Having sputz on ignore is making this tough, so anyone who can post a sentence or two summing up sputz's current nonsense will get to choose how I respond.
You can pick from:
1) sonnet
2) epigram poem (think short and sweet ala Emily Dickinson)
3) list poem (think Whitman, beat poetry or Russian experimentalist from WWII)
4) straight up gangsta
5) your choice (sestinas and other variants are off the table as they take way longer than twenty minutes)

My dad is in his 70's and has had his identity stolen 3 times! He hates having to use credit cards. That is one huge argument for crypto, everytime he has had his identity stolen it was a breach of a large chain store.
In crypto your dad can still have his privatekeys stolen if hes not carefull enough At least then it's your own fault, and not completely out of your control and the fault of Target, Sony, etc. And that is supposed to make it better? You get to lose your money AND feel stupid. And losing your money by trusting a third party wouldn't make you feel stupid? Really? ... But that money is usually insured, so not so dumb if you lack the capabilities, time, or desire to learn how to secure your own funds. As long as Monero creates a better method for securing funds for the politically motivated and the technically capable, better protections should be created for those who aren't politically motivated to secure their own funds or who lack the technical capabilities to do so. In a libertarian's or crypto-anarchist's ideal world, everyone would both know how to do this and be willing to do so, but that's hardly the world we live in, so almost best methods will have to do for most people.

Or maybe they can hire an ego maniac millionaire who will pour endless funds into the coin ? ..while you vultures financially prey on this poor mentally ill man for your own gain. I would safely wager you Shill's that loiter around spewing Morono bullshit simply love the fact a Millionaire has single handily kept this coin alive and paid for the so called "dev work" you are happy to take payment for.
Had Risto not poured sick amounts of money in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range plus infinite "donations" non stop for two years you snot nose brat shills would have a dead coin on your hands.
Endless funds? Infinite donations? Paid for the dev work? No. Just no. Smooth, if you wanted to show a logic fail, you could have stopped at: Or maybe they can hire an ego maniac millionaire who will pour endless funds into the coin ?
So you say they should hire a millionaire to pay for development.... ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.beerleagueathletes.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsteps-to-nowhere.png&t=663&c=jGGkCUIpPjTlmg) This kind of logic fail is why I have sputz on ignore. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

He's a shady dude ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) His Crypto Kingdom monopoly/Civilisation game is a pretty cool invention. Game engine is quite detailed and well designed. I think this is a screenshot from the game. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi974.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fae225%2Fdangreco%2FGeneral%2FAriseThreadLongSinceDead.jpg&t=663&c=36P3phSJmFc64A)

I think John Connor should offer the exploits for a reward/bounty, if they do really exist. I thought he was about the improvement of crypto, I mean there are plenty of really good aspects of Vcash that are making crypto payments easier, shouldn't he 'help out' Monero by telling them what their expoits are?
If it is personal, he is ignoring the mass of users, who could lose coins or have their value greatly reduced by these exploits being exploited. That seems irresponsible to me.
He did state that there would be some sort of event to Monero in March, so his track record is as shady as his self-congratulatory claims in all areas of cryptocurrency. I just think it's amusing that he and his shills/sock-puppets actively start arguments with BTC and Monero developers and then play the victim card as soon as they hit back--it's like that bratty cousin who hit you and ran away when you were kids. Add an over playing of persecution complex and you have the complete vcash playbook. And yes, some time stamps would help you look less like a liar Mr. Connor. I can't find anything on twitter that leads me to believe you knew anything before the actual attack took place--it's akin of some army representative saying that he predicted that 24/7 radar use would help stop an attack the day after the Pearl harbor attack, but can't provide any evidence other than his word--well, duh, thanks for nothing. Unless you can find a publicly verifiable source, your word is as good as your reputation, and in this case, that ain't so hot.

Except that the market isn't there for it, so third parties aren't doing it effectively, yet. Since that is the case, we have to focus efforts on getting one easy-to-use, easy to obtain and install, and well-maintained GUI out there.
I'd say the same thing about exchanges or anything else if no one were providing the service (in fact I sort of did that with the OTC trading thread in the very early days of Monero).
With greater adoption and scale (including liquidity and market cap), more third parties will be able to effectively provide these products, and they will likely do it better because they will be able to specialize on different feature tradeoffs and particular market segments (including grandmas), but until then we have to fill the gap with something reasonably suitable for a generic "user" if we want to get anywhere.
But such a solution already exists. MyMonero is already much simpler than downloading the core software and running a node, even with a bundled GUI. Why would grandma (or any "generic user") need the core GUI over MyMonero? Who does it really serve? Security. Do you think anyone that needs a simple to use wallet is practicing OSPEC? Or do you mean the appearance of security?

Gui will help adoption period there are no arguments that are sound against that.
I don't think anyone is arguing that that isn't true, just that it isn't the only thing that will lead to adoption, but it does seem to be the only thing some people focus on.
|
|
|
how many people use bitcoin's official qt gui?
how many use mycelium, electrum, coinbase, cold wallets, etc?
the xmr gui is not as important as people are making it out to be. people should stop fixating on it.
I think the poor man's investor (cart before the horse) argument goes as follows: A coin must have an official GUI for moon Monero doesn't have an official GUI Therefore Monero no moon

The FUD is reaching epic levels. There is so much nonsense spackle about the '12 exploits' but I am quite sure none of them exist. Think about it - if you had an exploit which allowed you to reveal Dash transactions, generate Dash, double-spend Dash, or even defeat the private key encryption... what would you do? Troll the Dash board with claims of existence? No, if you were white hat you would arrange for a dev to get secure hold of these (possibly for a bounty). If you were black hat, you would just use them already and take whatever info / coins you could get your hands on.
My guess is that Mr. Connor put a for sale sign up as a delay tactic and BCX is just a dick acting like a dick in a dick way. Also, in Connor's tweets with fluffy, he promised some sort of happening in march, so.... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
