2001  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: January 11, 2014, 07:23:51 PM
Bough for 2.4BTC and earn MAYBE in 280 days 25% <> compared to exchange 2.4BTC and hold for 280 days.

It's quite possible my numbers were off, but accounting for difficulty, I calculated these making back 2.4 BTC within ~70 days. Did I get something wrong ?
2002  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales NEW STOCK ***NOW SHIPPING*** on: January 11, 2014, 07:11:01 PM
Just a reminder, that Spotswood makes some awesome cases for these rigs. Have already ordered two of his cases in the past for existing rigs, and just placed an order for another one for the additional rig I ordered.

2003  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BITMAIN's website and online store are open-promotion with limited 30 AntMiner on: January 11, 2014, 06:42:06 PM
The need to pay within a hour is ridiculous. If the buyers BTC in in a paper wallet then it can take over 1 hour to get the coin to a paying wallet, and if confirmations are slow then it will take longer.

With respect, how is it Bitmain's problem that you don't have access to your funds in a timely fashion ?

I can understand your frustration, but feel you are barking up the wrong tree here.
2004  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BITMAIN's website and online store are open-promotion with limited 30 AntMiner on: January 11, 2014, 04:50:11 PM
Hah tried to order earlier when they were not open for sales, and now I'm on the road having missed the boat.

C'est la vie. Grats to everyone that snagged one !

EDIT: NM, got back to my studio and was able to place order #00120140111182838203opz2HKEj06BB. Thanks again Bitmain !!!
2005  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales NEW STOCK ***NOW SHIPPING*** on: January 11, 2014, 01:44:22 AM
Ordered. Thanks.
2006  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Magic The Gathering Power Nine Set on: January 10, 2014, 08:57:59 PM
Are you only buying a complete set or would you take pieces and are you looking for NM/M condition or just sleeve playable?

Looking for a complete set of the power 9 suitable for framing / display.
2007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 10, 2014, 05:22:07 PM
If there is any way we can pay a reasonable premium to have the Neptunes shipped as two separate 1.5TH units that work on a standard American household circuit (instead of needing to use two circuits total for a single 3TH unit), I would be very interested in placing an additional order for 3TH.
2008  Economy / Goods / [Deal In Progress] Magic The Gathering Power Nine Set on: January 10, 2014, 03:50:00 PM
Looking to purchase a set of the power nine cards.

- Desire all cards from the same series (Alpha, Beta, or Unlimited).
- Looking for "clean" cards with no autographs or other markings.
- Wishing to acquire an entire set at once in one lump-sum, and not individual cards at a time.

Please PM me if you might be willing to sell them for BTC at a reasonable price.

EDIT: Have a deal in progress for this. Thanks to everyone that got back to me on this WTB.
2009  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Sold] 0 x Liquid Synergy Design K16's Available - USA Only - 0.1 BTC each on: January 10, 2014, 05:56:56 AM
as a side thought are there any special drivers needed on linux (beaglebone black)

Not aware of any. If you can run CGMiner on it, you should not have any issues communicating with these. In theory.
2010  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Sold] 0 x Liquid Synergy Design K16's Available - USA Only - 0.1 BTC each on: January 10, 2014, 04:07:56 AM
Kickass ! Glad to see you folks got the stuff OK.

Cheers !

Also can you show me which GPU "pull in excess of that"?

My bad. Was looking at dual gpu figures on tomshardware. 6990's and 7990's are beasts, for example.

EDIT: ... and FWIW, just pulled the trigger on a batch 2 Neptune order. Whee !

*holds everyone tightly*
2012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 09, 2014, 09:44:41 PM
What GPU pulls 350W?

Quite a few pull in excess of that, in fact.
2013  Other / Meta / Re: Paid signatures poll on: January 09, 2014, 09:22:59 PM
Paid .sig advertisers win. The community arguably loses.

Technically BFL is shipping from stock.  Although $1000 for 60GH is a huge rip off IMO.

To be clear, I'm looking to buy a unit >=2TH

Why does Black Arrow throw red flags?

Issues with customer service communicating in a timely and effective fashion.
2015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 09, 2014, 08:28:16 PM
Can someone try to convince me not to order a 3TH unit from Batch 2 ?

 I've been evaluating the various options for a while now, and seem to have circled back to KNC based on the following;

 - Cointerra's power useage numbers require two circuits for North American homes. If I need two circuits anyway, paying $3k for another 1TH doesn't seem all that off
 - HashFast is out for obvious reasons
 - Butterfly Labs is out for obvious reasons
 - Black Arrow has raised a red flag for me and will not be buying on principle due to customer service issues
 - Coincraft's pricing does not make sense

It would seem that KNCMiner is the horse to bet on at this time.

Am I overlooking something for start of Q2 ? Can't seem to find anything substantial available in a reasonable timeframe for Q1.

 Thanks, folks.

I'm partial to this one.

Refund offer from Jan 2014 newsletter is not true, by my experience.

My story goes...

- Ordered Nov 27, paid 28, 50GH boxes @ $2,499 advertised as IN STOCK, SHIPPING IMMEDIATELY!!!
- Followed instructions for payment and emailing office@ with the wire info.
- No email from BFL.
- Missed Black Friday sale, damn.
- More than two weeks later funds confirmed received. I log on everyday to BFL account, that was the only reason I knew of the status change.
- No email from BFL.
- Price drops, grrr. Not a happy Christmas.
- Another two weeks go by then status to processing.
- No email from BFL.
- Price drops, F-me.
- Not a happy new year.
- Jan 2014 newsletter allowing request for refund on 65nm orders that haven't shipped. I emailed office@ right away requesting for refund. PM BFL_Emily the same request. Glimmer of hope. Who would want their $2,499 boxes when they're worth $984 now? Not me.

- Today, I checked my BFL account and its marked as Completed. Ready for pickup via Fedex
- No email from BFL

More hurt…
- I requested USPS for shipping because they won't have brokerage fees or much less than Fedex, items being shipped to Canada.
- I will have to pay sales tax since its being shipped to Canada, by all indication, the invoice will show $2,499 instead of the current $984 price, so I'll end up paying more tax.
- Difficulty level rose 1 or twice already, loss of BTC mining income.

2017  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ghash.io is becoming SHOCKINGLY AGGRESSIVE NOW, closing in 45% on: January 09, 2014, 02:47:38 PM
so now we are protected only by whim/integrity of two persons/organisations.

Knock out the current top two, and then we'll be then again protected only by whim/integrity of the next two largest pools (And this is nothing against BTCG. Eleuthria really does seem like a super dude and I really appreciate him)

 Difficult problem to solve  Undecided
2018  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3200 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: January 09, 2014, 02:44:45 PM
Eleuthria, might you considering lowering your pool fees temporarily to incentivise more people to get off ghash.io and onto your pool ?
Lowering fees temporarily just to lure new people is a bit sneaky.

Fair point. Bad knee-jerk suggestion brought on by this ghash.io nearing 51% craziness.

2020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GHash.IO and double-spending against BetCoin Dice on: January 09, 2014, 02:06:40 PM
Glad I bailed on ghash when I did, but this is scary to see their hash rate climb near 51%, and all we do is just sit back and watch it like a bad horror movie Sad

So this is how Bitcoin dies... (?)
