1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant-B on: January 16, 2018, 07:18:31 AM
Update:-

When started operations What to mine was showing 321 Est LBRY when day ended it was showing 288 LBRY
SuperNova gave me only 200 LBRY

It means supernova is not good for LBRY, i need to find any PROP pool those are better then PPLNs based pools, Coinemine is also PPLNs

Lets find PROP pool or these so called PPLNs pool are going to eat 30% of our earnings  Embarrassed
I thought pplns pays fees so its supposed to be better?

I have 20gh of gpus on supernova, its the bigest lbr pool
1385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 16, 2018, 12:29:22 AM

tell us how the burst works out i had 30tb in drives trying it out but gave up.

must be nice to be near maxed out , im only  at 20 percent cap

Heck no it's not nice lol. Means I need another spot because my electric panel is only 200A which sucks balls lol.

Why did you give up on it? I haven't even tried plotting or setting up anything yet just dove in and ordered a bunch of drives. Probably getting myself into more than I can chew, but figure why not. Gives me something to do

thier software was junk, after taking a week to plot 9tb i could never get it to mine
the ui would say its gpu or cpu mining but never showed up on the pool

maybe it’s better now , this was four or five months ago.  I still got a box of brand new 5gb drives laying around smh
1386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 15, 2018, 10:40:26 PM
Where are you buying new cards, guys?
I checked both newegg and microcenter.
At newegg, there are only crazy prices starting with $950-1000 for 1070 and there is literally nothing at Microcenter.

Hell, I checked 3 different Best Buys in the Tampa area yesterday and all I found was a single RX 560 (which I bought, though felt kind of stupid for doing so). Worse, though, is that there was an empty box for a GTX 1080 that said "Purchase at register" so I took the box to the register only to find out that, nope, they are out of stock.

Le sigh...

yeah my local micocenter has been bare for weeks,
pretty much standing pat, im not paying $600 for an rx 580 or $900 for a1070ti
which is why im selling my exces 8 gpu motherboards

this is so anoying, i passed on buying cards back in dec thinking they were too pricy smh

lol i hear you marvel - i didn't pass up, i was just procrastinating and then when i finally came around to it wasn't able to get as many as i could.

I'm pretty much at max capacity now though, might be able to add a couple here and there but I'll just call it a day and say I'm maxed out.

I have about 300 TB in HDDs coming so I'll try burst out for shits n giggles.

Yeah, Im with you on that!  When I got my 4 1070ti's a few weeks back, I could have gotten more (in the $480 range) but held off. Then when i noticed supply getting worse, i still could have gotten enough 570 8GB for close to retail to build a rig of those, but I didn't pull the trigger.  Also, could have had a few good Mobos and more PSUs for much cheaper than they are now. at least i got a 1KW EVGA G2 for $100 and a Rosewill 1500w Plat for $280, but yeah it is very frustrating to realize that you could have bought these things even 2-3 weeks ago and now they're gone or way to expensive.

But Im also down with NOT paying the 2-4x markups just to complete rigs. It's better to just build a partial rig and then complete it with more GPUs later when availability gets better.  That's what I am going to... at least with my 1070ti's.  Im now on the fence about my 3 Vega's.  I could probably sell them for close to or over $1k each in this market...and not sure i really wanna deal with the issues that come with them... so might be better to just bank that $3k and invest elsewhere, but not sure yet.
exactly, you can make more investing in other coins than mining with 3x markup cards , heck if i bought eth at 800 and held back in dec instead i would have doubled my $$ nearly

So I got those prebuilt cases with the 8 slot onda mobo.

The fans are 3400rpm delta fans, plenty of airflow to keep my 1070tis at 60 degrees, and 1080ti blowers at 65 degrees. However my Inno3d 1080tis, some of them positioned between the fans hit 80 degrees while some are 65.

Overall very happy with them. Almost converted my entire farm to these now. These are loud, not something you want in your home.

I got plenty of Biostar TB250 BTC, risers and ram if anyone wants to shoot me an offer.

any link to those cases ? I might grab one to play with
1390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 14, 2018, 12:17:40 AM
Believe it or not, the miner supply issue is continuing to worsen.  Not only are essentially all good mining cards gone (off retail market anyway), but now it is nearly impossible to find any mining mobo (that supports 6+ GPUs) and it's even carried over into the PSU market, where 1000-1300W PSUs typically used for mining are mostly gone.  This continues to baffle me, but I guess just goes to prove that the majority of the world still either doesn't know about or doesn't believe in the longevity of crypto. To me, this shortage seems worse than the one back in Q2'17.

The really crazy thing is not that 3rd parties are trying to price gouge (not completely against this actually, as everyone deserves a chance to make a legal buck) but it's the fact that there are a lot of people actually paying these 2x, 3x, even 4x retail prices for components.  Here are a few I have observed lately:

- 6-pack of rx 570 8gb sold on ebay for $3,400! That's close to $600/card lol, or 50% more than retail for a Vega-56 lol.
- Several USED Vega 56's selling on ebay for over $900!
- Many mining Mobo's with retail prices at or below $100 are going for over $300!

I actually ordered an Asus Prime Z270-a from Amazon for $150 but it's not in stock and no indication of when it will be in stock. I actually have another ASRock BTC board but was looking to build my next rig with an 1151 chip i got for half price. Plus, I like the the idea of easily being able to accomodate 7 GPUs with a relatively easy path to an 8th via the M2 slot.  So, end-state goal would be 7-8 1070ti/1080 with my 1500W Plat PSU. of course, I only currently have 4 70ti's but more have to come in stock eventually... don't they? ;-)

speaking off , I'm selling 5 of those ONDA 8 slot GPU boards that phill has for $280 each I ordered 50 a few weeks back so I might just sell them all lol
1391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1070 or Vega Frontier Edition? on: January 13, 2018, 11:50:12 PM
so got my frontier and added it to my 3 vega 56 board

Not sure what people are saying about them not playing well together tit works fine with the 56 cards with 64 bios

i still have this wierd issue

when the miner starts up hash rate (eth for now testing)

is 42-42 per card with the power play mod , then after 30 mins some cards drop to 40mhs and others to 37-38 where they are stuck

one card which i think is a lemon at cyrptonight or any alog drops to 33 after being at 43

I dont get it , since it starts after a while, temps are fine 70c at 35 fan speed

Either way I like the frontier cards , at $799 , I will switch them to cryptonight tomorow after i get my next eth block

and report back

--
Just bought another, looking at the prices of even 580s and 1070s - $600 and $800 respectively
the price of a vega FE 2000 h/s at 16GB for 800 to me is a no brainer.

That brings me to 5 Vegas.

If the price on other cards stays high , I'll just build a few FE cryptonight rigs.  payback on these cards is 4 months vs 6 months on other cards
eth mining at some point will be over anyways
1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia Titan X for ZEC on: January 13, 2018, 11:51:32 AM
1080Ti is still better than titanx in terms of cost. No need to buy that expensive card which have only 10-20% boost.

lol that was before

now a 1080ti costs more than a titan x from nivida store lol

heck even the titan V at 900 sols is starting to look attractive at 2500 lol

1394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1070 or Vega Frontier Edition? on: January 13, 2018, 12:50:25 AM
I want mine Monero and i read that VEGA FE has good hashes for Criptonight coins. How many hashes are you getting with Vega FE with Monero? Is it too loud? Heat too much? Because I live in Brazil and the climate here is hot. So maybe GTX 1070 is a better option because consume less power and is easier to cooldown?
just got my first vega fe, ill let youbknow lol
1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 12, 2018, 10:49:29 PM
A two-fer.

I doubt that the 1050 ti uses the full 75 watts when mining Cryptonight - the 750 ti certainly didn't, it used more like 30-40 watts out of IT'S 75 watt TDP.

Yes, good point. Unfortunately, the 1050 Ti doesn't seem to report power use figures like its bigger brethren (or, at least, my Zotac mini doesn't), so the only way to tell is by looking at the difference in wattage of the whole system when mining vs. not mining, and that tends to bounce around by 20W or so anyway.

Well, no thanks to you slackers I can now answer my own question from earlier - the board is, indeed, a diminutive 195mm x 374mm. Surprisingly small, really. The PCIe slots are spaced 50mm apart so cooling of big cards with "impingement cooling"* might be challenged, if not marginal; cards with blowers should fare better.

That is narrower than the Aoris 1080 ti - forget trying to use a "2.5" or "3 slot" card in that motherboard AT ALL except in the one "end" slot, or on an "every other slot" basis.

It's very close to, or is the same, as standard "every other slot" spacing on common motherboards - even standard 2-slot wide blower cards are going to be airflow challenged.

Yet another good point - I just checked the spacing of another mobo that has 2 GTX 1060 in it - and which need an external fan blowing on them to keep temps under 65C - and the spacing is 6cm... Well, one can always use a bigger fan, I suppose.

most open air builds have fans pulling air away from the gpus
1396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [WGR] | Wagerr | The Betting Blockchain | Bounties on: January 12, 2018, 10:16:38 PM
Great to finally see some price movement in Wager. Any idea when the platform will be up and running? I haven't been following the latest news regarding Wager. If the moment is right i'd like to buy some more.

Mainnet should be released on monday 15. January if everything goes as planned. So if you want to buy more, I would act quick. Of course I dont know it for sure, but it seems very likely to me that the price for WGR will rise fast after the mainnet is up and running. Will be so great to use the platform, cant wait for it!

I think the price will rather go down (a lot) Grin The mainnet launch on monday is already priced in and with all the technical issues in the past, I don't think everything will run smoothly.

i think it is priced in at $1, if things go bad monday we  will see a drop

Amazon has a pre-order for 1070ti at near retaul $499 and $429 for the minis , i grabbed six

just now , delivery feb 2 , cool thing is they dont bill till it ships, if they cancel on me no harm no foul

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B076S4RT1J/?ie=UTF8&condition=all&tag=nismain-20&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

this just came in stock on new egg too

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133727&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-VigLink-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=6163686&SID=jcb7uzh5ut011rh100053

just gota have links to those sites and refresh every few hours if you are in the market

no reason to be paying 700 to 800 for a 1070ti

now in regards to 580s and 570s good luck with that they dissapear stupid fast

How does the mini 1070TI compare to the 1080?  It looks like its similar?  The 1080 seems to hash most things twice as fast as the 1060, will the 1070TI mini be equivalent?  There's only so many rigs I can get away with being married so I'm trying to use faster cards if I can get them reasonably.

Edit: price went up already on the mini its 459 now.

I like the 1070ti since its a souped up version of the 1070 which is good on eth and great on everything else, the 1080 is good but bad on eth

the 1070ti is 10% faster than the 1070 for the same power and maybe 10% slower than the 1080 i hear but more flexible uses less power

1400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Card prices on: January 12, 2018, 12:29:48 AM
High card prices only signal high demand and has no other impact on mining. People are still grabbing cards through bots, etc. There's nothing I can see right now that would indicate mining's coming to a close. 1060 3GBs can still be found around $220 occasionally.

235 is the cheapest I see now and they are sold out almost immediately and limited 1 per customer.  This isn't high demand, its euphoria and like with the stock market and tulips, it usually doesn't end well.   Its not even possible to get a decent ROI with card prices now.
Prices eventually go down and mining profits sink down as well. Most smart miners won't pay that much for inflated GPU prices. I was previously considering purchasing a 1060/1070ti for mining but decided to hold off.

Most of this is directly fueled by the price of ETH hitting an ATH and mining becoming slightly more profitable across the board. A drop in price for a little bit and GPU prices will sink back down. I also feel like people forget that before ETH and other crypto pumped up GPU prices, 6+ month ROI was normal for most all miners. Whether or not that is reasonable now is your opinion.

yeah lol 6-8 month ROI was the norm , heck 1 year ROI somtimes during the downturns, if you dont over tax your cards they can last 5 years easy

personnaly i tend to push the shit out of my cards the first 2 waranty years to weed out the lemons , RMA those after warranty period is over then i go easy on them
