A big mean looking dog would keep away casual snoopers and petty burglars.  Actually anything much bigger then a healthy cat will keep most sane people away.  I'm not sure if that's an option for you, but a good dog is a wonderful crime deterrent.

Lol my negbors dogs are right next to my garage hard enough to sleep right now with thier barking
1982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: If BTC doesn't close this week above $3000 gpu mining is done on: September 17, 2017, 09:35:33 PM
GPU mining is about done in China. It won't be long before police starts shutting down big mines, and then difficulty will drop.

That would be a dream come true lol but i doubt it

Thinking of doing a wallmount version of this to bring in cool dust filtered air , it also has the option for an interal evap cooler as well

https://www.captiveaire.com/catalog/genpartCatalog.asp?catId=108

Why not just go direct to a "window-mount" type evap to start with?

Also, you don't need fans on BOTH intake and exhaust, the only thing that does is waste power to drop backpressure a LITTLE, it has almost no effect on airflow unless you have a VERY restricted airflow path (like the inside of a S9 miner).

Well in the winter here it gets quite cold so bringing in cool air has helped alot in my basement , I was thinking of the same concept for the garage, Maybe like phil said Ill just use the intake  fans and use gravity exhuasts vents up top, I really dont want to fiddle with the garage door much

Its kind of a secluded area so I dont want to give anyone an incentive to even think about taking a look at what I have going on.  Plus i have a huge power mast on the garage which already attracts alot of attention.

The intake would be only active when the weather is cool enough to take advantage of it.  I will probably take peoples advice and start with the rooftop exhaust.  Just need to find and installer and some soor of barridcade as suggested for the garage door.

Its metal , would probably be hard to kick in but there are no locks on it so I suspect it could be pried open and there is a small gap around a quarter inch from where it hits the ground , which i had to cover up with ductape to keep out dust and bugs, Ill find some time this week to upload some pictures.

1985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: September 17, 2017, 01:08:21 PM
I warned you trolls, you never listened to me hehe, right now profit per card is around $0.40 a day, mining 24 hours, soon will be $0.05 and we will get to a time where you will have to pay to mine hehe

But do not worry cause you can always trade your gpu's x fabricated coffins to rest in peace after you commit suicide hehe

dream on it wont never go to .05 per card are u crazy? mining across the board is all down due to the china fud
by end of oct nov coins will pump again and it will be back to at least 1.50 percard
1986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3 X Antminer L3+ on: September 17, 2017, 11:59:52 AM
I know... that's why I asked for some guidance, maybe I'm doing something wrong
lol theres no guidnace needed in regards to lower profits from when u orginally purchased the asic bro
hash rates go up price is down , your best bet is to mine and hold, I would mine ltc directly not btc on nicehash
it will pump up again in price when all this china fud is over
1987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3 X Antminer L3+ on: September 17, 2017, 11:29:28 AM
thats really alot lower that what it says on whatamine u got to factor in the fact that ltc is down near 80 percent since aug

that might be the cuase of your problem , but i have a rig on a single 1300 watt gold psu that the cards go to
8mhz frim 29.7 after connection lost , only after i did the blockchain drivers, I dont think your cause affects all cases
1989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: September 17, 2017, 03:24:27 AM
I live in a nice place though, no thieves....if there were thieves they wouldnt be able to get the garage door open nor go under it, its bolted...wont move Smiley  But I agree its kinda...weird looking.  suspicious.  Im actually out of work right now so Im pretty sure all my neighbors think im a drug lord or something since im always at home or walking my dog.  ironic cause I was joining the RCAF, but after passing all the tests and selection successfully, suddenly got fucked over some pressure in the eyes.  whatcanyoudo.  The roof exhaust is a great idea.  Its not that hard to do, but get a roofer he'll do a good job.  depending on how the wiring is, you could hire an electrician - it wouldnt be a long job, maybe an hour IMO.  If you dont care about the noise though, I think those things are loud.  8000cfm will be more than enough.

you have some great ideas man thanks, this fan is supposed to be quiet since its belt driven
they rate the sound level in sones whatever that means, this one is 17 or 18 sones I think.  Good idea on the roofer, I think I'll order the unit next week as long as the provide a curb for a non flat roof type.

bolting down the garage door is also a good Idea, my fear is they metal garage door is kinda thin, It would be realy loud but it could be kicked in if somone was derrmined, need to figure out what kinda of company to call to permannetly bolt down and reinforce the garage as well.

what kind of mesh did you install under the gap in the door and how many inches high above the ground are you ?

sorry about all the questionz

1991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: September 17, 2017, 01:11:55 AM
You guys are 100% correct.  and yes I have registered every single piece of gear I have Smiley  I have pretty much the same setup - 2nd breaker box with 2x30amp 240v, to two 30amp plugs, to two 30/24amp PDU's, which are about 20-22 amps used each.  My air circulation is actually pretty good unless its really hot outside.  My garage door is open (maybe 4 inches, its locked in place) with animal/bug screens everywhere.  I have a good fan pulling air (i need silent fans too) in from the bottom of the garage door (its covered with cardboard to cover more than the fans surface area).  A similar fan is as you can see placed in the window exhausting the hot air.  I have a work room next door, so when its hot I open that door, close the work rooms door to the rest of the house, and open another window.  In winter the whole house is heated with the rigs.  cost me 150$ of heating oil last year.  And I live in Quebec.

There is no way I could have so many rigs if i didnt have the air circulation I have, and EVEN THEN its a stretch.  I'll try to fix something up for the PSU's, I checked and yes one or two of them are quite hot, thanks.  I understand why you dont want to fill your house with rigs, its not really a good idea for the heat.

i WOULD LOVE to open my garage door a bit but it just invites thieves, my garage is detached behind my house so i have no visibility of what happens there.  Its ridiculous hot in there right now miners constanly going down and I cant add any more gear as was the plan
before until winter.  I wish i had the skills to install and Exhaust fan the roof mount blast type used in restaurants myself,  I might just have to give it my best shot.

Thinking of doing a wallmount version of this to bring in cool dust filtered air , it also has the option for an interal evap cooler as well

https://www.captiveaire.com/catalog/genpartCatalog.asp?catId=108

then this unit on the room of the garage 8000CFM at .20 SP

https://www.captiveaire.com/catalog/genpartCatalog.asp?catId=473

roof is not flat so not sure how this would work , probbaly need some sory of angled roof curb

Anyone have any experience installing units like these ? or links to videos , I know i'f have to get an electrician to hook the units up to power of course

1992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining profitability on: September 16, 2017, 05:56:00 AM
If you consider, GPU mining with lots of gpus, then consider having a platinium level power supply. Traditional ones with silver, bronze will not save you from spending on electricity costs.

I say that all the time but ppl here dont belive in buying good effecient equpment,

If your gear is paid off its better than break even right now as lomg as you have newer effecient cards
psu's and less that .20 cent power

L3 or D3
Which is having Better ROI
I am looking for ROI within few months.
Antminer s9 not that worthy now

If roi is so short people will just mine themselves.  Either you gotta pay up or find someone really looking to offload at really good prices.
L3 roi should be better since it seems there are less scrypt miner makers
1994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain has D3 and L3 in stock. on: September 15, 2017, 08:38:25 PM
why are D3 selling out and L3 still in stock ? the D3 is basically DOA
i grabbed 8 L3

they sold over 40,000 of D3 past few days, possibly more.  They added L3 back to stock a day later and it went out of stock a few times the past few days, they kept adding more back.
40,000?? Where did that number come from? Sounds pretty crazy. Many of these sales are from people expiring previous orders without paying. 40,000 is a LOT of servers.

People just pulling random info from the moon Been you know this forum haha. If we went based on people's guesses lately bitmain sold a million d3 and 10 million l3 and they will do negative 10 USD daily. Doom and gloom plus why would anyone post a thread stating a site had miners in stock when anyone who cares would check it regardless. The world is fucked up place.
um so you dont want ppl to imform others when there is stock up, youre the true definition of a hater gtfo

Phil... your alt-thread may soon need to change  Grin

GPU Bitcoin mining...... 8THs at 300watts?

Can I put 8 of these powered by a Delta 2400watts?

8 x 8 = 64THs in a rig???

Holy crap, 17,863 D3 in this batch.  I am starting to regret yesterdays buy now.  Funny how china exchanges go down, now all the sudden bitmain has plenty of stock.

Funny indeed...

LOL 17k D3 ?

it's already around 100k at the end of November 😁😁
if all quantities are real
the only hope for profibility is if bitmain sticks to trend and was mining with this hardware for six months before they sold it
