will just be okay with losing? Which is more important, Pacman's legacy or DK Yoo's business? I guess both have important name to protect, so they will try to win to stay popular, so I'm hoping there's no script to follow.  Smiley
If Pacquaio is losing against a big name boxer like Mayweather, he wouldn't mind about it. But DK Yoo is really unknown since he's from MMA and he haven't coached a good MMA fighter that can qualify for UFC fight, so he's literally just a local MMA coach. I think the script is make Pacquiao will win this fight since he said he will back in professional career after he won this exhibition fight. Also there's no bookies added this fight which mean there's no hype.

He will be slaughtered there. He is not quick anymore; he is already too old for Professional boxing. He should just stick to exhibition games where his health is utmost importance. If Manny wants to die in the ring, he should go back to professional boxing, otherwise, stick to exhibition matches. He can still earn money, be in the ring without the risk of getting countered heavy and ending up in the canvass knocked out for a few seconds. He is a legend but even legends have limits specially if you are already too old for the sports. It is not like chess that even if you are senior citizen, you can still play it. For professional boxing, 38 is too old and Manny is already 43.

If he insists to play pro, I think he is being duped by others around him who just want money from him without thinking the risk Manny will be facing in the pro ring.

I don't know what's valid to you, but there were indeed several rumors and articles about Manny's possibility in returning to professional boxing, and this rumors came directly from Manny's camp. I cant say, it make sense if they use this exhibition match to assess Manny's boxing skills at this age. So, most probably Manny will take this fight seriously like he's fighting a professional match, so the team could fully assess on whether or not Manny continue his professional boxing career.

That is bad assessment since he is not fighting a real boxer in the exhibition. Even if he takes it seriously, the competition is a joke. It is better to assess him against sparring partners that are also professional boxers even when they are in lower tier against him. In esports, it is like assessing a player against an AI and not on ranked games.

I think after DK Yoo he also set another exhibition match against one of his sparring partners.  This might be one of the rumors about Manny Pacquiao returning to ring in 2023 and yet it is still an exhibition fight against  Jaber Zayani his sparring partner when he fought Keith Thurman. The event will take place in Saudi Arabia in February 2023.[1]

This is a better assessment but I wish it was not an exhibition fight. Just duke it out in the ring without camera and see whether if he is still fit to fight pro or not. But most probably, with Manny's age, he is not fit to fight anymore.

I'm excited where Nisha is going because he's really one of the best mid players there and IIRC, he also played carry and just switching roles. While for Team Liquid, insania posted a hint on his twitter with a flag of Finland. Hmmm, a clue and most likely Topson will be them and will be reunited with Team Liquid's current coach - jerax.

That is a good hint. I guess Topson will be playing with them then. For Topson, his choice is limited to EU or SEA teams because his wife is in SEA. He mentioned it before. It is good for Topson, he can play with a good EU team again and with Jerax as the coach, they can give Topson the best hero he can excel in games. I expect a lot more for Team Liquid now that they will be hiring Topson on their roster.

Now I wonder where will Nisha will end up. if Topson is playing in Liquid, then the door for Liquid is closed for him.

Here is my bet for today :

Charlotte Hornets vs Milwaukee Bucks

The Charlotte Hornets (7-15) will face the Milwaukee Bucks on their home and hoping to extend their 3 game winning streak at home. The Bucks are favored @1.80 and Hornets @2.07

They need to act as pro since they are in the league which expected to be all at the professional level, refs should do their job and not to allow doubtful calls like this, better to say that they need to do their job and make the right calls, even it's  non bearing game there are viewers who will be dissapointed, especially those fans who also bets for their team.

If the call was right the chance of tying the game is possible, maybe upset can take place if ever that the ref did the right thing here.

Missed calls happens whether it is a barangay league, PBA or NBA. They are just part of the game. I think the league needs to put some fine to the erring refs so it would happen less because it affects the game. But the refs are just human, on a high speed and intense game, they can make wrong calls sometimes. It is just them being human. Players and coaches already accepted that call when the game is over because they know it cannot be reversed anymore. Fans should move on too because there is no benefit in playing the "what ifs" of the situation.
