1963  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Doesn't MTGox deserve all those Bitcoins it supposedly stole? on: February 26, 2014, 10:31:22 PM
You think you are very intelligent and want to start thought provoking conversation, but actually you are a [insert expletive]. Discuss.
1964  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Source close to potential investors: 3 companies bidding on Gox on: February 26, 2014, 12:16:33 PM
If someone buys Mt.Gox and decides to make good on debts, assuming the rumours are true and they lost 750kBTC, how exactly are they going to get people their BTCs?
People say it's $400mil, try buying 750kBTC from somewhere without effecting the price!  It would surely rise greatly, maybe even to $1000 making increasing their $ debt towards $750mil!

I guess they would have to offer cash for BTC at the market rate or a % of that rate.
1965  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who bought the GOX_BTC for gamble? When and at what price, how much? on: February 25, 2014, 06:27:35 AM
I bought 1btc for 98€ yesterday. I haven't lost yet, even that dodgy looking document claims they hope to pay 50% back. 25% would be break even.
It seems similar to buying paper gold or silver, not something I really want to do, but lots do.
1966  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you really believe gox has lost 740,000 BTC and has only 2,000 left? on: February 25, 2014, 06:23:46 AM
I don't buy it, the presentation seems odd if it is internal, it is a bit simplistic.
If I have a meeting I don't expect a presentation to start with a simple overview of the company, that is for external presentations.
1967  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where is Gox Ceo now? (discussion with poll) on: February 24, 2014, 11:49:23 AM
Where is the discussion?  It's pretty pointless speculation too, he's probably working or at home after work, does that help?
1968  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: URGENT NEWS - MtGox has shut down! on: February 24, 2014, 08:16:27 AM
Looks like panic flood.
MtGox website working atm.

I can setup a website right now and claim I'm up and running.

Guys look at the signs, do not ignore them.

No office, twitter account deleted, no withdraw since 3 weeks but deposit accepted, lame excuses, CEO resigns from foundation.

What else do u want
People see a few internal transactions and the price goes up $200, then they remove some tweets and it goes down $200.
I will wait and see if they are finished or not. At the moment they claim they will restart withdrawls, so they aren't dead in the water unless there is some serious fraud going on.
1969  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: URGENT NEWS - MtGox has shut down! on: February 24, 2014, 07:50:53 AM
This is it people, mtgox just deleted all their social media accounts , and karples resigned from bitcoin foundation!

Mtgox has no more office, there is NO mtgox office I repeat. It is now a virtual office. Is it doesn't exist

Massive filesuit has also been filed against gox

It over ppl, bitcoin $300 tonight at bitstamp.

Check coindesk before accusing me
Read it and came back to accuse you of spreading FUD.  No where does it say Mt Gox has closed down, and obviously as the website is still there... it hasn't.

Coin X is faster confirms....than coin Y

NO IT IS NOT.

Confirms are only a measure of security

Well that put that to bed once and for all.
1972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is selling BTC for $100 on Gox and why? on: February 21, 2014, 08:55:56 AM
Its better than nothing! Cheesy
What is? Losing your cash or losing your BTC?  At least if they reopen withdrawls you will have BTC worth more.  It seems no win to sell on Gox now

1489 blocks mined when working link to a wallet was provided and the wallet managed to sync.
They obviously didn't know how to change the 1st block size so instead just premined normal blocks for hours to get to 5%.

website doesn't work either.
Reduce the premine please, you can claim 1% for advertising, 5% is taking the P
1975  Economy / Economics / Re: What should I buy? on: February 20, 2014, 02:54:35 PM
This isn't the altcoin forum, so I'll say Bitcoin.
PMs wouldn't be a bad choice either though.
1976  Economy / Speculation / Re: Official End of Mt Gox thread on: February 20, 2014, 01:46:46 PM
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if people buy bitcoins on Gox now at $100, they are actually buying bitcoins aren't they?
It is off blockchain so there is no way of knowing if Gox are naked shorting...
1977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][New][DestinyCoin][CPU mining][Caveat] on: February 20, 2014, 08:25:28 AM
algorithm:Scrypt

cpu mining?????
It sounds solid, you can mine with CPU, but you will have a slight (!) disadvantage compared to GPU miners..
I might get the CPUs turned onto Bitcoin mining, it is CPU minable you know!
