1961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sushiswap hacked on: April 09, 2023, 11:56:41 PM
But on the other hand my question is, how many dex hacks there needs to be until you would accept that current tech isn't even near for wide adoption? As we have all the responsibility of our money, even in cases of DEX hacks, how in the million years this tech would be adopted by anyone else then experimental libertarians?
Because they are not Decentralized Exchanges anyway. They are just bunches of copy-cat smart contract codes running on different centralized chains created to make money off noobs who have no idea what a decentralized exchange is.

A few years from now, no one will even think of using any of them. Remember Etherdelta?
Yup, i remember it. It was like a early prototype of this. I actually made ton of money using it. But man it was way more difficult.
I remember that buy and sell walls weren't working "cumulative" so you had to hand pick orders to buy from. And because people didn't get how it worked, some people sold too low and some bought too high. Yeah, i have to admit that was a good example of weird GUI. People don't seem to understand how weird all this is to newbs. It's way better then years ago but still confusing operation, not to mention they get hacked.
1962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 09, 2023, 10:27:51 AM
I think people don't understand that there is no strategy in gambling. Gamble but consider your spendings on it as an entertainment expense. Got luck on your side and won? Good. If you don't you still had fun.
Well one strategy that i just realized is that if i would gamble on wrestling (and i mean WWE as in show wrestling). I should bet the one with lowest odds and therefore highest multiplier.

And hold on you say, isn't that predetermined? That's the beauty of it. Technically that makes every match 50/50 to me, as i can't use my insight to predict anything. Then why in the world i would settle for lower multipliers? Obviously this would not guarantee anything but it would give me slight edge over the people playing low multiplies, assuming they don't have any insight either.

Only way to get real results in this is somehow to get inside Triple H's head who presumably decides who wins. But without that it would make sense to only bet on the one with lower odds.
1963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Sushiswap hacked on: April 09, 2023, 08:56:33 AM
You know we have already seen the bottom on altcoin bear market when Sushiswap gets hacked and no one even cares that they get exploited. Imho weak hands are out and from the technical side i think we can rise any time now.

Quote
Decentralized exchange SushiSwap has fallen victim to an exploit, which led to the loss of more than $3.3 million from at least one user, known as 0xSifu on Twitter.

The exploit involves an approve-related bug on the RouterProcessor2 contract — which PeckShield and SushiSwap Head Chef Jared Grey recommend revoking on all chains.

Yeah, i am not sure who is in charge of their product planning but that is more like "we will carry on". One would hope that they had more vision as they could potentially change the whole face of casino as we know it. For example tokens could be used for DAO, airdrops, free passes for events, not to mention they could just officially commit to burning. Now they could just stop at some point and we don't know when.
As already mentioned above, the Betfury team is already burning BFG tokens every month, and it seems that almost 33 percent of the total BFG emission has already been burned, but the problem is that this does not have any positive effect. Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the impression that the Betfury team just ran out of ideas, especially after they initiated a vote last year to extend BFG mining for 53 months.
Yes, everyone knows that, yet no one knows how long they are going to do that. They might stop to 50% like some projects or keep going indefinitely. What i would like to know why they are not answering to this. They are not committed to any number so they might just stop burning after 40% for all we know. They have never promised to keep going indefinitely, and at some point there are no team tokens to be burned.
1965  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: April 08, 2023, 04:12:06 PM
Cash reward as usual $17, how much did you get this time and did you get a very significant difference like 50% or more compared to what you used to get? As per my experience when I was still actively wagering, my pre monthly bonus was around $20-25 (cant really remember the exact number) but since I do not active wagering like what I used to do, the amount dropped to $15-17.
$15 to $17 is still a pretty amount of money to get as a bonus monthly, it indicates that you still have been wagering some really nice amount of money.
-cut-
For sure. Just out of interest, roughly much you need to gamble monthly to achieve that? I haven't touched that kind of bonuses as i am a tiny fish when it comes to gambling and i am mostly using slots anyway. From some point of view i am gambling a lot, even though i see it as quite little as i still won't get bonuses but then again i don't have anyone to compare myself to. I won't be gambling more just to get such bonuses but i am interested.

I personally think that right now it is more appropriate for us gamblers to think about betting on the nominees, rather than on the next president. What do you guys think?
Wait what do you mean by this? Shouldn't we bet for a winner to win ourselves? Or are you talking about betting the order on who gets most votes and who comes for second and third? I haven't seen an option for that but i would be very much interested on that. Or have i completely missed your point? Could you elaborate more.
1967  Economy / Economics / Re: If the dollar/fiat was worthless! on: April 08, 2023, 03:54:10 PM
What happens to the value of bitcoin if the dollar goes to 0? Will bitcoin also loose value because the dollar is worthless? yes, there would probably be other things to mind like world war, full panic, no internett and so on. But set these things aside. How much would a sack of potatoes cost, and with what could I buy these potatous witth(gold/bitcoin/chickens/etc.)?

Any ideas? and any ideas on how bitcoin could be independant of the dollar, or other fiat?

I see a lot of good ideas here.

The reason for this thread is to explore if there are some other ways to value bitcoin. Like many of you said, it would probably just hop over to the next largest currency. But do we want the bitcoin to allways be dependant on another currency and its inflatory politics? Many of you also said that the dollar will never go to 0 and there is no reason to worry about this. But every currency in the world is loosing value everyday. Therefore bitcoin is also loosing its value. it may be a stupid question, but would it not be better to have another way to value bitcoin so you could allways buy 1 sack of potatoes for 1 satoshi for exampel?
Price of the bitcoin would be least of your worries if dollar would hit zero. I am positive that internet money would have some value for some people, but just lack of liquidity and all the panic ensued because dollar dropped to zero would most likely wipe all interest and respect for experimental internet money. They were volatile before all the hell broke out so why would they survive absolutely apocalypse scenario? And this chaos wouldn't be inside united states only. Imagine that a world biggest superpower just lost all the power they had. The imbalance itself would cause wars when countries would try to fill it. It would be hell on earth and probably nuclear war. So i really wouldn't bet on bitcoin then.

1968  Economy / Economics / Re: Pranksters got Ch. Lagarde (ECB) to admit Digital Euro will be about tracking on: April 08, 2023, 03:36:44 PM

Christine Lagarde, the president of the European Central Bank, got pranked by pranksters posing as Ukraine's president V. Zelensky.
In the interview she gave, she admits that the Digital Euro will be all about tracking and control.

source tweet: https://twitter.com/KanekoaTheGreat/status/1644116706544189441

full video: https://rumble.com/v2ddlps-prank-with-the-president-of-the-european-central-bank-christine-lagarde.html
This is so dumb prank. You are being tracked now! You can just read about it if you google how FATF operates. Why do you think we have KYCs if not for control and tracking? AML needs tracking, FATF Travel rule needs tracking. Nothing new in this video is revealed. In fact CBDCs have most likely more privacy then current system. Governments can still track them even if they are ZK tech but it means that nothing but essential info will get revealed.

Nothing has yet been decided and there are more then one opinion in the world how this thing should be done

There are ton of research on privacy-preserving central bank digital currency. Check dusk network's approach for starters

Btw their future plans are really a mystery, as they have already fulfilled everything they wanted according to roadmap from whitepaper Cheesy There is nothing planned after 2022. The only goal that is not achieved is to get in top100 among cryptocurrencies. I think they should consider running an AMA one day, because number of questions to them grows every month.
The Betfury team announced its plans for the first quarter at the beginning of March. Based on the information in this article, it is clear that they only plan to improve existing features, add new games and make some partnerships throughout the year. As we can see, they have some plans for the future, but it's unlikely it will have any effect on the BFG price. So the top 100 is likely to remain a pipe dream.
Yeah, i am not sure who is in charge of their product planning but that is more like "we will carry on". 1970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metamask - new feature that detects scams on: April 07, 2023, 11:57:20 PM
unfortunately if it's just some warning like this many are still gonna gets scammed, trust me, some people gets scammed not because they are fool but because they are getting blinded by their greed, even if it seems risky and could cause them incur money loss, they will try it anyway because they are greedy.
metamask should just block wallet from interacting with the list of scam contract completely.
Well obviously. That's basically one of the features of crypto. Self custody. Not everyone can or should do it as some people are not going to be able to handle their finances. Claiming otherwise would be ableism. The fact is that some people will always need someone more or less to look after them and those people need extra security unless they want to get scammed. It's basically same argument that is in big vs small government.
1971  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 07, 2023, 10:32:46 PM
Hi friends, I have some questions for you guys about online casinos

What will you do if you don't know that a online casino will ask you for KYC after winning over 8,000$ on the platform?
You don't need to know this. You should assume they always do. Especially if you are winning fiat pegged money.

And you now manage to process with the verification and they failed to pass you? Can you consider such a casino a scam?
Well first i would be asking why exactly did your KYC fail according to them. There can be numerous reasons why KYCs fail. Anything from identity theft (by which i mean that someone else stole your identity), to the fact that you are citizen of a sancioned country, or that you can't prove source of your income.

Also, imagine you get attracted to an online casino because of the bonuses they offer and you open an account and make your first deposit then you didn't receive the promised bonus, is this an act of scam or not?
I am trying to solve such an issue for someone very close to me and that the complaint he gave, I have no answer than maybe the bonus was canceled already before he made the deposit or there was a minimum deposit requirement.
Any other reasons?
So which one is it? Did your friend fail KYC or didn't he/she follow the ToS of the bonus money. Sometimes those can be pretty complicated and even misleading. I am usually asking lots of questions about the details before trying to get bonuses.

1972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metamask - new feature that detects scams on: April 07, 2023, 10:23:36 PM
I mean i love metamask and people don't remember what hell it was to use early versions of MEW compared how smooth you can connect with metamask.

And that said, why it took them 5 years to implement something like this? I totally understande that we don't owe them anything, and i might seem like self entitled annoying user when i even ask this as i haven't done anything for them. But 5 years of scams is a long time to figure out what could be done. One would think that security of the non tech savvy users would be high on the priority list.
1973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am now a Bitcoin investor on: April 07, 2023, 09:40:18 PM
Congratz! Not you get hooked and buy more Smiley. I still remember buying my first. I am pretty sure there are same feelings still involved, but i remember checking my portfolio constantly few weeks and buying more.
After few days i realized that i was looking at the price too much, and constant excitement wasn't good for me. It caused me to lose sleep. After a while i learned to relax. So take my advice and learn to relax and don't stare the price.
1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coin to mine with pc on: April 07, 2023, 05:17:36 PM
Mining bitcoin with pc is now a waste of time even if one try joining a mining pool is still not profitable. So I will like to know which altcoin is better to mine with pc?
Answer to your question is: it changes from time to time and it depends what kind of gear you have. But mine only if you don't care about your graphics card or your processor. But as price of electricity has risen with everything else, you might be better of just buying the coins and to mine only if you want to support the chain. I wouldn't mine random coins just because they would be slightly profitable.

Short answer is: google is your friend: https://whattomine.com
1975  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: April 07, 2023, 04:45:42 PM
Oh, so you're from Finland? Of course, I don’t particularly delve into the ups and downs of the internal political struggle in your country, I’m simply not interested. From the outside, this whole story with joining NATO looks like Finland was thrown hard through the dick. Moreover, Sweden prudently moved off the topic, with the help of some ridiculous actions to burn the Koran. And Finland suddenly found itself at the forefront of the universal struggle for democracy and other pederastic values against the huge and terrible Russia, which immediately redeployed Topol-M mobile complexes to Vyborg. Well, good luck. Grin
What you don't get is that pravda propaganda is aimed against Russia, not us. And moving some rockets around is not any kind of significant tactical move especially against nato. They just want to be seen as doing something so they move some rockets and trucks. That's supposed to be signaling Russians as a show of some sort of strength. It's empty muscle flexing for anyone who understands Russian point of view. Meanwhile whole west is facepalming to this nonsense. They can't do anything about Finland joining NATO, they just wish they could.
1976  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: April 06, 2023, 11:18:28 PM
When NATO missiles appear on the territory of Finland, then they will start talking. For now, it's enough that the Finnish government lost the election and resigned.
You clearly have no idea what's going on. So what's your point and are you talking about? How would our elections would have anything to do with this? You really think that our government lead by "kokoomus" would have any different relations with russia then SDP and Sanna Marin? Fuck no. If anything "KOK" is going to be more nationalistic. So you have no idea what you are talking about.
1977  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: April 06, 2023, 04:28:09 PM
I think that today, now banking networks around the world already control all non-cash money transfers to such an extent, and competent regulatory authorities control even transfers of large amounts in cryptocurrency, that all talk and stories about money laundering are just fairy tales and fantasies for naive people.  For such people who think that the mafia boss brought a bus full of bundles of dollars right to the casino doors, and let's play and "launder" these dollars.  These are all fantasies from the 30s of the last century.  And the times when the mafia ruled everywhere.  Now it's not like that.
Cashless payments are so controlled that it is time to forget the tales of laundering some kind of criminal money and not fool people with this nonsense.
I totally disagree. Yeah, digital payments are somewhat controlled, but not in a level you seem to think. Banks are technically obligated to follow money trails etc, but most of them don't have resources to do that all the time. There are not transparent way between banks to see every transactions and most of them just rather trust the word of the customer when they ask where's the money coming from.

Money laundering still happens inside banks too today and they get caught all the time for that so not even binance or any casino is a exception to that. Regulators can't follow or control everything. That's one of the reasons cbdc is coming. To have more control over the confusing ledgers. And i am not saying casinos and exchanges would be laundering money willingly, but accidents in oversight happen and KYCs are a way to make money laundering more difficult. While not having any KYC and fiat money transactions would guarantee that people would laundering momney and avoid sanctions.
1978  Economy / Gambling / Re: PVP Games Lounge launching soon on: April 06, 2023, 04:13:53 PM
yep it's true this thread is actually helpful for new casinos or old casinos to consider game developments that should be added on a particular casino platform. so there's nothing wrong with us as gamblers discussing PVP games that interest everyone here and later casino owners will be here to read some of the recommendations to consider and add PVP games to their platform.
I myself want a PVP game that should be in my favorite casino which is a game that I think is good enough to play when I'm bored of betting on several games that I play every day.
hopefully my favorite casino also read some of the replies here to think something different to the others.
Problem i see with PVP games is that they are most likely skill based, and when we add inventives like money for the winners, the probablility of using hacks, bots or third party programs to help opponents rises exponentially. I have always wanted to play for example computer games for money among my friends, but that's because i trust my friends. However trolls and hackers use mods and hacks to cheat on online games all the time and they are not even doing it for money. So imagine how much those cheaters would rule every game when there would be money involved and an opportunity to cheat.
1979  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is indicted on: April 06, 2023, 04:00:26 PM
I find the problem is that many people treat politics the same as their favourite sports team.  All of a sudden, the only thing that matters is that their "side" is winning.  They're blinded to 'legal' or 'illegal', 'right' and 'wrong'.  Their team has to win.  Trump's supporters don't care about how many laws he broke and they are more inclined to accept the fanciful notion that this is all somehow an act of persecution.
Tribalism always happens, there's no way to avoid it. But that doesn't even matter as law is blind and doesn't care what the cheerleaders say about their team or if they think something is legal or illegal, as that's not for them to decide.
If the team leader (no matter which side) breaks the law, district attorney decides how to proceed, as he/she is the expert on that field. Their jobs depend on them being neutral and it's not like they would like to lose their jobs..
1980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another cross chain Hack on: April 06, 2023, 06:03:45 AM
I guess in the beginning when DEFI has hype, everyone wants to get on board on it and try to make money. But it seems it has been the target of most criminals as well, whether state sponsored or just individuals or groups who want to make money by exploiting it.

The thing though is that it's not big of a hack and Allbridge says that they are going to compensate those who lost their money in this hacked.

And for some strange reasons, the hackers are returning 1500 BNB, and remaining will be tag as white bounty compensation to the hackers.

You can follow them on their official twitter account, https://twitter.com/Allbridge_io
They were white/gray hat hackers. This is usually fastest way to get the attention of the teams about any security issues. It's a dangerous route however, as you can be flagged as criminal as well especially when you take a bug bounty without a concent. And for a smaller project even when they get their money back, just a fud and panic can kill a project after this.

With larger projects it's nearly impossible to kill them no matter how much you steal. Like in 2016 there was infamous Dao hack where 3,641,694 ETH were stolen (over $50 Million worth of ETH at the time). Eth nearly was killed but they just forked and survived.
