Please tell me your favorite altcoins (next to SPR and BTC ofcourse) that you want to see listed in the spreadwallet rightaway.
If I had it my way, we wouldn't tap into my "favorite coins" necessarily. For instance I like Shadowcash, but I'm not sure strategically it's the best option. I would have you focus on more popular coins so as to tap into their communities. I'm not entirely sure which those may be... DASH? You are right, I will probably go with a mixture between popularity and (technical) exceptionality. E.g. I am adding LTC / DOGE because of the AUX-POW relationship (merge-mining) they have, which is highly interesting to dissect and visualize (which LTC blocks have provided POW for which DOGE blocks, etc...) (Still, my offer still stands, if one of my patrons wants a specific altcoin listed, just tell me about it.) |

People will then have the possibility to add their own coins if they have specific ("complete") knowledge about its "internals". But right now I need to give any altcoin the proper screening/dissection to be able to make it run within the spreadwallet. It's literally like biological taxonomy.  LMAO, I love how all the ICO-defenders suddenly pop up, just because someone dares to play the game by different rules. I'm enjoying this.  The real peoples backing is very limited here to find a few who would be willing to join in with ur patronage. In the final end, none other but u will be sending donations to preview ur own commits.  Haha. Better do what XBC has done. Coins in dev possession should be translated to an exchange and sold out as regular ICO proceeds from which should then be pooled together to fund developments. That such a tiny community like that of spreadcoin still manages to bring in the kind of support that I've seen is very promising and disproves everything you said. Imagine what will happen once I branch out a little bit and connect with other altcoin communities? After all, the spreadwallet IS a multicoin project. The spreadminer will be a multicoin project. And servicenodes will have multicoin-ability at their core. Who do you think will fund spreadwallet's support for monero or ethereum? We here? Think again! Even failed ICOs are bringing in more than $100,000 which is far, far more than you will likely get through patronage.
That's what I don't understand about ICOs, lol. How can something that has failed still bring in money? Sounds horribly anti-capitalistic to me. I don't wanna have any part in this.

Thanks for the video Georgem, those visuals are quite cool! Can't wait to see it all running on my computer. Then you will like the "patreon"-style funding idea that I'm currently drafting. (I'm still figuring it out, will talk about it later) I want to involve people like you (who have contributed substantial donations) more directly/deeply in the further development. I just wrote bittrex yet another email, with a link to the new video. Not sure if they just didn't have time yet to react, or not interested in general. Let's see. Anyway, I would like to invite you guys to write them an email too! I do have a small video ready (without commentary), demonstrating one aspect of the upcoming spreadwallet. What happens in the video: The spreadwallet will connect with 5 altcoins simultaneously (SPR, BTC, LTC, PPC and EMC) through "SPV connections". (TCPSockets that connect with full nodes of these coins and ask for headers through the getheaders message) As the blocks are downloaded and become available within the wallet I visualize them in real time. Hmm, well they did say that if they saw there was any evidence of self trading to meet the volume requirement that they would delist it without warning. So I'm not sure that playing around with it is a great idea, unless you're actually buying or selling. They can probably monitor user balances and see the flow of money in each direction to determine if a user is buying their own coins. I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment, so I won't be able to help out for a few days... unless I sell, which, well, I don't want to do lol.
Ok, Never mind. I assumed that since they take a fee of 0.25% with every trade that they would be OK with self-trading. (it's basically free money for them) But apparently they aren't. What bothers me, isn't that an attack vector in itself? What if some dude (e.g. the ISIS asshole) start self-trading SPR/BTC like crazy for the next 4 days.... ? And then they delist us because of that? lol Anyway, update video coming in a few hours. Stay tuned. |
