David, i installed the new wallet why does my Balance show 0 bay?

Cos your wallet isn't sync'd yet ?

synced 100% says what now:)
Got your BAY in the QT wallet? Then just send them to the new address in the smart contract client.

yes problem is is have 2FA enabled so this won't work.. cant i just disabled it for 30sec let it authenticate and then re-enable?

@unusualfacts30 yes i had old wallet now the new but i have my google secured with 2FA
Sorry, but I don't understand what you are talking about. I really don't see the link with 2FA.

Sorry this was when registering a mail addres (with gmail).. now working on the transfer:)
to backup the wallet are the key 1 and key 2 also the backup? i want to store that

key1 and key2 ARE your wallet. Wallet.dat is not your wallet make sure you know that. You can put different passwords on key1 and key2 and you can even hide them in jpegs. Very secure and hackproof.

What does wallet.dat do? I just deleted it and my balance went 0. lol

I didnt say "delete it" either. It IS used. It holds a history of the multisig addresses in watchonly. Just hit the "rescan" button at the bottom and your coins will appear again.

I tried rescanning and it stayed zero. I restored it from recycle bin. I was curious to see if I need to back up that file with my key1 & key2 and it seems like I will have to back it up. Grin

You have to wait for the rescan it can take up to 30 minutes. Also make sure your keys are loaded when you do it. Open the wallet again so it imports the wallet. Since when you rescanned it may have not been actually imported so it wasnt in the watchonly list.

I see. You're right. I saw something that said "It'll take an hour to rescan". I just ignored it because it was still at 100% after few minutes and I thought it was done. Thanks! I'll try again tomorrow. I do need to create new wallet.dat.

I dont even think you need to make a new one do you? It should generate a new one automatically.

In addition to the response on wallet.dat. IF for example you import key1/key2 from one computer to load the wallet there, you will have to hit the rescan in that scenarion as well.

So what does "rescan do?"

It simply scans the blockchain for all of your inputs(money) and sees which ones it can spend. The only purpose for wallet.dat is to store that data.

So if you install on a new computer as well wallet.dat will be blank and if it synchronizes it did so not looking for the inputs. It needs to "watch" the blockchain.

Thus, I use a very little known version of blackcoind/bitcoind/bitbayd called "watchonly" which allows for the ability to see what is available for accounts that are not yours or multisignature accounts that you dont have both private keys for.

This also means you can have key1 on one computer/device and key2 on a second computer/device and perform sending in two steps.
Yet another way to make your account completely hack proof. Wink

When can we do a contract on a Mac ?

I can get a build for this and for Linux there were some differences between the OS and i need to switch out some libraries (like i notices "highlevelcrypto" doesnt seem to be Mac/Linux friendly or there is a bug in the library)

libeay32.dll works with my computer as well as others. Not sure why but the one found on google works on others.

In reality, its just a short cut to make you avoid downloading openssl.

You should actually download openssl and microsoft c++ redist 2008 on some machines.
1929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: December 11, 2014, 11:00:38 AM
Nice to see the question marks working now. Small beauty error:
Could you change the iFrame for the chat to show #bithalo,#bitbay?

Yeah i will give you guys a different chat room but i would have to update the client. For now, just use BitHalos.
1930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: December 11, 2014, 08:54:14 AM
Yeah i uploaded an update.
Ah thanks for the quick reply. Download link is on the OP I guess?

Yeah, and anyone who doesnt have their bitmessage address load, may want to install openssl or a different version of libeay32.dll. Although i noticed my version of libeay32 works with my computer and the newer one does not so it may depend on the computer.

Ok so with a lot of thinking, I realize that following the dev schedule and doing markets is the wisest choice because it is low hanging fruit. It doesnt make sense to shift gears. An earlier comment said that funds will circulate before the peg and even if the price goes lower, true investors will stay in the coin.

I'm still going to draft up what i need to peg, start to identify what parts of the c++ source need to be changed and so forth.

Regardless, the immediate goal of getting markets is the road map for the coin, it gives the coin more impact etc.

There was mixed community reactions to the drop in price and the comments were about 50/50 which makes me see its best to fulfill the immediate foreseeable goals.
1933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBay | Decentralized Marketplace | Unmoderated Thread on: December 10, 2014, 05:44:22 PM
altcoinuk

The community only wants me to do my job. And this thread definitely distracts from it. Im only going to try and help build the coin and help those who invested in turn. Speaking of which im going to have to get back to work.

Have a happy holidays and a fine new year.

Anyone up for testing smart contract via email?

Make sure your bitmhalo.exe is running and you aren't getting libeay32.dll error.

If it's running smoothly on your side we can test it by creating smart contract for tiny amount.

Thanks buddy a vid is coming shortly and a wallet update with a minor fix to the help menus that my obfuscator changed.

I'm going to take the obvious milestones which are low hanging fruit. The community here has had mixed opinions on pegging first so im just going to be speccing it out making some flow charts looking for a few superdevs continuing my search for trainees and keep my mind strong.

My days get insanely busy, I dont get days off and i work from morning til night. it doesnt benefit me all that much to post on forums either so you guys should help respond when you can fill gaps. I'm going to stay focused.

1935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: December 10, 2014, 12:56:19 PM
There is no investor protection without coin distribution. Right now the coins distribution is low. Pegging will destroy the market.

I think it's up for debate whether it's pegging or free market that's better for distribution. So far I've only seen volatility increase wallet inequality not lower it. Dogecoin being a prime example of that.

How can you create distribution with pegging? You are limiting the volume available to be moved from hand to hand. How can that create distribution?

You take away the advantage whales enjoy in the short term. Whales can manipulate and set walls. By limiting that volume you're freeing up that game for everyone.

A dump is meant to create wallet inequality followed by an increase in price. The richest wallets get richer during a dump. They're the ones scooping up coins during a firesale.

A pump is meant to create wallet equality in order to get out of a coin which is usually followed by a decrease in price. The more bagholders the merrier.

To limit the volume in both ways you're basically spoiling the game for short-traders. Whales can't get out of their own dumps as easily and they can't reap as many coins during their pumps.

Of course.

However I have decided to hit some obvious milestones. The pegging intiative I'm gonna start specing it out simultaneously and we will revisit this subject.

Not enough transparency. If things are left to the imagination you can't really blame people for using their...imagination.
That's true and for me David is certainly not to blame of being not transparent. No, for me it's the BitBay Team, that I only see moderating this thread and for the rest depending on their lead developer to do some PR. They should do the talking and just let the developers do their job, which is...well...developing.

Well I agree, but there's one problem with that whole thing, to me it looks like the Bay has a broken wallet situation.  Can't PR a situation that ain't getting fixed. The working wallet was supposed to be out by now, and meanwhile instead of dev work 24/7 to get that wallet fixed all i been seeing is dev spending half the day flaming the net the other half hooking up with his BC homies on some campaign to get him elected dev of the year. Halo shill accounts keep posting vote for david z and whatnot. So marketing is getting done, just not the right kind, and by the wrong people, at the wrong time, for the wrong outcome.

The wallet works just fine. There was a very minor bug with sending contracts directly to a bitbay address and it was instantly fixed. I'm pushing out another update to make the question mark buttons work in a moment. As for "Halo schill accounts" that is retarded i was in BC for a year. Go read the BC subreddit that was NOT my initiative nor is it my interest.

I'm not in charge of marketing. I dont "flame on the net", i was asked to post here which is personally a big waste of my time especially seeing comments like these. And im pretty sure i know where this comment comes from and who coached it.
1937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBay | Decentralized Marketplace | Unmoderated Thread on: December 10, 2014, 12:29:08 PM
What's also missing in the FAQ is Bitbay's monetisation. This is less interesting to the buyers right now but it would clear a lot of fud. The ICO is startup funds, but in the long term I take it that Bitbay plans to survive on the transaction fees for the majority.

Because of the nature of a decentralised exchange it can scale up infinitely without requiring extra funds. If they're on the receiving end of that then all the bickering about the ICO seems really trivial.

I'm only asking because if they make that goal clear then people can be more at ease. This isn't the market cap or the funds that are at stake, it's the prospect of having a venture that's worth billions and generating a revenue that would make the current funds look like a rounding error.

A million is a lot to most people here. But as you've said, it really quite common for start-ups of this calibre.
.

The guy who hired me believes in crypto big time. Hes like a big kid at a candy store. We both know how exciting tech is and i think the monetization is self evident. Pegging was my idea to make it attractive "as a business"...

#1. Have you worked with, currently work with, or had any association with BobSurplus while creating BitBay? Past or present. Answer clearly and to the point. Investors continue to look for you to answer this. Stop avoiding the simple answers. "Yes" or "No" will suffice. Please don't tell us "it's not an issue" or "Bob is such an irrelevant subject" - Clearly it is.

This investigation is really starting to look like a veiled Bobsurplus promotional campaign.

"Ooh! Spooky Bob! You don't want to cross him so pay him for his spooooky insider information"

Bob is a sociopath with no empathy for mankind and anything he has to say about inside info is useless. Hes somebody i recommend that anybody in his group leave immediately since his goal is to screw over anyone at any cost to make money(a point that has been overstated). (the fact that people pay to get into his group is laughable consider he can use the free money he gets to pump whatever he wants which is an old penny stock trick)

Its not even really my style to talk poorly of others but if it wasnt already self-evident.

Really a person not worth discussing. He will live a long life of greed a stealing until he is old and without any actual skill (just money) and he will be forced to look at himself in the mirror. Even if he lives a happy life due to the money that gave him a phony sense of security, it will be vacuous since it will have contained no real internal value.

Money cant buy you anything (looks, integrity, class, love, friends, skill)

Because the friends it gets you arent friends and if he wants to find that out real quick he just needs to take money from his friends and watch what happens(or wait until his friends steal from him). (im sure hes already experienced this and blamed those around him instead of realizing why his relationships are so not genuine)

Lying through your teeth is a skill though but an easy one.

Lying is the path of least resistance because you are free to say anything. I think that is why we live in such a fucked up world since liars live happy lives at the cost of others with the ease of being able to make up new lies to cover up old ones.

A real sad aspect of reality. This is why i will state, these are not topics conducive or constructive at all. But just a waste of time.

You want a happy life, dont entertain people like this, dont think about what deceivers do, just plow forward and be creative and innovate and with the best of luck your creativity will (hopefully) thrive.

My lament is how hard i try to make my creativity fit into an environment to thrive and crypto is a very brutal and greedy environment and it saddens me.
1939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBay | Decentralized Marketplace | Unmoderated Thread on: December 10, 2014, 12:10:58 PM
Deceiving and long winded answers again from Zimbeck. This is exactly why investors are dropping out and questioning you here. Many of whom I've already contacted personally.

Again, be clear and concise if you want to gain respect from the people who have believed in you.

#2. What exact amounts have you received for your "license" paid in both BTC and BAY? Written as actual figures (numbers).

Please David, stop trying to mislead us. We are the ones trying to understand the situation at hand and asking real questions. So far, the lack of solid responses are giving huge red flags. If your next reply does not appease me, I will have to use deeper researching tactics to unearth the truth for those who deserve it. Also, you claim to only the license the technology, but the coin FAQ clearly states that you are lead dev. What is it?

By the way, the coin FAQ was not made by me. As I stated before and will do so very clearly here. I changed the OP to project manager. They continue to misuse my name and Ive had not choice but to step in and lead development here to protect you all.

I'm not happy with the coin FAQ, they had me fill out parts about the tech only and im going to make that 100% clear.

What i can tell you is this and its important. The guy who hired me wants more than all the investors combined to have a successful project despite the absolute obstacles that are thrown in his way. He is way too kind a person and probably was not making the wisest of business calls. I'm doing everything in my power to help him as much as i can to make his project a success.

I believe it will be as long as there is a bit of patience.

There was several people on the project initially. Some are no longer with us. My concern goes out to the person who hired me and the people invested.

You know me buddy, im very protective of others. All of you included.
1940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBay | Decentralized Marketplace | Unmoderated Thread on: December 10, 2014, 11:54:39 AM
Im not misleading you. I'm entitled to my own personal life and privacy. If I demand to know your personal business, how much BTC you hold, what the addresses are, what addresses you live in your social security, a full audit of every aspect of your personal life, im pretty sure you would tell me to get bent.

I even posted personal addresses which is unheard of in crypto. I link to that below.

How big of a hypocrite do you have to be to hide behind a keyboard and a fake name with anonymous bitcoins and preach "freedom for the people" and "we deserve our privacy" if you cannot respect the privacy of others.

Ive not told a single lie anywhere here. I have simply chosen to honor the word to the person that hired me. And Ive clarified many times, Bob is a scumbag and he did not hire me. Im very aware of who he is and i think he is absolutely the worst kind of person and feel nothing but empathy for anyone who associates with him so naively.

The fact that I even respond here should tell you something that I'm not the one you should be pestering.

Have you tried contacting anyone from Bitbay? No of course not. You all attempt to talk to me because you know im kind and willing to talk to you(a quality of mine that is being abused considering the degree of namecalling and lack of sophistication). For me to even waste a second posting here is time not spending on my coding and responsibilities.

And protecting the privacy of another person is in fact honorable because it means i honor my word.

It is not my obligation neither in any way shape or form to discuss with you. Everyone knows im one of the most honest people in crypto. I dont hide behind a fake name, im totally transparent about my work, I even posted addresses earlier in this thread and discussed my fee. The link is below.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=880138.20

And it was discussed in more detail in this thread.

I already told you, you are barking up the wrong tree. I'm the one busting my ass protecting the investors and you dont even realize it.
