Chot Reyes was there in the game earlier. He was actually booed by the MOA Arena crowd when introduced. I think it was very crass to boo the coach, but it reflects how the fans feel about what is happening to Gilas. All these politics is not helping the team win internationally.
Not a fan of Chot Reyes but hearing the crowd booed him is quiet disappointed at all. This is an international competition and we should show some respect not just for our team but also to our opponent. Well, the disappointment is there but I think it’s too much. Well, this is how Pinoy wants to happen then so be it. It’s good that Gilas didn’t affect that much and they still focus on the game. I hope to see the same players in the next leg of this qualifiers, they have a good chemistry already, let’s hope for Clarkson again.

There will be no Clarkson or Kai on the November or February window of the qualifiers because it conflicts with NBA and NBL schedule. It means less fire power for us but hopefully SBP will be able to find an abled replacement for both. But I think they will be available for the world cup and that is more important. At least they will be there when it matters the most.

It might be disappointing and for some, it was disrespectful as a Filipino to have such an act during a live game but it should serve as a message to the whole SBP and to Coach Chot himself that something big needs to be done. Even players like Jordan Clarkson and Dwight Ramos are supporting Coach Chot Reyes, nothing will change the fact that there's a politics in SBP.

It should be more respectful if, after that "booing" incident, Coach Chot will step down and not stay there just because SBP asked him to do it. I'm not fully against Coach Chot but for the sake of supporting Gilas, stepping down will be more appreciated. But the way things are happening, that won't likely happen.

Hopefully he recognize how much the fans want him to step down as head coach of Gilas. He was ignoring them since it is just in social media that he receives the hate but now it is live and on the court that he received the boos. That must have hurt a lot. We have a lot to thank coach Chot especially the achievements of the 2013 -2014 gilas but it is time that he steps down. His play is not effective in international tournament anymore.

T1 has a better chance to get the spot on SEA because they have the best roster on the current team that will compete on SEA qualifiers because they have the TI veterans on there Roster while the rest of the SEA team roster is composed of just a typical SEA Dota2 pro players.

You got the best top 3 on your choice and actually that 3 team is the safest team to bet on upcoming TI because they are known for having the best team on games like this and experienced the TI finals. I think the last 3 TI is circulating around those 3 teams that goes in the finals.

I think you're underestimating the grit and the hunger of SEA teams on the upcoming regional qualifiers. Sure, T1 is a powerhouse right now because of Topson and Ana joining an already capable team of supports and offlaners. But you also have other teams out there that could potentially best them if needed (Talon, BOOM, SMG, Polaris, etc.) T1 can edge out on other teams that aren't as experienced as them, but it will be interesting to see if Topson and Ana can live up to the expectations of their SEA fans when they're faced with teams that are hungrier to compete than them.

It is easier for them because the top team in the SEA already has direct invites for TI. Boom and FNATIC have enough DPC points to get a direct invite for TI so they will not be in the mix for SEA qualifiers. T1 is seating at the top of the list to qualify for TI but you are right, they should not underestimate other teams in SEA. They can still give a good fight. Though I do not think that T1 will take it easy. I am sure they will give all they have to win the qualifier. The qualifier is also a good test of whether they can work as a team with the 2-time TI champions.

Just minutes from now, the Gilas won by a huge margin against the Saudi Arabia 84-46.
The Gilas had a sluggish first quarter and the quarter almost ended with a score of 14-8 but that halftime buzzer beater of Clarkson ignited the whole team as well as the whole 19,000+ crowd and from that, they started to take the lead and never looked back.

Clarkson ended with 23 points, Sotto with a 16 point double-double and Ramos with 9 points. Next games of Gilas will be in the 10th and 13th of November against Jordan and Saudi Arabia respectively.

Nice bounce back after a disappointing loss, and I didn't see coach Chot in that game, so maybe that's the reason why they were so dominant.

The Lebanon game wasn't that disappointing. It was a close game and the players played well considering it was an away game and Lebanon is a good team too.

Chot Reyes was there in the game earlier. He was actually booed by the MOA Arena crowd when introduced. I think it was very crass to boo the coach, but it reflects how the fans feel about what is happening to Gilas. All these politics is not helping the team win internationally.

Kudos to Gilas for winning the game against Saudi Arabia. We actually had a glimpse of Kai sotto dominance in the paint when given the proper play. The Jordan-Sotto connection is real. Jordan made 6 assists out of Sotto. They had a rough start in the first half, but everything changes in the second half. They found their footing and left Saudi Arabia in the dust.

Chu's underrated and I guess that highlights him and if ever Misha goes back, there could be the team that will adopt him for the TI qualifiers if OG won't hire him like their analyst.

Chu is already the coach of OG; I do not think he will play anywhere else. And if Misha continues to have visa problems, he might be the one to stand in again. They already have a good team and good camaraderie.

OG is a master in breaking down the mentality of their opponents but the other teams have learned how to do it as well.

I think European teams already know how to break down Chinese team as displayed by Team Spirit in Arlington and OG in the recent ESL ONE Malaysia. Especially in a Best of 5, Chinese teams seems to crumble to EU teams.

There’s no doubt about the performance of TNT in game 4, in almost field they work great and with SMB struggling with their passes and offense, the result is too bad for them. The series is tied what we can expect next is both team will surely want to take the lead and only those who work hard and execute their strategy well will surely win, fixing game is not real in a series like this, and let’s see who will take the game 5 because right now it’s really hard to predict.

SMB should fix that problem. Also, the one where June Mar is trapped inside, and the ball is getting stolen by smaller guards. It is their time to adjust now because TNT seems to find that sweet spot where they can defend the onslaught of June Mar. They also should limit their turnovers. TNT was able to convert 15 pts from turnovers. They also have 17 points from the fast break. I think we will see big adjustments from the side of San Miguel to address that problem coming from TNT.

That was an intense game from the Aces vs Storm.
Oh man, Breanna Stewart. She was an offensive monster. How could you even stop that woman who has so much length and accuracy to shoot perimeter shots?
Then there's Jewell Loyd. A big help indeed, Storm needed that badly.
Sue Bird playing like a point god, It's like Jason Kidd at his veteran year of the Mavs championship. There's not even a sense of her aging. Wow.

Sun won too, both my favorites won the first game. Yey.

Lucky you! While on my part, I lost every bet I put on Aces vs Storm. I did not even hit the over, damn. Better luck next time for me.

I was not able to watch the game but was able to watch the highlights. And wow, Steward was magnificent. A tall one who fades away. How can they guard that? I think the Aces did well too, they played their strength in the 3-point area and they guarded well. Maybe a little adjustment and they will win next game.

ATF = ATM? Hahaha.

OG only proves they are better on this tournament. They manage to address all there errors during Arlington Major and completely analyze Aster strategy on this tournament. This is the weakness of Chinese team. They are using a same pattern in every and they are very good on being consistent but they always once the enemy already read there movements because they don’t have any backup plan when everything is not according to there plan. Look how Ori initiates clash when they are not the one controlling the game.  Cheesy
Haha, that trash talk but they can't do that to the champs of ESL One Malaysia 2022.  Tongue
If this is going to be the same performance in the upcoming TI then they would certainly be the champ again but with a different roster. I respect Chinese teams and I'm a fan of them because of their discipline. Each of them has their own discipline and love for the game but OG picks, tells, and plays it differently. They really are like kryptonite for the Chinese teams. Thanks to the people behind it, Ceb and N0tail, they really are helping this complete set of their roster with a bang despite Misha isn't there and having played only with a stand-in, Chu.

Chu is the stand-in in that series but he is the MVP. The saves he have done with shadow demon, time and time again, made their team fights successful. You could have not gotten a better stand in than that.

It would be different in TI. It is a tougher competition with LGD and Team Spirit going in the mix. But I think they are ready to rumble with the top dogs in DOTA.
1568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESL ONE Malaysia 2022 Discussions, Predictions and Betting on: August 28, 2022, 08:29:50 PM
Now with the conclusion of ESL One Malaysia, there'll be a month without much competitive Dota going on. Some random tier 2/3 tournaments would be along the way but not enough to satiate us for bets and such. OG winning this tournament isn't really that of a surprise to me, but the way they won it is something really great. Imagine dropping hard against Secret only to be the eventual champions of the tournament? That must feel good. Also, Ammar showed a lot to the crowd and the dota world that he's no longer ATM, and is still a reliable offlaner that you can rely on to bully the safelane to death Cheesy

Yeah, they never lost a single game today. They have 2-0 against Secret and in the Finals, they were able to sweep Aster. Never in my mind that I would think that they could defeat Aster that easily. I guess, it is Ammar's revenge on Aster for calling him ATM. I really thought Aster could give a little more fight than what they have shown. I guess OG is already prepared for TI. Only a month from now, we will see another big tournament but for now, I am content to watch the qualifiers and scout some good teams coming to the TI.
1569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 28, 2022, 08:20:58 PM

Exactly, he can certainly recover, I'm seeing him like a future Kevin Durant of the NBA, he got the height and the skills in ball handling, so even though he will be out for a whole season, OKC would still be optimistic that he'll be a big help once he comes back.

You just compared a frail teenage draft pick to one of the top 75 players all-time.  You see him as a top 1 or 2 player in the league already?  I think people need to pump the brakes comparing this kid who played in a crappy ncaa division for one year to Kevin durant.

He got the skill though and the height. So it is not far that he will be compared to Kevin Durant. Though, it also requires a lot of work coming from the kid. If he is dedicated and willing to put on the hours to put his body into shape, he can achieve what Durant was able to achieve.

It will still be Lebron, Davis and then WB. The rest of the supporting cast should perform as well and know their roles. It seems that last seson even their role players are out of sync. Howard was not good but just used sparingly by Vogel. For sure we will see a big difference and the system that Ham have in mind might work this time.

I'm not sure if Westbrook will stay, with the rumors around, it looks like Westbrook will be traded soon. One who season was given to him last season, and yet they still cannot even create a good chemistry, so what's the reason for keeping him if they cannot assure that their chemistry will improve.

I know Westbrook is good, but his individual talent is more valuable to him than being a team player, that's my observation.

They cannot create a good chemistry because they only played a few games together. Most of the time, either Lebron or Davis was injured. If these two could stay healthy this season, then maybe they can have good chemistry together.

They are also so stubborn to adjust on their drafts. They know that Ammar was owning with Mars but they still won't ban it or steal it from him. They did it in game 3 but it was too late. They are already down 2-0 and you cannot stop OG when they have the momentum. In the end they were out-drafted and outplayed. Not the game you want to see in the finals from the top seed.

Nothing much left for dota2 esports though, next one would be TI regional qualifier

Just the regional qualifiers in September before TI in October. Maybe I'll switch to watch CS:GO or LOL for a while.

For me, Las Vegas Aces may have a higher chance of making it to the Finals, so it will surely be Las Vegas Aces Versus whoever wins in the Semi-finals between the Chicago Sky VS Connecticut Sun, I am surely excited about the finals, I pretty much the Las Vegas Sky is a decent team aswell, so if they really win against the Seattle Storm then I think we can surely have a hard time predicting again, but let's see,
This game I want to be memorable if ever Breanna Stewart could carry her team and defeat the Aces. She is good, no doubt about that. For me, she is like the Kevin Durant of the NBA. But it will all come to being a champion. I know she will fight harder as she did with the Mystics. Maybe, what I want is a different ending rather than the tops being ahead again. Pro underdog to the max.  Cheesy

Everything is stacked against her though. She is against the number 1 seed. She does not have the homecourt advantage if it went to a game 5, and the Aces have a 13-5 record in their home. They are up against the Head Coach of the Year. Though it is just Hammond's first year of coaching, she was under Coach Popovich and when it comes to in-game adjustments, you know she could do it. Though in talents, Storms and Aces have an equal pool of talent to pull them off. This will all go down on how their stars will perform and how quickly the coaches could adjust.

Here's my bet on this game

1572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 28, 2022, 11:39:17 AM
OG look like they are on GodLike mode right now as nothing can stop them. I would have assume that Aster would take the game or at least 1 map but I don't think they can win 1 map as we are 3rd map in the game and OG is having 5k lead with a farmed PA ready to join the fight.

I've missed the Secret game by after getting beat by 2-0 from OG I don't think I even want to see the highlights lol.

I think Aster can still pull a map away from OG. They're not in an extremely bad situation and their heroes are very good with picking up squishy heroes that are out of position. They can even snipe PA so long as the OG reinforcements don't arrive that fast. At this point, avoiding any team fights is extremely necessary and picking off out of position heroes is the play. Though by the looks of it, I guess OG knew this is the only way they can be beat and they are sticking up as much as possible.

And just like that, Aster kind of turned around the fight to even on their favor.

Truly, OG is godlike in this ESL ONE finals. They have swept Aster in the biggest stage of this tournament. Who would have thought that they would be able to do the swept. Aster is known to choke on this stage but I do not expect them to get swept so easily by OG. They have no answer to OG. They even steal Mars on the the draft but OG was still able to get a better draft against them.

Congratulations to OG, the ESL ONE Malaysia Champions.

Game starts in about 4 hours from now.

The game is on right now. Watching from Twitch.

This is the first match. And it seems OG is winning this one. Bzm's Queen of Pain has already reached Godlike. The gold of OG is already 20,000 bigger than Team Secret's. OG's hero kills almost double that of Team Secret's. This match is going to be OG's it seems. But, of course, a comeback win for Team Secret is still very possible, although quite hard at this point.

This early, I congratulate those who bet for OG in this match. We'll see.

OG won that match-up against FNATIC, 2-0.

They are now against Aster in the grand finals and they have a huge lead, 2-0 in a BO5 series. Another win and they will get the championship. Aster still has their curse of choking on the big stage. They have chances to turn around the game in Game 2, Monet even getting a rampage,  but OG was just too much for them. OG was able to secure game 2 to take a 2-0 lead. Aster should get their acts together and win game 3. They are being stubborn, still giving Mars to Ammar even though they know he is very strong using that hero.

We have come to the last day of ESL ONE MALAYSIA 2022

In the Lower Bracket Finals, OG will be facing off against Team Secret.

This is a rematch of their Upper Bracket Match. Team Secret won that match-up in a thrilling Game 3. But do not think that OG will easily give up this time around. They are on a roll since they were knock-off to Lower Bracket defeating Thunder Awaken and FNATIC. And I am sure, they are eager to take their revenge on Team Secret. The odds on this matchup, Team Secret 1.76 vs OG 1.99.

While waiting in the Grand Finals is Aster. Aster shows big in this tournament. They have shown how strong Chinese teams are in DOTA. But, Aster have on big weakness, the Big Stage. Often times, they fail to finish and others call it to choke in the matches where it matters the most. We will see if Aster finally got rid of their weak performance in the Big Stage and Finally get a Championship in ESL ONE Malaysia.

Game starts in about 4 hours from now.
1575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 27, 2022, 11:10:26 PM
We are getting to the end of ESL One and first game tomorrow is OG against Secret. This one just screams over 2.5 for me and I am placing a bet on that for sure. If I had to pick the winner though I would probably take OG.

Did not yet decide for the final, Aster looks really good but they are sort of chokers which was already mentioned. If OG gets to the final, think I will back them to win or at least take some map handicap.
Drafts seem to be playing a huge role on how the matches are going. OG would pick a more snowball and team fight oriented draft while Secret will try to pick counters. Definitely an interesting game for sure and the one that'll most likely go over 2.5 games but I'll just bet map to map depending on picks.

The team who gets a better draft has more chance of winning this match. Both Secret and OG have very good fundamentals of the game. They know when and when not to commit. So whoever gets out drafted might lose the game. Based on their previous match in the upper bracket, this match could go to game 3 as well. Both teams are very even in skill and talent. But I am betting on OG to get ML because how poorly Secret performed against Aster and OG came from 2 big wins against Thunder and FNATIC. OG Has the momentum right now. And I think they already have a good grasp of the current patch.
1576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 27, 2022, 09:58:56 AM
I agree with you that Kudos to TNT for always giving an intense game with the powerhouse SMB. But still, not until either of them gets a 4 win, the series is not finished yet. TNT should consider Game 4 as their Do-Or-Die game and feels the pressure to win.

It is a do-or-die for them. If they do not win the next game, they will be down 3-1, and against a very dominating team like SMB, they will not be able to come back from that disadvantage. They have very little chance to come back from that and I am sure, SMB will not allow that to happen. Fortunately, I think their head coach will be back in Game 4, so maybe there will be better adjustments to counter SMB.

Game fixing is possible to make this a long series, if TNT wins game 4, the lowest possible games will be in 6 games. I like to believe in game fixing as well, so I'm with you on the prediction that TNT will win. Pogoy, Castro, and Williams, these are the big 3 that should contribute big time if they want to extend the series, because if SMB will win game 4, then this series will be close to being over.

This is not sister companies' fighting each other so they may not want to extend the series. Each team might want to finish this series as fast as possible.

What a game between OG and Thunder Awaken.

Even when OG is dominating and has a huge gold lead, Thunder Awaken seems not to give up. Their perseverance, patience, and discipline enabled them to pick team fights and win despite their huge disadvantage. They even got the higher ground and push mid barracks against OG after a huge team fight. But one team rosh fight spelled disaster for Thunder. OG was able to secure the aegis with the well-timed and well-placed fissure by ES to block thunders from contesting the Rosh. After, that Ammar was able to kill TB with the help of aegis. Without aegis, they might not have been able to kill Terrorblade and they would have lost the team fight and the match.

OG is moving forward in the lower bracket. They will play against FNATIC later for the lower bracket semifinals.

Pretty unsure on what should I bet on as both my bets today was busted as I took over 2.5 maps for the lower bracket so here I thought that it would be better to take OG -1.5 against TP. SA teams are pretty much on a lower level compared to EU teams so I think this is a pretty reasonable bet as OG is quite the power house of this tournament
With the way they played yesterday, I am inclined to think that Thunder can go toe-to-toe against OG. I expect the match to go all the way to game 3. OG is the powerhouse but if TA playe as disciplined as they played yesterday, they can at least take a game from OG. I still expect for OG to go all the way to the Finals.

With Aster,. I am not betting on them. This is the stage of the tournament where they always fail to perform and choke. Besides, Secret is performing in top form. They dropped OG the other day, I expect them to perform the same intensity today.

Well , it looks like Thunder Awaken should really get a sponsor soon as this team and Pakazs are working perfectly together and they just beat Nigma by 2-0 and send them home but it was a decent run by Nigma as they showed some great dota here and there but I would have expect a lot more from them even if Miracle was missing.

Next game is Fnatic Vs Entity and I think Fnatic have a counter style vs Entity and I do expect them to win.
South American Dota always seem to show up on big stages generally. Nigma have been in decent form but Thunder Awaken absolutely smashed them in both games. There were some decent plays from Nigma to sort of bring it back but it seemed a bit too late. 2nd match, to me, it felt like Nigma had a better draft with ET there to counter Sven and QOP to happily kite Sven. Wasn't the case in the match though. Really well played by Thunder Awaken.

They played very discipline DOTA against Nigma. Sven played very well and he only goes if it is a sure kill, otherwise, he keeps on farming. Nigma on the other hand is very chaotic and depends very much on Chrono, which has a very long cd. Without Chrono, they cannot secure a kill. Dreamocel has few lapses and keeps on using Chrono even on just one man. I barely saw him make multiple-hero Chrono.

Honestly, teams there have already improved but they're not getting the love that the other teams from the popular regions get. TA will face OG by tomorrow.

I don't want to be confident that OG will take this match because TA might surprise us.

Although, what I really think is OG will proceed and will win this series and will face Fnatic afterwards. Well, the game hasn't even started but let's see and if TA will show how underrated they are.

If they play as disciplined as they did against Nigma, they may have a chance. Only OG is very different from Nigma.  And OG defeated them 2-0 in Arlington, just a few weeks ago. I am sure OG will be the one moving forward in this match.

Taking action in the lower bracket for today. I am rooting for thunder to win this match since Nigma is quite shaky since the new patch and they do not have a complete team. But I still believe this will go the distance.

Later, Entity will face FNATIC in another lower bracket match-up. Entity won earlier against TSM in short and decisive games. They can carry that momentum against FNATIC later. FNATIC without Raven is also shaky but expect to get a good performance between these two teams.
