What really surprised is that Shopify Rebellion exist while EG team is still active too. I thought EG rebrand to Shopify.  The best of 2 in group stage is designed to make a quick result. Why would they not exist? They are not connected to EG except for the fact that the roster is the previous EG roster before EG went to South America. They are a new organization now. 2 Chinese teams are already surely out for the Dota 2 Lima major's group stages.

Not much expectation from these two teams anyway. What I do not expect is Tundra, the defending TI champion, dropping into the 6th spot. Are you guys watching the Philippines vs Lebanon game now? It's a great game for the Philippines; they are leading by double digits already, and I really like this lineup. There's no need for Brownlee to carry the team because his teammates have international experience and can really help the team get better. The defense and ball movement are impressive so far. If they can maintain a 20-point lead in the first half, it will be hard for Lebanon to come back in the second half, in my opinion.
By the way, the spread before the game was -7.5, so looking at the game now, it will easily be covered.
I was not aware that today was the game against Lebanon. I only caught the last few minutes of the game when I turned the TV on. I was glad that they won the game with a good lead against Lebanon. This is good for the team. They have another game on Monday against Jordan, which I think they can easily win as well.
Not sure if this is correct but I think we are already part of the FIBA World Cup 2023 as we are the host of the group and final phase.
Yes, we are automatically qualified since we are hosting the next FIBA World. But we still should not take the qualifiers lightly since they will give our players a good experience in international competition, especially the young ones. We should start saving money for the games since all of the biggest basketball players will be in our country. It is our chance to meet them in person. Gilas Pilipinas shows us a good play and a good win, they are improving a lot like in the movement of the ball they are very good all I see for miles now is unselfishness which is pretty good if they have this. And also the big guys Junmar fajardo and Justin brownlee doing good as well and for sure malonzo will happy for his play 2 hand dunk by malonzo is the best highlights for this game. Now gilas defeated lebanon and they show us who they are.
Hopefully, they can continue to do so in FIBA World. PBA has shortened conferences to give way for Gilas to practice and blend well. That is a great opportunity to redeem themselves since they are heavily criticized in the recent events they competed, especially the coaches. |

I just want to ask a question regarding the Westbrook's previous team, the Lakers.
With only 23 games remaining, and with their better roster now compare to where it was before trade deadline, do you think that the Lakers will clinch the playoffs this regular season? What is the ceiling for this new Lakers roster this season?
I mean they have a chance. They are on the 13th seed right now, but the are only 5 games behind the 4th seeded Clippers. That's how tight the Western Conference right now. This is the tightest competition that I've ever seen in the Western Conference. For me, I see them clinching to a play-in spot and the highest that they might probably get is the 8th seed.
They have a chance to make it to the playoffs, but it is very slim though. They are now 3 games behind the warriors who are sitting at number 10 in the west. I do not think the top 8 in the west are going to drop their game and move down the rank. But I am expecting the Jazz to drop from their current rank so maybe the Lakers can take that spot if they continue to win. I saw their game against the Warriors and the new roster looks good though it is against a depleted Warriors. Let's see if they stay the same against a more competitive and complete team. Maybe the Lakers can do it but that is only if they all stay healthy. |

PSG.LGD is not in a good placement in the Lima Major. It's obvious that they are having tons of troubles when it comes to their picks and what strategies they need to employ in order to get a more comfortable game. Honestly, I was expecting that they'll be miles ahead of GG when it comes to group stages being the LGD that I used to know, but it seems that they are not that cohesive yet as a team and they still have a lot of internal struggles to resolve especially in hero picks.
v Gaimin Gladiators are actually good even in the regionals. I watched their games and Quinn, and the crew was actually on point every time. Doing well in Lima is just the continuation of what they have started early in the season. I know they will finish strong in this major. It is too early to say that LGD has problems since it is too early in the tournament. We are just not used to PSG starting weak but maybe they can finish strong this time. |

I cannot blame these bettors anyways. There's a reason why the Lakers have been trying hard to unload Westbrook even before the start of the season due to his declining stats. Westbrook is really not that bad of a player, but his $46 million salary this year made him bad. The Clippers made a huge gamble because if Westbrook performs well, they will have the advantage of re-signing him again and they can also let him go next season if he becomes unwanted. At least the Clippers' gamble is only good for a year although still very costly.
Not costly at all. His contract is veteran minimum since the Jazz bought him out already. The Clippers are taking very little risk while giving a chance to Westbrook to showcase his strength when not under heavy criticism by fans. Maybe he will improve Clippers, maybe not. But this is his chance that he still deserves a good contract in NBA. It's gonna be a wild wild west again this time. Everyone for sure have eyes on the Western conference. The Suns may never make a huge impact on Durant acquisition for the remainder of the season, but come playoffs, they will definitely be one of the hardest if not the hardest team to beat in the West.
Imo, they are not just really strong on papers, but they could make it work this time, most probably.
Hopefully then can blend together because they really are one of the teams you need to watch out this season. They are already a contender team before they acquire Durant. And now that they have him, they are more dangerous. What I only see the problem will be is their defense. But if they can fix that, they are the team to beat and maybe Durant can finally get his 3rd ring. |

So many games playing simultaneously in Lima Major it is hard to follow all the games. First-day matches of Lima Major seem even and unpredictable. BetBoom was the 3rd favorite before the start of this event but was zeroed out by Shopify Rebellion. I have a feeling that they won't be in the upper bracket. Entity though they faced lower teams, at least it build their momentum leading to their series today against Shopify Rebellion.
No early bets for now as the tendency of 1-1 are still very possible. I am just planning to bet on 2nd maps once those favorite teams lose their 1st maps. Maybe this is the safest while still observing.
Team Liquid is the only thing predictable. They are showing that they are still in their best form. They are at the top of their group and tied with Entity. It won't be long though. They have taken Map 1 of their series against Entity. They won easily in just 28 minutes. I think it is good to bank your bet on Team Liquid. I think Team Liquid is the strongest team right now in Lima. Hopefully, they can carry their momentum until the finals. |

I hope that Coach Ty Lue already said to Westbrook that you must not shoot the ball, and just focus on assisting and playmaking.
What kind of strategy is that? WB is not Ben Simmons. He is still good for 15 Points, 6 rebounds per game. He is not afraid to shoot and that is a good thing. He is still 41 FG%. Clippers have a good roster of shooters and that will open up the lane for WB to drive hard into the basket, which is his bread and butter. Maybe he can take less 3's since there are other outside shooters in the Clippers but WB is still good for perimeter shots. Probably he can give some quality minutes on the floor and he will be given more chance let's say closing a game because he has that experience. But we don't what him to be the closer like shooting from the outside as it might be painful to watch.  Getting quality minutes from Westbrook is easy, but given that he is a former MVP, I think starting him is necessary. I don't think so. It will depend on his performance. I think it is better to start Mann and let WB come from the bench. Being a former MVP does not translate to an automatic starter. If he can show that he deserves to start then I believe the coach will start him. Ty Lue is experienced enough to handle Westbrook. |

Well, the game was done between Execration and Tundra. And as I've said, Tundra as the TI champs doesn't mean that they won't lose to any team.
The series ended with a 1-1 and that's actually a good start with Execration. The Lima major has officially kicked and I've missed some games right now, I'm watching Entity versus Geek Slate. 50 minutes in the game yet the kill/death score is 7-12 in favor of Entity.
Even PSG.LGD has lost a map against EG and they ended up draw in the series. LGD is now playing against TSM and they are on the verge of losing again. TSM have a very large lead , 23K in net worth. It will be hard to comeback to that but it is still doable. I think LGD will lose a map against TSM. Group A has a lot of Draw matches today while Group B have more sweep. I think I'll be betting draw on Group A tomorrow. I forgot that today is the start of Lima Major that is why I do not have any bets placed but turned out lucky for me since my prediction is way off. If I am the Clippers management I won't waste time and money looking at the 10 day contract. This could be the best solution they could offer.
Is he offered just a 10 day contract or 1 year veteran minimum? I am yet to see how long is the contract of westbrook from any reliable sports news. I'm actually glad he landed on the Clippers with a good chance of playing in the playoffs. I think he will also fit with Kahwi since he's not really known as a ball hog. WB can also play as a starter but probably needs to earn his spot by playing defense too.
There are already rumors that Westbrook will play in the Clippers' starting lineup. If that is really the case, Terance Mann probably won't be happy about that coaching decision, as he'll likely have to spend more time on the bench than on the court. Anyway, it should be interesting to see how Westbrook will affect the Clippers, considering the fact that their current roster is already good, and they clearly have the potential to perform well in the playoffs. I do not like it either. I think Mann is really doing good lately and he deserves to start with the Clippers. But I think WB role in the team was discussed during his meeting with Kawhi and PG. So, if they have agreed that WB will start, then that would be it. Hopefully, it will be a good decision. |

Well, I expect a lot of crowd with this one at least because the venue is outside of NCR, and fans can't wait to see their idols playing in front of them.
PBA players that are popular are like celebrities in the Philippines, people will surely come to see them. This is all-star, but the meaning of an all-star should be on the current situation, not an all-star in the past, you know what I'm saying. Well, I symphatize those who are not invited beause they are not popular despite having an impressive season, but it is what it is, they just have to accept it. Nothing that they can do, PBA is a business and the league needs to gain money from this all-star activities, just an event and if those players will do more hard work time will come for them and they will be added to this event, those who are selected didn't just go straight and became popular they also invested their talents and all the hard works to bring their name on top. Let's enjoy what the league bring us and hopefully fans will not be dissapointed with the outcome of this game. I do not think so. If they continue this format, the fans will pick the players for the all-star game, then players from unpopular teams will not have enough votes to qualify. Even if you overachieve if you are not popular or your team is not popular, you cannot gain enough followers to vote for you. I think it is best that only the starting 5 will be voted by the fans and PBA will vote for the role players. This will give chance to players who performed great recently but not popular to play in the all-star games. |

Abit early but lets start betting on the Lima Major Im going with this for the opening game  Pretty sure that PSG.LGD is going to dominate but Execration might win a single map against Tundra so yeah its kinda weird as most people will choose Tundra but this season, Tundra is not really dominating the DPC so there is a good chance that it they might win LGD had a hard time getting qualified at first, but with how EG played I guess this would be an even matchup. Both of these teams seem to be just equal right now, so a draw might be imminent. As for Tundra and Execration, a draw is also highly possible. I can't really gauge who's the stronger team on the groupstage as most of those playing have had a rough start. I think doing draws on most of the matches on day 1 is a safe bet, and as the tournament progresses and we see the metas used by these teams we can safely pick, then maybe we can draw a conclusion on which teams will be able to get an edge against another. LGD had no problem qualifying. They finished with just 1 defeat and were able to out play Aster on their tie breaker. Even with the current changes in their roster, they are still very good. And they belong to one of the strongest regions in Dota. While EG are coming from one of the weakest regions. Though EG finished second, the gap in the competition between CN and SA is wide. I think LGD will win in this match-up. I have not seen them yet start weak in a major so I believe they will start strong in Lima as well. It will not be that easy, but they will definitely win against EG. |

Just over a day left before the Lima Major starts but there are still no odds for the matches on my favorite bookies. The first day is filled with good matches. It is a pity they will play simultaneously so it will be hard to watch all the games. I will just follow the favorites and watch good DOTA. I will follow Tundra, Team Liquid, PSG.LGD and Aster. However, one thing that is certain is that this "no-defense at all" all-star of the past decade or so, is actually quite horrible. I know I sound like an old guy and this has been going on for a while, it has been YEARS since there was any defense, but I just can't like this, it's really a horrible thing and definitely bothers me a lot.
Maybe the goal was to make it more entertaining by showcasing the offensive prowess of the all-stars but it backfired because we are not seeing basketball anymore. It is already a joke. Unless NBA put something on the line that will make the players want to defend and be competitive, the quality of all-star games will continue to degrade. Hopefully, the NBA will find a format that will improve it because it is supposed to be the best game since it is an all-star game. That's good news for WB. I don't doubt that he will be signed again but it took longer than other players that were also bought out. Chemistry will not be a problem for him and PG13. Coach Ty Lue should see that when he lands at the Clippers, pair him up with him and maximize the strength as soon as they can. Damn Clippers are getting scarier with their roster. WB landing on a contender. It will be a slap to the face of the Lakers who treated him as a scapegoat if he performs well and help the clippers land a championship. Hopefully, Coach Ty Lue can devise a way to maximize the skills of Westbrook. I think he will not be a starter but WB will be a great addition coming from the bench. |

I'm glad that you are smiling despite losing your bet. I presume you only bet just to have fun while watching the All-Star game. If Giannis had played, the outcome might be different as Giannis loves to attack the paint. So it's a mixture of 3-point shooting and dunk contest. Until next NBA All-Star mate, while the NBA is resting, we should rest as well, but we should be ready with our bankroll when the games resume.

Dame made the nail in the coffin that gave the Team Giannis the victory. Now the Lebron winning streak has ended.
He tried to end it with a bang by shooting a half-court shot but after several tries, they decided to end it with a regular 3. It could have been nice if Dame made one of those half-court shots to end the game. Nope, it's not all about how they design who plays in the East and who play is the West in the allstar game that decides the game to be serious or not, but it's them, it's today's NBA players that's making the allstar game obviously a joke. Grade schooler game is better than that allstar game lol. Every year passed, the allstar game is becoming less and less competitive. Though I understand that these players are also careful not to get injured, coz they still got a lot of schedules ahead of the allstar break, but at least they should've put an effort to make it more competitive.
I think it was mentioned that the coached did not even practiced with the team. They only gave them a few plays or whatever but from what I understand from it, the stars can just do whatever they want. It would not be competitive if it was like that from the beginning. I guess the stars do not want to get injured, but it would not hurt to make the game a little bit competitive. Giannis though, looks like the wrist is really injured and he just used the left hand to score the first basket and then he went out. The league is still on the break though, so many players can still recover before going back to Friday's game.

For me, if I incur 3-day losing streak, I will stop for a while just to shake the jinx away. I believe that there are lucky weeks and there are not-so-lucky weeks. If I started to see that it is not a lucky week for me, then I would stop betting for that whole week and come back again the next week. It would reset my focus, take me away from bad thoughts about losing and give me time to replenish my funds.
I think your strategy is good. As long as it works for you, stick with it.

I wish it was going back to East vs. West and players wear their own teams jerseys. Team selections before the game was exciting though. We can say that's a good progress in this format.
First half was decent. Giannis only played for 20 seconds. LeBron's dunk was amazing. 3-pt contest champion Dame Dolla missed 7 in a row. Everybody scored except De'Aaron Fox. Kyrie and Tatum take the game more seriously. We'll see who wants to be MVP in second half though, I'm expecting LeBron to score more. We are watching an average All-Star game so far. I hope second half will be better.
Lebron did not play in the second half because of an injury. It is too bad since in the second half, his team needs his leadership. Team Giannis poured threes from everywhere. I think it was Dame who even made a half court three. Tatum does not seem to miss from the 3-point area. Team Giannis created a big lead in the 3rd quarter that made it hard for team Lebron to overcome in the 4th quarter. Congratulations to Jayson Tatum for bagging the MVP award. |

Really think your bet has a chance to hit. Since Lebron went out injured just as the half ended. He caught his fingers at the rim blocking a shot and it didn't look too good for him to return. So he is out for the remainder of the match.

I am not familiar with Shopify Rebellion and I am surprised they have quite a high odd to win Lima Major. Is there anything particular with EG and Shopify that would get you excited about their series? They might not even meet since they are in different groups.
EG moved from NA to now South America and replaced the old roster which were the Shopify Rebellion's now(North America). Oh, I see, that is something. Do they have beef because one took a slot from another or are we just speculating here? But we are not sure if they will ever meet in this competition since they are in different groups unless both of them get into the Semis or Finals. Hopefully they will meet so we can judge if EG made the right decision or not. |
