201  Economy / Service Discussion / dont hate my title ok? on: August 07, 2020, 07:22:47 PM
Okay why is everyone hating on my title Sad I GENUINELY SEARCHED FOR A LONG TIME and decided to come here and ask for help :/. Titles are usually very boring so decided to spice it up  Cheesy

You should be ashamed for that clickbait title LOL

So in return you're gonna get advice you didn't ask for. Don't bother with Bitcoin cards. The ideal card is a unicorn, if you find one without KYC it's gonna be some sketchy overseas entity with fees up the wazoo and you're gonna have to trust them with your bitcoins etc. Bite the bullet, do KYC with a solid local fiat exchange, exchange some bitcoins when you need to, transfer fiat to your bank, use a regular debit card. Simple, works, free (sans a small exchange fee).

Source: frustrating hours I spent trying to do something similar to what you're looking for (minus PayPal).
I am probably just gonna do this, convert btc to fiat and then use my card for paypal. But thank you for the advice, found it a little useful and gave me a bit of a reality check.

Also, are there any good localbitcoin alternatives? I am very unsure about localcryptos, and I have never used any of my local exchanges.

Trade Bitcoin peer to peer for OneVanilla or other Vanilla cards or debit cards that are $500 or less and not refillable.  (these cards require no registration or KYC... you can find them all over America, Canada, Europe and Australia.)

All you need are the #'s to check the balance and spend the balance on https://onevanilla.com/ or vanillagift.com.  There are lots of escrow systems you can use, however, these cards do have a slight chance of being able to be charged back and escrow won't protect you from that.

You're better off getting a real payment processor like FirstData rather than use Paypal.
What if I don't live in US, Canada, Europe or Australia? I still haven't looked fully into it,so let me do that first.

And the only reason, THE Sole reason i have to use *vomits in disgust* pay-ew-pal, is because I want to make a purchase from a vendor that accepts paypal Sad.

Thanks to everyone who replied and offered advice(AND HATED MY TITLE  Angry), it was really helpful.
202  Economy / Service Discussion / please help me {cry of help} on: August 06, 2020, 11:55:04 PM
So here's what i want to do:

- I want to spend bitcoin and get a virtual credit/debit card.

- and I want to use the virtual credit/debit card for paypal transactions.

Now here's what I don't want:

- Any sort of kyc verifications, and i want the transaction to be somewhat quick.

Now is this possible, or is there a service that helps me with it?

Or any easier ways to directly convert btc to paypal? And no, i don't want to trade with people on this forum(at least when paypal is concerned).
203  Other / Meta / Re: Is this considered a death threat? on: August 04, 2020, 09:39:10 PM
I don't know if this should be considered as a serious death threat, it seems more like shit talking because of dislike towards the other person. So don't take it too seriously, unless he goes on ahead and tells you "I am gonna kill you" or something that actually implies a serious death threat. This given very little context, feels more like a person being butthurt and saying : "why u posting in my thread, oh no guy with trust rating gonna give me neg trust, i am gonna swear goats at u fuck u fuck ur mom fuck dick u big gay".

And if you don't like interacting with this user, ignore and move on. Some trolls aren't worth the sweat.
204  Other / Meta / Re: Help me understand on: August 04, 2020, 09:20:05 PM
First case, is that i remember seeing an image of a mobile near to some replies. Iunderstood this as a sign that the user is using his mobile to create the reply, but when i use my mobile, i don't see that icone near to my post.
Do you a picture of what it looks like? So you can post it here? I have never seen or heard about this up until before. And also explain a little bit more, do you see the icon when browsing on a pc or phone? Also, which browser do you use, it may have something to do with the browser perhaps?
205  Other / Meta / Re: Clarification of a rule, Can we get a managers board on: July 26, 2020, 04:48:21 PM
No, we should not give campaign managers a place to receive prominent advertising space via the creation of a child board just for signature campaign managers.

The campaign management business is reliant on reputation, and if you maintain a strong reputation, you will naturally receive clients. If you have less than pristine ethics, such as a willingness to advertise for companies you know to be scammy, you will receive few if any clients. In any case, you are free to advertise your services via paid signatures, forum banner ads, or otherwise.

A general rule is that there should be multiple pages worth of threads last posted in a single day for there to be a need for a separate board, and campaign management threads are nowhere close to this threshold.
In an ideal world what youd saying would work, but there are people who'd hoe themselves and get any project on board, and manage a campaign for it. Basic human stuff, yada yada yada.

I don't think managers should be banned for sending a PM for prospective business opportunities(referring to Hhampuz's ban), and I agree with The Pharmacist that the rules should be revised. And besides, the rules aren't rock solid here, and its literally unofficial so, changes can be good.

Also, as for the board, I don't mind it, gives a better outlook on managers, especially considering campaigns on this forums are very rare as compared to before, ergo, a lot of good discussion has also gone down because of it(not all, but some). There are quite a few users who only interact when they get paid and if not they dont bother. And that's the tea ☕.
206  Other / Meta / Re: Face-Off v0.1 - The Original Game for Bitcointalk Members on: July 24, 2020, 09:15:19 AM
hELLO WHAT

I am seeing this for the first time and HECK I LOVE THE SITE??? The design is sooo coool.

AND I LOVE MY CARD:

LOOK AT IT OMG. So cool, its like someone made a pokemon card for me 🥺 Cry. THank you Sad(

xhomerx10 you may have defeated me this time, but not for long. Angry

Suggestions:

- If you can put the user's btt avatar as the boxer's tshirt(design it in such way?) and boxing gloves for one person in blue color, and opponent to have red color.

- Have more rounds maybe? Tongue Comparing post counts, activity count etc as additional rounds. Or like comparing who makes more post in a particular board. Who's more dramatic(more frequent poster in reputation section) and whos a shitposter(frequent poster in altcoin boards Tongue).
207  Other / Meta / Re: Serious discussion and Ivory Tower on: July 23, 2020, 09:54:42 PM
BPIP says this forum has 93,736 active users.   That number was closer to 400,000 when I started the site.
Wow, that's quite a drop.  I wonder what caused that--are there fewer campaigns/bounties now compared to when you started BPIP?  I tend to think that's the main reason why members are active here.
I can't speak for bounties but campaigns have definitely dried off. I wanna say sig camps hit their peak in between May 2017-March 2019. And is it just me, or have the interactions on this forum started to significantly decrease? Or have I just gotten too busy to look at threads with *actual* conversations.

Ivory Tower and Serious Discussion have had some good threads I've posted in, but I found a lot of the topics I wasn't interested in or were above my head in terms of technical knowledge, which is the same reason I don't post in the Development & Technical Discussion section (or Mining or Gambling sections for that matter).  I put all of those on ignore, but perhaps I might un-ignore SD and IT just to see if there's anything interesting there these days.
I agree with this, fully. I somewhat feel overwhelmed by the posts there and in the technical boards, and often decide to not get into such threads. I just lurk around in the shadows and come back to meta :/

Would love for my pea-brain to learn things so I can come to those boards, and have nice conversations :/. Alas.

209  Other / Meta / Re: [Quiz] Bitcointalk history of hacks on: July 17, 2020, 11:20:46 PM
Woohoo, got me a 6/10 without cheating. Wow, the forum has gone through a lot of hacks, innit? Its crazy to see how far along things have come.

And gosh damn I love quizzes and this time i got to finish it, yip. Thanks, op.
210  Other / Meta / Re: DNS issues.. on: July 17, 2020, 11:05:32 PM
Almost all sites are/were down. Twitter is still up, youtube works too. Best part is, all the sites that tell you which sites are down, are down.

Anywhow apparently, there was no attack, it was just a router error.

All in all, don't worry the internet isn't dying.
211  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: July 17, 2020, 06:47:26 PM
Can you update the Trust images in the OP? Just add "https" instead of "http" and it should work again Smiley
Oh dang, I didn't even notice this. Anyhow I changed the links. Thanks Loyce!

Also added coolcryptovator to the list, give him a nice welcome.  Smiley
212  Other / Meta / Re: Am I the oldest member here? on: July 14, 2020, 03:55:41 PM
I am shooketh, I had zero idea that you're seventy-fucking-eight years old. happy belated bday bitcointalk's grandpa.

Well don't forget that I am a Gemini, so if you split my age between both personalities, then I'm only 39. Smiley
Is this you partying with your personalities at 4 AM?

213  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: July 10, 2020, 09:12:56 PM
Wow its been soo long since I replied to this thread that I got a warning when I tried to reply gawd damn.

I blame my procrastinating ass :/

ANYHOW, since I am somewhat back, any new managers in town for me to review? (other than coolcrytpovator, I will add him as soon as I get my lazy self to write his description and stuff.)
214  Economy / Reputation / Re: Alt of game-protect? on: July 10, 2020, 09:08:10 PM
Okay I have missed out on way too much but can someone please point out why/how Game-Protect was banned?

Is the forum starting to ban users like game-protect or am I completely wrong/mistaken and have no clue on whats happening(which happens a lot Smiley ).
215  Other / Meta / Re: Paraphrasing/synonymize, is it ok? on: July 10, 2020, 04:10:41 PM
I mean, I wouldn't perma-ban this person, only because the person put a little effort in changing words etc.

But I suppose, considering the user is relatively new, the mods could delete his synonymized posts, ban him for a day or two, and give a one-off warning regarding such posting and giving them the benefit of the doubt. My take on this might be considered to be quite controversial, but I still want to believe the good in people so.  Undecided
216  Other / Meta / Re: Quiz: History on Bitcointalk on: July 03, 2020, 04:26:11 PM
I can't answer any question, i have this message popping up
Quote
This quiz has run out of free responses
I guess it is related to the restrictions imposed on free version?
I will try it later i guess
Same, I got that error as well :/

I really want to do this quiz, I have become quite inactive recently and want to refresh my memory(i guess?), AND also cause quizes are fun.

thanks OP, very cool.
217  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Kindly asking the community to help us test the Evorese.com on: June 25, 2020, 09:37:13 PM
The website feels very iffy and definitely gives not-so-good vibes. Their terms, are even worse. I, for one won't trust the site for numerous reasons. The whole exchange is centralized, to a major extent. Why would I use this exchange when there are comparatively better ones and also have a somewhat good history?

you are anonymous, right? Do you want to ask people to do KYC?
Apparently not, they are based off of Romania according to their site.

218  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New stupid/greedy move from Brave Browser on: June 18, 2020, 03:33:47 PM
What the shit?! ew. I am not surprised but I am not happy about it either. First Kyc, now this, great. Soon before you know it, brave is going to end up being the bittrex of browsers. And we'll kinda be forced to go back to firefox/chrome(visible disgust) and maybe even edge.

fuck this shit im out.
219  Economy / Economics / Re: US economy wouldn't be shut down again despite the rising case count on: June 12, 2020, 11:55:16 PM
The dismal economic outlook from the US Federal Reserve and the state of the million coronaviruses in the US still make the economic outlook largely uncertain.
All of these variables led to US stocks falling at the close, as all three indicators recorded their worst performance since March 16

The Dow (INDU) closed 1,862 points, or 6.9%, lower. The index fell back below 26,000 points for the first time since the start of the month.
The S&P 500 (SPX) ended down 5.9%, closing at its lowest total points since late May. Only one S&P stock, grocery chain Kroger (KR), closed in positive territory.
The Nasdaq Composite (COMP), which hit all-time highs on the first three days of the week, closed 5.3% lower.

"We cannot close the economy again. I think we have learned that if you shut down the economy, it will do more damage, not just economic damage, but there are other regions," according to CNBC Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin.

What are your expectations for the third and last quarter of this year?

Source ---> https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/11/investing/global-stocks-coronavirus-fed/index.html
Well, considering the US unemployment rates also reduced in the US last month, shutting down economy won't do any good. Also because, even if they do shut down, people will still protest/go out and not listen to their government. Classic 'Murica.

As for my expectations for Q3 and Q4, i want to say its going to be comparatively better than Q1 and Q2, for sure. But it could be a total miss, given everything happening in the US right now. If the protests don't end, or if another catastrophe is to strike, I am afraid that things won't be as good as we want them to be.
220  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help: A list of LocalBitcoin alternatives (P2P marketplaces) on: June 12, 2020, 11:09:28 PM
Frick, I almost forgot about updating the table, although I will have to start from scratch I will do my best to finish the table in the coming week or so, I am still very much occupied with my IRL stuff unfortunately. Sad
