2 of 3. Not bad.  I don't really know why they only gave -7.5 for the Las Vegas Aces but that is definitely a steal. They blew out the Dallas Wings without any problem and I hit my bet. I still cannot find the strength to bet for the Washington Mystics again without EDD. I am waiting for her return and that's when I will bet for them again. Luckily, I didn't because they lost against the Phoenix Mercury. They had a balance of stats which is amazing. If in case a rematch between them will happen in the octagon, it will surely be a regret that will put a huge embarrassment to his name and to his little branding. What can I say? Of course, this is a learning experience for the Gilas Pilipinas. Kai and JC, I think, will only play in the Philippines during the actual game, right? Anyway, I think the current Gilas lineup is still competitive, but we still want to see them win, as the team has been criticized a lot every time they lose.
I think Clarkson will only play in the Philippines during the event, but I hope Kai will be able to play with Gilas before that. Now that he is in NBA, he will surely improve his coaching skills. Give him a few years in NBA and he will be able to give Gilas the good lessons that he learned in NBA. This will improve the players here in the Philippines if he can give the quality coaching that NBA receives. I am not expecting him to be a head coach, but it is not bad to dream. If he works hard and the team sees his dedication, he might get there someday. It will surely take a lot of years, but it is not impossible. Not sure if he's still planning to go back to the Philippines but I hope we can still get a chance to have him even as a guest coach since he already migrated to the US if I'm not mistaken. He's living a good life already with a lot of potential having that coaching experience with a great team in NBA, we should be more proud of him as he continue to make name for himself. He's getting closer now to becoming a head coach and I'm sure that's the goal for him.
If he becomes a successful coach there, he might not return to the Philippines to become a coach. But I think he will be open to coaching the National Team because it will not be taking all his time away from his job. He has spent a lot of time here in the Philippines so I am sure he will be willing to share his knowledge with his friends here. |

Only about 2 more months until the NBA is back upon us. I don’t think there’s much room for surprise this year. The Denver Nuggets have been the young team on the come up for a while and I think they’re still the team to beat. I think Phoenix is the team that has a lot to prove. With their roster everyone should be expecting a championship.
As long as the Denver Nuggets stay healthy, they remain the top contender this year. The Phoenix lineup has too much firepower but no defense. It will be very interesting to watch them play but I do not think they will be able to win the championship this year unless they will be able to fill up their roster with defensive role players to complement their stars this year. That will be the biggest challenge for the GM this year. They still have plenty of time to get the players they need. It's a new environment for CP3, and a good chance for him to finally win a championship as the Warriors are not new to that big stage. With the Warriors' experience and composure in the playoffs, they are likely going to win the season to come.
It is still very hard to say that they will win the upcoming season. Competition is very hard, especially in the West. CP3 is a big help to the Warriors but it is not a guarantee that they will win. I also want to see CP3 win a chip, but it is very hard for him to win. [....]
In the case of Ben thought it was different, he suffered it when everything went sour, with the Sixers and himself because Ben was a different player in that season. He doesn't want to shoot and then perhaps there is already tension between him the coach and the players themselves.
As compare to Rubio, he was injured that season, so he never see some playing time. Perhaps he just wanted to gave away from the limelight of FIBA as he started very young then and chooses to stay and perhaps focus on his comeback in the NBA.
I agree that the two are different cases. Ben's situation is probably closer to what happened with Markelle Fultz. Remember him? The former no. 1 pick that also became a laughing stock due to his poor shooting and that awkward free throw release. Both suffered the "yips" but Fultz seems to have overcome that unlike Simmons. Markell Fultz actually falls from the limelight. That might have helped him because he can focus on improving his shooting and not getting bashed a lot. Ben Simmons stayed in the limelight and got continuously bashed if he did not perform well or shot well. It is just a waste that Simmons turned this way. He was performing really well in the Sixers in his first year until his shooting weakness was exposed. |

It is clear that Tottenham do not want to let Kane go, for them it will be a significant loss. I think its not only about money that Neymar thinks about a career that has to reach to the top in a competition like UCL. I wont compare Mbappe with Neymar but its really very different in terms of performance because Neymar after suffering an injury his performance dropped and he could not perform as strong as he used to and maybe if he did not get injured maybe after Mbappe left PSG and moved to Bayern Munich, of course Neymar ready to replace his position and his salary will rise.
this is about loyalty to the team with the goal of achieving that must be obtained.
Im also still unsure whether Mbappe wants to join one of the teams in the Bundesliga because Mbappe himself needs a team that can take him to the UCL final and IMO, not Bayern Munich. but lets see where Mbappe will decide because we here dont know for sure where he will go because there is no confirmation from Mbappe.
well we can not compare Kylian Mbappe with Neymar and surely comparing other players they got different mindset and how they can handle a problem, even though both are great players Neymar didn't handle his situation very well that have ended up in his downward career, and even though many wants to help him his confidence just drop drastically when he acquired that injury for sure Kylian Mbappe has a stronger mindset in recovering than Neymar, just like Sébastien Haller after that operation he seems still confident and motivated he even show for practice in his recovering stage, |

He doesn't always play for the Philippines though at this time, he chose to represent the country. He's a Filipino-American, so he always has the choice to represent the Philippines in international games if he likes to. Lots of good players in the Philippine team right now, though hopefully they climb up the ladder and managed to get some good games. Spain is really terrifying so far that even Team USA cannot edge against them in terms of points.
Yes! back then Jordan Clarkson was not in the Philippine roster yet, well right now he has a go signal in playing for the Philippine team, that is why but well it is OK than never, for me Clarkson has a Filipino heart and his love for his grandmother was the one that has given him motivation in playing with the Philippines, Please let's not make this a PBA thread again. Unpopular opinion but the hosts won't have any chance anyway, sorry. Even with an easy looking group with Italy, Angola and the Dominican republic, the Philippines will have a hard time. No Jordan Clarkson or forever prospect Kai Sotto will change that. If the world cup would be somewhere else, most likely only Japan would have qualified. I'm not a fan of having many host countries ( even if it's just 2 ) because that takes the spot from more deserving teams to participate. Anyway, it just 2,5 more week for the cup to finally start. Plenty of test matches until then. The only prediction that failed was Dustin Jacoby vs Kennedy Nzechukwu. A lot of us favor Kennedy when in fact Jacoby better KO punch. Tatiana Suarez for submission is no surprise and won. Not sure also why a lot of people who pick their bet here in the forum skipped Suarez's fight.

Speaking of The Internation, DOTA has released the new format for the Group Stage of TI 2023. In the new Group Stage format, instead of two groups of ten teams playing for four days, four groups of five will now play for two, with the bottom team in each group getting eliminated. This means that every team will now only play four games instead of the previous nine, making every game impactful to a team’s final standings in the group.
