Getting
"GpuMiner k1a failed -52"
280x

GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT  100 set. Virtual memory set.
v2.2 was ok. What could cause this issue?

Make sure that you use ALL files from new version. Not just replace old EXE by new, but also don't forget about "data.bin" file.

MoneroPool.org is back! 0% fees for now

Update link for my miner, v1.2 is too old Smiley

Well, I think -1% of mining speed worth -10% of power. If you don't like it - use v3.0.
2004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Mining on: June 20, 2014, 06:09:23 PM
Dev fee is taken properly, no additional main mining degradation is involved. Miner shows raw hash rate, but except dev fee there are also "outdated share found - skip" messages:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=638915.msg7212994#msg7212994

Test v3.1, I improved pool-related code, v2.2 has problems with json implementation if pool is loaded heavily, it can skip new jobs in some cases and it will cause a lot of outdated shares.

BTW, I see strange things related to pools in logs and you can check them too. There are two threads in miner - main and devfee, both are connected to the same pool and both must get new job at the same time. However, sometimes new job arrives only to one thread and second thread can get it 10-30 seconds later or don't get it at all. I test stratum+tcp://monero.crypto-pool.fr:6666, I did not test other pools.

*edit same thing with 3.1, k1a failed -52 error

PM me full log.
2006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v3.0 on: June 20, 2014, 03:21:49 PM
v3.0 is available:

- Improved mining speed by about 20% for all cards.
- Improved stability.
- Fixed some bugs.

I will add minergate pool and "main pool" feature soon.

v3.0 is not working for me. I've already set virtual menory to 16500M and reboot the system. But v3.0 allways returns:

GPU 1, GpuMiner k1a failed -52
GPU memory allocation failed. Try to set at least 16 GB of Virtual Memory: Compu
ter Properties / Advanced System Settings / Performance / Advanced / Virtual Mem
ory
GPU 3, GpuMiner k1a failed -52
GPU memory allocation failed. Try to set at least 16 GB of Virtual Memory: Compu

ory
GPU 2, GpuMiner k1a failed -52
GPU memory allocation failed. Try to set at least 16 GB of Virtual Memory: Compu
ter Properties / Advanced System Settings / Performance / Advanced / Virtual Mem[/sub]

v2.2 working fine. so confuse...

PM me full log.

more power use, more hotter, please donot increase the speed....temp too hot

v3.1 too?

Runs hot as hell but better speeds with my R9-290s (650h/s each)

Thanks and great work

I found the reason. DOWNLOAd V3.1:

- Reduced power consumption.

Let me know if it's colder than v3.0.

Within 24 hours I will release new version, much more stable (both pool and GPU parts).
2012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 04:35:11 PM

The last couple of buffers are different size for an unrelated reason. Note, I have not used GPU_MAX_ALLOC
type parameters and have never seen a need to. This also works on Cayman, and Barts devices but I prefer
Tahiti because the memory is so large and fast. Sorry, I don't know much about Nvida devices because I
usually choose hardware based on specifications.

Hope it helps."[/i]

I already use this trick, starting from first version Smiley And it works, but not on all systems as you can see, especially on multi-GPU systems. So I will try to improve this trick a bit.
2013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 03:43:10 PM
Claymore are you using VMPROTECT on the EXE files?

If so that could/would explain a lot of the problems people are having.  It has some problems when dealing directly with hardware.

iam pretty sure it does..... use vmprotect

If so it would explain a lot of the memory errors and loosing touch with the hardware.

Yes I use vmprotect. Do you know a lot about it to state that it's the reason of problems with GPUs? If so, let me know more details, I will be glad to check it.
I always test both original and vmprotect versions on my systems and I never saw any differences for several months in different miners and other software I created.
For CryptoNote miner, for example, both versions don't work until I set pagefile 16GB.
If you have problems with vmprotect - miner will not start on your system at all because it does its job at starting only. If you see at least one line in console after starting - everything works properly.
The problem is in AMD drivers, they don't want to work with large memory sizes. Drivers just don't allow OpenCL app to allocate a lot of GPU memory at once. For example, 290X card has 4GB but OpenCL gives me less than 1GB at once by default. GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT variable is a solution (I can assign up to 3GB), but buggy solution as you can see. And AMD found a solution - today I tried Catalyst 14.6 and even with GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT I cannot allocate more than 1GB at once now. So they solved the problem Wink I have a couple of ideas about possible workaround, I hope it will help, new version will be available soon. Anyway, working with AMD OpenCL is some kind of magic which is much more unstable than vmprotect.
2014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 03:19:04 PM
Hmm my miner after few hours mines but on pools it says like im not subbmiting any shares? Did dev set 100% fee after few hours or is this problem with pools?
Problem with the pool. Look at your miner and you'll see that you aren't actually mining (unless you're using the latest version in which you should check the backup pool to see if it swapped).

But anyway, he doesn't mine 100% after a few hours. Been running the miner for days now and it's solid and on the pool all the time.

I have 3 backup pools + primary pool, cards are running on 100%, no shares submitted on any of the pools

I'd like to know more details. What does miner show? Does it show that it submits shares? Does it get new jobs?
2015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 01:35:13 PM
I received several msg asking me to give my workaround for connecting claymore to minergate.
I can give you the solution i found, but it's just for the proof of concept.

Claymore can't connect to the pool for devfee, so the miner try to reconnect every 5 sec, and after some amount of time, stop mining with a message.(something like 5 minutes or so)
Claymore can't merge mine neither, we will need a special miner for that (i think).

But mining on minergate with claymore would be already very good. The best thing you can do if you also want to, is to ask the dev if he could make a version which can.
Claymore is closed source, with 5% fee. I have no problems with that, but please listen to us !

Ok, I'll add this pool Smiley
2016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: June 18, 2014, 01:29:48 PM
I am trying to mine monero on my windows 8.1 64bit system with cartalyst 14.4 and a 290x card but i am getting only 30h/s .

Is this because of Cartalyst 14.4 instead of 13?

Would an update to 14.6 beta fix it ?

It is topic about XPM mining! Go to monero topic ask there!

Claymore, what about new 14.6 drivers? There is quite qood speedup on X1* algos! Would you adopt XPM miner to new drivers?

Today I checked 14.6, 13.12 is faster by 1-2%.
2017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 10:53:52 AM
This error appears very often when rig have low RAM (2-4 Gb), even when size of pagefile is more then 16G (24 for example). Can you fix this?

This is not a problem of miner, it does not use a lot of RAM or page-file. It is problem of AMD OpenCL driver and I cannot find any workaround so far.
2018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN Windows CPU Miner v2.2 on: June 17, 2014, 08:08:33 PM
v 2.2 is available:

- Fixed bugs.

Not work:

And nothing happens... Sniffer don't see any connection from miner, only few packets, then it start. But after what - nothing. I wait 15 min and restart miner:

All works fine. May be problem with pool (but i tried 4 different and miner sometimes start work and sometimes not), but i don't understand why miner did not try connect to other pool after 10 or 15 seconds if there are problem with this pool.

Miner connects to pool, send login, pool sends answer. Are you sure that sniffer did not catch login request? It;s in text form so you can see it as text. This way you can check whether this problem related to miner or pool.
You are correct about timeout for getting job from pool after connection - I'll add it, due to ddos attacks pools are unstable and additional checks are necessary.

Hi Guys!

First Claymore THANKS! I think you are doing a really great job both with this miner and the XPM one. (I really hope you make enough for the effort and time you put in!)

I have one test rig where this miner runs flawlessly.. (I can confirm it is working on 6870,6850 @ 70-100 H/s/card only 3 GB memory dual core.)

I wanted to try it on a "real" rig.

win7, catalyst 13.12 , 4x 79xx..  6 GB .. newest 2.2 version (got it also with 2.1)

06/17/14-02:11:28 - SHARE FOUND (target 5000) - (GPU 0)

GPU 0, GpuMiner k1a failed -4

But I get this error I have not seen anyone else reporting...

Anyone with an idea what I could do?

@Clayore: you probably have the best chance of guessing or knowing what kould be wrong. Please if you have any "feeling" whatsoever.

Hope someone can help!

It's GPU memory allocation error, I will update miner so it will show more detailed message. Try to set Virtual Memory (pagefile) 16GB or larger as described in readme.

Unlike v2.1, this one hasn't crashed so far, but again 280x with elpida doesn't seem to be running right after a while, as I checked, I saw these anomalies http://bayimg.com/AAOieaafM and http://bayimg.com/aAOIgAafm

Can you set "-dbg 2" option, increase console buffer height (in console settings) up to 5000 lines and when you see this problem send me text from console? You can send PM me, I want to track down this problem, but I cannot reproduce it on my rigs.
