Until some weeks before the Mt.Gox BTC price was around 15% higher than on other exchanges. This was because fiat withdraw was restrained, but BTC withdraw worked fine.
Now both withdraws do not work. So in my opinion large players prefer to hold fiat, for having to explain their ownership more easy in a lawsuit. In the court it will be not easy to argue with Bitcoins and their intrinsic value.

Well, that is the newbie limit. It's meant to prevent spamming, overloading and flooding the forum. Bad luck dude. If you stay active the waiting time will decrease. I also had to went through that stuff, but it's not that bad if you ask me.
It's not a newbe limit, it happening to me also. I'm very astonished about this too. I take more care about my inputs, but their rules seem a bit paranoid. I hate Google, and this first search field looks like there is money flowing.

Because software wallets have a host of problems that hardware wallets solve. A hardware wallet is like a dedicated offline computer, which is exactly what people need to run safe wallets. I bet you 99.9% of software wallets running today are on computers connected to the Net. With software wallets, you have to constantly worry about malware / trojans / keyloggers etc.
The thought of losing / corrupting / having their wallet stolen puts lots of people off using bitcoins. And so it should.
Maybe the 1st Gen hardware wallets won't solve all security issues, but they will reduce bitcoin loss substantially.
As for price, it will be a very competitive market. There is no reason to think hardware wallets won't be knocking around for under $100 in 2014. Heck, you can build a functioning bitcoin ATM machine for a couple of hundred bucks. There is no reason for hardware wallets to be expensive.
You want to tell me that the hardware wallet runs secure on an infected system, even with a keylogger installed? Besides Bitcoins I own 5 other alts. Against theft and fire I have distributed my backups to at least one other location. Hence I will for sure use software wallets in 1 1/2 year and much longer. Security is never easy.

The dramatic headline doesn't really match the article.
It will not fail, because I buy all bitcoins of the world for my last Dollar. Ok, two Dollars.

Can someone explain how the malleability problem is manifest?
I thought Gox like other waited for 3x confirmations in the Blockchain before acknowledging transfers into or out of a Gox account?
Gox creates a withdrawal and makes note of the TXID. Then, before it is included in a block, someone else changes the transaction such that only the TXID changes, but the transaction is still the same. When the new TXID gets included in the blockchain, the customer who requested the withdrawal claims they never received it. But they actually did! Gox looks up the old TXID and doesn't find it, so they create a whole new transaction and send another withdrawal to the customer. The customer has now been paid twice!!! This is solely Gox's problem because they do not correctly track transactions. Hopefully not. Can't believe they don't audit their balances continiously/from time to time an discover such drains just in time.

Yes, for the elite it's not a problem to pay tax for a bedroom, sun, air, water, ...

Does this mean GTFO of btce? I only know for sure cryptos are dangerous for bangsters. I never had any problem with btc-e. I'm a believer in cryptos, but at these times with the Mt.Gox issues I'm standing aside.

http://www.centralbank.gov.cy/nqcontent.cfm?a_id=13239&lang=enSo, like I know. Everyone should LISTEN UP to these banksters who stole all their customers money over 100k. "Trust us", they say. "We're looking out for you", they say. "We want to steal from you again" they say. Cyprus banksters. Why are they talking now? Is this a warning to btc-e? They run their platform from cyprus, as far as I know.

Happy to hear this. Would be interested in what had happened.
It should be clear for the users to fill in the fields of the bank transfer very carefully, for it gets processed automatically, I assume. But there are cases the usage field is fragmented by empty space, and automatic processing is broken.
Until now I'm happy with btc-e.

... Thema erledigt.

Can anyone help me with unblocking unprocessed transaction in my wallet? I wanted to send some amount on cryptsy 10 days ago and today I found out it is not on cryptsy, nor in wallet It is just in sent coins but has 0 confirmations for 10 days.. I tried to run wallet with -salvagewallet which solved same problem with quark wallet but it seems that it doesnt work here.. any idea, how to unblock it? Thanks What method do you use? i2p, tor, clearnet? Do you have a connection to the network? Do you have an up-to-date blockchain? I had an issue with sending Peercoins. I found it had stuck because of a lost internet connection a few hours before. It was not enough to reenable the network connection and load the rest of the blockchain. To clear the dead entry in the transaction list I had to recover from a backup. If you want to know if your coins ever have been sent, then take a look into a block explorer.

The Wallet tells me "No block source available..." (9 days behind)
9 days before I updated my wallet to version 0.8.5.6, running on a Windows 7 VM. I prepared the system with Tor, the new wallet reloaded the full blockchain successfully.
Now after 9 days I get no connection. I started the Tor browser first, then the wallet. Both with standard configurations. With Tor I'm able to browse the Internet. Where should I look now?
