Good morn Bitcoinland. Six one four nine US bucks (Bitcoinaverage). It feels to me like Another lazy Sunday, Nothing much to do Except eat and drink And try to avoid Covid By staying at home. Now it seems as if Laziness is becoming A noble virtue. God, you all are going on about the finer points of gin, and here I am chugging fireball.....
(Yukon Jack is tasty as well)
Flavored whisky shots? Gin is just flavored vodka. Pretty much the same.

I've tried to avoid the debate on how to treat gin. I enjoy it with Schwepp's and a twist as well as with Dolin's and an olive and a few drops of the brine.
But Bombay Sapphire for gawd's sake? Isn't that something they use for stripping paint? It's barely better than Beefeater or Gilbey's.
To rank it above Tanqueray is a sacrilege and Tanqueray is just middle-of -the-road. I prefer Hendrick's (especially Orbium) for a more subtle, refined taste and Gordon's for full-on honest juniper goodness.
To each their own, I guess. I place Sapphire, Tanqueray, and even Hendricks as about equivalent quality-wise. I just like the mix of infused botanicals in Sapphire. Hendricks is good for a change of pace from time to time. Cucumber garnish, please. Gordon's!? Egad, sir! Begone from this place with that turpentine! Well, I guess it's not _crap_ per se - just bland as all nothingness. To each their own indeed. I see that you hold classic Gordon's London Dry gin in almost as low esteem as I hold trendy Bombay Sapphire. There's a big difference between the two though. In my opinion, Sapphire tastes like any other over-infused modern martini-oriented gin but without the sublety of Hendrick's or even Tanqueray. Gordon's on the other hand is not a martini gin. Its robust straight-up juniper flavor is unparalleled for mixing with tonic water. Even their advertising recognizes this: Almost 250 years ago, Alexander Gordon started his distillery in London and set about creating the recipe for a brilliant tasting gin. Gordon's high quality and distinctive juniper flavour has come to define the taste of the classic G&T. Gordon's today is a gin that's enjoyed, not dissected. Whatever. Booze is intended for enjoyment, not debate. You enjoy your Sapphire. I'll enjoy may Orbium martinis and Gordon's & Schwepp's. Cheers.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Nasty little dip (only nasty because I can't buy it) last night... currently $6268USD/$8793CAD (Bitcoinaverage). I've only got a little less than 3BTC accessible to me here and they have to last me until this Covid-19 thing blows over. I'd rather they were worth more at this time, instead of less. Oh well. They're mainly for sending to friends and family in Canada to keep my bills paid and take care of emergencies. C'mon Bitcoin. Bart back up and beyond. Now a bottle of gin for Jimbo, airdropped to the jungle please.
Thanks but what I really need is a few dozen cases of beer and several cases of assorted good dry red table wines. I have lots of gin. I could also use some good full-flavored tequila for making margaritas. All I have left is the prissy "subtly-flavored" stuff you drink out of a shot glass. Edit: ...also some real Cointreau for the margaritas please. All I have left is a cheap knock-off called "Controy" in a lookalike square bottle, and some other triple sec. I won't even mention the blue Curacao.

The only explanation is trading and that's something that never crossed my mind as many casualties of this thread will prove.
Trading is a sucker's game. Traders are milked by exchanges just like rubes at casinos.

Shit just got serious here. They decided to suspend the sale of alcohol for 14 days here to "maintain public order" during social distancing. What a crock. It is state-wide so you can't even get a cerveza at the local posada in a small town or village. https://www.eleconomista.com.mx/estados/Quintana-Roo-suspendera-la-venta-de-alcohol-en-horarios-extraordinarios-por-Covid-19-20200326-0105.htmlWTF? Gangs of drunken social distancers rioting in the streets? They don't think they'll find alternate activities? I guess the pot cartels will make a killing (oops wrong choice of words?). Down to my last 3 Tecates in the fridge. Hoping to find a back door somewhere in town but it's a long shot. Most proprietors will want to keep what they might have left for themselves. Everyone has a price though. Luckily I have a fairly well-stocked bar so it's not like I'm gonna go completely thirsty. During a heat wave (36c/97f) like we're having now I'd rather have a frosty cold cerveza than hard liquor though. I'm also down to my last bottle of merlot and that won't last more than a few dinners even if I ration it down to a glass a meal. Luckily the girl only has a sip of mine. Here I thought we were avoiding most of the Covid-19 crap. This one hurts. I guess I can't complain though as long as we're free of the actual virus. Life goes on.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Still bouncing along in the mid-$6xxx range... currently $6616USD/$9342CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Calm before the storm? ____

I'll take a pass on that novelty bluebottle beginner's crap, thank you.
That said, I do have a half a bottle of it in my bar here and gin's not usually available out here in the jungle. I don't want to go anywhere near a city or tourist destination until this Covid-19 crap blows over so I may be forced to use it if I run out of Orbium, Hendrick's, Gordon's and Tanqeray.
Got lots of Dolin's, Noilly Prat and Martini&Rossi though. Olives aren't a problem. High-quality jumbo stuffed manzanilla olives might take a trip to a city though.
Out here I don't think they've ever heard of quinine water. Pity. During a stifling heat wave like we're experiencing now, a well-iced Gordon's and Schwepp's would really hit the spot.
Aaah, the hardships of jungle living.

I'm not a good teacher so this hat-making thing must be genetic.
Nonsense. You're the best kind of teacher. You do things. Kids don't learn from being told. They learn from watching and copying.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still bouncing along sideways in the mid-$6xxx range... currently $6646USD/$9390CAD (Bitcoinaverage). C'mon Bitcoin, we're waiting for $7k (and beyond). Get a move on. A warrior of light an adult does not act like that.

he said he knew how to access the coins but didn't have time to do it himself
Gee. I'd access the coins myself but I don't have time for a trifling 2/3 million dollars. Must be nice. ___ Edit: Cool. I just noticed I passed 2.5k activity. Gotta do better on the merit though.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Still bouncing along in the upper $6xxx range... currently $6683USD/$9597CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
How soon $7k?
Go Bitcoin go.

I don't think the drop was caused by covid-19 per se.
I think it was mostly a result of the crash of the stock markets worldwide. As stock markets fell many sold off other assets, especially by those with margins who were in danger of being called.
The rest was mostly panic at Bitcoin's price drop itself. Gamblers/traders sold while long-term investors held firm.
Sure enough, while the stock markets have made only modest recovery, Bitcoin has recovered more than half of what it lost in the panic.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Still creeping up after yesterday's gains... currently $6720USD/$9760CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
We still have a week left in Mic's contest. Should be interesting.
Go Bitcoin go.

Meanwhile, back in Bitcoinland we've just gone over $6.7k. That's up almost a grand from earlier today.
Is everyone so numbed by the last week and a half that nobody cares anymore?
I guess we have to hit $8k before anyone wakes up.

...I barely got out of Thailand with my bitcoins intact...Fortunately I had a backup that I split among family members because all of my cryptosteel was on the seastead...
Any wonder why they decided that your tiny pied-a-mer was a threat to Thai sovereignty and threatened you with death? It would have been an interesting interrogation if they'd caught you. What's a $5 wrench compared to a navy and a firing squad? Sovereignty was just an excuse.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still over $6k... currently $6310USD/$9140CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Go Bitcoin go. Johan Cruijff was not a Dutch philosopher. He was a football player and captain. He did have some very good quotes...
That's like saying Yogi Berra was not an American philosopher.

I'm convinced we are. I have been holding for five years and didnt have all this profit the hodlers cult talk about.
If I had sold, however, would have seem some profit.
The sad thing is that I will need to hold for five more years until bitcoin is able to breach 10k again. Right now we are going to sub-1000s levels.
Are you trolling or just deluded? Your "facts" don't add up. You say you've been holding for 5 years. That means since 2015. In 2015 the price of Bitcoin was well under $1k. The current price is over $6k. At one point it was over $19k. Even at its lowest point in between it was still over $3k. Even at the worst reckoning you've made well over 200% profit. At best it was over 1800%. In reality if you'd bought at 2015's lows, your profits would have been 5x those numbers. 5 more years to "breach 10k"? LOL Going to sub-1000s? Now I know you're trolling. Or maybe just a member of the trading cult. See you next year. Meanwhile, check out the Wall Observer thread to see how the more successful people live.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Hanging in over $6k (barely) after bouncing up and down in the $5.6k-$7.1k range... currently $6222USD/$8925CAD (Bitcoinaverage). I'm wondering if we might spend a little time going sideways here. I feel the panic dump is over but the immediate correction back up may be over too. I guess we'll have to wait and see. This is why hodlers are perhaps better prepared for the Covid-19 restrictions. We're accustomed to waiting. Patience is a virtue. Go Bitcoin go. On my way back home, wife denied boarding to Canada despite marriage certificate and all visa documents. Booked another flight for her to her country in short order. Boarding at the same time at neighboring gates. Just as she steps through the gate to board her plane, I receive information that they've made a mistake and she's now allowed under the family exception. That's what I was trying to fucking tell you at the desk you imbecile! No amount of protest can bring her back to the gate from the plane. I watch our planes depart in different directions. Some pure bullshit today. WTF
Wow. Just wow. This is one reason why we're staying put here in the jungle. Too many idiots in a position to fuck you over with their stupidity. My heart goes out to you. How long do you think it will take to get back together?

Stop using the paper money. Seriously, paper money is the easiest way to spread any kind of germs.
Not my paper money. You may want to seal those, just to be safe against deterioration and tearing. Don't worry. Most of my "paper" wallets are encrypted silicon, duplicated and off-site. Those that are actually paper (travel, current transactions, etc.) I keep in money-sized ziplock baggies along with pertinent transaction details like dates, amounts, sources etc. I also archive my old swept wallets with their records. Some of them even have bits of forkcoins I never bothered to scavenge. They're also in baggies but additionally sealed in Mylar. Someday even those forkcoin "faketoshis" might add up.
