So it is pretty much considered a safe haven on exchanges to avoid bear days. That is the only use?

You could also use it to buy stuff--though I'm unsure who accepts tether for payments.

If dash wasn't on LE's radar before, they certainly will be with the addition of Shrem.

Design Issue that needs addressed:

- -

conflict of interest.

- -

You can kill them, you can murder me, but it just lends to the case that I'm right and the concerns need addressed all the more.

King,

Take it easy, please. I am not murdering anyone, actually you are the only one who has killed (Angus).

As for the conflict of interest - it is illusory, because your interest is in receiving, and mine is in giving.

Design flaws met with "I'm xxxxxxx, so no worries" are based on flawed trust models--it's not a me worrying too much thing, it's a me dealing with the relative facts thing (also, please dispense with the false dichotomy already--as I've given most of my life savings to this game and only pull out what's needed for me to survive--and that's been while the GM was on hiatus and the economy has been limited).

On a more pleasant note, I got my dragon : )

1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: March 21, 2017, 07:28:02 AM
Design Issue that needs addressed:

Since moves like taking control of military forces indicate Zechariah is likely planning on taking part in the war game, and moves like killing DIS and PIG (which limits TOWN's ability to feed itself via my control and peasant control of mead, meat) and also Zechariah's recent selloff and give away of s-rw (which could indicate new weaponry or magic to eliminate s-rw's long standing monopoly on arms, and possibly a preemptive move away from profit loss), I must raise the red flag of a conflict of interest.

We ask, with as much trust as should be given one in this trustless world, that the GM abstain (as Syksy has done with quests--much to his credit) from all war events.

I will be happy to illustrate the similarities between dash's masternode controls and the GM as player if the conflict isn't easily grasped by everyone already.

And since this can be just as easily be true in the case of surrogates, provably fair implementations should be made available for god and war events.

When one army (estimated over $10,000) can be captured with a few di casts behind a closed door. SirJacket and Kronicblazer can attest to this happening in the Polonia campaign. And any smart GM can leverage this power along with subtle economic moves to create opportunities for profit and conquest, it seems pretty foolish for anyone to continue playing and expect outcomes congruous with the outcomes they expect to be at least inline with the fairness afforded a dice site.

Until these concerns are addressed, my army will sit in peaceful protest. You can kill them, you can murder me, but it just lends to the case that I'm right and the concerns need addressed all the more.

I almost understand the whole thing but I have a few questions.

Can you use Tether without verification?

If not, how long does it take to get verified?

Can you withdraw your USDT straight to your bank account?

If yes, how long does it take to end up available in your bank account?

Also some banks in the US, Canada, and UK hate bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. Will they freeze the funds if they find out it is related to bitcoin?

Thank you for your help.

It's a cryptocurrency so you will not be able to deposit it into your bank account--I've traded BTC and XMR for it on Poloniex to lock-in a gain and avoid slippage when those markets seem on a downturn.
1326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is PIVX, is it DASH clone? on: March 20, 2017, 08:30:27 PM
Interesting that there are almost half as many nodes as dash in such a short time--seems like dash laid the groundwork on educating people on how to stake as investment, but PIVX is teaching us that you don't need to put all those eggs in one basket via an instamine.
1327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is PIVX, is it DASH clone? on: March 20, 2017, 04:22:56 PM
I'll make my points however I want thanks, be it logic, intuition or black magic spells!

BTW I'm literally watching on my screen PIVX crater as I expected while BITSEND is just starting to rev up from a low market cap. Want logic?...use your eyes.

if the situations is like yesterday, i am sure pivx will be increase more higher because i see in bittrex, there are so active trading and i see there are many movement in buy and sell order and it gets dump and pump in many times and now the price is around in 0.0003x btc soon it will be 0.0004x if its possible gets another pump.

Try 0.004 Wink

400% in a weekend is just scratching the surface--the market cap is still TINY.  Poloneix will pick this up soon and then the bull run will REALLY get started.

How can you say the market cap is tiny? Its 20million down from 40m. Big cap projects like Steem are only 40m. Even if this has a future its run up too quickly and will need a correction.

It was never 40M - cmc should always take the price of the highest volume exchange not the highest price it is down from 42k to 38k

These coins should be judged on the tech for tech. On that basis of that why is 20M not tiny compared to 700M. Of course nobody is saying steem does not deserve higher or lower but again the start is questionable for steem. The fairness of the initial distribution can not be stated enough.

However I agree the rise is steep and I would expect corrections along the way. I wonder if polo doesn't add it if bittrex will start getting a lot of custom back based on polo trollbox where many are asking for it and you can bet many that are not saying on troll box want it there.

That's the funny thing about these coins. People can switch between them very quickly. First mover advantage will count for a lot but if there is a lot of question marks against the first mover or if the tech is proven more useful for way cheaper then unless you are btc (for now) you need to look out.

Sorry but I smell this is about to implode, seen it too many times not to recognise it. The rise was on pure hype, completely undeserved. Its almost a shitcoin if you look at it with objective eyes. It could return to 1-2m and be forgotten about in a month.

Dash is a shitcoin, so your logic is a fail. I bought some PIVX just for fun and to show dashtards that an instamine is a no go when all things are equal (or slightly better).

yeah but its a shitcoin that was first to market on anominity which is everything. Plus its taken a few years to get to its recent inflated price. PVIX does it overnight...yeah ok mate.

A shitcoin is a shitcoin is a shitcoin. And if first means best/last/end in the your conception of privacy, you need to read up on the history of cryptography as it works in the exact opposite direction (with the caveat that a pen and paper burnt after memorization is as good as it currently gets, but hardly applicable to a discussion on cryptocurrencies or technologically based cryptography).

A Crypto Kingdom minigame, A.D. 1666

- -

I'd appreciate any feedback, I hope to put this game to action asap. I will make a post of people's SCI consumptions so far once I get approval that above game is good enough.

Approval granted. And let it be remembered that last time Syksy had a minigame, the 600*MUM granted to the participants, are now valued at 53 mil midprice (1,300 green money). So both STO and STS may attend and serve whomever they prefer.

Previous SCI given to NEW for the technologies is being cancelled as Syksy's proposed game will change the rules of diplomacy.

To be cancelled is 600 SCI from goin2mars and 1500 SCI from myself.
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is PIVX, is it DASH clone? on: March 20, 2017, 01:13:35 PM
Does PIVX have an advanced coin mixing mechanism compared to DASH (which is obsolete nowadays)?
Since DASH effectively gave up anon transactions and goes into the paypal direction, whats PIVX's stand on this?

AFAIK they are using coinjoin (same as dash), but are migrating to zerocoin, which is far better privacy than coinjoin. According to the roadmap they are applying zerocoin protocal to all transactions which is better than what zerocash is offering. Not sure if any staking system avoids centralization over time, but it's better start than its predecessor.
1332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looks like the DASH party is over. on: March 19, 2017, 08:42:19 PM
In order for it to dump, someone must own a lot of Dash. Does anyone own a lot except insiders?

it won't be dumped.  BU will soon be created, DASH will be the first choice to put their money into and the more you have right now the more profit you get. thats what you get when you join dash this time and not a year after. because by then, you'd be buying dash 5x more than what is it today.

More likely is PIVX at $2-5. Most everyone can afford a masternode at 10-20 cents a coin and you don't have to reward a few instaminers.

Which is bullshit of course, Dash is both decentralized with its miners and its masternodes and has a trustless setup:

This just proves that generalizethis can not be trusted with regards to statements about Dash.

Aren't a lot of those VPS hosts?

Yes, and qwizno is aware of this fact (as it's been pointed out many times, as recent as days ago--see link) and he chooses to ignore it and to continually post graphics that are meant to fool noobs.

Qwizno, he's still waiting for an answer--it's only a rhetorical question if you are full of shit.
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is dash going do a cross over with btc on: March 19, 2017, 11:27:24 AM
Have to wonder now is dash going to >> in value per coins, as 1/2 the coins....
its sorta looking that way now....
among other things....the internecine warfare of BU v Segwit is killing it

ok let me ask you one thing only:
WHY NOW?

dash has been around from 2014 according to the ANN topic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.0) or maybe even more. so what has changed about it "today" after 3+ years that made it suddenly good and out of nowhere?!!

nothing about it is changed. neither the code nor the adoption.

do you even have any explanation apart from it being a pump and dump like always?

My guess is there is a Very easy explanation.
1335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin/s are (Dash, Monero, ZCASH) are TRULY anonymous? on: March 19, 2017, 11:11:30 AM
I've seen a lot of shilling on this forum, and I can't tell where it ends.
Can someone tell me the positives and negatives of Dash, Monero and Zcash?
Is one more anonymous than the other?

Dash and Zcash both have trusted setups--which is a no go for anyone who cares about privacy.

What do you mean they have trusted set-ups? Are you referring to fact that people know the Dash team's names and identities.
Also, do you know why the original Monero dev guy disappeared? (not a trick question, I heard something about this).

Dash depends on masternodes to provide their mixing: IE you are trusting that a few people don't control a % of the masternodes and are colluding on revealing information.

Zcash had a initial trusted setup where you are depending that those involved to destroy information in order not to collude.

Monero (and a few other cryptonote coins) has mathematically provable security that doesn't depend on you trusting a third party to reveal information--doesn't matter what happened to thankfulfortoday, it's still opensource and you can test the cryptography yourself.

but the received with monero has no way to say that he received the coin from someone, there is no proof with complete anonimity, and this make sending money to someone malicous very dangerous, because he can say declare the false like saying that the coins are not arrived or something, how is monero dealing with it?

You can voluntarily show your end of the transaction with a viewkey--it's much like a receipt as with cash.

Arguing that we should trust Evan to redistribute his coins is sheer stupidity and demonstrates dash's failure as a serious solution to privacy:

1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AEON COIN on: March 19, 2017, 08:42:55 AM
hi all,, Greetings
AEON COIN coin is relatively new and only traded in bittrex alone,
Aeon was traded on Polo back in 2014, not long after the cryptonote initial party.  A Monero core dev took over the coin, just as a place to experiment with things for Monero. Now, who knows?

That is my first AEON trade on Polo

Quote
AEON/BTC   Buy   Exchange   0.00000220     572.01174779   1.14402350 AEON (0.2%)   0.00125842 BTC   2014-11-05 09:27:51

back them Aeon was 220 sats

Aeon is not simply a test bed for Monero--actually this may be reversed in many instances. As I understand smooth's development goals, it is to be a cryptonote coin which enjoys a significantly lighter/smaller data-footprint-the aim being to be light enough to work on even inexpensive phones in third world countries. It's a very ambitious and worthy goal and to cast it as a Monero testnet doesn't do the coin justice.

Yes I see that, but i don't want to put pressure on Smooth to do it all. Smooth is a great guy to have at the helm and it will be even better with a wider team

Not sure if I follow your logic.

Well originally Aeon was a testnet. Smooth saw an abandoned coin. He took it over (not without some effort...I remember the original dev refused to surrender the domain he had).
Now, more possibilities have come over the horizon into view. Will they happen? Who knows?

In crypto there is a lot of "the dev said this...blah blah blah." But here Smooth has some more freedom. Smooth asked no one for money for himself. He did casually ask if people wanted to donate to a development fund, and some did. I did.

This could be a beautiful project. There has been no coercion, no ICO, no premine. It's a very clean coin.

I hope it goes well but I don't want to put Smooth under the sort of Pressure other devs get under, thats all.

I was just pointing out the development goals aren't to be a testnet for Monero--though there will likely be some of that both ways and for both coins. And while no one invested in aeon wants to put undo pressure on smooth, they likely also don't want the coin cast as another coin's little brother/sister, especially when it has worthier (and well stated) goals .
