I will do the long review with undervolt in mind.

Great.  If it can get under 0.2w/gh I may still consider grabbing one.

Im still curious about the noise levels.

This might the fan it uses ?

Does anyone know if the Avalon products will work with Minera?

The sticks do as long as CG Or BFG has support they will  :L) . just up todate CG or BFG to the main miner or use the custom folder or get Avalon version of CGminer and import into minera,  sense that's what it says it's using, it should work.but you may not have some setting in minera you Polly will with there image and have to use a lot command line stuff in minera image .

Cool I have plenty of Pi's, do they come with software?  Do you have to DL an image?  Always had Antminers, 1st time with an Avalon.

one off zoomhash doesn't come with a pi but I'm  sure they will provide a link for the image which is usually free Smiley .

    CONTROLLER (NOT INCLUDED):

Raspberry Pi, Version B or B+ (RPi 2 is not yet supported)

Each RPi can control 50+ miners

(We can sell RPi kits for $75)
    COMMUNICATION INTERFACE:

    IIC/I2C
    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    0C to 35C, 10% to 80% relative humidity, non-condensing
    TRANSPORT / STORAGE ENVIRONMENT:

    -15C to 40C, 10% to 90% relative humidity
    DIMENSIONS:

    354mm x 130mm x 150mm
    WEIGHT:

    4.3kg
    PERFORMANCE VARIANCE:

± 5% variance possible on quoted performance statistics

That's what I was thinking, just wasn't sure.

Here you go the  A6  image for the controller . http://downloads.canaan-creative.com/

gonna be use able on a Openwrt router as well nice no pi will be needed in that case well see how that works out .

only reason why they say this RPi 2 is not yet supported there image is a old one and it won't support PI 2 but the way around that is update the image in a PI below 2 then pop it in a PI2, it should boot up unless there is no drivers at all for the PI 2 or they won't let you up date the image yet why i also asked if they won't all you need then is a way to down there program and then build it from it there . well see. That's how got the ZOOMhash image for Zeusminer working on my PI2 Smiley .
banana pi  and cubieboard i built it on a armbian image sense they gave us the https://github.com/  link to it with a way to build it Smiley .

kind why i was asking will it work on anything else besides PI i wiling to bet it will .

I have 2 on order at Zoomhash and I'm waiting for them to ship!  They are saying this week, but we have heard that before.

After my talks with them, it appears that immediate shipping is the only advantage of this hardware over the S7.  I would hope they ship immediately, otherwise, why would someone buy one of these?

one designer of the gear stated they can be undervolted.

so until this is proven one way or the other it makes it have a possible extra value.

and a rasp pi backup is under 50 bucks  which makes possible down time due to controller less likely then the s-7.

some good news is kilo17 's gear is enroute which means I will be getting one sent to me soon.

And I will do the long review with undervolt in mind.

will it need a rasp pi why not a banana pi or cubieboard which might run it better , if it has code on https://github.com/ you can  polly use this http://www.armbian.com/ with the code off https://github.com and run it that way , I'm guessing and use one these http://www.armbian.com/download/  just wondering .  i'm willign to bet it will work on a Rasp pi 2 , im very tamped to buy one but not going to .just sold all most all my miner got close 2100 for them all but IM gonna chill for now and learn and watch .
1987  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 6? Any owners out there? on: November 18, 2015, 06:05:31 PM
If i run two or three of these from home will I need a PDU? Or is a decent surge board enough?

What is your voltage?

If you are 220-240

A pdu will run 3 maybe 4 on 1 circuit.

If you are 110-120 volt 1 unit per circuit means no need for a pdu

Electricity is supplied throughout New Zealand at 230/240 volts (50 hertz), although most hotels and motels provide 110 volt AC sockets (rated at 20 watts) for electric razors only. For all other equipment, an adapter/converter is necessary, unless the item has a multi-voltage option.

I'll be at home so should I use a PDU? Can you point me towards some acceptable ones for a home miner please?

Or better yet tell me what I need to consider when powering my miners etc. At most I will have like three of these some day but start with one most likely!

not sure how it work there :

here is a few for 220 30 amp plugs ,I'm  guessing your rated at 30 amps ? . 50 hertz doesn't mean to much it maters some  , most stuff now a days runs at 50 to 60 hertz Smiley 110 220 etc . in this case you want to look at amps 30 40 50  and plugs to match . if want to use  40 amp or 50 amps you need a plug and wire to match. I'm told for the plug you can wire in a 30 amp plug on a 40 or 50 amp breaker but from what i was told it will only give you 30 amps of use . amps determines how much you can plug into that line.

I use one of these :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AP7841-APC-Metered-Rack-PDU-30A-200-208V-20-C13-4-C19-/121806576709?hash=item1c5c3cdc45:g:b4EAAOSwk5FUttA9

on this PDU.  I had 9 miners run in 24/7 with no issue the highest i pushed between both banks was 16 amps total for the whole PDU.

using this plug to plug into the wall Wink .

1989  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining taxes on: November 18, 2015, 07:48:07 AM
I am not sure where you are living at, but if it is in the USA, I would recommend paying taxes on your income for this anyhow.  It is only a matter of time before the USA starts catching up on the technology and when they do, they will come after all of us who earned money from BTC or any Cryptocurrency mining and did not claim taxes on it.  Unless you are a large mining company, your taxes will be very minimal, so might as well pay them and avoid any future issues.

he should report it. + he can make up to 3k year here and not pay any thing on it but still has to report it after that  taxes start kicking in and any bank will start reporting large amounts of cash 10 K or more to the IRS etc it's law . from XP, i know that .

Just because it bitcoins won't make it immune to taxes.
1990  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining taxes on: November 18, 2015, 07:40:34 AM
I don't claim anything.
Not worth it... unless you're mining half a Bitcoin a day, don't worry about it.
They're not worried about lil pissants... if you do mine more than that in a day, you're looking at more issues than just taxes.
If you do, you likely have a business and a chartered accountant.

it all depends on how ur farm is setup , im mining a good bit a day , but dont pay any taxes on it , i even get to write off the power bill for taxes

Can you explain more?  This seems far to good.   Writing off  the power bill on taxes but don't report earnings?

I would hate to get a audit like that.....

That's a real bad idea right off stuff but show no reason why, IRS will come after you in US .

I would hate to get a audit like that.....   Me to no way around that one .
1991  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining taxes on: November 18, 2015, 07:36:17 AM
I heard that the government is starting to take taxes from big miners.
At a company, if you invest/buy equipment you would buy it tax-free, however you will have to pay for the taxes of your income.
Do the big miners get their mining equipment tax-free? Because they still need to pay income taxes afterwards.
Or do they pay taxes for both?

That depends on were you buy the Gear over the  internet most of the stuff is still tax free on some sites like amazon you may have to pay taxes watch care fully at check out there .

but as it stands it still depends on the state and rules in the US . if you buy in state in any state in the US you pay sells tax unless your a re seller and have tax exempt papers .been there don't that with a IMGram micro account  used to have a net 30 day account with them, when i had a PC business. same rules apply with bitcoin miner gear etc .

for other country's  can't say.
1992  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 21.co bitcoin computer/miner on: November 18, 2015, 07:07:53 AM
Ist is possible to mine normal with this hardware to normal Mining Pool?
How much cost the device and what is the Main solution from the device?

to me at 400 bucks go buy a real miner, but that's me and some have said they can build one for around 99 US Smiley .

then again, I'm not a Developer so can't say for sure if that's even a good price for Developers gear .

one other thought  i can see maybe were it would be very useful once this goes live

which i hope is soon .!!!

I offer 1btc per unit. They on ebay with free shipping for that. Also, it take longer than 3 month ROI with free electricity and that if they produce .02btc per day X 4(weeks in month) X 3(Months)= 1.68btc in 3 month. Bitcoin have to go back to higher than $480+ to even get that ROI.

No they are not.. Stop BS-ing..

Most are going for over $450 all day over there.

I'm about to put one up for 390 on ebay have one there now on auction about to sell for 400 and sold 2 Sunday for 380 each as buyout , they pay shipping,

there is a few there now for 420 or  higher Smiley .or was just looked .

I haven't heard from PlanetCrypto for a while, hasn't been on for almost a month.. last public message was his poem on here..

I wonder if he had any luck with getting his IP for the bitcoin core going..

I was wondering the other day as well, he  hasn't been around.

I don't see how that is better then the S 7, even cost more !!!

I have bought a Few things from Zoomhash in the past they don't ripe you off . if they do, i guess I've just been lucky.

cya
I don't care about zoomhash but speaking of the avalon
s7: 0.2830j/gh efficiency
a6: 0.29j/gh nearly the same
s7: 0.3876$/gh
a6: 0.3972$/gh also nearly the same
im also assuming avalon would be much quieter

let us not forget there also is the zoomhash's profit in the equation. i wonder if we can still buy directly from canaan, then it will be much cheaper i guess
not to mention that it is impossible to have worst customer care than bitmain

Ive never had any issue buying from zoomhash actually had more issue with bitmain in the last few months then anyone , but not to say it won't happen, it more then likely will if i buy more and more from them .

if they allow for a 10-13 volt psu like this  https://www.trcelectronics.com/ecomm/pdf/rsp1500.pdf  which would run two on an undervolt and freq down clock

they have real value .  I am waiting for kilo17 to contact me today as his are due to him today.

I will get 2-3 from him and do a long down- clock under-volt review.

If you run them at 10 volts  using 450 watts and get 2000gh   they have a real value increase.  we are going to know soon enough. If I have to I will get one from zoomhash.

let us know : ). glad i asked !!!.

Is it still worth to mine with an Antminer S3? Is this not a waste of electricity?

depending on your electricity cost .

1999  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: antminer s3+ controller board on: November 16, 2015, 01:17:06 AM
Bitmain seems to be very selective for whom they sell. Some get spare-parts and pretty cheap, other-ones get response "we don't have parts anymore". I have tried to buy S3,C1 and S5 controllers and guess what I got? Nothing. That's why I made that adapter. Now I went a step further and made a whole controller which is my own design. It has also those two extra connectors which are missing from original controller design. I'm waiting pcb's from factory now.

at first they gave me really nice prices then one day i needed some thing they wanted to charge me out the but for it , so now I rely on people like you to make the stuff,I'm willing to test it even pay to help test it til the final product is released if i have to buy it then i will that how much they wanted to over charge me , which btw seems to work even better then the upgrade power board you get in the Kit, ty .

hi all, i think only within Malaysia buyer is acceptable, as outside Malaysia, the shipping charges is really high.
Im selling at RM ( Ringgit Malaysia ). It's about USD145/unit.

Im getting bulk order from China earlier this year

http://www.mms.net.my/bit/05.jpg

This;s the last batch before S5 is released.

I've already seen these pictures before.
Can you post a picture from S3++  with your username ?

Are you ready to ship only blades and controllers from 3 or 4 x  S3++ ?

Ive seen those Picture before to right here on the forums, i think it was in a S5 thread this past summer about the time some of these along with some of the S1 to S3 kits popped on ebay  that sold real cheap at first..
